yay. I get to be first.

I'll keep it short. This show rocked. The setlist seemed to be the same as what I've been seeing posted for recent shows. The intensity and presentation was just awesome. It transported me back to the last tour. I've seen Trent and co. 8 times now (going back to 1994) and this show was just as intense as some of the best before. Definitely in the top 3 shows I've seen. Aaron North did an excellent job up there and the new drummer didn't seem to miss a beat.

The lights and presentation were awesome. The video montage was powerful. My only complaint is that I wish the show was longer.

I dug DFA but QOTSA kinda put me to sleep. They had a few good songs but the rest was just all sounding the same.

On top of all that, the place was pretty packed and the crowd seemed to be way into it. (At least all of us in the seats were).

I dug the Austin show back in May, but IMO this blew it away. Sad that I don't have tickets to the Houston show!

just got back from the concert and thought i'd let everybody in on my impressions... the set list is exactly the same as it has been for the last few shows, so i won't bother writing here again.

death from whatever... they were interesting but the crowd was sparse and i don't have too many details on them

Queens of the Stone Age were fun. Josh was pretty chatting making references to the songs being about fucking or lsd. He stopped the beginning of a song to yell at security to leave people alone and that we were all there to have fun. Just a few songs into the set Josh broke his guitar in half and threw it into the crowd for souviners. They finished to some pretty loud applause.

Then...

The american airlines center was packed. It looked to be close to sold out with only the upper upper seats being empty. The pit was packed and full of body surfing and moshing throughout the set. Several people were pulled out of the pit completely knocked out, so I hope they're ok. NIN was great, everyone, and I mean everyone was on their feet for the entire concert. It seemed like a great vibe and the band fed off of it pretty well i thought. Trent didn't chat much at all other than to say thank you a few times. After Reptile Trent said that it was the first time a girl had flashed him when they played that song, which led to many flashes during the next song. Overall, the band sounded great. The drummer didn't seem to make any mistakes and the show didn't have any technical issues either. Aaron basically went crazy for most of the show, ending by jumping off of the keyboard setup, throwing a mike stand, puncturing a speaker and then pushing it off the stage, and finally smashing his guitar. Just wish I had tickets to the Houston show. Oh, and lucky me, I was in the third row. Unbelievable, thanks to the Spiral.

My only dissapointment was that there was no encore. Other than that it was perfect. If I was independantly wealthy I would follow NIN around the country like they were the Grateful Dead. The live versions of Reptile and Burn were amazing. NIN is still the best show I've seen.
I'd never heard DFA'79, and I thought they were pretty good.
I'm a QOTSA fan, so I got a kick out of that. Watching Josh Homme bait the security and throw a broken guitar into the crowd as a souvenir was fun too.

Better than San Antonio...stood in front of teh board..excellent view...heard that Deep was soundchcked but wasnt played...oh well..still a great show

man i thought death from above 1979 was ok but not memorable. qotsa did better than i thought. i had figured they were a studio band but they put on an equally impressive live show. but the place rattled to the core when the first sound came from behind the see through screen and nails started. i was in excellent seats but i shoulda got GA, but being my first concert i was worried dumbasses would make the entire floor a boxing ring. to my astonishment the entire floor was an ideal place. everyone stood up from the second nails started till the lights came on. never am i going to miss another NIN concert in my area. just wish i coulda seen the 95 tds tour when they met up with manson's anti-christ superstar tour, oh well.

It's sort of disappointing that he's playing the same set over and over. I hope there'll be a change at the houston show. By the way he left a few songs out of this set... it only last 1hr30min... San antones was 1hr45.
The worst part is... these are the EXACT same songs he played in Austin during May well minus 'home and SICNH'

sigh, go go different songs tomorrow night.

oh man last night was AMAZING. I was on the floor...we started out near the front center during DRA and then when QOTSA came on the crowd went insane so we were moved around, and decided to move to the far left when NIN came on so we wouldn't die lol. so i was on the front left side in front of jeordie most of the show until i was pushed into the front center again near trent. i do admit the fragility tour was alot better than the with teeth tour (or atleast i think so...i think this is b/c of different live bands and a better set) but i still had a great time and loved the video with Eraser. i really wish that they had done an encore though, and trent barely spoke to the crowd...oh well i am just happy i finally got to experience nin.

yea, I was really dissapointed I didn't get to hear SICNH live sicne it's one of my favorites, but holy shit that was the best show I've ever seen. The visuals, the lights, everything was amazing. And where I was sitting the sound was crystal clear. I love American Airlines Center

Great show, pretty much as awesome as San Antonio. was on the floor this time, lots of energy down there. I wasn't too close up front b/c had 3 people w/me that don't know NIN well, but there was lots of energy even in our area.

