I just need to say one thing.

FUCKIN EH TRENT!!! for mixing up the set lists like that, keeps things interesting.

If I could ever make a suggestion for a killer live song I would pitch Ruiner, the part where that evil beat and guitar kicks in after the slow drum solo would send me off, I would clear the mosh pit I swear. Last would be a killer live song to, But I'm definatly sorry I missed BURN I really wanted rip a sesh to that song.

Sorry for the rant but I'm on a huge NIN rejuventaion right now..I will not miss the fall tour period.

i have just been destroyed.

setlist looks about good, though the leap into the crowd came not during Piggy, I don't think. Also, he jumped on my head. that was alright. ^.^

and the extended 'Starfuckers' seemed to be due to a drum malfunction, there were a couple roadies out fixing something up, so Trent was just buying time.

....20 songs. Beside You In time faded in over the house music just before the lights went out.
Trent's ribbon for voice effects is really cool.

I got to the Kool Haus at about 9:30 this morning, me and a bunch of my friends were bored, so we made Trent an 'almost birthday' card ("You'll always be 26 to us."), and got everyone in line at the time to sign it. No word on whether it made it to him or not, we taped it to the side of his bus, and sometime in the afternoon, a roadie read it and then tucked it inside the bus.

and that's my story.

I remember it being "Piggy" because he stopped singing while the crowd chanted "nothing can stop me now" and Leo had to pull him back in time for the thumb piano (I think it's actually called an m'bira) solo.

Makes sense. I think "The Day the World Went Away" was a little longer than usual, too: Trent took a pretty long guitar solo before the "hoooooo-oooooh"

fucking incredible show. My jaw was on the floor, i was in shock. My first nin show ever and i'm extremely pleased - hands down: the best concert of my life. I was right in front of the soundboard and every so often i'd sit ontop of the railing - the view was surreal: above all the fans and into the eyes of the band. incredible.

the setlist was fucking killer and the dresden dolls were so amazing - the cover of Karma Police with jerome on drums was insane!!!

i'll never forget this night.

(does anyone else think they might enjoy this show more than the upcoming arena date?)

Tonight was definitely better than last night.

Only downside for me is I personally love The Fragile, and With Teeth is really growing on me with alot of new and older favourites that don't seem to be getting played on this tour, so as good as both Toronto shows were, I still have alot I want to hear live... it would've been amazing to hear "Right Where It Belongs", I think it can easily rival Hurt, even though it IS Hurt.

I'll definitely get to whatever shows I can when they come back.

On second thought, you may be right, I may be crazy.

Regardless, I managed to stay directly center, on the rail, the whole show. I am so beaten and right now, but I don't care. I was the bald kid in the Starfucker shirt.

As previously stated... he jumped on my head! Good view, surprisingly good sound, at least from where I was (and with earplugs in). Everyone was on, everything sounded good. Aaron's fun to watch, Alessandro's so cute. Jeordie's getting a little better, but still not terribly animated, and I have to admit to not having watched too much of Jerome other than to say that if my ears don't deceive me, he's cheating on the 'You Know What You Are?' riff - on the CD, it sounds to be to be straight two bar double bass sixteenth note pattern, breaking only for the two snare sixteenths on the [and of four], [three/and of four]. But he was throwing rack tom in there in lieu of continued double bass - does anyone know waht I'm talking about? Am I just crazy?

Regardless, wow, again.

It was an incredible show... Glad Gave Up, Suck, Burn and Reptile were ALL played... Yeah.

I was the cool guy wearing a shirt that said "Hip and HappeNIN' ", if anyone noticed. I was really hoping for something special, like only, tonight though...

Good, solid show none the less. And the Dresdon Dolls are incredible. Their studio album has now been dwarfed.

Hey, I think I saw you in the lineup to get inside. I had on my homemade "SQPSR" shirt and cargo shorts (the same ones I wore to see NIN at Maple Leaf Gardens in 2000).

Incredible that Jerome came out to play with The Dresden Dolls, especially to do a song like that one. Did Brian do an acoustic guitar thing or something for that song, I know for a few of them he pauses from the drums to play guitar.

saw the futant shirt too. i'd say i was wearing black but that doesn't really narrow it down now does it?

and since i don't post you wouldn't know me anyway...

great show again, tho yesterday was more thrilling for me, getting to hold onto trent when he was down off the stage. i'm so totally injured but it's fantastic. can't believe i have to wait for the fall now.

crowd dive was definitely piggy.

i thought it was sort of neat how monday was the "with teeth" show, and today was "the fragile" show...good to see both dates, and see so many songs played. thank god for the kid on ebay who needed to sell me tonights tickets so he could have money to see pearl jam.

That was a lot of fun. A great show. I got to do some good screaming and bouncing around. I was on the left almost in front of Jeordie. During Even Deeper these two guys started to mosh and it was annoying the people around so I pushed one of the guys to the ground. They stopped fucking around and went somewhere else. After I did it some guy gave me a pat on the back and said good job. The Dresdon dolls were great and I got their autographs on the free CD thing. I'll write more when I think of things later.

Wow. What an amazing night.

I started waiting in line about 3:30, and there were only 50 or so people ahead of me. So I was pretty close when the show started, on the left side (Jeordie's side), but I kept getting pushed back and toward the center. I braved the crowd for quite awhile. I remember when Trent jumped into the crowd during piggy, even though I couldn't really see anything. It was like 5 people away from me.

I lasted until The Day The World Went Away, which turned into The Day Lisa Thought She would pass out if she didn't get a drink of water. So I slowly made my way out (by this time I'd gotten pushed pretty far back anyhow).

Simply amazing. I love Reptile live. Especially the part in the middle where he sings, "Please don't hurt me..." I know they did it last tour but not at the show I went to. And the Big Comedown. And...it was all just fucking amazing!

And now I know why Trent calls us "pigs." We fucking stink! And then there's a few people who have to be fucking assholes, but there were also some very nice people who protected me from those assholes, and for that I'm appreciative.

It was really awesome to see NIN in such an intimate setting, but now I'm looking forward to the arena tour where I can actually enjoy the show without fear of suffocation. I'm not really complaining, I'm...just old, hehe. It was one night I'll never forget.

EDIT: Oh yeah I really liked the Dresden Dolls. I hadn't heard them until tonight, I'll have to pick up their CD.

I didn't go or anything, but damn that's cool to hear Jerome sat in for The Dresden Dolls on one song. I know people who had Brian mistaken for Jerome or vice versa at the 6th Congress show, I was all, no way in hell that's Dillon.. not tall enough, at all.

Anyone care to describe the DD / Dillon situation a little more though?

Was he nearby when he came on, or did he just come thru some door or curtain?

Two amazing shows. And it was definitely during Piggy when he jumped into the crowd...I went nuts when he did that. And what can be more fun that screaming "Nothing...can...stop...me!" with Trent and the whole crowd.

Definitely higher energy the second night. I have video, but the sound is fucked for all the NIN grabs because they were rumbling the building.

The Kool Haus was a great place to see the show, especially considering that the farthest from the stage you could be is the distance an 8-year old girl can throw a baseball with her left hand. It will be hard to match this concert experience.

I think I was behind Aziraphale for most of the concert. I was the tall guy with short hair just behind to your left.

Last night fucking rocked. 5 years ago, when the Fragility tour hit MLG, I said I wanted to get in the pit and this time I did it! But wow, I was destroyed.

I dont remember Suck or Even Deeper. No wait. No I do.

Yea last night was fucking awesome, great setlist love the trent stage dive. I gotta say though, thank you to whoever helped get my 5 foot girlfriend out of the pit. She has Cystic Fibrosis so its really hard for her to breathe normally, so with endless pounds of people pushing against her its not very good, its deadly. Plus shes really small and easy to trample. I told her to hang in the back with my other friends but shes a big fan as well she wanted to risk it. Well she could have actually died so I thank those around me who helped me get her out. Im sorry for those I punched in the face in the madness, I got my payback, I got a bruised rib and my shirt completly torn apart (I was the big guy in the red and black hawaiian shirt). Well all ended up ok sat with her made sure she was ok, told me to get going so I ran back into the crowd near the end.

