forget my bitching about the Saturday show... tonight's assault just blew apart my definition of an amazing show!

i'm sure someone else will have an accurate setlist to post, but when you get Getting Smaller, Love is Not Enough, The Big Come Down, TDTWWA, and Even Deeper - you just have to accept that you will be destroyed.

the most insane thing happened during HLAH when Aaron climbed up the stage PA. some bloke jumped down from the balcony and landed on the upper stack. Mr. North gave the crazy dude his guitar to play a few licks at the very end of the song. it would have been awesome had the motherfucker not showed his ass to everyone, but that's what happens when you live in the south.

more coherent thoughts will come tomorrow, but of the two nights in Atlanta... Sunday just killed Saturday by leaps and bounds. TR's intensity was simply incredible. i said goddamn!

Are you sure it was a guy?
Master of the Ninth Arch
yeah... i would have given kudos if a chick had bared her ass atop the PA stack. that's how fucking sexist i am.

You can view PICS AND MOVIES FROM THIS SHOW AND YESTERDAY AT WWW.PIGHUT.COM goto the news page and visit our site for thanks. All material will be up on this site by 2:00am We put a lot of effort for those to enjoy the show after the show and for those who couldn't score tickets.

The show was even better than last night. full energy all the way through until the very end. I'm convinced this is the best i've seen nine inch nails before. Trent came out firing. setlist is as follows

1. Beside you in time (intro over pa)
2. Wish
3. You know what you are
4. The line begins to blur
5. March of the pigs
6. piggy
7. Terrible LIe
8. BURN
9. closer (the only time)
10. reptile
11. The decay within (thank you!)
12. Gave up
13. The day the whole world went away (rocked)
14. Suck
15. Getting smaller
16. Even deeper
17. Love is not enough (suprised me a lot, very good)
18. Hurt
19. The hand that feeds
20. Head like a hole

Some guy climbed from the balcony onto the speaker cabinet and the guitarist gave the guy his guitar to fuck with. The guy had his 15 seconds of fame and is now in jail or maybe home. Trent thanked the crowd and the resden dolls went as far to say atlanta has been the best stop yet. Trent looks like conan the barbarian and the band looked and sounded great.. Enjoy!!!

Again check www.pighut.com for pretty much the whole show on video and pics. it will be up by 2am

What the fuck is that?

I think he meant to say The Big Comedown
I'm waiting for when Trent decides to play an intermission of Closer, A Perfect Drug, A Warm Place, Something I Can Never Have and finally, Mark Has Been Made (Fragility style), then back into the heavy style...

Show rocked.
Master Traveler
i know the guy that was on top of the speakers, he bought my extra ticket. he is not in jail, they let him go. details later.
Master Traveler
OPPS! I meant the big comedown...not worth discussing my fuck up.
The most amazng shit i've seen in my life!!! Details later....

This night was fuckin beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Trent was all over the place. I'm not going to say it was better than Saturday, I'm going to say each show had their own place. Right where they belong....pardon my cheezyness..lol. I'm tired,d eaf and beaten. I'm going to bed.

"TURN MY MIC ON YOU MOTHERFUCKIN COCKSUCKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" haha
The show was amazing. That includes the Dresden Dolls.... they were very nice and I had the pleasure of talking with Brian and getting their autographs twice. Its a shame that nin would not sign anything but hey at least trent smiled and waved at us before he almost killed himself tripping over that bag while walking to the bus heh... anyway, by far the best concert I've seen! Aaron is crazy!
Bricklayer
I have 3 words for this show:

holy fucking shit!

I have seen NIN everytime they have played Atlanta since 1994. This is by far, the best performace I have seen. I was completely blown away!! Opening with Wish was awesome. I am very bummed though that they played Something I Can Never Have Saturday night and I missed it!!!!! But I was very excited to get to hear Burn and Reptile live. The mic fuck up during Piggy was funny- Trent: "Anyone who wants to join my road crew come backstage after the show".

As far as the Dresden Dolls go, I was so impressed! I had heard a couple of their songs on the radio, and wasn't sure if I would like them. But they are awesome live!!!! Great opener, the crowd really seemed to get into them. Drummer is awesome.

Pretty awesome mix from both shows! Only disappointment is not seeing Every Day Is Exactly The Same or With Teeth, as he has played these at other shows on this tour. Other than that, the shows were absolutely incredible. I've seen them numerous, numerous times and these were two of their better performances ever. Trent is buffed out which is definitely an inspiration. There were mic problems both nights. On Saturday, the mic went out during the first two lines of Closer, prompting Trent to stop the song, throw a minor tantrum and eventually get a working mic. You would think that after one night of problems, that they would be fixed for Sunday's show....Well during Piggy, Trent went pretty berserk after experiencing more problems prompting him to chuck a ton of water bottles into the crowd (and one to the side of the stage with intent to cause bodily harm) along with every mic he could find (I bet those made for some great souveniers for the people who caught them!). Trent made a great comment saying something to the effect of "If anyone wants to join the road crew, just see me after the show".

At the end of the Sunday night show, Aaron climbed the amp stack on his side of the stage during the last notes of Head Like A Hole and a fan jumped/slid down some power cables from the balcony and landed on a stack just above Aaron. What does Aaron do? Hands the dude his guitar!! The fan got to hammer out a few chords before graciously giving the guitar back to a roadie. Then in true southern fashion, he proceeds to moon the crowd.

I do have to wonder who "Tiffany" is. Before playing Hurt, Trent said he dedicated it ("since we don't have any happy songs, this is the closest we could do") to "Tiffany" who was in the balcony and was attending her first shows.

The crowd was the biggest I've seen for any Tabernacle shows and they were totally into it each night, even for the openers (Dresden Dolls). All in all it was a great weekend downtown....can't wait for the fall arena tour!!
Master of the Ninth Arch
VERY AWESOME WEEKEND! I do hope those mic problems don't persist. oh and that guy at the end who got on the amps and took aaron's guitar-- HA HA HA HA!! He even mooned the audience. and yeah is probably in jail now, but hey that is rock and roll.

i will post a more detailed review soon on my myspace page soon. Great fucking weekend!

read the other posts in the thread :-p

I already said, he wasn't arrested
If you took the time to read the rest of the reviews in the tour journal, this problem with equipment and Trent's tantrums are rather usual... I myself am wondering if it is staged, considering its happened so many times.
Bricklayer
You know, I have to say that I actually wondered the same thing. The Sunday night incident was curious because I could not detect what the problem was. He pointed down and to his left (maybe at a monitor?) and then wigged out.

