(no Spiral soundcheck/m&g but yes, Josh Freese on drums again...
...looks to be official. Same setlist as last night in Santa Cruz, almost positive.)

I'm sorry, I'm not one to post such a short summary on the first night. This is such a briefing... this show, was by far the best out of every one I've gone to. REAL digital camera pics/videos this time, watter bottles, and the grand finale 1) Aaron threw his mic stand at my side of the crowd, I held onto it for a little while and 2) Aaron stage-dived on top of me, literally. I took his odor home with me. Pictures/videos coming soon. Front row, the whole time, parallel to Aaron or a little to the left. I'm so dry on the inside, I need a bladder buster size Coke or something, fast. Thank you Trent & San Luis combined, so worth the trip... beyond worth it. I can tell you right now, Trent was very pleased with this crowd. "[smiling] well this is the weirdest place we've ever played at..." or something, but very pleased, I'll tell you that. INCREDIBLE SHOW. Do you understand me? Incredible...
...much more later! Maybe when my ears stop their ringing.

PS, fellow Spirals at this show were great...
...thank you for the good and memorable times. More (pictures) to come on that, too.

EDIT: I totally saw Tangent up on that side taking cell pictures, that's awesome...
...Intimate venue is right, THE PLACE WAS A FLIPPIN' GYM FOR GOD'S SAKE, JUST LOOK!

my first show and the most amazing show as well!

highlights:

jeordie playing bass with the bottom of the mic stand towards the end

aaron doing crazy flips with his guitar

JOSH FREESE! JOSH FREESE! JOSH FREESE!

Alessandro's eyeliner, you could see it on the moon

trent quotes:

"This is the wierdest place we've been"

"i was just about to fire my booking agent but you guys are great"

"this is our new drummer Josh Freese, so we're gonna play this gay disco song"

people didn't seem very receptive towards Autolux, but i liked them, the drummer girl was awsome!

there was this crazy short guy with curly hair going around saying he was hyperglycemic just to get closer

12 year old kid being tossed around

jeordie and trent pouring water directly on me

oh and getting groped by a 7 foot guy with a boner is also a bonus

being less than 10 feet away from my favorite band

everybody singing along to hurt

my friend getting one of JF's drumsticks

i can't think what else to say i'm destroyed soaking and my eyeliner is all over my face but i'll post later when i think of more but it was kinda wierd being like the only platinum blonde there (this explains my spelling)

I'M SO GLAD THEY CAME TO MY WHITE TRASH COMMUNITY!

i used a disposible camera but my friend steph used her camera phone

Cool stuff Freak. I actually lost my disposable (which I bought just in case they didn't allow digitals, but did they ever!) after I had my cousin take the whole roll of that... must've gotten shuffled on the other side of the rail during the set, no biggy though - both pictures and videos I got, both finesse for being under a lot of crazy conditions. Videos! I got an incredible one of Love Is Not Enough, opening stuff, just how I like it, a very large chunk of that song. Second video, little less than the first, but of The Wretched. Expect this hopefully soon people...
...LINE, especially. I'm gonna go upload it on the other comp here now actually, see how she looks on a bigger screen. And totally random, my whole right rib cage is completely swollen, as well as my right hip...
...it was a very tight crowd up there, that's for sure.
Master of the Ninth Arch
That show was the shit. I think the intensity totally rivaled the Oakland show I was just at. The crowd was really into it and Trent and Co. definitely fed off that energy. Josh added so much more to those songs...extra fills and beating the skins to death made the music so much better. Killer setlist (can't remember all of it at the moment) and overall kickass show. This was such a great event to have during finals week...definitely excited and destroyed me, relieving my stress from taking two finals yesterday...

Who caught Aaron's pick when he stage-dived into the crowd during Head Like A Hole? Me.

Image

Probably the best NIN show I went to this year (out of 4: Fresno, Davis, Oakland, SLO) and the best musical act ever to come through SLO.

I took over 100 pics but I sorted them out to the top 10: here's a fine example...

Rest can be found here:

I also met Eugene from Autolux after the show. Cool guy...very conversational and polite. They had a great set too.