We recorded the show, havent checked how good it turned out yet, hope you guys enjoyed the beachballs we brought in, managed to blow up and throw around.

yeah that show was fuckin nuts. two of my fingers are kinda swollen from people trying to rip the mic out of my hands, mainly the security guy.

before the show me and my friend were wandering to get food after parking by the venue and could hear the warm up session, they were playing "you dont know what you are?" we stood and listened in for a bit.

but i would have to say catching the mic was the highlight.

aside from being able to see NIN in such a small venue, even when i was in the back behind the mixing board, durring closer, it was a good veiw

I think I noticed Trent had a little bit of blood on his face and hand after he got back up on stage during Piggy. It was either a scratch on his face or somebody eles's make-up. After all, he jumped into the crowd!

yeah im pretty sure this concert was the same as the 60s... if you remember it all you werent realy there...

shit i dont even remember what line i was singing what i get the mic. and security needs to realise that mic's are replaceable, my fingers are not

I'm pretty sure it was during Suck on the line "I am so dirty on the inside". At least I think it was.

The show was really tight. The sound was amazing, but I did notice Trent fuck up the lyrics too (like at the beginning of the second verse of Reptile).

I was center, in front of the soundboard. I'm really glad I wore my platform boots to make myself 2-3 inches taller, or else I'm not sure I would have seen much. I was on my tippy toes all night trying my best to get the best view possible at all times.

Part of me wanted to go closer to get a better view, but the other part of me also knew I didn't want to be in the pit.

It's all sort of a blur at this point, but I remember various times throughout the concert being in a complete state of bewilderment that I was seeing NIN live. I was mouthing the words to pretty much everything, and when I wasn't, I had the goofiest grin on my face. So happy.
This was the 1st time I've ever seen NIN and I feel really lucky that I got tickets to a show in such a small venue because who knows if I'll ever get to experience NIN in such a personal setting ever again.

Dresden Dolls were cool too. Brian is a wicked drummer and Amanda's voice is impressive. I expected them to do the War Pigs cover (and it was good) but I was pleasantly surprised with the Karma Police cover with Dillon on the drums. Awesome.

Did anyone notice that Trent mixed up the lyrics twice?

The first time was during The Line Begins to Blur, he switched up the first two lines like this:

"There are fears that I cannot believe have come true
There are things that I swore I would never do"
as opposed to the reverse.

The second was in Reptile, he said "Angels" twice instead of "Devils speak of the way..." he said "Angels" and then followed it with "Angels bleed from the tainted touch of my caress" (the correct lyrics)...

Perhaps I'm picky, and perhaps I dreamed it all, but did anyone else notice these two errors?

Yep, that's the error I noticed too.

Last night was so fucking awesome!! I managed to get to my favourite spot for KoolHaus concerts -- right against the Stage Right rail, right next to the speakers. I've only seen three NIN shows -- the Gardens, the Skydome with Bowie, and this one. This, by far, was the best. And, surprisingly, it wasn't too loud, even being next to the speakers. Perfect sightlines for everything.

And no, I didn't get crushed, or mamed, or killed. I just have one question: why were all of the girls standing Stage Right...hmmm ??

I only saw the one Toronto show, and the setlist was perfect for me. I did get quite emotional (apologies to the two ladies standing next to me), since my husband (who passed away in February) and I considered "The Fragile" to be "our album". So I lost it on the opening chord, and several times throughout. But it couldn't have been a better show.

Heeeyyy!! I was the guy to the right of you in front row! What a rediculously surreal night that was. I still can't believe I touched Trent's face! I was holding onto his hand!! Haha!

The beat in YKWYA does kinda sounds like a doublebass thing. I'm not sure though. But I am pretty sure Jerome did the drumming for most of the album... so I can't imagine why he'd cop out at a show.

Heh, beat me to it. I've seen 6 shows and he's messed that one line up at least four or five times. I remember the one time he got it right, I cheered, and everyone around me looked confused. Oh well.

Yeah, last night was absolutely awesome.

21 songs instead of 20 from the first night.
Trent jumping into the crowd surprised me and was so cool.
Throwing the mic into the crowd during Suck was really cool too. I'm surprised that security was able to get it back - I thought for sure it would be destroyed.
Dresden Dolls playing Karma Police and War Pigs. I was very impressed with both covers.
The mosh pit was much more intense last night then the first night. I had to bail out after March of
the Pigs, and i was soaked in sweat. My two friends stayed in for the whole show and were completely drenched in sweat. I don't know how you can go the whole show without taking a break for water. It was soooo hot inside.
The highlight for me was The Day The World Went Away. This is my favourite song and I'm glad I had the chance to hear it live.
Both shows were phenomenal, can't wait until the fall.

Oh and one last thing, in case anyone didn't know, Chris Martin of Coldplay was at the first show on Monday, wearing a hooded shirt to keep himself inconspicuous.

Yeah. I noticed during Terrible Lie that his nose was bleeding. And I think he had a cut on his right cheek... but that might have just been blood from his nose.

I snagged a guitar pic at this show. I am mostly sure that it was one of the pics that Trent used. North was using white pics with black lettering. Jeordie was using grey pics with I am assuming white or black lettering. The pic that I snagged is black with RED lettering. Does anyone know so that I can confirm that trent used this pic? Thank you.

P.S. I was NOT expecting Trent to jump into the crowd durring piggy. It was totally sweet how he took a few steps back then wore a grin from ear to ear just before he jumpped!!!
I will never forget the look on his face. . . .

Trent was using a pic that had the color red on it. Its one of the small details I know for sure.

hey all, what can i say? i went to both shows, and both shows blew me away, i was never a huge NIN fan, don't hate me! haha, my gf is the huge NIN fan, they've just always been a band i never really got into, i didn't dislike them or anything, i'm a flatout metal head, so i guess i don't dig alot of synth type music, which brings me to my next point, NIN live...fucking incredible, i do own the live cd, and i did pick up W/Teeth. and i like that disc alot too, oh i have Broken, i like the more rockin' tunes, bein' a more rockin' guy, so night 1 was incredible, the first half of the show was balls out rocking, and i DO love the song 'SICNH' so that was extremely cool to hear. as i said earlier, i'm a metalhead all the way, so to hear WAR PIGS during DD's set...i was all over that haha. anywayz. there was tonnes of cool people there, and i had a great time both nights...i know i've witnesses a once...well twice (both shows haha) in a lifetime experience, sound was great, energy was great. Trent was REALLY into Terrible Lie last night (night 2) he was just going insane...the look on his face, the whole band was REALLY into that song, awesome, i loved it. so yes, even though i never was the biggest NIN fan,you can count on seeing me when they come around again...as long as i haven't spent all my money following TOOL on tour

First of all, THANK YOU!!!!! to the very cool ETS member (who shall remain nameless for her privacy) who sold me her tickets for Tuesday's show. It was great.

I was very impressed with Dresden Dolls. The drummer is amazing and she too can really play. Love the outfits.

I thought it was very cool that our Fearless Leader took a flying leap into the crowd, and took a running start to do so. Good for you Trent.

I don't know whose idea this was, but it was certainly a classy move: since Nails brought their own PA, they dismantled KoolHaus' PA system, thus creating a much more open and visible stage. I've been to KH concerts where noone under 6'5" could see a goddamned thing. Or maybe they remodelled the place? I dunno. In any event, last night, you had really good sitelines wherever you stood. I was at the back by the bar on the stairs. I had an excellent unobstructed view, which is a huge deal for me since I'm only 5 feet tall!

The person who got the mic sang something like "I feel so fucking dirty" or whatever. I can't exactly remember. But dude, you seized the moment and you rocked. Sorry about your fingers.

I was a little concerned when Aaron nailed Jeordie. That looked painful. I don't know if it was in retaliation for Monday's rocket bottle incident, but this was not cool. And J looked pissed!

The sound was good and TR's voice was excellent.

On the way to the show, I shared a cab with a really nice gentleman who turned out to be a deejay at CFNY. Millhouse Brown? Anyways, lovely fellow.

Yes, the place was hot and yes it stunk. Boy did that place stink. And I paid $5 for a coke at the bar. But I didn't care, I had a really good time and look forward to the stadium tour.

EDIT: ya, the lights were great.

In a word: fantastic!

It's definitely been remodelled since the last time I was there. Of course, it was still the Warehouse at that time. I was hoping to stand at the raised bar at the back, only to find the back bar is no longer raised. I also believe the stage is now closer to the centre and I swear the bathrooms used to be in a different place, too. Or am I thinking of the Guvernment? I really should get out more so I can tell these places apart.

Uh, not sure about that Koolhaus/Guvernment thing. It's definitely been remodelled since the Warehouse days - wow you've haven't been there in a while! lol I'm talking about a recent remodelling, within the last year or so. And the back bar (on the side where the entrance is) is raised up by three steps. That's where I stood. In any case, this is the best concert I've ever seen at KH.