I hope it doesn't progress to the "organized stage destruction" that occured during Happiness In Slavery during the TDS arena tour.

For the time being, I'll side with Trent that there actually are problems. Definitely something to keep watch of.
Bricklayer
It looks like we really lucked out on Sunday too, as far as new material goes. Everyone kept saying that they weren't playing much from the new album, and looking over the past setlists, alot only have 3 or so songs from With Teeth. We got to hear like 5! I was pleased!
Bricklayer
At the beginning of Piggy, it looked like TR walked across Aaron's pedals/equipment, got tangled in Aaron's mic stand, then threw his own mic down and into the audience. He quickly followed by throwing a second mic into the audience. When he got another mic handed to him by a roadie, *I* thought I heard him say "that's right, turn the mics on you cocksucking motherfucker". So, I thought he was upset that the soundboard guy had switched off the mics he tossed into the crowd.

Then, he threw a full bottle of water straight at soundboard guy's head, which would have hit him squarely, if soundboard guy hadn't ducked really fast.

To top it all off, he said "anyone who wants to join my road crew, just come backstage after the show".

Priceless.
Master Traveler
Holy shit... that was single handedly the most amazing night of my life, The Dresden Dolls alone were worth the ticket, I gotta say, the drummer was funny as hell, just watching his exspressions.

As for NIN... I thought Trent was just being egotistical or something when he said he'd destroy us.... But it was a warning, opening up with "Wish" was incredable, they played all of my favorite songs, I had the biggest smile in my face when they started the intro to Reptile.

I got Aaron North's pick, it landed on some guys forearm next to me, I guess he was too drunk to notice (he stumbled alot), so I tried as stealthly as I can to grab it, but when I almost got it it fell off his arm, well another kid saw it and he dove, eventualy I found it. It was a bitch getting it because I have no nails, but it was mine, I scrambled back up for air and held the pick up Zelda style.

I must say, the Tabernacle is the most fitting venue for NIN, it's a church.
Master Traveler
All i can say is WOW.. fist NIN show.. i missed fragility.. but this made up for it.. What an amazing performance by trent and the guys.. Aaron was going nuts.. it was awesome.. i was about 2 people behind the first row on the floor, dead center.. crowd wasnt as insane as i thought it might be, which was good. We drove up to atlanta from orlando on saterday evening.. arrived 12am.. 7 hour drive. slept.. woke up.. went to the venue at 3.. some lucky kids ran into the band at the hard rock and met them all / got autographed lithographs.. bastards! saw trent and the guys get off the bus and go into the venue.. waved at trent! then went into the show.. dresdon dolls were pretty cool. not my cup of tea though.. then NIN.. fuckin amazing. then we got out the the venue at 10:45.. took the train to where i had parked my car.. drove back to orlando and arived here at 7:00am.. pretty crazy trip. Had lots of fun.. can't wait to see NIN again.
monday....i'm still in shock I could go on about how incredible this weekend was sufice to say NIN and Co.are back on track with the best album since PHM.I hope to hear the album preformed in full during the fall show.money is no object THIS is what I work FOR!God bless you trent for giving us as much as we can stand and then some!Atlanta ROCKS the TABERNACLE will never be same with out NINE. by the way does anyone know the story behind the two bears left outside the building? also never never depend on public trans to get you to a show I mean how much faith do you have in goverment?
Master Traveler
i saw nin last night in atlanta, i am a different creature than i was just yesterday afternoon. it amazes me that i actually feel changed and more in touch with my self and the world. i hope to sustain and elaborate on this new outlook i have been given. to quote tool, i am 'spiraling out' at a rapid rate of speed. i have reached a new level, and my dreams seem closer and more tangible than ever. this may sound funny, or self important, or cliche...but i am being very sincere...last night nin changed my life, i will never be the same.

i met up with a sweetheart of a girl from the ets messageboards who flew in by herself from nyc to see the show. she hung out with me and my friends and completely amazed us with her genuine presence (@ just 5'1'') and all around great disposition. it's official larissa, we all loved you and want you to come back real soon!

let's go ahead and get this out of the way right now...i was rolling, and despite what you might think about drug use and it's downfalls, if there were ever a time and a place to do this it was here. all my senses were heightened, and i was completely immersed in the crisp, clean wall of sound that is nin. i was one big chill bump the whole time! when trent said, "i'm jesus f ck...on ecstasy" (suck) i just had to laugh, turn around to my friends, smile and point to the goofy grin on my face...priceless! sorry to babble...now to the review!

lotta broken: they opened with wish (beside you in time intro)
and played suck & gave up

fragile: the day the whole world went away!!!!!
the big come down (just sublime)

downward spiral: march of the pigs, piggy*,hurt, reptile!!!!!! (just sickeningly powerful and menacing), closer
*during the "nothing can stop me now" mantra trent just started hurling microphones into the audience, tethered by their chords. (trent has the coolest stage "gimmicks" going and i buy into them wholeheartedly...yes the technical difficulties/freakouts are probably staged, who cares, that shit gets you so pumped up when you see him teetering on the edge of composure!!!)

pretty hate: terrible lie, head like a hole (finale)

with teeth: the line begins to blur (so slow and majestic ("is there somebody on top of me?...i don't know, i don't know!")), hand that feeds, getting smaller (i didn't like this song, but now i do...it has new meaning after seeing it live, it is relevant and it belongs) love is not enough, you know what you are (2nd song)...f cking jerome man, machine precision!!!

natural born: burn "i'm gonna burn this whole world down!"

dresden dolls highlights were the two covers (warpigs & karma police feat. jerome)

as posted earlier, aaron climbed to the top of his double stack...this guy, swung like tarzan (on huge speaker cables) from the balcony and perched on a stack just above aaron who high fived him and gave him his guitar...the crowd was going apeshit and it must have been an unbelievable rush to be up there receiving all that energy! he should've dove off!!!

i'm sure i'm missing some songs (see above posts), they played about 20 of them and i absorbed every second of it like a sponge. the crowd was live and friendly, great vibes all around...hugs were free and generous, my group of friends is tighter than ever, and larissa was a big part of that! thank you, thank you, thank you nine inch nails!