Good pics pushing. You were by my side too, huh? Aaron's side. Has he ever stage-dived before like that? I mean at all? It was totally unexpected... I was in the middle of deleting a picture since I saw a nice lighting on him at the time. Then, seeing him standing closer to the edge, something came right at me so I quickly reacted and grabbed it while the mic was dropped a 'row' behind me on the ground, where then security guard sorta yanked it out of there. Following this, there went Aaron over the edge. I couldn't believe it was about to happen/happening, angry Aaron just laying on top of us...

...it may not be the best to scatter my posts, but I'm anxious. Go easy on these.

Love Is Not Enough: http://s5.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0RV99 ... YX8HR6CESJ

If I had more memory, it would've carried the whole way... but well, what do ya think!? Sound quality? For any of you who are interested in this curtainless opening song, there it is... I loved it. Not that it matters really, but that song in particular should've at least had the curtain raised at the part "For you to go and take this...", or something. The chorus would be too expected and wouldn't flow well with the rhythm on the chorus. You can probably hear my voice somewhere in there, along with many more around me getting as nutty as I was.

The Wretched, up next...

...I'm actually a little embarassed to post it, once it's done, since I got smacked in the head pretty hard by a crowd surfer on his way towards me as I was taping. Bah, you'll see what I mean, and laugh.

Yeah, beneaththeice, we will not tolerate that kind of homophobia on this board. I'm giving you a warning for that. As for everyone else, if you weren't at the show, then shut the fuck up and get out of this thread.

Clocksrun wrote:Good pics pushing. You were by my side too, huh? Aaron's side. Has he ever stage-dived before like that? I mean at all? It was totally unexpected...
I heard he did it at like one other show...but seriously, that's like a rare occurrence. He must have really been enjoying the intensity of the crowd. I was actually all over the place, as you can see in the pics. At times I was at the back of the floor near the soundboard, or in the middle of the whole crowd...or right below the right speaker.
Clocksrun wrote:Not that it matters really, but that song in particular should've at least had the curtain raised at the part "For you to go and take this...", or something.
I honestly think to compensate for no curtain, they just increased the fog output like 10x the normal amount. It kinda looked like they had a curtain around them when they started LINE that slowly dissipated as the song played on.

If you saw a big huge blonde girl at the back of the venue that was crying and looked extremely aggro - that was me.

I got fucked out of the barricade for this show and barely made it in time to catch The Line Begins To Blur. Following ninfarley to San Luis after the Santa Cruz show we missed the 101 and had to take the 1 the whole way - BAD IDEA. She hit a fucking boulder in the middle of nowhere and sliced her fucking tire. Spent the entire next day getting her car straightened out, therefore making it impossible to do barricade - almost missed the entire show. Ugh. Sucks cause this was the last date of the tour for all of us girls to do the barricade together since we arent doing Reno. :(

Show itself was okay - crowd seemed almost as bad as Fresno. Idiots everywhere. TONS of bro's - which I suppose is to be expected on a college campus but whatevz. Trent had a lot of energy and seemed to be loving the rowdy crowd. Josh is amazing. As I was discussing with ninfarley yesterday - the songs sound much fuller now.

Didnt get to really hang out with anyone last night - maybe next time. :)
Bricklayer
I had never seen NIN in a small venue before - my only show before this was the Hollywood Bowl.

I think the audience was fantastic - tons of energy, but they also knew when to calm down and pay some attention. Surprisingly minimal crowd-surfers (one of my least favorite parts of any show) but of those that did, about 20% or so seemed to be a bit on the heavy side. My request to anyone at any concert - if you weigh well over 200 lbs, don't crowdsurf, you're going to hurt someone.

I fluctuated from the middle of the crowd to about 5 feet from the barrier. Great sound everywhere, could hear every instrument and vocals clearly.

The venue was strange but fun - it reminded me of going to see local shows in high school. The band looked like they were having a lot of fun and so did the crowd. Excellent show - well worth the drive.

Hmm, and you were who at the show again? You think I liked smelling even more like someone else's stench? Shut your clam hole already, you seem to have understood nothing of what I just said. Good God, that or you're a big time bandwagoner on the Jerome thing - did I mention his name once in here until you? Drop it like glass and get on out.

