amazing. surreal. intense.

same setlist as the previous shows. no surprises in that sense. regardless, the show was outstanding. the band was incredibly tight. alex is doing a fantastic job, as he hardly missed a beat (may have missed one or two during WISH ?).

i ended up in section 100, and did the walk down to the section railing. IMO, one of the best seats in the house -- enabled me to take some amazing pictures, using the railing as a stand. will post them tomorrow - at least one from each song, including numberous from the eraser/RWIB/BYIT montage, which by the way was stunning.

enough for tonight. long day. next philly, then wilkes -- saturday and sunday. can't wait.

Just got back from tonight's show. I am exhausted. I will post more in depth later, but I wanted to post something fresh from the experience. I have never been to a better show ever. PERIOD! The experience was punctuated by the privilege of hearing the soundcheck. There was no M&G probably due to the large number of people there early. The soundcheck was awesome. We heard Even Deeper twice, behind a curtain before they let us in, and finally when they did they had just started playing Dead Souls. DEAD FUCKING SOULS. I never thought I would ever hear that live. Thank you, Trent, it was amazing. They also did Love is not enough, and Aaron seemed to have flubbed a little so TR started singing " it sounds like shit on stage..." too funny. Also Wish, and The Frail/The Wretched. Our own mini concert. I got some decent pix which I will post tomorrow.

that show fucking SUCKED. it sounded like shit and trent fucked up all the songs. the visuals were retarded, yeah okay bush sucks, WE GET IT. the guy in the audience playing air guitar did a better job than aaron, and jerome could get a frontal lobotomy and still sound better than that hack they got drumming now. and what the hell was up with that clapping shit they kept doing? what a ripoff, i want my fucking money back.

DFA1979 was awesome though.

The show was great! My favorite part was when everyone was singing along with Trent on Hurt, it just sounded really awesome! I think I was stuck in the only section where everyone was sitting down the entire show...so that kind of took away from the excitement for me, I don't understand how anyone can sit down during Wish, March of the Pigs and Head Like A Hole... Wtf? Anyway, highlights for me were Gave Up, Reptile, Suck and Wish. I'm sad it is over, I wanna go again!

wow man that seriously was incredible. i waited a long time for it. Highlights were definitely Eraser, all the funny goth kids, and blowing $35 on a poster and food.

i couldn't make it there early enough to wait for the soundcheck, and i'm pissed since they played 2 songs not in the set. oh well, that's life, i was lucky i was able to go at all. i got some great pictures that i'll post here whenever i get some free time, perhaps this weekend. set list seemed the same as what they've been doing lately since tampa, these are the songs, and this should be in order.

Even though I didn't get in until 7 (remind me to never offer rides to people on campus again) I managed to get about 4 back from the rail in front of Aaron. The people around me were awesome, and I had a perfect, unobstructed view of Trent on my left, Alessandro in the middle, and Aaron directly to my right. Anyone else see Alessandro throw a water bottle at Aaron? I found that entertaining. I can't really describe, well, anything right now, but I couldn't be happier.

DFA was good, QOTSA was, too (Josh Homme sure is...swively)

He certainly got *VERY* buff.

This was perhaps the most outstanding and emotionally riveting concert I've ever been to - NIN or otherwise. It was like the culmination of my entire history of listening to NIN - from 90 onward.

I'm floored.

My first NIN concert and it was awesome! Got there early enough to see DFA1979. I think me and 10 other people liked them. For 2 guys they are really loud. The drummer was great. Love QOTSA and wasn't disappointed. They sound great live. Joey Castillo is an animal. Troy moved more than I thought he would. Love the white shoes. I think the crowd was pretty receptive since Josh didn't make any comments like he apparently has in the past. Love em. NIN. Unbelievable for a newbie like me. Trent sounded good considering he's been touring most of 2005.Even from where I was sitting in section 400, I could see everyone and even then Trent's muscles were visible. What the hell? Aaron was all over the stage, flinging his guitar around. I can't believe that he actually plays any notes but okay. Saw him with his feet in the air and body slam Alex's drums. I think Alex did okay. Still don't like the way he played Wish and even THTF didn't sound quite right. But I am a Jerome fan, so I really miss him. Jeordie has become quite the hand clapper. Hurt was amazing. Loved it all.

I was lucky enough to have very nice seats for the show, for which I am thankful, considering it's 8am and I'm back at work in York, PA now. I wonder how many people lost digits and or limbs when Aaron threw Trent's keyboard into the crowd at the end.