Hey man tiffany is a girl who has cancer and this was her first nin concert or even first concert period ever. That was great of him to do.

Another thing is we got trent saying that during piggy in one of our videos. We have the full show, both night, taped and looks and sounds great. check www.pighut.com for updates from that show. We will be swapping out pics and videos. Trying to maintain bandwidth at the same time.
Bricklayer
That is really awesome about Tiffany. So nice that artists like Trent will take the time to recognize people like this.

Sometimes it's easy to take for granted how lucky we are to just be able to attend the shows at will.
Master Traveler
AnalogVoid, by any chance were you wearing a T-Shirt with that on? If so I saw you, I was behind you a bit with the orange shirt on.

Now I listen to the CD versions of the songs he played (for instance: Reptile) and I just notice how much better it is live.

Any chance we'll have a recording? I could have snuck anything in there, the guys searched me twice but neither bothered to check the jacket in my hand.
Master Traveler
yes, that was me wearing the shirt. pretty close to the front.

did anyone else see when someone through a bra at trent and it hit him during TDTWWA and he looked kinda pissed lol. poor trent.. i heard, but did not see, that someone was crowdsurfing towards trent while he was playing guitar and they tried to high five him and trent just looked at them like "you idiot, im playing guitar!"

DUDE!!! ramsey, you and your friends made the trip so worth it. especially, since i did come down by myself, and you guys made my last nin show THE BEST FUCKING EVER!!! and i will DEFINTELY be back!! that's for damn sure.

now, im going to un-pack and collect myself from this weekend. i have pics and vid from the shows. and SSSSOOOOOOOO much to say. i just dont know how to put it into words right now, but i'll be back to post my weekend's happening!!
I actually got to meet Trent before the show at Hard Rock Cafe and he was so incredibly nice and took a pic with me. It was such an incredible concert. I would have loved to hear Something I can never have but, the set list was amazing who could complain.
Hey that bra that got thrown at him was freakin HUGE. He said something like "nice aim you cocksucker" or something like that. It hit him right in the face.
The crowd was so great and so into it. It was one of the best concerts I have ever been to and meeting Trent was a treat that I never thought I would have.
Bricklayer
I was next to the girl who's bra it was. She was a big girl. Her boyfriend threw it at Trent. It was a good shot. I wouldn't have touched the bra though.
Master Traveler
that was a bra? lol. i thought it was a SHIRT!!!

What really happened was he grabbed for the mic without looking and almost lost his balance. I could see that look of "what-the-fuck" on his face which would not be intended for the show. I think he just felt embarrassed and started fucking up shit. He stood right in front of us and tossed a mic right above my head after saying someting into the mic (I was on the rail in front of Jeordie all night). Did anybody catch any of his rantings cuz I certainly couldn't understand him. Anyway, I wrapped the cord all around my fingers. Yah! I was studying him pretty much the whole show and made eye-contact with him a few times. Wee!
So, I made it to both shows, but, unfortunately, I don't remember the first one very well  . haha. The second night, I was really mellow, so I really enjoyed the Dresden Dolls' set. However, I did not enjoy having my testicles firmly pressed to the wall during NIN's set. I thought my torso was going one way and my legs the other (but, of course, what should I expect, right?). I've never seen so many people wearing the shirt of the band they were going to see (as if it were some kind of sporting event in which people had to make it obvious which team they were supporting).
I've come to the realization that NIN has just as many stupid fans as any other act and that I just cannot relate to much of the lyrical content. I really wanted hear about half of "With Teeth" but was very satisfied to hear: "The Day the World Went Away," "Love Is Not Enough," "Hurt," "The Line Begins to Blur," "Something I Can Never Have," "Gave Up," "The Hand That Feeds" and "Head Like a Hole" (two protest songs consecutively= super!). Either way, it was the best concert experience I've ever had and look forward to seeing the live band again. In addition, I only paid face value for my tickets (which is great). We also got lots of great pictures with a camera-phone from both shows...I mean rrrrealy good pics. I'm on Myspace.com if anyone is interested.
Bricklayer
no shirt my friend, just a nasty sweaty big ass bra. the two of them were getting pretty into the show. i hope they dont breed.

Does anyone know where I can download the audio from either show?

what a great day sunday was...got there early and met some really cool folks (from kingsport, tn and ocala, fl) and hung with them in line all day and then met-up afterwards to hang a bit before it was time to leave.

the show was amazing.

the dresden dolls were amazing...i had listened to the clips on their site, but live they were just awesome...brian is an insane drummer (i don't think his ride cymbal was mic'd, yet you could hear it clearly from what the other mics in his kit would pick up - that's how hard he played) and amanda was right-on: keys, voice, persona, etc...they made MANY new fans tonight (and i'm sure through the whole tour) and it was really cool to meet them and share a few words afterwards...very personable and friendly - highlights from the dolls' set were war pigs and half-jack (although their whole set was amazing for a 1st time listener).

nin was unreal. the new lineup was tight. aaron is a nut - i don't know how he hasn't broken his wrist yet when he flings his guitar about like that...while holding the chords! trent was more buff than i thought from pix - his arms are huge! the setlist was great. lighting was very good and effective for a small venue. sound was crystal clear in the first row of the lower balcony...i love the tabby! highlights from nin were: wish, piggy (with trent's tantrum - i liked how he kicked or threw the thumb piano into the pit where his mic techs were, but he had one to hold at the end of the song), burn!!!!, the big comedown, reptile, and suck. the new songs sound good...looking forward to hearing with teeth, ediets, right where it belongs, and only.

in the thtf video on PIGHUT, that is my girlfriend and i...she is the one adjusting her glasses and i am to her left (she was worried they would fall off and over the rail onto the floor)...i had no idea you guys were back there filming - cool! and the bitch with the pink hair (seen in the video for wish and thtf) should have been thrown over the railing - she and her friend had seats about 4-5 rows back and then rushed to the rail at the beginning of nin...all that would have maybe been ok, but instead she moved into the front row and stood/danced/flailed/head-banged/etc right in front of the guy with the front-row seat - and he let her! dumb brat. oh well.