According to my research, I would have last been there on March 3, 2000 for Type O Negative, so yeah, it's been a while! The "back bar" that used to be raised was the little one that's directly opposite the stage now. That huge bar area along the side wasn't even there when it was the Warehouse. But you're right, NIN was a great way to make my first official Kool Haus visit.

That drunk guy was fucking crazy. He pushed through the crowd like a fucking rhino. He was talking/groping/hanging-off-of anyone who made eye contact with him. I wanted to punch him in the face, but being in Canada with all the nice Canadians I resisted the urge to be such a voilent american asshole!

P.S. I am still wondering if trent was using BLACK guitar pics with RED lettering!

haha I'm pretty sure that same drunk ass was buying merch when I was cuz he was going on about the different sizes and canadian currency, etc. It was pretty funny, nonetheless. And I remember him singing "Coin Operated Boy" before the dolls went on.

I got my recorder in no problem, but it fucked up bad. Stopped recording after 10 minutes so I only got The Frail/The Wretched and part of You Know What You Are? on the first disk. Then when I changed the disk it recorded part of The Day The World Went Away then it kept stopping until it finally froze with the record button pushed down. Im not happy with what happened. Fucking thing.

So after hearing the bands sound check on the way to the eaton centre with drexial, we came back to find some buffalo crew in line.

After getting in, the dresden dolls came on not too long after and played a pretty cool show, a bunch of covers, 2 of them being expectionally cool. They're more energetic live, and the drummer kicks major ass.

The wait for NIN wasn't really all that bad, they came out pretty much on time and to my suprise they played fragile songs, the night before they played only one so i wasn't sure whether or not they would tonight. They actually played a decent mix from each album which was fine by me because they played all of my favorites, some would argue that maybe they could've played this instead of that, but honestly for my first NIN concert i could care less, they went out there played some awesome songs and kicked some major ass.

Many times i thought my lungs were going to explode, being almost 6 ft i was able to stand on my tip-toes and gasp air but i don't know how the shorter people did it but atleast they're ok.

This show was everything i could've hoped for and more, i don't know if i'll ever get to get that close to the band again but it was amazing.

Can't wait for the fall arena tours and destruction pt.2.

The Dresden Dolls are really good! I just had some difficulties to enjoy the music when the big Alberta drunk asshole was swinging his arms, and I had to dodge his fucking cigaret. I also saw the big jerk drink the beer from the hand of someone else. I don't understand why he didn't get thrown out of the bar after he rumbled in the crowd almost trampling everybody on his path. I was pleased when I saw someone punch him behind the head and when he got his long hair pulled by someone as frustrated as me. Fuck him. He ruined the DD show for me. But I bought the live CD of the DD and its good, but not as at the Koolhaus.

I never was in a pit before that show, if I had, I would not have bring my 5 foot girlfriend so near the stage. As soon as NIN got on the stage, I lost control of my space and my gf got smashed kind of badly. But SHE was the one to got us out of there. I want to say sorry to everybody who got in her way

That was the show of my life nonetheless. I was so amazed to see Trent jump like crazy in the crowd. The setlist was not my favorites songs, but I was very happy to hear them live, I kind of like them more now. I wish they played With teeth and more of the new album, I wanted to see trent play tamborine. By the way, what was the little instrument he played after he stage dive? I was too far to see.

I think Aaron is funny, and the end of the show he desperately tried to take down the big speaker, but never succeed. He looked pissed about that.

During the line to enter the bar, a girl and a guy were asking for spare change to buy tickets from the scalpers. And they succeed! I was happy for them.

I took pictures with a disposable, don't know yet if they're good. And on the night before, I went to sneak around the KoolHaus and took some pics and video of the line. I also recorded some of the warm up session from behind the building, sounds very crappy. But we were hearing them from inside the Loblaws across the street

I would be glad to have some pictures of the show too, I pretty sure mine will suck I was to far.

I've got a few pretty decent shots in. A couple really good ones of Jerome with DD. My scanner's pretty horrible though... and I completely forgot to ask them to put it on CD when I got it developed. So, I'm gonna go back tomarrow and see if they can still do it somehow. If not, I'll scan them anyway.

Anywho, what an amazing show. This was my 5th and it easily made its way to the top. The whole energy of the show was just like "bam". Never gonna forget this one. Great crowd, glad to have shared it with yall.

That's right! I had forgotten about a few things that happened at the show. It was cool watching Aaron climb the speakers during Head Like A Hole. From my perspective (mid-to-back right when facing the stage) it looked like he was trying to climb all the way to the top so he could play his guitar from up there. But he couldn't make it all the way up - maybe his cords got tangled or maybe it was because the song was almost over. Very entertaining to watch though.

I also forgot about the lyric mix up in The Wretched. There were quite a few of those throughout the show, which I noticed when they occurred, but forgot about afterwards. I should have written them down or something.

That concert fuckin' rocked! I wasn't expecting Trent to jump into the crowd during Piggy... it was an odd choice of song to take a mad stage dive! I have some pictures I don't mind sharing at http://www.geocities.com/starfckers_inc2004/nin.html I somehow managed to sneak my beastly digital camera in, but I could only take about 50 pictures because I forgot to charge my camera battery before the show (stupid me!) and only the 19 on my site turned out. Anyhow, can't wait till the next time!!

Also, I have a question about the Dresden Dolls setlist. What was the second song they played? Someone came up to me after they played and gave me the setlist and it says Gravity as the second, but someone else posted that Bad Side was 2nd. I don't really know much from DD but I would just like to know what they played so I can post it on my site.

TRENT REZNOR is on an upward spiral. After a five-year absence, the frontman for Nine Inch Nails brought his band back to Toronto this week. The first of two-sold out shows at the Kool Haus Monday night was a triumphant celebration of the release of a new album and Reznor's successful return from the brink of death.

The brand new NIN release, With Teeth, comes six years after the introspective epic The Fragile, an intricate double-album which some felt pushed the limits of his indulgences. Since emerging in 1989, Reznor has produced aggressive electronic-based rock that explores his deepest self-loathing and doubt, sometimes to the point of dramatic overkill.

With his second release The Downward Spiral and a memorable mud-soaked performance at Woodstock 94, NIN became the most successful industrial music band ever, and Reznor an iconic prince of darkness to black-clad misfits everywhere.

When last seen, they were headlining stadiums. Then the man who called himself "Mr. Self Destruct" found himself addicted to drugs and alcohol and had to bow out of the scene. To make With Teeth, the singer required rehab and recovery time, but judging by the band's show-stopping live set, Healthy Trent is ready to make a big comeback.

Opening the first Kool Haus show with NIN's trademark intro, Pinion, it was clear this special club gig was not just about pushing the new disc. They ripped through almost 20 fan favourites in a non-stop barrage of buzzsaw guitar crunch, funky synths and machine gun attack drums. Appearing first in a white-collared shirt, Reznor was full of vigour and vitriol (and disturbingly large biceps!) launching into the heavy new You Know What You Are, before pulling out the 1990 danceclub hit Sin. Reznor's new band, featuring Jeordie White (a.k.a. Twiggy Ramirez from his Marilyn Manson days) kept pace.

The mood at first was sonic chaos, different from past shows tightly choreographed for maximum dramatic impact. This 90-minute set was all raw power, without the violent stage antics or multi-media production, just pure energy set on stun.

Older tunes like Terrible Lie and Closer were re-arranged for the new millennium, flowing seamlessly into With Teeth's single The Hand That Feeds.

Without any talking, Reznor mainlined his music into the sweaty, rapturous crowd, orchestrating the dark tension and release like a good horror movie director. And for the frat boys who just came to rock out, plenty of fist-pumping, swear-laden hate anthems. Not everything worked: Slower numbers like Something I Can Never Have and Every Day Is Exactly The Same didn't catch fire. But NIN can touch the heart: Reznor took solo piano for Hurt, the quiet ballad covered by the late Johhny Cash, which turned into a joyous singalong. Then, a last blast of guitar-fueled mayhem and, sans encore, it was over on the highest note, the classic Head Like A Hole.

Now that he's back, Trent Reznor isn't going anywhere fast: He promises a full-size NIN tour for fall.

An amazing show, until I was pulled from the front row and beaten by security. If anyone saw what happened to me, please contact me and let me know what you saw.

Thanks to the few House of Blues security guards who stuck up for me and helped me get my shoe and shirt back, and to all the people at the front who know how ridiculous that was.