I think Alex plays Burn better than anyone else, but also think he's still having trouble grasping March of the Pigs. Eraser was really nice.

i noticed that,, the begining of the second verse, it was like he slowed down a bit for a sec. i can't help but think of what the show would have been like with jerome playing. probably a longer setlist for one...but alex wasn't that bad, there weren't any train wrecks.

The concert was outstanding. I took my girl who isn't a huge fan and she loved it. The set list was perfect as far as I think, I mean I will never get tired of hearing Terrible Lie live. The crowd was awsome, the Spiral entrance rocked - it took no time to get tickets! And the seats! Damn right near the rail. Unfortunately, that meant that I got to see Aaron do that guitar flip thing every 20 seconds. Come on man, it's cool at first, but gets old fast.

i'm not a real big QOTSA fan, but their act changed my mind.

I'm not totally convinced about the new band though. Alessandro is a good keyboardist, but I still think Charlie is better, especially on the Fragility tour with the terimin set-up. And Closer was a little weird since it wasn't played as much on keys as guitar. Small complaints, but hey, it's a new band and a new Trent and a new tour. All in all - they absolutly kicked ass, without question. Eraser, March of the Pigs, BURN!!! all rocked.

This concert was awesome. It was sort of like and end of a journey for me. I have been a big fan for about 10 years, but never had the chance to see NIN live. Now, I have seen them and can move on to my next phase of life.

Question: How slow can you play Pinion?
Answer: Pretty fucking slow.

Question: What songs were the best?
Answer: Eraser, Reptile, Suck, TLBTB

Question: Was the crowd good - or did it seem like a Lord of The Rings expo?
Answer: The crowd was good, and it did seem like a Lord of The Rings expo.

Ah, that was our "Locate Drunkpoet and crew" post-gig entertainment for the evening. I actually saw a number of faces that I probably recognized from the board, but didn't really say hi to any of them, except Robin TMP, who then had to leave.

It's all good. It's easier to meet up with and say hi to people before the show than it is after the show.

Wow. Really, I mean wow. I saw them earlier this year in Atlanta, but we got so trashed that I don't really remember a great deal of it. I was just jazzed about seeing them again no matter how they sounded.

This time I had nosebleed seats and Trent was about an inch tall, but that tiny little man put on the best performance I have ever seen. This one show really made the past 16 years of following him around totally worth it.

Not only does he look awesome (not just hot, but strong and healthy), but his stage presence is now unbelievably (how can I put this) right in your fucking face like he's a hammer and you're the poor little ten penny nail.

Trent's voice sounded fantastic as well. I remember seeing him several times where he was so quiet you could barely hear him through several of the songs. This time his voice dominated the stadium. He was screaming, singing and moaning like I'd never heard him do before. It was amazing to watch.


An for DFA1979, they sucked ass. There are only so many versions of drummer screaming into mic with a guitarist that you can do before they all sound the same.

And I am not a huge QOTSA fan, but I have a new found respect for them as they put on a pretty good show. Only thing that bugged me about it was the lead singer's "look at me and my phenomenal guitar-playing ability" that was going on throughout the set.

I guess you missed it when Josh said "I hope you guys do something other than stand around with your thumb up your ass" before Song of the Dead. He looked very pissed off to me.

There is the video of HLAH with the keyboard throwing. Alessandro was PISSED. He was throwing water bottles HARD at Aaron, but it was really funny to watch.

Yea id like too see all the vids you got from last night, I was there too and I would also have to agree that march of the pigs was deff a highlight and I think the crowd got into that song the most.

I was at the Atlanta show earlier this year too. In my opinion, that show was better. I think, though, I probably only say that because the venue was so small and seeing them in a place like that was just absolutely mindblowing. Last night was awesome as well, but the small venue really just kicked my ass. Anyway, Trent always kicks my ass no matter what. It was great just to see them again. Rock on.

Waiting in line for the soundcheck was not as bad as I thought it would be. I met a couple of people from ETS and Spiral. *Waves at everybody* Sorry, I'm bad with names!

The soundcheck was so amazing. DEAD SOULS!!! Being 10 feet away from the band during our own private show is something I will never forget. I was lame and shouted out "Thanks Trent" when they finished, and he was cool enough to wave back.

This was my first show on this arena tour. I was unsure about the curtain after hearing people bitch about it. Well, I loved it.

I was in the 100 section on Aaron's side. He is so fun to watch.

The setlist was no surprise but I was surprised that I liked Closer and Only -- Closer sounded really good and Only is a much better song live.

First NIN concert, fan since 8th grade, changed my life, if not for them I'd be listening to dave matthews band, etc...