it was a great show and well worth the $$ (damn ebay scalpers), drive down, and wait in line. looking forward to the arena tour with better lights/video and more songs from WT.

favorite nin quotes during the piggy tirade:
"turn the fucking microphone on you fucking cocksuckers!"
"anyone want to be in the crew? come around back after the show" (something to that effect)
both garnered good cheers/laughs from the crowd.

hope everyone made it home safely.

the new songs sound good...looking forward to hearing with teeth, ediets, right where it belongs, and only.
with teeth and ediets are the songs i really wanted to hear, but hey he gave us love is not enough and the line begins to blur, so no complaints here. just have to wait until fall. i have a feeling the fall tour will be the best nin shows of the year. trent is saving his best for those in the states

my friend and i were wondering if we were the only ones to have ever seen that movie PCU. "Dont be that guy."
That was my first comment about the crowd, just from passing people on my way to the end of the line. "Holy shit...there are a LOT of 'That Guys' tonight." Once we were in the venue, the number seemed to triple, and I just tried to convince myself that a lot of them were people who bought shirts and didn't feel like hanging onto them.

Okay, first off, to the drunken bitch who stole my spot, FUCK YOU. I was standing behind the mixing boards all fucking night, in the middle of Suck, I let some people pass through, she came up, and STOPPED right in my fucking spot. She kept spilling beer on the cabinets in the mixing area, everyone was pissed at her. She was drunk as fuck. I didn't really mind after a while because she was grinding back into me...not too shabby.

Dresden Dolls were interesting. Liked a few songs, Half Jack was fucking awesome. Karma was gooood, War Pigs was good. Coin Operated Boy was.....uh....

NIN fucking rocked, of course. Piggy was hilarious. Set was good, wished they played With Teeth, Beside You In Time and Right Where It Belongs.

Aaron was good, loved him at the end, with the guy who jumped down on the amp stack....hilarity.

I was blown away. The best three hours of my life.

And to top it off...

I met the Good Doctor himself. Yes, folks, I got Trent Reznor to sign my ticket and a $5 bill. Along with the bassist, Rob Sheridan, the Dresden Dolls, and the dude who showed his ass to everyone after HLAH. Rock!

That was the most awesome way to lose my concert virginity. The biggest surprise for me was when they played "Even Deeper"... I was on my knees at the start of every song thanking whoever the hell made it possible to see this show and be there that moment.

But special thanks to go to Greg (DownwardHope) and all the guys I rocked out with. Greg saved us a spot in line and we got awesome balcony seats.

I think I can die happy now.

thanks so much for the awesome time, you know who you are. (chatanooga, tn ; ocala, fl)

thanks again for the friendship,

Just got back to Tennessee and Sunday's show was fucking amazing. 3 people back from the barrier and still hurting from the show and hallucinating from lack of sleep.

The genius that jumped off the balcony was an interesting close to the night up until he mooned the audience.. that takes some class.

Dresden Dolls special thank you to the south for being the best audience they have had makes me proud to live in such a friendly part of the country.

No time to write anything worthwhile - I'm going to pass out now.

Wow. What an awesome show. My 2nd NIN show ever.

We arrived at the venue at around 3. Got our tickets (thanks ninplease) and stood around waiting for Trent and Co. to get off the tour bus. After 2 hours or so of waiting rumors had spread that they had just finished eating at Hard Rock Cafe and some people had just run into him on the street. 15 minutes passed then someone (who I believe is an ETS member, i'm not sure) showed us his Atlanta lithograph signed by all members of the band (which was awesome, I might add). Then about 5 minutes later Trent's bus came in and we watched Leo, Jeordie, Rob, Trent, Jerome and Alessandro walk into the venue.

The show itself was good. I met alot of people that were there for the Saturday show as well and said it was awesome. I was actually suprised by the size of the venue. I expected it to be alot bigger. Anyways, we we're towards the front of the line and met a bunch of people from Kentucky. I noticed alot of people were from Kentucky, Tennessee and other states. When I showed my ID to the guy giving out the 21+ bracelets he said "I can't believe how many people from Florida are here". We entered the venue and got a spot on the floor with about 5 people in front of me and right between Trent and Aaron. I was wearing my ETS shirt which we made right before we left for Atlanta.

The show started and the Dresden Dolls were awesome. The crowd was really into it and the cover of War Pigs was awesome. Jerome came out for Karma Police too. They seemed like they were just getting warmed up during the last two songs. I could have watched them play more.

NIN was awesome. They were playing one of my favorite songs New Order-Ceremony (which is really a joy division song) when the Beside You In Time intro starting playing. The lights went out and they opened with Wish and the place exploded. I would jump in the air and never come down because the floor was so tight. It got a bit rough down there, but calmed down after TDTWWA. The mic broke during Piggy and TR went crazy. He threw it into the crowd and everyone dove for it. Some girl thought she broke her leg when that happened. They played a good amount of material from each album. If I recall correctly we had about 4 songs from WT, 4 songs from TDS and assorted others. They closed with HLAH and some idiot jumped from the balcony onto the speaker where Aaron was. He started yelling and then after the band walked off the stage Aaron handed him the guitar and walked off. He ATTEMPTED to play and was yelling then handed the guitar to a security guard. He then procedded to yell even more and lifted his shirt up. Then he mooned the crowd. I REALLY could have done without that. All in all, the show was awesome. Aaron is fucking crazy. He was running around throwing his guitar around. Jeordie did seem kinda bored at time, but Trent got him into it at a few points. Alessandro was kind of hidden back there, I didn't see much of him or Jerome. Trent of course, was on his game. Very active. Jumping around, tossing his mic stand and yelling.

Highlight songs of the night:
-Wish
-Reptile
-The Big Come Down
-The Hand That Feeds

A big 'fuck you' to:
-The longhaired idiot on the floor who was on some kind of drug. He was VERY VERY annoying and was draped all over everyone.
-Crowdsurfers. I couldn't have been kicked in the head anymore times. This isn't Pearl Jam and this isn't 1992.
-Everyone that was like 'hey man, enjoy the show, but i don't care i'm going right up front.' and then continued to elbow everyone to get up to the front. I mean, I can understand jumping around and some pushing and shoving. But some people were retarded.

Special Thanks to:

-analogvoid, for driving
-the people of Atlanta, who were very friendly.
-Trent and the gang for putting on an awesome show.

