Yea its soo fucked they don't give out water...did you guys get "some" water? At the melbourne concert they refused which resulted in about two people getting pulled out of the mosh every song. woulda stayed there, but was running out of oxygen and woulda passed out and got trampled to death most likely, and common sense/survival kicked in and i got out of it eventually. thanks to the guy who helped me try and get out! and it was just really emotional and awesome with everyone singing along. (oh and did anyone see the guy with the super bright white light from his fone? lol) as well as Suck and Sin.. which are 2 of my favourite NIN songs. wasn't expecting to hear a couple of songs, like dead souls and starfuckers. 
oh well... i was expecting to be in physical agony today, and my feet managed to recover, but the rest of me is ok except for the sniffles lolWhat do you mean? I thought the show was average to be honest. Maybe I was just tired and sick (Got a nice sore throat at the moment) but I thought the band were a bit flat. I was also pretty disappointed not to hear anything 'new' played. And the venue was just crappy.

Yeah i noticed that at the Sydney shows, the last three songs before Pinion (or Beside You In Time for Saturdays show) got steadily louder in volume- and the lights were verrrry slowly cranking up from way before that even. They did it the same both nights in Sydney with (from the left) the 2nd and 4th of the intelligent lights across the top coming up in brightness, followed by the 1st and finally the 3rd and 5th started to come up right before the Nails came on. Edit: Just read you were talking about "cute electronic noises'. This was not Swans. The Swans song was the very last song. Pinion was literally mixed into the Swans song.

Have to admit I didn't see many others around me singing along. Some of them gave me strange looks when I was singing Dead Souls and Burn, like they had no idea what the songs were.

But acoustically I thought the venue was pretty good, I've seen a few bands here and the sound quality has always impressed, it's much better than at Festival Hall (RIP). The BEC's high ceilings often attract a decent sound from a skilled engineer.
And as for the lifeless crowd, indeed it wasn't full of diehard Ninnies who know the words to every song but for the most part I thoroughly enjoyed the performance and felt the crowd participated well to the songs, the first two (Wish and Sin) were particulary well received with lots of moshing going on. Indeed there was a flat spot throughout the mid section but that could be attributed to band selection of slower songs and the lesser known soundtrack options (Burn, Dead Souls). Also don't forget it was a Monday night, with a lot of the crowd having to work/study the next day therefore a lack of 'stimulants' may have been employed

Ticketek have a lot of bloody explaining to do. They majorly stuffed up when the Brisbane tickets went on sale, telling a lot of people (myself included) that all the seats were sold out. This was not the case at all. But if you didn't know better you wouldn't think to try again would you? and then seeing all those empty stands on the night... grrrr.

I found them all to be really exhausted and I felt guilty for making them hang around.
Aaron was cool. He, the manager (?) and I chatted a bit about what I do and stuff and how the tour was going, and they seemed cool about me writing an article about them for uni. (still writing it)
Jerome to be honest was a little scary with the eyeliner and 6ft+ frame...so naturally I was a complete wank infront of him. (i.e. I forgot all the song names etc...*shaking head in remorse*)
Alessandro kept disappearing so I never spoke to him. But he seemed quite chipper and was bopping around chatting to people.
We scored the passes by absolute fluke. If my sister and I were a min early or late to go in to the theatre the guy who gave us the tickets would never have happened.
Why? Is there a special way to get these tickets?
BTW this was my first ever rock concert so it's started out quite well I think. I'm still about 10 feet off the ground from the backstage experience.[/url]

So when I grudgingly went down to ticketek to pick up the tix, I said is there any way to get seats. She called up the head office (after much convincing) and found out none of the seating had been sold. (what a fcuking liar!!!) So my sis and I ended up at the end left corner...kinda shitty seats for two girls who are blind (lol) What annoyed me most was seeing about 8 seats on the right hand side, right near the show...(if you see the pics on the link above..the pic of the show, you can see them on the right of the pic...grrrr!!!)
This whole show was fucked over by so many people don't you think??? I really hope NIN don't skip Aus all together b/c of some a--holes that screwed everything up...please come back Trent!!!

I'm not calling the show shit at all - I just didn't enjoy it as much because of those lights. I spent half the time closing my eyes in pain b/c they were so bright. I've worked on stage heaps before and those lights were tooooo intense. I went to all four and I can't help but compare them to each other! Unfortunately I let the crowd get on my nerves for this show and the venue wasn't very accessible. That track was cool- I remember listening to that at the seccond sydney show and really concentrating on what they were saying- that old sounding doctor dude. I should say, however, that I am *very* happy with my TDS shirt purchase. Wore it for the first time Friday night and it's great quality, very comfortable, good fit and I'm sure it will become a fav. I even had someone notice the shirt and say they saw me at the gig.
I just want to say that I don't understand why everyone keeps bringing up what songs the crowd supposedly did/didn't know.
I knew all the songs played but don't know all the lyrics, and sometimes find it annoying when the person next to me is singing along.
Whenever I go to a gig, I'm there to see a band and hear their music - not to analyse the crowd.