Yeah, you're about right on that fog level. You can see how much there was in the video I posted. They were lighting so much insense before the show (which I never saw them actually doing, but could always smell something) began along with a slight fog blowing at you.
Aaron about slipped when the guards finally grabbed him down from there since it was so wet past the rail. I have a pic of him leaving the trench up there, but nothing else, I was trying so hard to get a shot of him while he was on top. Everyone was trying to grab the guitar from what I understand, to maybe rip off something. Once again, I can't remember since I had his boot and leg on my head. Definitely on the lighter side compared to most crowd surfers at this show though.

I'd say you're right Freak. Not by much, but probably one of the shorter setlists out of the shows I've gone to, and a setlist I sort of expected from the previous night, but without a doubt the best show out of the past 4 for me.
Master of the Ninth Arch
Quick Question... Are they NOT doing the screens/projections anymore? I noticed a lack of BYIT, and RWIB on the setlist.

syndicate wrote:Quick Question... Are they NOT doing the screens/projections anymore? I noticed a lack of BYIT, and RWIB on the setlist.
I believe this is due to the venue size. Last night was essentially a "club" style show and the stage was about half the size of the arena show.

It was such an amazing show last night. So INTIMATE and INTENSE. I couldn't hold my own in the pit :(. Adam, you're such an all around nice guy. Yaoi, thanks for offering to come and hang out in your room last night. Did THEY show up? Trent was in such a good mood, smiling a lot and extra extra chatty (Im not complaining). Josh Freese was excellent. Jeordie Alessandro, and Aaron were spectacular as always. Autolux rocked!!! (stupid people yelling "you suck"). By far, THIS show has been the best show I've seen. Can't wait to see them again.
cool show.... right. got infront right in front on the rail infront of trent. got the mic, during suck, got a waterbottle trent thre me, got moisted with trents between the legs water bottle action. got a pick, got the autolux's lead singers auto. ofcourse this after the fact the clocksrun had like 8 fucking people cut in line right in front of us, after he said he had only one friend coming, clocksrun YOU SUCK!!!!!!!!!! show was awesome clocksrun is a bitch. next time asshole.

Got to meet Trent. Roadie hooked us up. Saw me and my buddy standing out back all day. So after the soudcheck we were the only two out there.he told us to stay put and He brought out Trent. Chatted for about 5 min. Got my san Diego litho signe d and a pic w/ trent. Totally a nice guy. Worth waiting for 7+ hours.

This show was great, one of the best I have seen. I liked the fact Trent had so much to say. Great crowd, high energy. Met a few new people, more energy tonight compaired to Santa Cruz. I swear Auto Lux was stoned outta their mind last night, because they sounded way better here.

Overall one of the best shows....

I hurt all over, but it's a good kind of hurt. True pain was not having the great big guy in front of me jump up and down on my feet, however, but rather getting up to go straight to work and prepare reports this morning. Suffice to say, it was well worth it- I wonder if I will ever again see NIN play in the equivalent of a high school gymnasium (and a small one at that)? It was a great show- no, it was a fucking great show. I could not talk afterwards, but that was okay, because I couldn't hear, either. One small highlight was halfway through Hurt, when the guy right over my shoulder shouted, in a Terence & Philip voice, "We love you, Trent Reznor!" I stopped singing along for a few seconds and just lost it.

I need to find, however, the blonde girl I met while NIN was on who found a cell phone on the floor. Turns out, it was my friend's. If you are out there, blonde girl, let me know!

Allow me to paste my Spiral PM to you (which I wrote before reading this):

...I'd like to apologize to you and your friend(s) about the whole line situation yesterday. It may've seemed like I planned that but I did not - even if I put them infront of me and not infront of you guys (behind me), it would've amounted up to the same people at our front end of the line. Anyway, I also just wanted to tell him mainly sorry that I wasn't really considerate when he came to up to me when we got our tickets from Brandi, only because I was in the middle of asking her a few questions and had no explanation to give up, I had no control over it all. They all just came in as I was out and about taking pictures, along with A LOT of others if you recall, who I didn't feel like complaining about, so we all got 'screwed' in a way. No hard feelings, the show was the best yet for me without a doubt, that's what should matter most. Later...