HoLLy Shit
i've been reading this tour diary since the very beginning of the tour
Im from Mexico and i cant wait no more to enjoy NIN!
Huge fan since 95! TDS era!

well, here is fact....

NIN, as you already know, will play in Mexico city on june 2nd! I think that in Mexico city would probably have some changes in the setlist! I mean..right now is beyond excellence! but since "SPort Palace" is a really big venue.. ( i think this is the first big venue for this tour...so far, excluiding Coachella..)

Sport Palace can keep 21,000 souls screaming for NINE INCH NAILS.
FUcking awesome will be!!

well...hope to write soon my own review when NIN rocks Mexico City right here

A chaotic one....for one of the most chaotic cities in the world!

NiCe!

ok, now that im back home and i've SOMEWHAT collected my thoughts i can now post my trip to HOT-lanta.

May 21, 2005
NYC, sitting at the airport. 12:30pm. im getting ready to board my plane to Atlanta. im standing in the front of the gate to board when i hear a voice say "excuse me". as i turn to say "sure", i got to "su"...and saw Mr. Trent (holy GOD) Reznor walk right past me and onto my plane. I STOPPED BREATHING!!! i called my boyfriend and told him "guess who's on my plane RIGHT NOW!!!? TRENT IS ON MY PLANE!!!" i composed myself as i got on. as the plane takes off and levels off to where we can get around i run to a flight attendant. im hyperventaliting at this point.

ME:"ms, you have to hear me out RIGHT NOW!!! *breathe* there is a man on this plane that i am a HHHUUUGGEEEEE fan of. i dont know exactly where he is sitting but i need to know. "

FA: "well, i dont what he looks like" LAUGHS

ME: "his name is trent reznor. i believe he is in first class."

FA: "i'll go check. wait right here"

as im waiting im learning how to stand on my feet again and DYING for a drink, a pill, ANYTHING to calm me down. lol

FA: "yes he is on the plane. i told him you wanted his autograph. HE'S SO NICE!!! "

as she's saying this im freaking the FUCK out!!! I grabbed a pen, papper and my ticket (i had an extra since my friend couldnt come along at the last minute but i brought it anyway to give at the venue). i hand it to her and she tells me to wait. she comes back and she hands it to me.

FA: "he's so nice and he was very happy to do it!!"

ok, so im back in my seat SHITTING a brick. im DYING to talk to him, but i didnt want to hassel him on the plane (or that i didnt want to "attack" him in such an enclosed space....LMAO). the flight attendant told me to wait my the plane door to talk to him, that was the best thing to do. so im waiting at the door letting people filter out. THERE HE IS!!!! WALKING RIGHT TOWARD ME!!! *about to collapse* im weaving in and out of passangers, manuvering my way to him.

ME: "mr Reznor....."

TR: "yes"

ME: "im the young lady what asked for your autograph. but i just had to thank you so much. i really appreciate it"

TR: *smiles* "not a problem......"

the conversation escalates from there. as to why he was flying from NY (of course court issuses), how he spent his B-day, the tour, him, me, how HOT he is, etc. the one moment i will never forget is this...

ME: "you know, you're alot taller in person"

TR: *smiles and laughs* "you're the first person to EVER tell me that"

well, if you have ever been to Atlanta airport its huge. so this conversation has be going a while. all the while im staring at him non-chalantly as i possibly can do while consentrating on breathing and walking at the same time. i dont have to say i was hard at concentrating on the very fact i was literally walking hand and hand with the very man that i idolize and think is complete genius. i continued to tell him that its an honor be talking to him since my first encounter went so terrible (well, at least in my mind). that this is a way for me to redeem myself from that and that he's so sweet to take time out to talk to my retarded self. I'VE NEVER SEEN HIM SMILE SO MUCH IN MY LIFE!!! I LOVED IT!!! he continued to shake my hand and say nicely how nice it is to hear that. i posed with a nice pic with him, and when he wrapped his arm around me i MELTED!!! i lost all track of time and space at that time. i wanted it to last forever that moment, or to just go in slow-mo so it would last forever. he took my name and put me on his guest list that night for the show. i got a ticket and a back-stage pass (he fore-warned me that he PROBABLY wouldnt be at the afterparty). AGAIN, i thanked him (i wanted to hug him, but i didnt want to push my luck or get arrested for molesting him on the spot...LMAO), we grabbed our bags, and i said thanks again, shooks hands and we went our seperate ways.

later that night, i went to the Saturday show. INSTANTLY made friends with a security guard there (Mike ironically is his name) and he looked out for me the whole night. also have to thank my NEW best-friends Ramsey who gave great advice as to where to go in the venue to see the show. The Tabernacle is a great venue. blows any of these NY places to pieces. i stood literally front row off the side and saw Mr. Reznor drip the whole night. my security friend kept passing me free water to drink and keeping the goons off me. all the while im taking pics and vid clips of the show. I LOVED IT!!! afterwards, i met a gentleman from Virginia (William) who was SUPER nice and wanted copies of my pics. i was MORE than happy to do so.

backstage. THERE'S NOTHING!!! since im all alone i meet a VERY nice young lady (Mildred-you're a bad girl..lol.) and we hung out by the backstage door. we got to meet the dresden dolls, they signed our cds and were very nice. then security tells us to move (which we've been standing there for 30 min in NO ONE'S WAY). we stand outside next to the bus, and security comes to us and tells us to move AGAIN!!! by this time im PISSED!!! all i wanted to do was thank Mr. Reznor and leave it be. but we were escorted away. a second later, the band comes out FOLLOWED by these "barely legal" goth chicks. EW!!! so i guess i wasnt one of the "beautiful people" to get back BACK stage. OH WELL!! still had a kick ass time.

Sunday May 22, 2005.
now i will say right off, NOW knowing that he was AT the hard rock i want to kick myself for not going. i was debating it then decided to stay in cause i was resting from the night before. but DAMN ME FOR NOT GOING. anyway, my newest BESTEST friend calls me to let me know that him and his friends are there at the venue. i head over and hang with the coolest people in ATLANTA!!! Ramsey, Sara, Jay, Chris, Greg are the most awesome crew ever!!! we hung outside till 8-ish and headed in. WE LOVED IT!! they made me have the best time at a show EVER!! between the awesome crowd (aside from the dude what threw that "bra" on stage, and the swinging fan), seeing NIN yet again i had a kick ass time. i was nice to finally see a show with people that love NIN as much as i do. they made the show so much better than me being by myself everytime. besides, we all love the same music we just had fun hanging out. we even hung out AFTERWARDS!! the night was great until we got HARRASSED with a homeless guy that i had to run in car and drive away. LMAO.

