Isn't everybody talking about this at the Nine Inch Nails forum?

This thread is for the off chance that people actually attended the show. All other discussion should stay in the nin forum.

Head Like a Hole

All in all, an awesome show. It's great to see one of my five favorite drummers (Josh Freese) with one of of three favorite bands. I think I actually heard someone yell out that Josh Freese is a homo during Hurt. Whoever that guy is, is probably a homo. Josh is an amazing drummwe and person, and i hope he will continue to play with the band long after the With Teeth tour is complete.
I was there, pretty good seats too. I've bought tickets to three NIN shows on the with teeth tour, and for incredibly fucked reasons, couldn't make it to any of them.

So I was surprised when a friend called today with an extra ticket.

They kicked ass, Of course i would have liked a longer set, with screen et al, but this will hold me over nicely.

That synth breakdown in THTF kicks ass live! And the only time breakdon in closer actually works! I thought it would be annoying.

It was funny that they only played pinion for like 2 seconds before going into wish.

i doubt they played anything unplugged. Barely anyone unplugs

None of the songs were even close to acoustic. I watched the spiral webcast and everything was played as if it was a NIN headlining concert. I think Josh Freese is great and the band sounds much more tight with him compared to when Alex Carapetis was playing. But, if you read the transcribed convo from the spiral website from their Q&A, he could well be a homo. So, don't get down on that guy for calling it out during hurt, he might be right on the money!

Suck my balls, Ruthenium44. Hardly, if any, of the bands played anything remotely acoustic during their sets.

In the chat, Aaron stated that he gets excited watching Trent change clothes. Does that make him queer too?
I was there last night...awesome show. I had unbelievable luck and sat in the front row! I have a friend who buys A LOT of ad time on KROQ.

It wasn't quite as satisfying as their own shows since the set list stuck to the best known songs. I missed hearing "The Wretched" and "Suck" but thankfully they kept "Burn". Trent said "thank you" several times during the set, which seemed unusual. The band seemed to enjoy the show, but they are so damn hard to read.

I sat next to four 15-year old boys who thought NIN were just some old 90's band. They were there for SOAD and Korn. However, they were total converts by the end of show. It was weird to talk to them...they were born after PHM was released and I realized that I was old enough to be their mother. yuck

Someone reported on another board hearing someone screaming at Josh during "Hurt" I didn't hear anything like that. Lots of people yelled "you suck!" while Fall Out Boy were playing, though. The played a Killers song between bands and were mightily booed.
I was there and in the PIT...first time EVER seeing NIN and I have to say they were AMAZING! From start to finish fukin awesome..At the end of their set the lights were dark and I got hit in the eye by something...Turns out it was Josh Freese's drumstick he was using..when i looked down i had caught it between my arm and stomach..that is a souviner..

I was at the show, and NIN was great. The band was very lively, and was probably very happy to be "home."

I was a little disappointed with the audience. It was a heavy Korn and System of a Down fanbase, and the reaction to NIN was not as strong as I expected it to be. Of course they sang along to Hurt, Closer and The Hand That Feeds, but they were dead durring songs like Burn, Starfuckers and Gave Up.

Overall very good show, and considering that I live only 5 min. from the venue, it was definitely worth it!

Awesome show, I had seats in the lower level like 3 rows from the back. 1/2 way through Korn we walked all the way down to the front - 11th row Center and saw the rest of the show from there. Awesome seats, I dunno whose they were but thanks anyway. NIN kicked ass, seemed like all the Headliners were trying to outdo eachother. I thought the crowd was great considering the kind of show it was. Most of the acts seemed pretty happy with what the crowd was giving them. My ears are done for a few days.
Master Traveler
I made it to the show, the crowd was very subdued for NIN and that was pretty sad because they were on fire. Compared to their sleep walking through the show in Santa Cruz earlier this week it was like a different band. Good times!

Hey Phunky,

Can you do me a favor? Can you go phuck yourself you phucking dickhead. No, I do not sound like a person who is a homophobe. I am merely making a statement, which most would probably agree with to be true.

My girlfriend surprised me with tickets on Friday - great seats in the Loge section.

I had never seen NIN and waited literally YEARS for them to tour again and now I've seen them 3 times in the last 3 months and twice in ONE WEEK.

Saturday was a great show - they played it like one of these stupid radio shows should be played - fast, hard, and mostly singles. They were the only band of the day that actually put a "show" together - well rehearsed, great sound, tight, used their own lighting, etc. They made everyone else look like amateurs with the possible exception of System of a Down who was great in their own right but in a very different way.

Great show but I'm still not satiated - hope to see them again soon.

-Jeremy
I went, I had seats, but a good view. It was a SICK, awesome concert. I was SO disappointed about it being "acoustic". The whole night (5:10 to 10:51) only 3 acoustic songs were played. It is a toss up between which show, this one or Nov. 20th at Cox Arena, was better.

Some asshat did scream "Josh Freese is gay!" and a little later "Josh Freese is a homo!" during the performance of Hurt.

Move from Toronto, firstly. Then take a shower in gasoline to destroy the evidence and yourself.

But before the shower, sandblast your genital area that was violated for a more effective rape treatment.

I was right in front of Jeordie the whole night, there is something about his venue that makes him, jump around like a madman, when he played here with MM on 01 he was runing around throwing beers and picks unusual on him, when APC played here on 04 I think he was very very active as well, in this show we made eye contact several times, this may be silly but I have been in many shows right in front of him (big fan of his) overall the hsow was awesome it blew the Bowl show IMO. By the way on the webcast did you guys see Aaron jumping into the PIT? it was crazy, and it was surreal having Trent singing Hurt right in front of me, so I was right there where he had his keyboard during Hurt. The crowd was more excited for SOAD which I noticed has some very big assholes as fans, I though Metallica fans were idiots (some of them) but SOAD fans beat them easily, I left when they were into their 5 song they bored me...
The show was great, we flew in from Chicago. Amazing, and to the person that said they sound better with Josh I agree. I have no complaints against Alex he did a good job in Chicago I thought. i was there to simply see a favorite band and not rate them.

OH....Aaron is gay. He has stated it on one or more occassion. There is an interview around out there where he talks about it a bit. He could be joking though. Afterall he is Buddyhead.
Ha ha that is hysterical. Very funny. Watch you are Aaron North! ha ha.

Check this out, like I said, he could be screwing around but I have read this on so many occasions with this guy. He could just be wishing it.