Yeah I'll write a more thorough description of what happened when I get a chance, but anyone who was near the front saw it go down. I was front row in front of Jeordie, and it happened towards the end of the show, sometime around Even Deeper or Wish, I think.

When I saw them grab you it was like the gustapo coming in for a beating...I felt bad for you but didn't know what really happened. Then they brought her back to the front row during 'Hurt' and made me move...she even had the nerve to complain to security after the show about other stupid crap.

Other than the above situation - THIS SHOW KICKED ASS...The only other show that came close was the one they had the night before! Trent is the best. I ended up catching his waterbottle and getting a nice gulp of water...AHHHHH

First off I have to comment on that drunk asshole that people have been talking about.
First, he cut right in front of me when I was trying to buy a T-shirt. Then when I was just starting to tell the guy which one I wanted the guy comes plowing back through again saying the guy didn't give him all the shirts he wanted. What a dick!
Then he just happens to be around us when we were waiting for the Dresden Dolls to come on. I swear he was moshing or just being stupid before they even went on stage. A couple of times some guys almost got into a fight with him. I must also add that it was amazing hearing the Dresden Dolls play Karma Police with Jerome. It was like also seeing Radiohead at the concert. But enough about him I would rather talk about my NIN experience.

When Trent Reznor said he was going to destroy us on this tour he wasn't kidding.
I was on the right side of the stage about 5 to 7 rows back from the stage. That was crazy, it got so packed in there when NIN was coming on stage.
Even if you didn't want to mosh you had to at least push with the crowd when the crowd would push you from behind.
I think my favourite songs were Burn and Gave Up. I was just going nuts during those songs. Also, it was sooo hot in there, it felt like I had jumped in a swimming pool with my clothes on I was sweating so much!
Which brings me to the part about Trent saying he was going to destroy us. Like I said I had been in the pit the whole show when finally I was just exhausted and couldn't move anymore. It was at the end of Even Deeper when I said to my friend that I had to get out of there. So I made my way out of the crowd and went to the bar on the right side of the stage. By the time I got there I knew I needed water badly, I was starting to stumble and my vision was going. So I just leaned up against the bar and was waiting to be served. Finally, I just started yelling out that I wanted some water. The next thing I remember is clutching onto the bar and thinking I just want to lay down. I guess it was at that moment I passed out. Not for long though, only about 2 or 3 seconds. My friend was behind me and caught me before I fell. Then, security was grabbing me and said "This guy is out of here". They thought I was drunk, but my friend told them that I wasn't, that I had just passed out. So then this big black security guard said to follow him and they would fix me up. He took me backstage or whatever and I had to see some doctor. He took my blood pressure and gave me some water. All of this is pretty blurry but I remember saying when he said I looked very pale that I always looked that way. I kept asking when I could go because I was missing the show. Finally, after listening as well as I could to Hurt being sung in the distance he said I could go but to stay out of the crowd. So I made it back out for The Hand That Feeds but I don't remember much of it. But I do remember Starfucker's and Head Like A hole.
But I would have to say this was the best concert I have ever seen, even though I didn't see all of it, lol.
Me and my friend then had to drive all the way back to Cornwall from there, a nice 5 hour drive.
But, it was all worth it.
So yes I would have to say that NIN destroyed me!

Yeah man of course I remember you. Those guys pretty much took shots on me while they dragged me outside and handed me over to the cops. I was kneed in the groin, punched in the stomach 3-4 times, and struck across the face. Thankfully the security guard who was in front of me came out and told them I didn't do anything. The bitch claimed that I had sexually harrassed her and tried to rip her shirt off or something.

They let me back in a few minutes after they took me out, and I said I wanted my spot in front back. I said if they took me in front, I think people would let me in after they saw what happened. You may have seen them walk me back to the front at that point, but they said that there was no room and I couldn't get in. When I found out after the show that they made people move so the bitch could have my spot I couldn't believe it.

The show was good, but the air quality sucked ass. It was even foggy in the bathroom! Kool Haus should invest in a better air circulating system. That's my biggest complaint.

Other than that, the crowd (towards the sound boards and left side) was cool. Unfortunately, due to my view, I missed the Trent stage dive. Man, that guy sweats (like a pig

).

Does anyone recall that nasty panhandler outside who was walking past saying things like..."and (#) months ago, I had crabs!!! and ..." Ew dude, that's not a way to get spare change.

It was funny to listen to people's conversations while in line; you can tell who the out-of-towners are when they're like, "man, that's like the tenth Beamer in the last five minutes! They're just a dime a dozen here, aren't they!?" or when they rubber-neck any SUV that has some obnoxious dude blasting his stereo. Or, when they muse about there being a little italy or a chinatown: "its like a whole different place!" Teehee. Thanks for the amusing eavesdropping while waiting.

Excellent show!

I stood near the bar on the right then my friends and I gradually worked my way into the crowd during the set.

My one friend kept going. She disappeared into the crowd similiar to how the baseball players did in the corn field in "Field of Dreams" making it all the way to the front (right side) where all the other shorter ladies were. Trent ended up dripping sweat on her. It made her happy!

All in all, a good night. We showed up during the DD's and I actually enjoyed their set. Especially the Karma Police cover.

I couldnt ask more of the NIN set.

Fucking disgusting. I didn't see what happened, but I remember you being on their side of the barracade, whether that was before or after, I really couldn't tell.

Most of them seemed decent for most of the show, I was shielding your friend with the septum piercing pretty much the whole time, and the security guy in front of me was pretty good about giving me a heads up when someone was about to come over top of us.

But the guys who get all high and mighty about themselves and think they can get away with beating people up is just fucking ridiculous. I really hope you can press charges, man. That was just utterly fucking stupid of them.

I know what big drunk dude you guys are talking about. My friend and I were very close to him in the line and he was drinking the whole time in the line. He was also ridiculously loud and kept screaming randomness like 'JESUS IS A CUNT!' which was then followed by an awkward silence among everyone in the line. We spoke to him briefly in line and afterwards my friend said "Once we're inside, we're staying as far away from him as possible". Haha.

I forgot to say how happy I was to hear Reptile. I absolutely love that song. And Hurt was beautiful of course. The first time he sings "And you could have it all", and everyone chimes in louder...fuck, it was fantastic.
I must say that the whole thing was fairly surreal, and it was weird seeing Reznor do characteristic movements during certain lines/songs that I've seen him do on concert footage. I couldn't believe I was seeing it live.

During the DD set, one security guard was such a prick. I was standing at the bar on the right with a reasonable amount of space around me but he still bumped me while walking by. It wasnt like he was chasing someone down or anything like like that. He was huge. He had to be something like 6'4" and around 300 pounds. I'm like 5'9/10" and 190 pounds.

He then said something like "stay out of my way" and I was like "what the fuck?"

Luckily he just walked away.

Thank you so much for posting pictures.

The whole evening is a series of snapshots in time for me. I don't remember the whole concert. Towards the second half of the concert I think I was concentrating on not passing out that I feel I missed a lot of the show. I'm kind of disappointed in myself (after all it was my first pit expierience).

These pictures and all your stories are totally helping me relive that evening. Thanks and keep it coming.

The most memorable momment for me was Trent jumping into the crowd and the first thing I see is Trent's ass in my face. I thought, "Holy shit! Its Trent's ass!" Yes I did touch it. He is real. I was so happy.

Botley - thanks for reminding me about the African thumb piano. I forgot about that, but remember it clearly now that you've mentioned it. That's another cool part of the show - I don't know how hard it is to play one of those, but Trent sure is multi-talented.

Ok... Heres my complete review... its LONG SO DONT BOTHER SPAMMING!!!

After arriving at the train station and passing through the undercover cops (male & female) saying "TICKETS! TICKETS! NIN TICKETS! BUY SELL TICKETS!!" i saw a HUUGGEE fucking crowd circling the perimeter of koolhaus...

I wasnt willing 2 stand in the line because i wasnt willing to see Dresden Dolls (DONT SPAM!) becuase i would be tired by the end of the show...

Anyways... i was sitting in the parking lot besides the tour bus and headbanging to the "With Teeth" tracks being played on the merch section outside...

The line Begins to blur... literally... people started moving, some people screaming "HALELUJAH! I LOVE JESUSSS!!!" and some people wearing clown mask passed by...