Monday May 23, 2005.
Homeward bound. nothing spectacular. just got on the plane and was home.

now that i've finally put into words about my weekend, it doesnt compare to or come close to how i feel. no words can describe my feelings. like the song says "i left my heart in san fransico"- i left my heart in ATLANTA!!! it may sound corny and cheesy, but i cant put it any other way!!!

to everyone in Atlanta and to eveyone i met, THANK YOU!!! XOXOXOOXOXOXO

Hey guys, I uploaded the pics from the second night in Atlanta. I was on the lower balcony for this show since I was on the floor for the secnod show. I wanted to experience a show from both sides. I didn't take as many pictures this time around, but did take some vidoes which I will post links to once I upload them to another site ( uploading them on my site will drain my bandwidth ) I have some pic of the dude who jumped on the stacks and a video of him mooning the crowd. Here are the links.

it's all true folks, i've got the pictures to prove it. larissa came into town by herself and ruled it! she told me she was on the verge of not coming as well. it just goes to show you, if you have the right outlook and attitude you can come into town a complete stranger and make your own reality...then leave a legend! like i said before, we want you back soon boo!

well, if you have ever been to Atlanta airport its huge. so this conversation has be going a while. all the while im staring at him non-chalantly as i possibly can do while consentrating on breathing and walking at the same time. i dont have to say i was hard at concentrating on the very fact i was literally walking hand and hand with the very man that i idolize and think is complete genius. i continued to tell him that its an honor be talking to him since my first encounter went so terrible (well, at least in my mind). that this is a way for me to redeem myself from that and that he's so sweet to take time out to talk to my retarded self.

I'm glad I can post here without a username, since mine seems to have been eaten. I was right next to the aisle on the balcony that the guy leapt off of to get on top of the stacks. I remember thinking "if I had on different shoes, I could make that and be on stage before anyone could stop me..." His biggest mistake was hitting the soundboard when he jumped down.

Awesome show saturday and sunday. I was front and center for both shows. Only one upsetting thing...

A big FUCK YOU to the hot topic goth bitch who crowd surfed up to the front and stole the setlist that was promised to me. I waited for a total of 30+ hours for both shows to be first, and drove a total of 12 hours only to have some cunt steal my setlist...fuck her.

Other than that, fucking awesome.

That is insane. I swear I saw like 20 girls with the same fucking corset. It was hillarious. Gotta love the hot topic goths....to freakin funny.

Sorry that your set list got taken :( that is terrible...I think after waiting since 6 in the morning you could have taken her just with rage :)
disko_stew wrote:what a great day sunday was...got there early and met some really cool folks (from kingsport, tn and ocala, fl) and hung with them in line all day and then met-up afterwards to hang a bit before it was time to leave.

the show was amazing.

the dresden dolls were amazing...i had listened to the clips on their site, but live they were just awesome...brian is an insane drummer (i don't think his ride cymbal was mic'd, yet you could hear it clearly from what the other mics in his kit would pick up - that's how hard he played) and amanda was right-on: keys, voice, persona, etc...they made MANY new fans tonight (and i'm sure through the whole tour) and it was really cool to meet them and share a few words afterwards...very personable and friendly - highlights from the dolls' set were war pigs and half-jack (although their whole set was amazing for a 1st time listener).

nin was unreal. the new lineup was tight. aaron is a nut - i don't know how he hasn't broken his wrist yet when he flings his guitar about like that...while holding the chords! trent was more buff than i thought from pix - his arms are huge! the setlist was great. lighting was very good and effective for a small venue. sound was crystal clear in the first row of the lower balcony...i love the tabby! highlights from nin were: wish, piggy (with trent's tantrum - i liked how he kicked or threw the thumb piano into the pit where his mic techs were, but he had one to hold at the end of the song), burn!!!!, the big comedown, reptile, and suck. the new songs sound good...looking forward to hearing with teeth, ediets, right where it belongs, and only.

in the thtf video on PIGHUT, that is my girlfriend and i...she is the one adjusting her glasses and i am to her left (she was worried they would fall off and over the rail onto the floor)...i had no idea you guys were back there filming - cool! and the bitch with the pink hair (seen in the video for wish and thtf) should have been thrown over the railing - she and her friend had seats about 4-5 rows back and then rushed to the rail at the beginning of nin...all that would have maybe been ok, but instead she moved into the front row and stood/danced/flailed/head-banged/etc right in front of the guy with the front-row seat - and he let her! dumb brat. oh well.

it was a great show and well worth the $$ (damn ebay scalpers), drive down, and wait in line. looking forward to the arena tour with better lights/video and more songs from WT.

favorite nin quotes during the piggy tirade:
"turn the fucking microphone on you fucking cocksuckers!"
"anyone want to be in the crew? come around back after the show" (something to that effect)
both garnered good cheers/laughs from the crowd.

hope everyone made it home safely.

hey dickhead, that was my sister you were talking about and you have no idea what was said to the guys we were standing in front of. Maybe you were a little too worried about us and you should have been more concerned about the show. We were there to see NIN, so fuck off. Jealous?
Master Traveler
This entire day was the ultimate Nine Inch Nails experience for me and a few others. The friend I drove up with from Orlando went to the Tabernacle a little before 10:00am and got right in line. The person ahead of us was Greg (DownwardHope) and what a cool guy he is. We chatted it up about our NIN obsessions and threw on the Electric Six CD for all of the fans to enjoy. We got some stuff to eat from Ted’s and just waited in line for a few hours. We saw the Dolls walk by and we talked to them right after they got some photos taken against this white building behind the venue. Amanda and Brian are awesome people and just talking to them makes me jump from just liking the band to absolutely loving them.