Great show, the band still had a great amount of energy, considering how late it is in the tour. However, and maybe it's just the section I was in (111), but the crowd was awful. This was my girlfriend's first ever rock concert, and even she rocked out more. Seriously, most of the people just stood there with arms folded. I'll be on the floor from now on, never mind any resulting bruises. Other than that though, lots of fun, though I would've enjoyed at least another song from the fragile. Also appreciated the token obscure song "burn," after their biggest radio hit, "closer."

I'm new to the forum... will probably only post this. The show was fantastic. I saw them on the Downward Spiral tour at the Baltimore arena and was completely hooked... a doobie and some SoCo enhanced the show greatly at the time. Now sober and 10 years older, I enjoyed it even more (and enjoyed sitting this time). Absolutely incredible. I'm glad Trent used the screen in front of the band on this tour... that effect was amazing on the Downward Spiral tour. Side seats must have sucked... I was in 432 but couldn't see anything during QOTSA... so we moved to section 406 in front of the stage... great move. It wasn't hard as the upper deck was not even half full (what's up with that?!). I guess people don't know what they're missing!

Anyway, thanks Trent/NIN... awesome show!

Show was amazing, the soundcheck surreal.

Did anybody hear me say "Aaron!.. the chicken suit!" then I knew he was laughing then I said "you know you're laughing!" then he looked at me with a big smile on his face. haha!

Trent's guitar kept cutting off during soundcheck and aaron was all "what the fuck!"

I was in the deadcenter right in front of trent and was able to keep my spot the whole show even after all that chaos in the pit.

Had a great time.

PS. I hope someone recorded the show!

I missed all of Death From Above because of getting lost (yes I am a loser..although it wasn't my fault...) and half of Queens of the Stone age. I don't know DFA but I wasn't unhappy about missing half of QOTSA because I was very unimpressed with what I did see. They had no energy at all, and the guitar solos were kind of ridiculous.

NIN though...wow. I've never seen them before and it was pretty incredible. Aaron North lives up to his reputation and then some, and everyone else was great as well. I was in section 100, which was great...had an excellent few of the whole stage. I have to say though, my favorite part was early in the show whent Trent skipped all the way across the stage...that was brilliant. Musical highlights would have to be The Line Begins to Blur and Head Like a Hole.

I just got back this afternoon. I have been waiting eight years to see nine inch nails live and I was not let down. They put on a reviting performance. Oddly enough, standing directly in front of Jeordie on the left hand side, I found him to be quite spellbinding in an unusual way that left me feeling all warm and fuzzy all over. I was surprised by the fact that I was able to stay so close to the front with my hand gripping the baricade, especially when a psychotic woman tried to scalp the girl standing next to me--just to take her spot. Other than that incident, the people I was around were rather friendly. I was more than satisfied with the set list, but I guess I am biased, due to the fact it was my first time seeing them live.

While we were being seated after soundcheck it was really cool to see Alessandro coaching Alex on the drum beat for "Even Deeper." He played it countless times, so I would probably expect to see that in the setlist soon--and possibly "Dead Souls" which sounded great. Unfortunately someone had to yell "Freebird!" during the soundcheck which was just unnecessary (Tao of the Idiot: there must never be silence--make sure you yell "Woo!" or "Reznor is God!" anytime there aren't lyrics). Anyway, my favorite was "The Collector." That kicked ass, I was the only one screaming the lyrics 'cause I'm an asshole, but I loved it. "The Line Begins To Blur" was amazing on all levels, and "March of the Pigs" was a lot better this time than it was at Hammerstein--I was ready for it I guess. "Only" was a little disapointing but I enjoyed it nonetheless. The glass shattering during "Beside You In Time" was amazing. I loved the behind the curtain performance of "Love Is Not Enough" with the pulsing strobes in the beginning. "You Know What You Are?" was another highlight, just great. "Terrible Lie" was flawless and I got a much better view of Aaron this time around, now I know what all the fuss is about firsthand.

As far as the show itself:
DFA and QOTSA were okay, but the energy just wasn't there. The crowd's response to them was piss poor also, so that may have been the problem.

NIN was outrageously energetic, the songs seem to be coming together well with Alex. And yes, for all you who like to spout shit about him, he is working hard. After soundcheck he spent a half an hour or more working with the drum tech on Even Deeper. He just needs time.

The highlights for me were a surprise, I thought there were other songs I'd want to hear more than Terrible Lie, but reallly, it owned. A lot of the older material sounded great, Gave Up, Burn.

The newer material also surprised me. I wasn't that keen on BYIT or RWIB even though I love them on the record. Love is not Enough sounded awesome, and that's probably my least fave track. Hearing The Collector was cool too. I'd rather hear that than Sin.