Would have liked a more varied set (from the one in SA), but the songs are all great so who can complain? Plus, I think with the new drummer it just doesn't allow for quite as much variety as they would otherwise.

This was my sixth show, going back to 94, and they keep getting better and better. I'll keep coming back!

Hell yeah!!!! DFA was more entertaining to me even though I like QOTSA they are just not as cool w/out their old bassist. I had a pit pass and used my ticket and one I found on the ground to sneak down like 8 of my friends. The setlist was not the same from Austin. They added Only, Eraser, Beside You in Time and RWIB. The crowd wasnt bad. I started mid pit and worked to about 3 people from the bar dead center. I took a lot of pix from my friends phone. I'll put them up shortly along with a pic of Aaron, Alessondro and myself. They were walking around the circle at AAC and no one seemed to know who they were. I made the circle a bit and chatted with them before snaping a pic. As usual Aaron was a complete maniac during the show running and jumping off of everything. I heard a rumor that the new drummer wants to play the perfect drug. Too bad that didnt happen. Ummmm.....I only saw 2 butts all night and not a single nipple. Ladies you need to work on this because I paid damn good money for very little nudity. Also, no fatties please.

For those of you complaining about hearing the same set night after night - just one thought . . . . How many people in the arena see more than one show during the tour? Further, I would be pissed off if I were one of the 98% of fans who only get to see one show and, at that show, I didn't get to hear great songs like Head Like a Hole, Only or the Right Where it Belongs compilation because the band happened to have played those songs the night before. I guess you'll just have to chalk it up to being one of the unbearable burdens of following the band. Quit bitching!!

Great fucking show. I also like the way the venue was kept so cool, well atleast until I got in front for NIN. And man Dallas represented when it came to the hot looking ladies coming out to the show. Can't wait for the Houston show tomorrow.

Wow. My homies are really, really focused. That's what I have to say about Dallas audiences. I used the phrase "a pack of starving wolves" to describe the preconcert atmosphere, and I think it applies doubly to the show itself.

There were a few moments when the crowd call-and-response was so loud and so much in unison, I was sure it must be coming from the speakers. And then wondered why My People -- of all people -- were making the band do all the work. It was a little surreal. I don't know how much of that was due to my own sleep deprivation, though.

Someone remembered the Slaughter at the Slaughterhouse! At least, that's why I think the security staff were metaphorically firing so many shots over concertgoers' heads -- and so early and often! -- because somebody told them what happened the last time NIN played a Dallas venue with hockey ice under the floor. Come on, security fellas, that was nearly 11 years ago! You're not still mad, are you? (Besides, I don't think those modern plastics break as easily or aerodynamically as the Fair Park Coliseum's particle board did.)

Plus I found it interesting that event security was actually telling people on the floor to put their arms down at one point. Was that just me? Am I misinterpreting what the guy was trying to convey?

I think I saw four EMTs in the pit at the same time last night. I also think this is some sort of record. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: the experience overall, I remain amazed and mystified to a nearly unprecedented degree. This was quite a chapter in my personal NIN history.

And guys, next time you're looking for the titty action, check the stands on the way out. Two ladies were doing their best Girls Gone Wild reenactment in the lower bowl. There probably will be video, and it probably will be on the Web somewhere. Happy hunting.

the show was amazing...full of energy once again..way better than the san antonio show though..trent seemed way more into it claiming it "feels good to back in Texas" ...after march of the pigs trent almost fell square on his ass after tripping over his own mic stand...several mics were thrown into the crowd. oh and that girl who flashed trent was on my shoulders lol...great show to top it all off. ..great...fucking...show.

This show rocked my ass!!!! I waited eight years for this, Eraser was heaven, so the wait was worth it. The people standing right in front of me sucked though. They just stood there smoking and only seemed to know the most recent and popular songs. I was freaking out, running into them, and literally screaming along with every song behind them, but they didn't move. I was on the floor in front of the stage on the right side.

Definitely said the word "tits."

The show kicked ass. Only the second time I've seen them, the first was in Columbus during the Fragility tour, and we were pretty far back from the stage. This time, GA (thanks Spiral!) and it was an entirely different experience.