Greg had some friends whom he met in line the day before come hang out with us. “The 4th grade teacher” (I think his name is Peters, I’m not sure though, sorry) went and got a drink from Ted’s. When he came back he asked if I could keep a secret. He told me a girl said that Trent was having lunch at the Hard Rock. I instantly told Greg and this one girl overheard us, and then I grabbed my friend and CD and we were off on a journey. Once we discovered where the Hard Rock was we noticed his tour bus was outside. Right when we approached the entrance we saw Jordie and Rob. Right behind them were two uniformed cops and Trent Reznor! I walked up to him and politely asked him to sign my CD. He said sure of course, and one of the guards peeped up and said they were in a rush. Trent shook my hand after he singed and I told him that I was the one that grabbed the microphone and gave it back. He jokingly replied with “Dude, you’re not supposed to give it back.” He then reached his hand out first to shake my hand. What an awesome guy is all I could think. I didn’t ask for a picture because I knew that would be over doing it, but I do have some photos of him walking away that I will post sometime.

We went back to the Tabernacle and showed off a little bit, sorry! As they did the bus pulled up and they all ran straight into the venue. Rob came back out and talked to me and Greg for probably 15 minutes. We discovered quite a few tidbits that you all might be interested in. Some are things that most of us already know but haven’t been confirmed.

-The With Teeth Deluxe Packing is a book where you put your CD in. Rob did all the artwork for it, and it is still under production. They are not including the CD with it because the whole idea of this Deluxe Package is to get around the record label, so they don’t have to worry about legal issues. He did make a comment that it is going to be a book, and quote “like you’ll be able to buy it in Barns & Nobles.”
-Rob is shocked at the prices the lithographs are catching on eBay. He has done everyone himself, and he is not even sure if he has a copy of every one of the dates.
-The original “access” updates were done with Trent emailing him the answers and Rob typing it on a old typewriter and hitting it whenever they wanted a skip. When they wanted to block things out he would just rip the word out before he scanned it. He said it took forever and it was such a headache. Now they have a font they are going to use.
-Rob is working on a whole new website, but he just doesn’t have much time to do it, but it should be done soon.
-They are filming every show and he hopes to do a DVD, but he has no real clue to where the footage will show up.

So anyway, after talking to Rob, a few more hours passed and we got in. We ran straight up to the right baloney and finally rested.

The Dolls were perfect tonight. The improvisation before Half-Jack, was some of the best drumming I’ve ever seen. Plus the addition of Karma Police was a stunning surprise since they didn’t do it the night before.

Nine Inch Nails hit the stage and went right into Wish. That was just the first sign that the show was going to be a lot harder than last nights. Personally, the highlight of the night for me was Love Is Not Enough. That song is just so amazing live. It was also great during Piggy where Trent’s microphone went out for the second night in a row. It turned into a big sing-a-long until it was fixed (about half way through). He did make the comment that it was going to be a whole new crew tomorrow, so if you wanted a job to come behind the venue after the show. Before Hurt he dedicated the song to Tiffany, and said that he wanted to do a positive song and that he didn’t have any. Then at the end of Head Like A Hole, a guy jumped from the balcony to the speakers as Aaron was climbing up them. Greg and I looked at each other, and it was the guy that was behind us in line the entire time! This guy must have been certifiably insane, because while we were waiting to get in he just talked about how he was going to get on stage, plus he was smoking a joint, out in the open as cops passed by. Weird.

I have some cruddy photos that I will try and post tomorrow morning. If anyone has a bootleg from tonight (I really need last nights though) please PM me. Also if you have any photos that clearly show the right balcony, I’d love to see them. Just want to say thanks to Greg for being an awesome person, you made the day very enjoyable.

dickhead here...

actually i'm not jealous...i was in the front row balcony and loved it.

your sister was a little hot topic brat who was a HUGE fucking distraction for the whole damn row...not to mention the two guys from 'fresh water collins' that she was thrashing about in front of - i'm sure you really got to know them, too. both were nice, mellow guys.

however, you both (as you said WE) were not in front of them - it was just her. and she was annoying as hell. i have no bones to gnaw with you, sissy.

what would i be jealous of? definitely not a little wannabe brat going crazy on the balcony when she should have spent her energy on the floor with the other thrashers - where she belonged! save your flailing about and desperate grabbing at trent for the pit...

concerned about the show? the one she put on or the one nin put on? i prefer nin's.

like i care about your potential response...save it.

I drove down from Charlotte for the Saturday show and it was fucking incredible. The mic incident was actually pretty cool as the crowd sang the first part of Closer for Trent until the music stopped. I have seen NIN several times in the past and this show was by far the best. I only wish I could have stayed for Sunday's show as well. Being an Old School fan, I like seeing Trent wig out. It reminds me of the old days!

I am just now getting around to posting something. There is not much that has not already been said. Anyway it was an incredible two nights. NIN rocked the absolute hell out of ATL. I mean I really thought the balcony was going to collapse. I could feel the whole balcony just swaying up and down with the crowd especially during THTF for some reason that song just made everyone in the place lose it. I somehow still managed to come home bruised and battered even though I was in the balcony. (Think I fell off my chair like three times during each song I was raising so much hell) What a great damn show… both nights totally ownd. This was my 4th and 5th time seeing NIN and it was a great venue to see them at. I just can’t believe that it went by so damn fast but nonetheless I was once again blown away by them.

I would also like to give a big fuck you to the ass-twat that stole my litho Saturday night. That was a rather cunty thing to do. (At least I got another on Sunday.) You rank right up there next to the douche bag security guard/ “row monitor” that was reserving the Budweiser seats which by the way no one was sitting in Saturday night. He even said after the 2nd song if no one had showed up we were more than welcome to sit there. Well so after the third song came I step over to take the front row balcony seats only for the douche to tell me that they were still reserved sixth song came and then like the ninth still no one ever sat there basically the general admission seating did not apply to this fuck stick. What a dick!!!

It was a great pleasure meeting all the ETS folks that I meet and those who where not. I meet a lot of cool people while in line, waiting for Trent, and in the show. On another note I have to say Rob Sheridan is a very nice guy. He stopped to chat and take some pics with me before the show and after the show. What a cool guy. However the most props go to Brett who was the one that helped hook me up with getting my With_Teeth case signed. He is a very cool guy as well. I mean damn my shit got signed I was pumped about that and still am. See you guys at the fall tour…

Oh yeah if anyone has some good pics I would like to see them. I took a bunch of photos but for some fucking reason they look like total ass.