If it bothered you (all) so much, why wouldn't you speak out to and against them right then and there? Why me? How was I all of the sudden the person who organized the line? One point I should make though, whether saving a spot in line is considered right or wrong, I arrived at the place (like I SAID in person to you) some minutes before you did, WITH a Spiral member (one who showed up later on, who probably felt that I was saving her the spot. But little did I know, she would be coming back so much later.), so that would end up being her spot, technically. I guess I'm sorry for that, my mind races when I'm in a situation like that, waiting for a damn show that I flew way out of the way for, and I hate being a negotiator when it's not actually my deal, and it wasn't - I knew them just as much as I knew you guys before they arrived. You had a bundle of friends, I had strangers, cool... I know!

Above all though, I was stressing over the fact that I had a cousin coming to the show who was showing up late from work, NOT other people's places in line. Which yes, I know I said I only had one more coming, but keep in mind they were the ones who went right in line themselves (see to message where the hell I was), not me saying "hey, hop right in guys" and welcoming in the spot. Once again, this would've all been different from your perspective if I had let them infront of me, and not infront of you...
...you know that.

Next time asshole

After you got front row anyway, and infront of Trent even, you really think that's necessary to say? I even told your friend with the PHM shirt on (beneathetheice, I'm assuming?) after he approached me while tending to the tickets with Brandi, I'd save you guys a spot up front to make up for it, but I wasn't going to be a complete dick about it all and cause a scene to everyone and tell the people to go to the end of
the line. Keep in mind also (again), I was being screwed over by some people who cut infront of me. Did you care to notice that much? Or do you not get what I'm saying?

Anyway, you guys need to pipe down here whereas you should not have done there at the venue, so we could've at least sorted something out if it really was going to affect your place on the floor at the show itself, which I had a feeling it was not going to, and it did not, so that's why I'll admit, even if I felt bad, I wasn't flipping out and wasn't about to have a cow over it.

And by the way, it was 4 people (2 Spiral members & 2 companions), 8 if you want to include the folks that went infront of me, happy? IF it had been any more than that I more than likely would be one to say something. But seriously, if you think you have the full right to get pissed off at me, do it properly here...
...that's all I ask, don't go overboard.

Edit: This was all sorted out later on in Spiral world. Sorry, show's over... go home people.

Thanks Anjel. And sorry I didn't respond to your first post, you were very nice yourself! You weren't hard to miss as soon as I got my eyes looking towards the end of the line (at the time), you looked just how you described you would, haha. I wish I had a picture of you from all the ones I'm looking at right now, one taken by me of course, but maybe I do... and I'm not looking close enough yet. We'll see soon enough here as soon as I'm done resizing.

so for you people in the spiral line.. bare with me.. as I am going to type the whole story here again.. oh.. and by the way... HI! I wasn't there in line with you.. well.. I was from 3:30am - 9:30am... hahaha but after that.. I was back by the buses.. so here goes...

