Thanks to Steve for sending me a bunch of recordings from previous tours that he and his friend taped, along with this one he recorded from the Tension tour! This is a very good recording, taped from the rear of the arena (recorded video from the show as well). Taper also ran a second DR-2D with just the internals and he prefers that recording. Stating that the sonic source is rather, "bright." But I will let you be the judge. A quality tape!

Great recording, vocals of all the band members are very clear, there is some singing along from the crowd but nothing very extreme. Top notch recording.

At the beginning of March 2020, I was emailed by someone who had recorded this show. There had been some back and forth and emails were a bit slow. In four months, there were probably 3-4 email exchanges. I thought this had ran its course and whenever they wanted to swap tapes it may happen. Well, May 2021 I get another email! We setup a swap of some DAT clones and here we are! This taper/collector is looking for Ed Phetterton DAT clones and if you have them, there are other recordings that could come out! So if you can help me out tracking some down, please let me know. The quality on this one is excellent and I can only imagine the others! Anyways, this is the third source to come from this date. The second complete source. The quality as noted, is incredible. First few seconds of 'Terrible Lie' are not caught and I took some of source 1 and spliced it in at the beginning if that helps. Slight dropouts from 1:27-1:35 of Terrible Lie. Probably due to age of the DAT tape, or just an error when recording. Other than that, this recording is flawless!

I had posted pictures of the on a concert taper forum, as I knew others would appreciate seeing the organized chaos down there. Rocksuitcase messaged saying that they had taped Dallas 1995 and sent that over to me to archive. But also he asked some of his other friends if they had taped NIN and found that his friend PS taped the NIN/Bowie show in Denver 1995. So here is that tape! Just like source 1, this recording is almost complete. NIN's abrupt start left many tapers missing the first opening lines of 'Terrible Lie.' Source 1 is missing some of Andy Warhol, but this recording has the full Bowie set. Overall the sound is very good and I thank rocksuitcase reaching out to connections to see if they had any NIN tapes. Thank you to PS for providing the raw DAT master transfer. It was transferred at 24/48, but I had converted it to 16/48 - the maximum bit and sampling rate of DAT tapes.

Thanks to acc123456, I was able to get a proper recording from this date. This was mislabeled on the archive from a Kansas City 1994 date. This has now been fixed. This is a D. Merz source, but sounds like a DAT to cassette generation with some hiss apparent. Also this is a mono recording. I know that DM was having trouble with his mics around this time and I am not sure if this show only one channel was working. Would love a DAT copy of this recording. I had another error on this page stating 'Ruiner' was performed after 'Suck.' But it was actually 'The Only Time' performed. Can confirm this is the right recording because at the beginning of 'Closer' Trent acknowledges Sioux Falls about being close to the end of a year long tour, almost a week left. The recording is pretty good, but a lower gen from a DAT would be preferred.

A good recording for this tour. The quality varies throughout, mostly due to some phasing in some of the songs. Probably taping in the pit and the mics are being bumped. By the end of the show the mics get muffled.

This is a DAT Clone from the master tape. Very good recording. Arguably the best from the beginning of 1995. We used to have a cassette dubbed version from this DAT recording and this copy blows it out of the water. Thanks to Sim for allowing us to transfer the tape! This tape is also a bit longer than the cassette version because it includes the encore break.

Smores strikes again by finding some uncirculated NIN! This show is another from the collection of Beerengineer that he was kind enough to give to be shared in this form. This person let others borrow his recording equipment to tape shows, which is pretty rad! After listening through the recording, it is fantastic. With it being so old, there are some drawbacks with some digital scratches during a few songs (Pinion, Mr. Self Destruct, Piggy) and I would contribute the age to that. Or possibly the transfer. Sometimes DAT tapes can be sensitive to the deck used. Would love to try and transfer it on the 3 decks I have to see. Besides that, the tapes are flawless. Sound is immaculate.

I have had a few iterations of this recording over the years. Starting with a horrible 320 mp3 version that was muddy and compressed. Then I received a low gen DAT copy in LP mode that sounded better. Now thanks to the DMLiveWiki, here is a 1st gen cassette tape of this recording. I was in contact with Aaron almost 14 years ago and he sent me a dozen or so tapes to transfer of his. But this was not in the batch of tapes. I always hoped that some of his earlier master tapes were found. Matt dissects the tape a bit more in his notes, "A very good audience recording. Bass is slightly distorted depending on the song. Somewhat noisy crowd around the taper. The prior version of this recording was sourced from a second generation DAT copy in LP mode (32khz), which degraded the quality to some extent. That version also had occasional digital clipping. This version is sourced from a first-generation cassette with no digital clipping, clearer lineage information, and a transfer performed on a high-end cassette deck. The MC intro before the concert is also complete. Thanks to James K. for providing this cassette for transfer."

Released in April 2014. This show has been uncirculated for almost 23 years! I want to thank billydee for recording the show and sending this tape to ellaguru to be transferred! This tape was not playing properly on a few decks so I took it to be transferred and tried my decks that I have. It wouldn't play well on my DA-20 but it played perfect on my trusty D8! In terms of sound quality. This tape is fantastic! For an early NIN show, especially during the Lollapalooza shows, you are not going to find a better tape. There is some brick walling in a few spots, but that should not deter you from grabbing this show. It is arguably the best sounding NIN Lolla show that is available! The performance is great! There is some equipment malfunction right before "Down In It" and it sounds like someone smashes a keyboard - CONFIRMED by Dan S who was in attendance and grabbed a broken key. Enjoy the recording! This was transferred and archived at 16/48. This is the rate the DAT master was recorded at.