Everyone went inside while me and my bro waited outside for the show to start... when i saw Brian Viglione (Drummer for Dresden Dolls) stretching his legs outside holding drumsticks with the tour manager screaming "five minutes!"

i went up to him and said "hey! Good luck for the show..." he was pretty cool and funny guy (results of his jokes were seen at the show) and we took some pics. So I said to my bro “Lets go in and see there show.” I asked Brian if I can enter through backstage and he said “Sorry dude... Security is pretty tough today, I cant even let air in without security’s permission.”

Anyways.. We went in to koolhaus and saw some familiar faces (staff, security and a friend) and the staff asked “Hope you don’t have pizza and coke that you brough last time (in QOTSA & Mudvayne’s concert…) I laughed and went in after checkin in my bag…

Anyways… I managed to be in the good angle and crowd even though I was late…

Dresden dolls kicked in and did a really groovy show… mixing acoustic, piano, bass and drums…. It was cool… Jerome Dillon also came in as Guest Drummer when Brian was using acoustic guitar…

After an hour long… they bowed down and went away… Not in a million years would I have thought that after an hour and a half, ill bow down to God’s greatest creation himself… During the encore… the crowd played with a yellow ball with a smiley face… the ball went from place to places till it went in the stage and everyone said “BOOO!!!!!”

Crowd started chanting “Nine Inch Nails! Nine Inch Nails!” and intro to “Besides You In Time” kicked in… the crowd went nuts and everyone wanted to squeeze in even it was so dark and you couldn’t see where you are going…

My underarm dripped a sweat and I knew that today wont be a good day for the cleaners when the show will be done…
A figure came up on stage alone and everyone knew its Trent Reznor… he had his hand on the keyboard and “The Frail” became the frailer for everyone…

Bass kicked in and “The Wretched” wrecked the symmetrical formation of the crowd… people started pushing left, pulled right, pushed in… make out… punch him… blow that…
“It Didn’t turned out the way you wanted it to”
I couldn’t handle that sound…
“It didn’t turned out the way you wanted it did it?”
I looked at my brother and he looked at me
“It Didn’t turned out the way you wanted it to”
I waved Goodbye and pointed that ill see you after the show

And he said what?

NOW!!!! YOU KNOW!!!

I jumped up and surfed like I never surfed before!! It was good to be the first surfer… the crowd lifted me like the ball with a smiley face… they rotated me and now I was facing the crowd instead of the band.. I pointed at crowd and said “NOW! YOU KNOW! THIS IS WHAT IT FEELS LIKE!!!” and by the time I knew the security pulled me down and slammed me on the ground…

I managed to meet my bro again and by the time I did… Reznor Screamed “DON’T YOU FUCKIN KNOW WHAT YOU ARE!!” and the only person who I knew at that moment was me…

My brother was holding his Digital camera and he managed to make a few short clips via digital camera and the came out great - I managed to recored the show via voice recorder but it did no good…

After knowing who I was… Reznor pointed at us and said “Look at you fucking Pigs!”… “Step Right Up!!” We stepped… ”March!!” We fucking marched left and right…” Push!” We pushed like we never did before… “Crawl Right Up on your knees!” Some people were fallen down by the pushing and pulling and did crawled…

March of the Pig was insane! The floor got wet and full of blood and sweat and I knew that I’ll pass out… I needed water, air and dry clothes.. but I could miss a single second of the show…

Bass kicked in and “Line begins to Blur” jammed in… my glasses were wet of humidity and sweat and everything blurred…

Reznor: Is there someone on top of me…!
Crowd: I don’t know! I don’t know!
Reznor: Isn’t anybody stopping me…!
Crowd: I don’t know! I don’t know!

After cleaning my glasses and being able to see again… “Hey Pigs! Yeah You!”
Crowd squealed like an army of pigs, dying for water and music…

“Nothing can stop me now!” Reznor screamed and looked happier than ever before.. even Reznor was shocked of the energy of the crowd and wanted to be the part of it… Oh hell yeah! Nothing could stop Reznor now! He put down his mic.. looked at the band… looked at leo backstage… raised his arms and jumped like he never did before… (Reznor hates crowd surfing due to fact that people “fingers” him…) OMFG! Bad Move! Crowd went so nuts that my chest was squeezed and people wanted to have a taste of Reznor floating.. they screamed and pushed so bad that I went deaf for a moment. But Reznor was no where to be seen… I guess he went on top of first three rows and went down cause he got hurt after diving…

Leo came of stage and I dunno whether he was playing keyboard as a substitute or whether he was pulling reznor up… but he was doing something… I also picked up somebody… People! I swear people were under my feet! Half of the crowd was fallen… the band was also shocked but they kept on playing… finally reznor rises on stage in pain and he was holding his elbow as if his elbow was dysfunctional… after checking that he could move his elbow “NOTHING.. CAN.. .STOP ..ME!” he screamed and kicked in the piano…

“HEY GOD!” crowd screamed…! Terrible Lie had the best lightning effects ever.. and I love my brother for making the clip of it… Ill upload it in a few hours/days and I hope you people enjoy it too…

It was so hot that I was wearing two shirts.. one half sleeve black and one full sleeve white under it… I threw the full sleeve shirt at Twiggy and he was busy playing and didn’t notice the shirt under him.. A minute later, Leo ran in and took the shirt…

Burn! For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen burn was amazing! The music was totally changed from the original version and it sounded amazing with heavy drumming and Aaron North style guitaring… “Something inside of me, has opened up in size” and somebody farted… That changed the whole concept of the lyrics in my mind and I laughed when I smelled that shit…

Reznor: I am your savior
Crowd: Burn!
Reznor: I am corruption
Crowd: Burn!
Reznor: I am the angel
Crowd: Burn!
Reznor: of your destruction…

Priceless…

Closer’s intro kicked in the the whole place turned into a gothfest… Reznor screamed “I want to fuck you like an animal!” and the whole crowds was doing the “” motion… some folks had their girlfriends with them so they pulled them ahead of them and they both helped each other in the “fucking” motion by one soulmate moving forward and other moving back… I wanted to laugh but I was so busy screaming lyrics to every single song that I couldn’t…

After a while.. something started… no one recognized the scratchy intro which sounded like water dropping… some screamed “NO YOU DON’T!” while others screamed “WERE IN THIS TOGETHER!” when suddenly the music hits and Reznor screams “She Has a blood of Reptile, Underneath the skin!” for the next six minutes, the crowd was on drugs from that ravaging beats of “Reptile”

The greatest moment was when he played “The Big Come Down”… I love that song a lot and I don’t know why people underrated that song… I went crazy and the crowd went too.. people couldn’t stop surfing…

After a few moments of dream becoming reality… “Perfect Little Dreams!” OK! This is it! I haven’t seen so many people surfing at the same time! I wanted to surf too but then who would hold the people who are already surfing… Smashed Up My sanity!! And the whole crowd was full of sweat… I was slipping cause the floor was wet…

“The Day the world went away” filled the room and I knew that my brother, somewhere, would be screaming “MY FAVOURITE SONG!!” he taped the 45 seconds “na na naaaa!” cause that’s the part he loves the most, while the crowd was waving the hand…

Bassline kicked for Suck and I pointed to the roof “There is no God up in the sky, tonight!” Reznor pulled up all his energy and he said “I’m so tired… on the inside” and he handed the mic to the crowd… then I hear this desperate angry voice from the crowd “I am SO TIRED!!! I AM SO.. AHHHH!!!!” and I hear his voice no more... “How Does It Feel!” reznor gets he mic back and he screams “suck! Suck! Suck!”

Even Deeper was a soothing and great moment… love the song a lot..

Reznor: I stay on this track..
Crowd: Lost my way and I cant come back…!

After enough fucking around with the setlist… Reznor said… duh… “Enough Fucking Around!”
Crowd and Reznor: This is the first day of my last days!
Wish had amazing lighting effects and Reznor had amazing energy… and he looked in good health and shape…

There was 1 minute of silence and crowd said words like “I Love You Reznor!!” “Thank You Trent Reznor” and I screamed “Happy Birthday Trent!!” and Trent smiled and said in his heart “Thank You…”

“I… Hurt Myself Today” And I swear I couldn’t hear Trent sing because the crowd was singing every single word… Aaron, Twiggy, Alessandro and Jerome were no where to be seen… After the second chorus they entered and kicked in the drums and guitar…

The Hand that feeds kicked in and sounded a lot different than original version and it sounded great… the distorting and synthesizers were hammered and stretched in the outro and sounded superb… also, a water pipe of roof was dripping one drop after every 3 second and it gave me chance to not to pass out…

Starfuckers Inc. started and by the time it did, the crowd was exausted and so was trent… I guess only 10% of the crowd screamed “Starfuckers Incorporated” where the rest were dead tired… even trent was exhausted and forgot some of the lyrics… I slowly managed to reach the first row and between Trent and Aaron…

“I Bet You Think This Song Is about You! Don’t You!” And crowd chanted “Don’t You! Don’t you! Don’t you! Don’t you!”