Left OC at 12:30am... arrived in SLO at 3:30am... threw the sleeping bag out.. and caught some shut eye until 4.. then RIOT walked up!! haha! peeked over.. waved and sat down next to me.. Leilani was in the car.. too cold for her.. FREEZING!!! skip ahead to 9:30am.. I’m eating a breakfast burrito at the café down the street when the crew buses pull into town.. so I finish and make my way over to the buses.. and basically am back there until we get let in for the show.. So I’m standing there.. and standing there.. And standing there.. skip ahead to Boone! he shows up at.. 1ish?! am I right? no concept of time here people.. like I said.. I was there at 3:30am.. 8 in the morning felt like 6 pm to me.. so he has the cancelled San Diego litho.. I have my warm up show Fresno litho.. hoping to meet tr.. blah blah blah.. skip ahead to 5... security guards say NIN bus is 10 min away.. oh yea.. I wanted to make mention.. I have been to a lot of concerts in my day.. but the security guards that were on duty around the buses.. THE BEST EVER.. NO ASSHOLES WHATSOEVER!!! they gave us updates... they let us get as close as we wanted.. chatted and kept us company.. so here comes NIN bus.. and by then it was me, Boone, SARAH!!!!!! and then a few mother fuckers that think they can just walk right up and get a pic or autograph without waiting all day.. OH HELL NO!! and you fuckers ruined it for yourself.. good.. I am glad NIN walked right in.. It's all about dedication!! So the bus parks, they all get out.. and give us the.. wait one minute finger.. including Trent... and then what happened.. all you fucks.. excluding SARAH! walked away and back into your line and went boo hoo!! so like Boone mentioned.. they played suck, sin, and deep.. not more than 5 minutes after sound check ended.. my savior walked out.. no.. not Trent yet.. The crew member of the year.. and like I said.. spiral people bare with me.. I said the story already a few times.. he walks out to me.. it's just me standing out there now.. He stands next to me.. Total CIA move... he’s not looking at me.. and says... "you here alone?" I say, "excuse me? you talking to me?" he says, "yes, you here alone?" I say, "well my buddy Boone is over there?" which then I turn and wave him over here.. crew guy says, "stay right here, do not say anything!!" so I do as I am told.. he walks back in.. and a minute later, he walks back out with TRENT.. He extends his hand, says very nice to meet you.. to me and Boone.. signs our lithos... we ask for a pic.. he says sure.. small talk some more.. shakes our hands again.. says.. damn your hands are cold.. I say.. well.. I've been here since 3:30am!! he says go on inside! smiles.. and walks back in.. FUCKING A... CREW GUY!! can't thank you enough for taking care of me... TRENT.. THANK YOU!! VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!!!!!!!! yes I look dorky in my pic.. but A. I am cold.. and B. FUCK YOU! I MET TRENT!!! haha.. and anyone else who has, knows what I am talking about too! oh yes.. the big FU excludes Sarah.. she just had a momentary lapse of judgement and walked back to the spiral line! HAHAHA! just teasing!! Sarah WAS SO FUCKING nice and I appreciated the pizza and all the offers for drinks! so cool and can't wait to meet up at a show again.. INSTANT MESSAGE ME.. ENVISION714 everything that needs to be said about the show has been.. got home at 4 am.. and into work at 8 am.. haha.. so I am gonna go crash now.. enjoy!
Master Traveler

What part of the floor were you located at?
I started out rightish, moved to the center, ended up back rightish again at the end of the night (rightish as in Aaron's side of the stage). I moved away from the center after too many tall people kept getting directly in front of me, making me wish (for the bazillionth time) that I was graceful enough to wear heels in the crowd, or naturally about 5 inches taller. I kept the pit at my back at all times, which sometimes worked for me and sometimes meant my back was steadily under assault. It didn't really go bad until someone puked, creating a ripe little slip-n-slide area.
And I just read this a few posts up- I don't remember the crowd being particularly bad to Autolux (as in the "you suck" crap), although all in all, they were not very energetic when they were on. If you were outside talking to the smokers directly after their set though, the consensus seemed fairly positive.
Bricklayer
this pit was absolutely insane. the same crowd surfer kicked me in the head three separate times, so i wound up punching him in the balls. in terms of energy, the crowd was so into it and that fed the band. i got some really good footage that i will upload when i get home, which i will share with all of you. it includes trent calling only a "gay disco song." the spiral line was the most organized of the three club dates... and despite some minor upset inside, i got my spot on the rail. i never know what to say on these things so i'll go away and come back when i have video for y'all.

Note: lengthy crappy post ahead.

(in no order) I'd like to openly thank The Spiral, the many Spirals I met, my cousin and his-my family for having me stay for such an(other) obssessing event of mine AND a visit, American Airlines, and Trent Reznor... for giving the o-k for such a place to play at: A GYM! I lived once more with this whole trip and show experience, thank you all, you know who you are.

Woke up at 7:30 a.m. sharp and arrived at the Cal Poly Rec at 9 on the dot, according to a fellow Spiral member. I was being droven by my cousin and the son (cousin's boyfriend) of a guy who actually works at the place, so he was telling us by phone on the way there from Paso Robles where to go/what it looked like, and that there were already "some" in line, from what he could see. So, there I got a little freaked out, but how many can be there to affect a rail spot at 8 in the morning? Not too many...

Image

...there they were, mingle-worthy. Great Spiral spirit, they had.

4 ^ The college kids passing by us every now and then were fun to have walked past this line full of color with the many looks on their faces. That guy up above was worthy of a photo exception because of the dog, I guess. (Much later on there were surfer boy triplets passing by us, that was trippy to see, ha ha...)