Getting in early (Spiral!), got about 4 people from the stage. Death from above 1979, meh. Didn't really care for them. OK, but my overall impression was "loud."

QOTSA were great. I wasn't that familiar with the band, and was surprised to be familiar with 4 or so songs. Josh Homme bitched at the security guys, broke a guitar and fed it to the audience, etc. Of note, when he declared that the next song was about "fucking," he sounded lame compared to Trent.

4-5 guys, during the QOTSA act, were insisting on moshing hard. Maybe they thought it would get them laid somehow.

At least 30 min. intermission between QOTSA and NIN. Seemed like longer because I was crammed in the front. These same assholes who were moshing during the previous set were PUSHING (seriously) into those of us in front. I'm not joking. At least a dozen people were yelling at them. After one of my arms got crushed between other people, I got the fuck out of there. Realized I was not going to enjoy the show like that, even if I was up close. Reading about EMT's and such, I'm glad I bailed.

The whole NIN set was awesome. The visuals were perfectly in time. For all those bitching about repetitive set lists, consider that the lighting/visuals needed to be perfectly choreographed with the music for the right effect. Take your pick. Great visuals vs. varied set list.

My only complaint with the NIN part is the Only could have been a little cleaner. It seemed kinda "mushy" in a way, and that song always sounded very precise and "crisp."

Sorry for the long review. I can't get "Love is Not Enough" out of my head. Never realized how much that song could kick ass.

I agree. I was very excited to hear that track but really thought it was missing the funky vibe the album version has.

I somehow made it up to basically 2 people from the front (and I wasn't butting my way through, it just kinda happened) after they played Only. I had fun but realized, again, why I don't do that anymore. The feeling of any number of other peoples sweat drenching my own shirt is not something I get excited about. Oh yeah, and the stupid crowd.

now i'm glad that i didn't do the floor for this show. i was at the Austin show earlier this year and i had the shit beat out of me there. i got pulled after 2 songs.

this show was fuckign amazing, though.

what was the lyric that was played in "right where it belongs" when bush was on the screen waltzing? Some stoned guy was talking to me and i couldn't listen but really wanted to. i know it was "fucking" something. can someone tell me what part it was or does someone have a video of it?

i just wanted to say that this was the most breathtaking expierience of my life. i have loved nin since i heard the first note of sin, and Trent more than lived up to my expectations. he is by far the best performer i have ever seen. this experience will definitely stay with me for the rest of my life.

i was up front, right between jeordie and Trent and the intensity was insane! i loved every sweaty, bone-crushing second of this show. also, my personal highlight was watching Trent play/sing Hurt, which is the most beautiful song i've ever heard.

The heat and the sweat didn't bother me so much in the pit. Although I anticipated getting knocked around (left all jewelry at home, including wedding ring), and getting smushed, I'm not really fond of pain, and I wanted to enjoy the music.

I'm never getting reserved seating again for a NIN concert. At the front of the board, I got a good view, excellent sound, and was able to dance/scream/groove to my heart's content. And still didn't have to worry about being clobbered.

I am afraid to hope that they'll come around again next year (as rumored). Since leaving the arena, I've regretted not planning on going to more shows.

This was my first NIN show, and I was truly satisfied. Although the stage was a little hard to see [Section 104, Row M], the sound blew me away. During "Hurt", it sounded like everyone was singing in unison, and it sounded beautiful.

I also snuck in a camera, so I'll be posting those pics on here soon.

But to sum it all up, the performance was orgasmic.

P.S. I wish he didn't cut his hair. Dammit.

Did anyone else get felt up in the pit? There was this frat-boy type in a Tool T-shirt who couldn't keep his hands to himself. After pushing them away 4 times, he finally got the picture.

Then promptly moved on to a woman just in front of me. Oh, well.

This was my first Nine Inch Nails show. I can't believe it took me so long to go to one of their shows. It was absolutely amazing. There was so much energy. I was on the right of the stage on the platinum level. And while I didn't have that great of a view of the projected images on the curtain, the show was probably the best I have ever seen. What was really awesome was the late 50's couple that was sitting in the row in front of me that were absolutely JAMMING to just about every song. Seeing this woman that was probably close to 60 years old practically screaming "I wanna fuck you like an animal!" was great. I personally wasn't able to sit still through the entire show. Sorry to the guy sitting next to me.

I am so looking forward to their next trek through Dallas. I'll never miss another NIN show that comes to Dallas again. Especially now being a premium Spiral member.