Here is a scanned image of my cd case.

Oh, that fucking sucks. I bought tix from ebay too and it was my first time using ebay so I was afraid that would happen. I ended up buying them from show me tickets which is a ticket broker instead of buying them from an individual. Thank god they ended up being real but if it's any consolation to you I waited outside to see Trent after the saturday show and when he came out, I didn't even notice him. He came walking out with the rest of the band and they all look the same from the back so then I thought that surely I wouldv'e noticed Trent....then the bus started to pull away and I realized that I missed it....oh well, atleast I will get to go to another show in the fall.

the show was fucking awesome. best nin show i have been to yet. the d. dolls weren't as bad as everybody was making out. i will not buy their cd or anything but i was far from booing them off the the stage. the black sabbath cover was great. all in all i had a fantastic time everything was great except for the fact that my ticket stub and litho got jacked from my hotel room, even though i told the house cleaning crew not to clean the room monday day. and of course their was no manager on duty to talk to about it. i am still really bummed out on that shit. i really wanted wanted the litho, i had a frame and everything. guess i buy mine back on ebay for 200 bucks. i even prided myself for only buying one because i knew there would be a high demand and i didn't want to fuck somebody over.

it was my girls first nin show and she was blown away. the set list was fuckgin awesome, i mean burn and reptile and tdtwwa and the big comedown. reptile was awesome live. and the only time interchange in closer was fucking awesome. i am so glad we went to the sunday show. from the people i talked to it kicked the saturday shows ass.

overall i give it a 9/10. only lossed a point for the sticky handed hotel house cleaning

So, this is like a week late but I wanted to add my comments about the show. After reading all the reviews I'm glad I went Sunday night (I did want to hear Starfucker though, you Saturday people are lucky). Anyhow, I went with a friend of mine who likes NIN, but not like me so we sat in the lower balcony on the right side of the stage. I lament not sneaking my camera in, security was so ridiculous it would have been so easy to get it in, but the signs they had up all over the venue scared me out of it (really expensive digital camera with really expensive batteries).

This was my first time seeing the band, hopefully not my last, I thought it was a fantastic show. Of course, I've nothing to compare it against, but I believe you guys when you say it's one of the best you've seen. I don't imagine it could get much better. They just hit song after song that I'd been dying to hear so I couldn't be much happier with the setlist, although I was hoping for "The Fragile," have they been playing that anywhere else?

As far as the now infamous dude on the speaker goes, he was right next to me for about half the show. I talked to the security guard who was stationed at that particular spot all night (he did absolutely nothing, spent half the show watching the show rather than the crowd) and he did not even consider trying to go after Tarzan. I wasn't all too surprised that he mooned the crowd, again, we're in the south.

I also have to comment on that girl's post about her encounter with Trent at the airport. (1) Holy shit, (2) yes Hartsfield is ENORMOUS and (3) The Tabernacle is the best venue on the planet, no question.

I had no idea that many people from Orlando went to the show.

undivinity a UCF student? Thats like the 6th ETS member I know that goes to UCF too. Next time we have to drive that far for a show we should arrange some sort of caravan or something.

don't get me wrong, i love the tabernacle!!! it has been very good to me! but i must reserve judgement for "best on the planet" until i go see tool or nin at red rocks in denver. i walked through there one time and i can't imagine how cool it would be to see one of my favorite bands play there. i hear that's also an "out of body" experience. and believe me, i have had them at the tabernacle too (and i live 12 mins. from the tabernacle, so home field advantage is there) but i bet the aliens line up to see tool play redrocks!!!

Yes, we were crushed about it.

We are taking the necessary action against the individual that sold us the tickets. Thank you for your advice and concern.

You should be proud, that is an amazing feat you've performed. Hell, I'd probably carry the thing around with me for at least a month after the show.

I have an extra litho from the two shows in Pheonix. If anyone has any extra Atlanta litho and wants to trade contact me.
Arrived in Atlanta very early to enjoy downtown . Went to the Hard Rock Cafe to see all the memorobilia . We went into this private section with no one in it that had a sign that said "This is not here" on it . Saw some framed pictures of Trent on the cover of spin magazine and stuff . Walked back out to head out and I look to my left and Mr. Reznor is eating dinner with a group of people (probably the band) . I had to look twice to make sure I was not hallucinating (even though I was sober) . I wanted to meet Trent but did not want to be one of those assholes who interupt an idol's dinner time . We then continued walking and I told my friend Trent Reznor is sitting right over there and not to glare too long . Hung around Atlanta for awhile before the show started soon after . The Dresden Dolls where a good opening band . As soon as 'Wish' was the opening song for NIN I knew everyone was in for a treat . An awesome setlist . My favorite concert ever . Can't wait until fall and hopefully I can be lucky enough to see Nine Inch Nails and Mr. Reznor again .
These pictures are a little late but im sure they will be appreciated and if you click on the view all albums from user button you will find the atlanta mars volta pics and some pics from some shows in Tampa,fl. Let me know what you thanks
For a free cassette mixtape of all the songs in order played at this show leave your mailing address at utopianchaos@hotmail.com and I will send it as soon as possible with the postage paid .

Let see, I fell over in the Mosh... hmm that sucked some ass... We actually fell over to "Piggy" of all songs. My friend got hit in the face by a Trent bottle, which is now chilling over ni the corner with my ticket and signed dresden doll cd. And I met this really cool chic named Lindsey that I still talk to...

Oh, and Trent tripped over a box after the show...

If anyone has photos, audio, or video of Trent durning the stage dive he did durning Closer, please PM me!

i know that this is a little late but if any one has decent video of this email me at micheldenostra2001@yahoo.com willing to pay or trade

ps: got in the first night halfway through the concert for free, wanted to go to hardrock before the show but my friend geff sucks dick and didn't want to (no he's alright, really). met up with a rapper/vocalist, but a sweet demo cd off of him, very poetic. met up with him again the second night and hung out some more - shoutout to Ozias.
when me and my friend got in the first night they were playing Home, we decided this because we were not fimiliar with this nin song at the time.
second night, two of my fav songs: The Day The World Went Away + Reptile were amazing.
ps2: to the guy who said this was the best album since Pretty Hate Machine: buy halos 5-18, if you're are intellignt and open minded, you'll change your opinion.