Good weather for line-waiting purposes.

So after introduction, I understood that some of the ladies (a few not pictured) had been there as early as 3, quite cool! I was eye-browed.

Early shot of the line

Drum tech, Jeremy B, comes out with another sound crew guy and take a stroll.

Time passes, out of that same door Jeremy came out of, I think it was freshoily who circled around a bit at this point and found a peep hole thru the glass where we could sort of see the stage being set up, pretty clearly actually. Here we go...

Stage 1

Stage 2

Stage 3

After checking that out, and after the excitement of just how small of a show this was going to be passed on, a lot of random picture taking followed:

Art from the artist...
...a real riot she was! Haha, I'll call her podium position of the line.

Spiral Pride

Some more of that

"other" venue shot

The line begins to grow...

and grow...

and grow.......

and grow.........

and grow.............

Mingling multiplies with the line...
...a Spiral brings out the card at last, which was discussed doing beforehand. My name's scribbled on there somewhere, that was probably only the larger portion of signatures as "Yaoi" was holding it open. Good stuff, but I have no idea what ever ended up happening to it or whose hands it got left in. Hopefully Trent's? Brandi's, at least? All possible, SUCH an easy access show to the members and so on...

...speaking of Brandi, she arrived at I'd say a little past 3:00? Roughly. Telling us that we were all parked in the wrong spot, that this was the regular line, or whatever, but we'd get our tickets right there by the bike rack and be moved on over to the other side, the emergency exits... closer to the back of the place pretty much. By the semis.

The new line

Feels good to be premium.., I don't think there was any Standard forming on the left side, unless that was just because I didn't see them at the back of the line and they didn't see the sign until they got up there.

Time passes, weather turns breezy. A dad and son of The Spiral order a pizza, for the whole Spiral! Really nice of him, that was much needed. I should've thanked that guy way up top.

Le vista...

Hi Trent... or whoever was in the tour bus that passed 2 hours before we got let in. Apparently (most of?) the band was staying at the Madonna Inn, and must've loved it to not want to get to the venue until later...

...about 6:15 p.m. we get let in. Ticket & security check.

In the latest line, where it's warm.

Many minutes (or so it seemed) passed... went by pretty slow, but eventually with the lots of security guards scrimaging around, we knew it was time. 3-file line.

Autolux - loved them this time even more than in Cleveland for some reason, they seemed to enjoy it too, and it was their last show (with NIN)! People seem to forget that, I know I did. Apart from the "You fucking suck" in the stands after the opening song, Capital Kind Of Strain, which was soon followed by a sarcastic thank you into the mic by our favorite female drummer, it was a solid performance, at ease.

...Rob shows, mini m&g, I'll call it. While we were waiting, and as the NIN tools were uncovered, I noticed the DW kit right away, so I was sure that was Josh's. Good sign, you know?

9:00 sharp? If not, pretty damn close.

Nine Inch Nails

Pinion - always puts me in a dream-like state, but really... I could not believe I was a) about to see them for the 4th time this year, all with the spark of one May show making me crazy enough to want to go this far and b) about to see them in this small of a place, I mean... come on, big band versus a gymnasium? Amazing. I didn't see Trent for quite a while while the intro was going at us, he had to've been back behind the curtain 'cause I didn't see him (thru the masses of fog) come up the stairs off to the side as Josh, Aaron, Jeordie and Aless did.

Love Is Not Enough (see to page 1 for video file) - incredible.

You Know What You Are? - AHH, at last... I got to experience that song. Took me a while, but I got it down. Such a thrilling moment in the crowd. It's becoming more of a song to me than it was before, just from the live atmosphere and moment. Josh showed his endurance here, even though I think I saw a double-bass pedal being used? I sure heard later on in fills. Surprisingly(for me), I wasn't paying attention at all to Josh, that's a good thing. There, I said it.

Terrible Lie - always a must, and this time it was on fire I must say... Trent was already having fun by this time, even though that song isn't joking around ever. Not in this song, but before I forget to mention: he spoke a lot throughout this whole show, more than any other I went to. Aaron did his on-time foot stomp thing, good to know he hasn't broken his heel by now.