Don't know if anyone else noticed when Trent threw the mic stand toward the back of the stage and nearly hit Aaron who was walking right toward it. Aaron had to stop dead in his tracks not to get hit. And Trent really sent it flying.

And yes, someone's always got to fill up the silence, like the guy who yelled "Freebird" during soundcheck, and the stupid drunk cow right behind me who yelled "Trent, nice ass" in the middle of Hurt and then yelled "take your shirt off". She also kept a really good conversation going with her date during RWIB. Sheesh!

This was my second show on this tour, and there's not much I can say about NIN that hasn't already been said...it was flawless performance, from start to finish. Setlist flowed very well, energy was at a fever pitch.

The QOTSA performance was decent, but they played a strange set. Their set has changed so much at every performance this tour, you never really know what to expect. That having been said, the audience was really pretty pathetic. There were clearly very few Queens fans in the crowd, and the ones that were there seemed unable to get the rest of the sedate crowd to actually get into the music. Homme was pissed with good reason, I think. When he introduced Burn the Witch, i think he expected a reaction (which he did not receive), then even on fucking No One Knows, the crowd was just kinda oblivious. They closed the set with a tenth of the energy they started it with.

SOMEBODY PLEASE POST A TERRIBLE LIE VIDEO! That entire show was just...AMAZING.

wow... you people are awesome. thanks for all the cool videos and pictures. now i can relive it all over again!! i agree that terrible like and head like a hole were just incredible. burn was pretty great too. only and the collector sounded completely different from the album, i thought. which is neither necessarily good or bad, just different. i was slightly disappointed with right where it belongs, because i love that song. but it was cool just to hear it live. still, the old stuff seems to rule the show. i love trent reznor.

Yeah, I really need to clean house and get some more competent people on my crew. I thought that hiring a really tall, funny guy would be an effective way for people to locate me at shows, but I'm thinking maybe I should replace him with a hulking bald dude.

Yeah, I was at that show too, using the same party favors...and I was sober for this show....and on the floor!!! Let me first say that I love QOTSA, but their performance completely blew me away. DFA79 is just incredible, too. NIN was just as incredible as I remember, although seeing Mr. Self Destruct in '94 cannot be topped. All in all, an exceptional concert.

i made it through about 4 songs in the nin set at the front just off to the left of the center stage before having to drop back. i was feeling like i was going to pass out.
the show was great though, sorry im not priviledged enough to go to 5 shows in the same tour and bitch about how trent didnt hit all the notes on song whatever. i had a great time.

the show rocked - 1 small complaint. the annoying sing a long during hurt. I wish everyone woulda shut the F up. Last time I saw them(5 five years ago) it was dead silent when trent sang hurt. I was disappointed when I couln't hear trent above the crowd.

they were running protools off the mixing board and recording the show. don't know why, or if it was leaked, but i could see it from where i was sitting.

Hey guys, I was at the shw and loved it. Does anyone know what music was being played between the sets and after the concert? I got into aphex twin because I heard it at Fragility. I'd be happy to know who and what they were playing this time 'round.

the list was posted by trent on the spiral board, but i'm not getting it from there right now. i know there was some throbbing gristle, lcd soundsystem, and soft cell, that's all i remember off the top of my head.

Our good friend Rob got us backstage, who is friends with Alain, so that rocked. Got to meet Alex and he was very humble and nice. I think he's only 19. Incredible drummer. Trent walked by the room we were in but was headed for stage and looked like he was on a mission. Didn't see anyone else from the NIN camp.

Also got to hang out with Alain from QOTSA (the rest of the QOTSA guys were there too). I had no idea he was the same guy that fronted Eleven! So, that was amazing in itself. And we got to meet Natasha (also from Eleven).

Ah, that was our "Locate Drunkpoet and crew" post-gig entertainment for the evening. I actually saw a number of faces that I probably recognized from the board, but didn't really say hi to any of them, except Robin TMP, who then had to leave.

It's all good. It's easier to meet up with and say hi to people before the show than it is after the show.

Tell me about it--I kept looking for all you guys in NYC & Philly as well, but no luck, damn it. Sorry to have to run away in DC, but Justin (aka Superfan) and Anna were driving to NYC immediately, and my suitcase, etc. was still in her vehicle (they were kind enough to get me at the airport, bless their fuzzy little hearts). Amazing show, of course, although I'd still like to know who actually DID end up with the brownies, as it wasn't Trent, Rob, anyone else in the band, or Porkchop...

God the people in the pit sucked. They just stood there like mutes not even moving.