And there was silence.. Trent and Crowd were dead silent after repeating “Don’t you” ten times… and I screamed “FUCK!!! YOU!!!!!” Trent looked at me.. .smiled… and kicked in “DON’T YOU! DON’T YOU! DON’T YOU! STARFUCKERS!!” that was a fucking great moment!

A voice of a girl came out from speakers “Hell Yeah! Hell Yeah! Hell Yeah! Yeah Yeah Yeah!” and crowd got the energy back,…

Reznor ordered “Bow down before the one you serve” and all the front row bowed to Trent.. It was fucking amazing! When Reznor said “Sick among the pure” at sick I pointed to the security cause he didn’t gave me water and I was tired of asking for it… and I pointed at Reznor when he said “Pure” because he was the only one who gave the crowd water…

At the end reznor threw the mic to the crowd again and me along with other people who were drying to hold the mic screamed in “HEAD LIKE A HOLE! BLACK AS YOUR SOUL! I RATHER DIE! TO GIVE YOU CONTROL” and after 3 seconds… the security snatched the mic cable and we pulled from other side coz we took an oath of dying than giving control… eventually he got the mic and we lost our innocence when the stage was trashed and everyone left… while he was taking mic I screamed in it “I LOVE YOU TRENT!!”

Drumsticks, Guitar picks and water bottle were thrown at people and a Guitar pick fell on the security barrier… two people from crowd jumped for it and the security beat the crap outta them!! It was funny but also sad that they shouldn’t beat someone for being a fan… so we yelled at security “Fuck You Asshole!!!”

The show was over and crowd was still standing for 15 minutes for no reason… they were shocked and destroyed… no one moved a muscle even when the security tried to make them go away… finally someone screamed “Oh My Fucking God! We Just Saw NIN and that was the best show ever!” while Rob was videotaping and taking photos of the crowd who were still shocked and standing there

It sure was the best that NIN gave in the entire With_Teeth tour…

While waiting outside for Trent… I saw Alessandro but I couldn’t meet him…
But I did met Aaron North and said “you were fucking insane and amazing!” I was all full of sweat and I told Aaron that “don’t put your hand on my shoulder coz I’m wet” but he didn’t cared and posed for photo and autograph… My bro also took a pic with his middle finger but Aaron said “Oh! I cant do that.. but I can show a thumbs up instead” God Damn he was so nice!

He then said that Trent and rest are taking a bath and he and Alessandro will go in the bus..

The bus went and I was informed that Trent left.. I dunno when he wnt in the bus but he did left… I thought the security is lying… I waited for Trent till 3 am and finally I was sure that isn’t there.. oh well… I also met most of the crew for the tour and they were pretty funny… they were taking their own pictures with a Male Sex Toy! That’s right! A Male Sex toy! I was soo funny that I was shivering and laughing at same time.. Finally when I was going, I took the sex toy from the crew! Hehehehhe! We were like “Yo! Can we take it?” And they said “just don’t do anything stupid with it!”

Oh well… Fucking Great Day!! Im Fucking Destroyed!!

GOD DAMN THIS REVIEW IS LONG AND TOOK ME 1 HOUR!!

Oh well… Happy Birthday Trent and thank you… This was the first and last time ill ever see him… coz I dunno where I will be after June…

Are you telling me you cant determine a true NIN fan from the I hate my daddy so I'm going to listen to hardcore music types. And the second show clearly was for the fragile fans. Sin and Pinion alone would have been awesome. I still feel all of us get robbed nowdays though, there is a plethra of songs that should be played live. I say any song hes done live in the 90's should have been scraped and filled with a whole new sound and feel. I would suggest HERESY, RUINER, Mr SELF DESTRUCT, BIG MAN WITH A GUN "played live a couple times", LAST, PHYSICAL, THATS WHAT I GET, INTO THE VOID, MAYBE JUST ONCE, JUST LIKE YOU IMAGINED would be sick, BURN was a wicked addition as with REPTILE "played rarely", i still can't believe DOWN IN IT is not around, as well I could really go for some PERFECT DRUG live. I just think the shows are starting to sound to commercial.

yeah the reason is alot of his songs would be extrememly hard to play live. I like the set list I couldnt complian if I was able to make it to Mondays show like I was supposed to, I like every single NIN song except for PIGGY so I cant really be done wrong, but it just seems like alot of the songs that would send me and the rest of his loyal army into a frenzy are skipped out. Could any of you imagine what HERESY or SLAVE SCREAMS would be like to experience live? my god I would clear the pit and then some. Perhaps this is just the classic leaving you wanting more syndrom. Like I said before BURN hit the nail right on the head thats a superb new addition.

Just be glad he doesnt abandon all of a particular album completely. Or certain songs.

He has ditched out entire albums, all of the industrial licks are nowhere to be found. Granted the industrial tracks are hard to do live, but it would be awesome to hear them as fillers between songs and such.

and yes he says himself that some songs are hard to play and he tries his best... BEST... to compile the mall to guitar/drums/bass/keyboard...

If you really need some other songs.. go buy AATCHB or Closure... or just listen to that MAdonna of yours!

I went to both of the shows, and they were absolutely amazing

First time ever seeing NIN, and I was not disappointed.

Talked to some really great Canadian fans in line, my friends and I drove up from Michigan for the concert. For this show we were on the far left in the front row.

I was very happy with both setlists, and I enjoyed this one more. I watched his eyes for most of the concert. I could see his facial expressions! Reptile and Burn were my favorites, and him opening with The Frail was the best fucking thing ever.

The DD were fantastic, Amanda has an amazing voice, and they were really nice people.

I picked up one of the Lithographs, and I plan on getting a frame for it, I don't want anything happening to it.

I really can't add anything to what everyone has been saying. The most I suffered from were bruises in my arm pits from clutching the barricade so hard. I wouldn't have been able to tell you there was a pit from where I was

Wow. Where do even begin.

I flew in from Newfoundland to see this concert. I was in line With Aziphrale, and a small blonde girl who isnt on ETS. We were maybe 7-8th in line, and started lining up at 9 a.m.

The day was interesting. Got to meet a lot of really really cool people.(If you think you were near me, i was the long haired newfie with the fragile shirt. Feel free to drop me a line. My infos in my profile.) Suffered some minor heat stroke, spent to much money on random food, but time crawled the closer me got to the show.

Once we got in, I was right on the barricade, a little to the right of Aaron. Had a conversation with one of the security guys, who was really nice, and then The Dresden Dolls came on, and thoroughly blew me away. The Karma Police was fucking excellent.

And then There was NIN.

Holy fuck. Doing ths trip to see this concert put me way way in debt, but was it ever worth it. The set list was fucking phenominal, and i got to see Terrible Lie, which made my entire night. I got pulled out somewhere around the Big Comedown, and lost a shoe, which recovered. But after walking around for an hour on that floor, my socks were disgusting. But i'd do it alll over again.

Amazing Amazing experiance and i'm so glad i got to go.

That was an awesome experience...

I got in line around 5pm and stood next to one of the hot dog vendors for a large amount of the time. The wait seemed so long, I can't imagine what it would be like for the people that were there when I walked by at 7am. Did anyone see the couple raising money to get two tickets? They ended up getting $350, it sucks that they had to pay that to a dirty scalper, but it was nice to see fans helping out other fans. I got in, ran to the washroom and made it in the second row on the right hand side in front of the fan (was wearing a black kmfdm shirt if anyone was around there.)

Other things while standing in line: the guy in the mask singing about masturbation, finding a bag of weed once the line started moving

The Dresden Dolls played a surprisingly good set. I was pretty surprised by that. The drummer was especially entertaining to watch.

Moments: Karma Police and the broken record segment in coin-operated boy

Nine Inch Nails....wow. Some parts of the concert are blurry in my mind, especially towards the beginning. It was amazing though, there was such an energy in the crowd plus I had a very good view of most of the stage which made the experience so much better...By the end I was worn out and quite wet (the ceiling was really dripping by the end), but imo thats the best way to experience a concert.

Moments: Wish, Reptile, Gave Up and The Wretched

I ended up getting a lithograph after the show was over, I was very surprised that there were any left. Sadly the t-shirt I wanted was sold out.