The Line Begins To Blur - gave burn215 a call during this one, her favorite. Held the phone up high, haha... such a great song live now, I'll tell ya. A lot of lovers I noticed on the frontline for this one.

March of The Pigs - great stuff, Josh ignited it, well done. Crowd-surfers galore... is somebody on top of me!! haha, wrong song... but that's what I'm actually saying, without question.

Something I Can Never Have - Lighters / cellphones up.

First shots of NIN came with this song, enough to pull out the new memory card after Autolux/recording a LINE video already. Keep in mind that throughout the whole picture gallery here, there will be some blurry, some excellent. See:

Distracted by the song...

The Frail - the piano was set up without me noticing, where Trent sort of moved backward and plopped his hands on the thing and played some transitional notes, you could call them. I have a cellphone picture of this blue moment, but not in the mood to get that right now. This is my favorite combo of a song live... so I also did not take many pictures of...

The Wretched - I was too busy getting into it. And so were THEY... watter all over my face/camera at the end of the solo where he grabbed onto Aaron's back, that was great, I was laughing like crazy. The video taken for this by me is on page 1 also.

Closer - Nice, nice...

Image

Aaron & Josh

Burn - What can I say? It was great, even if I'm getting a little tired of the song, and I thought Trent would be too, since those yells are so high and hard on him, I'm sure, but he pulled them off pretty well this time compared to others I saw.

Aaron

Gave Up - After the first chorus, which I enjoyed, I was receiving a lot of crowd-surf activity from behind on this one. Great song, who can go wrong...

Eraser - during THIS song, being a rather chill moment, you could describe it as, there was some rather huge guy behind me and to my left a little... I couldn't make out what he was complaining about to the security guards, but from what I understood... he was whining about being pushed so far up by the crowd, and didn't want to be? "I payed for my seat back there" (???), "Listen!! It's a fucking concert" He threatened the security face-to-face "I'm gonna fucking break your neck". They were really yelling... but basically saying he wanted to have some people back behind him pulled out to get out of his way? Not for their safety, or anything. It was really weird, I just moved aside as best as I could since it seemed like all the security guards were right infront of me wanting to yank him out, but they just sort of let him be. That big guy had problems. Anyway, the experience was erased, so I called my friend again and had her listen to that song, for what was left of it.

Wish - yep, yep... nicely said, nicely done. During the choruses though, the light show (which is always the same for this song) seemed like it didn't get bright enough with the lights which pan? Just my take, and after seeing Trent's face during the first chorus, I just guessed that there was a little problem. Who knows, maybe the strobes for the verses had me thinking different. Great song. Josh, kudos.

Only - Was good. I'm trying to pinpoint the light show...

...oh, yeah

Deep - This song (or after Only, I should say), is where he made the remark about how a lot of us went to Santa Cruz and will be attending Reno tomorrow night, blah blah blah, how weird it was to see the same faces (?), something something something, and ended it with something along the lines of hearing the same setlist again(?), laughed and said "I'm gonna shut the fuck up now". I thought he was going to kick in Reptile by the sounds of it at first...

(...I'm really unsure of where most of the rest of these would go according to the set. Few per song from here on...)

Trent & Aaron

Bit of Trent, Aaron and bit of Josh.

Good shot of Jeordie, Trent and Aaron

Suck - Great to hear/yell along to again, I always seem to forget about this song even though it's one of my many favorites live.

Trent & Aaron II

Aaron running around

Hurt - Perfect. This was a show where I could truly hear the crowd almost overpowering Trent on the chorus.

Image

In between this, the crowd sort of shifted even for a slow song... but that was probably their best bet to try to reach the front, which one did right beside me. I didn't mind, as long as I was staying lined up with all my stuff I left on the rail, parallel to the drums pretty much.

The Hand That Feeds - He kicked it off with his little salute thing, which was funny to actually see away from a live dvd I have laying around at home.

Trent & Aaron III

Trent & Aaron IIII

Starfuckers, Inc. - First time hearing this, a real fun time going at the verses, as I expected, my favorite part of the song... but cool to finally hear and experience for myself, and not thru my television.

Aaron & Josh again

Head Like A Hole - on fire...