Great show. Fucking amazing. Can't believe I missed the soundcheck, so pissed about that, but that's what I get. (pun unintended) Yeah, the people in the pit didn't really seem that into the show. Most of the people in the seats around me ( I was in 102 ) did more than the people in the pit. But I digress. Loved the setlist, loved the show. DFA1979 was cool, especially since the drummer was singing. QOTSA was cool also, not a big fan myself but the show was cool. Go NIN.

I lost my "virNINity" at this concert. *blush*

I've waited a long time to see Trent & Co. live, and I can't say that I was disappointed. They played most of the songs I wanted to hear (I could have done without "The Collector" in favor of a song like "Sunspots" perhaps, but I'm not picky). I thought the band sounded great.

Personal highlights: When Trent played the keyboard mid-stage (I think it was during "The Frail") and with the backlighting, you could see the sweat dripping off his face. HOT. I'd LOVE to relive that moment on a live tour DVD sometime in the future.

In defense of those in the pit, where I was sandwiched like a sardine in a sea of Trent-worshippers, I saw plenty of fist-pumping and head-banging action going on. As I'm only 5'3" and on the fragile side (pun intended), I was kind of glad there wasn't more moshing going on. I was really impressed with the crowd: one guy, who nearly ran me over in his rush to get to the front when "Pinion" started playing, actually stopped to apologize! I spent most of the concert just trying to see over the heads, which necessitated standing on my boyfriend's feet for nearly two hours (bless his aching toes).

All in all, my concert experience rocked. I look forward to letting Trent have his way with my ears on many more occasions.

I was about 4-5 people back from the rail dead center on the floor. It was a constant battle to stay in one place, as everyone from the back tried to move forward. Luckily I had my big black, steel-toe boots on, no-body was moving them. To the person w/ the video of the water bottle fight w/ the keyboard going into the crowd--can you repost it? -----I was a casualty of the keyboard, nice slice taken out of my middle finger! I didn't even see it coming w/ all the people around me. I turned and my friend had the board in a bear hug!!! Of course, he couldn't go anywhere with it and we ended up w/ a couple keys from it!

Overall great show, saw them last in Baltimore '94. I will agree w/ most that DFA1979 was pretty much 30-40 minutes of the same song. Queens was cool, the crowd just wasn't into them.

It was a great time though, and I will look at the scar forming on my finger and remember it for a good long time!

The show was fucking incrdible! This was my first NIN concert... and my best concert ever... The playlist was nice but let's be honest havent we seen most of the songs elsewhere like uuummm let's see Closure oooorr And all that could have been DVD???? And its the same shit for every show! almost no viriaty. I've had the And all that could have been DVD for about 3 years now, i've had closure for a long time PLUS i have some bootleg Tapes of some of their performances from the past. i felt dissapointed after the show knowing in the back of my mind i had already seen most of the songs live in my TV, i'm not trying to whine too much about it i mean i'm glad i finally got to see NIN LIVE, but they should have played other songs that they wouldn't normally play every now and then... you know for the die hard fans like me. Gave Up was awesome and so was Suck (my GOD! did you guys see how aaron played that fucking guitar??!!), The hand that feeds wasn't so great. i was turned off when i heard THe ccollector being played come on now trent, anyone can play that fucking song man. let's face it the show needed MORE fragile songs indeed man. With wasn't a very good album and only a true NIN fan can tell you that... come on man there's a reason that da.mn cd didn't have a little booklet with the lyrics of the album and that reason is because Trent really write any more.... well, there is The Great Below that song has beutyful lyrics... i think a kindergarden wrote the lyrcis for With Teeth... I WAS SOOO pissed, no starfuckers???!!!! Head like a hole instead???!!! WHY??!!! They played that for NYC i think why not us! LOL. seriously i was pissed at that moment when they ended the show with that fucking song... >(

bottom line is... i fucking loved the show (do it and call me a hypocrite) i got a little drunk, did some pills, sang through each and every fucking song (i lost my voice for 2 days)

I realize I'm posting this verrrrrrrrry late, (hell, it was last year!) but I just recently joined the forum! Anyway, I had NO FUCKING IDEA that Nine Inch Nails was so tight, and I was impressed with the visuals.

My favorites were Eraser and The Line Begins To Blur. Eraser's visuals were absolutely p-e-r-f-e-c-t. I was completely absorbed and then blown away by the way those images attacked my eyes with the pounding, driving force of that song. With TLBTB, the red vein slowly extending across the stage was very creepy and cool-looking.

Awesome stuff. I only wish I could've seen them with Danny Lohner and Chris Vrenna. There's something special about seeing the original band. However, Trent is Trent.