All in all was an amazing experience, I can't wait for them to come back.

I really liked the beginning of March of the Pigs in both shows.

I was at the front against the barricade for both nights and both times when I heard the into for March of the Pigs I was preparing to get the fuck sqished outta me from the crowd...but for some reason it wasn't that bad compared to most other songs...at many many points i could feel the barricade start to bend (that was pretty scary)

Did anyone else think that DD were going to cover that on the first night? (i cant remember if im in the thread for the 9th or the 10th) I heard Brian start to drum what sounded like it but then he stopped. That would've been very cool to hear.

Yeah Brian did start to play the drumming part for March of the Pigs before they went into Girl Anarchronism. Sounded pretty awesome but it was highly unlikely they were going to cover it. I think he did it to tease the crowd.

Yeah i had a good few conversations with the couple that were trying to get tickets. The scalpers were being complete fucking assholes, and thr front of the line errupted in cheers when they got tickets. I was so happy to see them get in, the girl was crying she was so happy.

the show was absolutely amazing. I haven't seen them before because I was too young to go to the Fragility tour by myself and what not.

It was mentioned above, I know people don't love love love hearing the same songs over and over again like hurt, but for people like me who hadn't seen it before.. seeing that song live made my life. If he hadn't of played it, it would have been the disappointment of a life time.

My friend was really really excited because Trent jumped on his head, and he won't stop talking about it. He was so exicited however, that he couldn't remember the song.. so he'll be excited to know that someone is smart enough to write this stuff down.

To the guy that was writing all of the songs down, rock on you were nice to me. I felt sick and I had to leave the pit. Oh well.

And yeah, that guy that was an ass during DD, I was the person holding him up and I ended up having to hit him to make him go away. It sucked a lot. He was quite big, but that sort of crap happens to me every time. Yeah, other than that though, AWESOME.

FUCKING AMAZING SHOW!!!!!!!!!! Trent kicked some ass Tuesday night. I wish I was closer when he jumped in the crowd, I tried to reach but I was about 8 feet away and there was no moving in any closer. I also wish I had better memory of the set list/show as a whole but that place was way to boxed for remebering shit (not like I would contribute to such things

). It's been 2 days and my back/neck/body still hurt from the pit. I walked outta there like a zombie. Highlight of the night though was definetly the guy outside walking around with a handful of hand gel or mayonaise or something chanting "Do you like to masterbate". You gotta love the guys keeping a good attitude like living out on the streets.

The Toronto Star review from this show was all messed up, they were like "and he played old songs like 'how does it feel'" (haha! That's supposed to be suck)
And it said something along the lines of "They opened with the new 'Don't you know who you are?'"

If you're gonna get someone to review the show at least make it so they know their material.

I had a Zoom Camera, and my shots didn't even turn out 'cause of all the movemnent from the crowd an trying to get a steady shot was impossible, my pix all came out blurry with crazy lights everywhere.

Well by now you all know how the show went so i am not going to review it i just wanted to say that it was a much better show then the Fragility show i saw back in 200! For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen by far! I made mt way to the pit for a little bit but i guess i am too old or something because i didn't last, i was getting crushed and i didn't like it...i couldn't get my camera out in the pit so i went back to my spot behind the mixing booth where i had a great view of everything.

I got to the Koolhaus at about 730, by myself but i was soon joined by some random guy who asked to see my ticket, at first i was hesitant i didn't know who he was and i was afraid he was going to snatch it from my hands, but then he explained that he had just gotten there and bought a ticket from a scalper for 300 bucks...wow..we chatted the whole time he was really nice. We were not too far behind that drunk fuck who ket sreaming about everything, and there were some girls beside us and when he screamed " Jesus is a cunt, praise the whore' she yelled out " well that's a conversation stopped" and that was so funny. Then that homeless guy with the mask singing " do you like to masturbate" came by, such entertainment. We got to the show and took our spot behind the mixing board and watched DD, which was ok, i loved their Karma cover, that was really cool to hear. The NIN came on and For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen i just got totally hyper! The crowd was super energetic and i didn't stop jumping up and down until the end, i screamed out " don't you fucking know what you are" super loud that i made myself cough..lmao...fuck i ddn't care at all. It was so cool to hear everyone sing Hurt, i had tears in my eyes because of how real it felt to everyone! Wow...i was so sweaty and just...high...at the end when the show was over my guy friend, wanted to buy a t-shirt, and i wanted to get a poster, cuz i didn't have enough for a t-shirt, soi he bought the blue/grey t-shirt that has the NIN logo at the front and the " Live With_Teeh " stuff at the back, and then he just hands it to me. I asked him why and he said that it was too small, so i told him to go and get a bigger size but he insisted on giving it to me. That was just sweet.( you aren't by any chance on this board are you? ) hehehe. So while i didn't get to touch Trent or anything, my night was fucking awesome and i can't stop talking about it.

Was there a meet up afterwards? I didn't end up going cuz i was too tired ( from partying the night before at the hostel and such) so i just went back to the hostel. I walked all the way to King and Spadina...what a long walk but i was too riled up. Man, i would do it all over again.

I took some pictures with a disposable camera because i didn't want to risk having my digital confiscated but turns out that i could have brought it, oh well. They are not ready yet but as soon as they are i will post them hopefully they turned out well.

i recorded sound for this show and the one the night before. tonights came out really well minus bass making minor static as they crushed the haus during a few songs. that and the two pricks who felt it neccessary to yell out shit during the pauses in "hurt".

the previous nights show was more noisey as there seemed to be a load of frat boys at the back in a circle talking about how shitty the dolls were and commenting on every song. we don't need a history lesson during a show pricks!

i'll post more detail on this show and the last a little later. i'm in the middle of moving.

I was on the rail to the right. Security was extremly over zealous that night. They beat down a lot of people who didn't do anything. I don't remember the people who got hit, but I do remember the faces of two security guards who did most of it. They were pricks all night. I think Trent and the guys were pissed with them. Who ever was on the right side of the stage playing guitar (sorry, but he changes the line up too much for me to care) knocked the fan onto security twice and threw his guitar at them after a song too. They had a long break in the dark to retrieve it. After the show I lost my phone and security, a specific few, refused to give it back even though it was mine. They also withheld a couple's car keys and left us outside all night. I ended up having to go all the way back down to the venue in the afternoon the next day to get my phone back.

*Just a side note, I'd like to point out that the white security guards were pricks (most of them) and the black security guards were polite and even let me in when the place was closed to try and find my phone. That and it was only the white guys beating on people and insulting them for no reason from what I could see. And no, I'm not black.

Amazing Amazing experiance and i'm so glad i got to go.

I doubt it was you as you mentioned a guy friend, but there was a girl who was short a buck for something at the merch booth at the end of the show and the guy wouldn't sell her what she wanted. So I called out to see what she needed and I gave her $2. The whole night went well. I even got a wide, blue Tortex guitar pick that was tossed out at the end. Who used it? Somebody told me it was Trent. The fucking thing was shredded like a mother fucker. I could just barely make out the brand name.

Oh... and the highlight of the merch booth. Right after I gave the girl the $2 and she thanked me, the guy next to me was really dehydrated. He asked the guy to sell him one of the waters he had on the shelf beside him. I tried to tell him that not a few steps outside the doors you can get them for $2 from the hotdog vendors. The bar wanted $4 bucks a bottle. The prick at the merch booth made the guy pay $5 for the same water he had bought at the bar!

*Oh yeah, and I lost my cell phone there and security had it and wouldn't give it back. I couldn't get home without it so I spent the fucking night on the streets in Toronto. I didn't get the phone back until 4PM the next day.

I asked him why and he said that it was too small, so i told him to go and get a bigger size but he insisted on giving it to me. That was just sweet.( you aren't by any chance on this board are you? ) hehehe. So while i didn't get to touch Trent or anything, my night was fucking awesome and i can't stop talking about it.

Was there a meet up afterwards? I didn't end up going cuz i was too tired ( from partying the night before at the hostel and such) so i just went back to the hostel. I walked all the way to King and Spadina...what a long walk but i was too riled up. Man, i would do it all over again.

I took some pictures with a disposable camera because i didn't want to risk having my digital confiscated but turns out that i could have brought it, oh well. They are not ready yet but as soon as they are i will post them hopefully they turned out well.

The bar wanted $4 bucks a bottle. The prick at the merch booth made the guy pay $5 for the same water he had bought at the bar!

*Oh yeah, and I lost my cell phone there and security had it and wouldn't give it back. I couldn't get home without it so I spent the fucking night on the streets in Toronto. I didn't get the phone back until 4PM the next day.