Trent & Aaron IIIIIIIIIIII

...everything about it. Water being thrown everywhere, just nuts on stage and on floor. I had one final picture left to take after I deleted a crappy one from songs before (running out of memory by now), so I knew I had to leave it for something happening at the ending, always a destructive moment. So in the middle of looking down at my camera, towards the finale of the song I'd say, I saw this skinny black thing coming right at me from above. No, it wasn't Aaron just yet, but his mic stand. A definitely slow-motion type feeling, since I couldn't believe that was happening, that he'd throw the whole thing, which sucked because I wasn't ready at all... the mic went on the floor a little past me, who was holding the stand before a security guard came by and ripped both things out of the crowd quick. Little did he know, Aaron wasn't done... there he goes, right on top of us.

This is him leaving the scene of the stage-dive.

After the song, I don't know if anyone else noticed but (probably due to Aaron "leaving" for a nice chunk of the song) everyone started getting so much crazier up there, including Alessandro throwing a keyboard at the drums, then Trent throwing a mic stand at the drums. Stuff like that!

In my world, the best show of 2005.

good show but i have only one complaint. There were these three girls behind me during Autolux who was driving me nuts. Kept booing the band during their set and were being completely rude. Finally, when they were finished and the lead singer came back out on stage, one of the girls made the comment of "oh yah, he is so totally a fag" (or something to that degree) and i snapped. I quickly turned around and asked "So what if he is a fag? Do you have a problem with that?" Needless to say she didnt like someone talking to her that way and got all defensive. *ugh* If you plan on coming to a show and you end up not liking a opening act, then keep it to yourself. No one cares to hear your shitty comments on everything and i could care less when its "4:20" in Amsterdam. (they all had their cell phones set to go off at 7:20 PST which i guess makes it 4:20 over there. When they went off, they yelled "Its 4:20 in Amsterdam!") *ugh*

Other then that it was a good show. :) Talk about an odd venue to see nails in

7:20 p.m. California time is not 4:20 in Amsterdam -- speaking as someone who lived in Amsterdam for three months. Stupid bitches.

actually, the stoners did their time math right... but then again it's always "4:20" in amsterdam!

this cal poly rec center show was really great. definitely one of the best shows this year. the layout of the place was ridiculous and the crowd had good energy. the band was tight. so glad josh is in the band now. he was even better than he was in santa cruz, especially on wish. he adds a force to nin that wasn't there before. did anybody catch jeordie killing his tele in the middle of head like a hole? he had to get a les paul to finish the song. awesome show.

Clocksrun - I didn't see any members from the board. Next Time.

Unfortunately I was in front of the guy who kept yelling "You Suck" at Autolux.

Long Story Short [Late Post] - Awesome Concert.

Well I am posting rather late in the game largely because I had rearranged my finals at school to make it to this show I felt I had to because it was the greatest show I've ever been to. I had adreneline running through me for hours afterwards. Trent's chattiness the rich and full drumming of Frees being 3 inches away from grabbing the guitar Jeordie broke (damn security swoopin' in). It was all just enhanced by the oddity of the venue too. I also wanted to give a rousing round of applause to the guy who bought pizza for the Spiral line...you rock dude for feeding us and for taking your 13 year old son out of school to see this awsomeness in person. After being in the 4 pre show lines this one was by far the most fun to hang out in so to all the peeps in the SLO Spiral line...you made the wait go by effortlessly. Who knew that SLO could rock quite so hard?

P.S.--SLO transit funniest name for a public transit service...ever.
That was the best show I've ever been too!!!!! Didn't get any pics, but that's ok. Trent's got more energy these days than some 20 somethings!!!!! And looking mighty hot all ripped, sober and buzzed!!! Now if we could only get NIN and Linkin Park together. Thanks again to NIN for playing SLO town!!!!!

Seriously, I've been scouring the net for a bootleg from this show ever since it was over. Hopefully it can get done in a timely manner...I would definitely appreciate it!

It exists, it just isn't being publicly traded.
Master Traveler
will it ever be publicly traded? and what's keeping it from going public?

thanks so much for the response, by the way
Master ad Vitam
Probably not. If it does get released, it may not be for a while. Some traders don't share for a variety of reasons, which I could probably write a book about, so I won't get into it here.

(and no, I'm not the taper, but I have seen this one floating around)