Wow holy shit 5 bucks? That sucks about spending the night on the street, dude that's shitty luck.

And just in case your not in the know. The Guv is short for the Guvernment which is the club right beside the KoolHaus. Owned by the same people and they use the same security staff.

I can put up with the securty being SEMI dicks. They do need to instill some fear in the people at the club in order to maintain order...however....beating people for no reason is DEFINATLY crossing a line!!!

I wasn't trying to be a dick. The whole issue is that at our shows, it's always security that fucks up a good time. I can understand instilling fear for the sake of control, but I've done security myself at a number of punk concerts. I'm not a big guy. I usually get mocked by the patrons about it. So what? It's just a joke. I've never had to hit anyone. I've had a number of people get into fights or trash restrooms. I just tell them to stop and they stop. People tend to have a bit more respect for you if you're civil with them. Even guys who you know could crush you into nothing. At one concert I did security for, I was the only security guard there. It was small, about 300 people, but it was 3 floors. Everyone listened to me because I wasn't a dick. This one guy and his huge friend were just fucked out of their minds on something fighting with people and I talked them out. I'm sorry, but in most cases, force is really not needed. While most of the security were polite and helpful, there were a select few who were dicks and they were so from the get go before anything went down to begin with!

Mercedes - were you on the right side of the stage (on Jerome's side) where Leo was passing out water near the end of the show? The crowd was FAR more rambunctious the second night!!! That's why I put my hands on the rail - those of us in the front would have been squashed to a pancake. (well, one could argue we were anyways based on the amount of people who had to be pulled from the crowd at the end heh..)

I really enjoyed the second night better though. More Fragile songs and a better flowing set!
It was nice to see Trent again and it was nnice to see the crowd working together to help people out.

That would make sense but they're thinking money and the dorr they let us out of also happened to have the merch booth right there so, i guess that's why. I had no problem with security at all.

I discovered while I was at the show that the flash didn't work on the disposable camera I brought. So I didn't even bother.

Sounds like the concert was a fucking success, with battlescars to prove it. I'm rather fragile but, I will sacrifise myself to the pit one time or another. It's an experience you just can't pass up..besides, sometimes being particularly close to certain concert goers turns out for the best, NIN's fans rock the casbah!

As far as I can see, judging from past reviews we had the BEST NIN show... for gods sake,HE JUMPED IN THE CROWD!...i dont think he did that at any other show.... and the set list had a fair number of songs... sure, I really wanted to hear "Only" and "Everyday is....", but fuck, all concerts leave out some of your favs....i was a lil' let down by Twiggy, he was kinda bland, but North rocked the fuck out

If you were recording it from up front we must have crossed paths...I stayed up front ALL frikken night and never been that soaked in sweat in my life!

Will you be sharing your boot of this show? I can't tell you how cool it is listening to the one that's out - my own scream at the begining of the show is in there!!! If it's clearer than It'd be a nicer addition to the live shows from this tour.

ok, here's the deal on my recording. i just moved. i only have access to the internet on somebody else's computer. the burner on my computer isn't working and the only copies of the files are on that computer. until i'm able to either get the internet so i can send it to my friend's computer or replace my burner, there's mot much luck in my being able to distribute it. i do however intend on distributing it. it's going to take me some time. i spent the remainder of my money on the show. i'll put up a post when i'm able to properly send out the recordings to people. sorry!

Nope, had the flash off.
Surprisingly the ONLY photo that semi turned out was the one when i accidently forgot to turn the flash off, hah. however all you can really see is Trent in the shadows and the crowds heads, however his face is a little lit up, haha.

yea, but I left the flash on for the cure last summer and got nothing but heads around me and dark shadowy figures at the front.
Taking pictues has never been more of a pain in the ass.
If only they'd willingly let us bring cameras in and take whatever pix we want wre would have good pix. most of the time i am trying to be discreet about it otherwise the guards will gank my camera (yes it happened at TOOL they took it and yanked the film out inproperly damaging my camera (mind you it wasn't a VERY expensive camera, but if they pulled that stunt on my $200 Zoom camera they'd be buying me a new camera.

Hey, just wanted to let you guys know that there is a recording available on Dimeadozen of The Dresden Dolls set from that night.
I was there and when I heard that opening set again it brought back some nice memories.

Well I guess I'm a bit late with the whole picture posting, but I took a bunch of pictures and I was one of the lucky ones to have Trent land on me as well.

I just wish I could have breathed during the show..lol

here are some more pics from the show.

Some of the black and white ones will be rescanned in color. The place I got them developed had issues so they gave me two sets of pictures for free.

My friend has one I took on her camera of Trent's hand when he landed on us...but I don't have it right now.

Lol..don't worry about it.
The pictures still came out, and that's all that matters.

Besides, the hand sticking out is kinda interesting.

I had such an incredible time at this concert. I think I mighta bought a few too many doubles before dresden dolls really got into their set..

In any event, my highlight was holding up the girl that I went to see the concert with - Shenie! Even though I missed some of the concert from trying to get her up to the front/up on the shoulders it was so much worth it...

OK.. I feel sufficiently pathetic now..

2 men with short hair led by a stunning red head plough through NIN fans. Red head hoisted up on shoulders at front row center. That was us.

I'd like to apologise for being so ... "determined" to some people (and to all those that got a mere brush-by and rolled their eyes, fuck you!). We had a strategy of putting the really good looking one in the group (female) in the front, then me (the muscle) would seperate groups of people from around the females waist with my arms thus garnering very little resentment.

As hard as I tried to part the bodies, I couldn't get both the girl I was with and myself into the first or second row - people just wouldn't give it up.. And who can blame them? (save me!)

Last year for the Ministry concert my friend and I fought almost to the front and since that was so exhausting (hard to breath etc etc) I decided to hang back at the edge of the crowd for this concert.

She didnt though, and just like Field Of Dreams off into the cornfield (crowd) she disappeared.

She did end up making it up to the front right of the stage where she told me afterwards that is where all the "short girls" go.

I was somewhat pussed at the situation of the people there. I was pretty much front and center (which was my intention, though I was trying to be first row) but I had these really tall people in front of me, refusing to move so I could see.

Mind you that I'm 5'1" so anyone much taller than that makes it so I can't see jack. I tried pushing on people, but some were quite determined to stay where they were, so I stayed put, moving people's hair out of the way so I could see.

I was close enough to the front to be one of the lucky few Trent landed on (scared the hell out of me because I didn't really see it coming. I saw that devious look of his and I blinked and next thing I know he's on me and the people around me. I think I have a picture of his hand. Stupid disposable cameras...lol)

It really was wonderful, but since I'm so short, I had virtually no oxygen. Therefore I spent half the show in a sort of euphoria because there was no oxygen to my body. Strangest feeling and it was very disturbing.

Later on, I had some very nice Canadian guy help me not get squashed (normally I can handle myself, but lack of oxygen means I don't have any energy to defend myself) and some guy came up from the bar section being all cold, which I practically begged him to let me touch him since I was roasting so badly. He asked me if I wanted to go up for a bit so I could breathe and whatnot... so he ended up holding me for Hurt (I'm pretty sure) and I got air which hadn't been previously breathed out. Whoever he was, I thank him.

After the show, I hung out looking for Trent and the other band members, because I had nothing better to do. I also wanted to thank them for such a great experience. A few of us were hanging out on the back side figuring they'd try to sneak him out (I had heard the night before that Trent had stopped and talked to some of the fans) but someone told us to go up front. (They did end up sneaking him out...the bastards..) I got to say hi to Aaron, and some French Canadian guy was trying to get him to flip off a camera, and he kept saying he didn't do that.
I thanked him for such a great show and said it meant a lot to me. He signed my ticket (using my cell phone as a surface) and then he had to disappear into the bus.

Overall, totally worth the hours of driving.
I live in northern NY, so we had about 4 hours or so of driving.

I took a bath when I got home so I could get rid of that nasty cheesy-onion smell of BO from everyone.
Sick.

i went to the show and had an amazing time, best concert i've ever seen! i'm a huge fan, own all the albums and there's one thing that's bothering me..maybe it's already been discussed and i didn't bother reading all 12 pages of posts, but.... i could swear that they played two songs that are not posted on the page one setlist for this concert. i absolutly swear that they played "Perfect Drug" and "I do not want this". is it me? am i taking crazy pills. i want to know the exact setlist so i can make a playlist of it for my ipod. does this sound familar to anyone else?
