Amazing. Absolutely AMAZING.

I don't think it was as good as last night, but that's because it was a smaller venue and they couldn't get the whole light show and curtain going. Eraser without the curtain was awesome and I definitely prefer it that way.

The setlist was vastly different. We got the heaviest Reptile I've ever heard and STARFUCKERS!

I FINALLY GOT TO SEE STARFUCKERS!

It was so worth the wait, too.

Trent talked twice. First time about not being able to remember the last time he was here and he said, "becuase I was probably drunk, but it's good to be back."

And then, right before the final chorus of Starfuckers, he talked about Katrina and about how one of the senators here in WI was one of the 11 who voted against the aid for the victims and he told us to vote Senator Fuckhead out of office.

There was almost no WITH_TEETH until the second half of the show. We got the Collector, too.

Oh man...it was awesome.

It was a good show, but the setlist wasn't different enough to make me happy. I don't need to hear Wish, Gave Up, Closer, Hurt, or Head like a Hole ever again. Give us Sunspots or Ruiner! Or SOMETHING you haven't done.

Mr. Self Destruct was a good surprise, but that song doesn't translate live as well as some songs.

i thought the show was amazing there was one fuckhead who talked shit to the opening band and the guy jsut said (i know we suck..._) that was bullshit

anyways set list was shorter then last night i think idk i wasnt at both but from the readings and such

starfuckers was amazing as well as Everyday was exactly the same

i also got a drum stick from the opening act and sprayed with my fiar share of water

I left at the very beginning of Starfuckers because I have mono, a 103 degree fever, and was about to pass out, and this probably swayed my opinion, but here it is:

I took my camera to film stuff worth filming. There were two opportunities and I got one of them. Only two. The concert wasn't that great. Everything until SICNH was PHENOMENAL, but that just KILLED the mood. I like the song, but it was downhill from there.

Please was cool. I will upload a video tomorrow if I have the time. I feel like I am dying. But it was my birthday, so I had to go. Happy birthday! Mono, a decent NIN concert, and some more bad shit not worth getting into.

Josh Freese > any other NIN drummer.

So, eh. Rip on me all you want, but of the 4 times I've seen them this tour, it was 4th tonight. Though Josh was perfect and amazing.

I'm interested to hear other opinions.

I agree about SICNH being at the wrong place in set. Up until that song, the place was going nuts. After that song, aside from a few times here and ther, it was rather mellow. This was my first time seeing NIN and it was certainly all I could have hoped for. I was a bit disappointed to not get to here "Beside You In Time" but I'll get over it. Mr. Self Destruct and Burn more than made up for it.

Does anyone know what the one song played on the PA AFTER the show was??

Nine Inch Nails...I personally thought the show kicked ass. I was pretty much in front the whole time and took a resonable beating. There were no fuck-ups as far as I was concerned (the drumming for instance was stellar). Trent talked to the audience 3 times. The first time was the "Milwaukee, you're a great audience," then we got the question whether or not Trent ever came to Milwaukee (he did in 2000...but apparently "I was probably drunk") and then came the whole Katrina deal which got a nice appaluse from the audience.

Moving Units...they were not that bad. The sound quality for them sucked though (it was greatly improved for Nine Inch Nails). I must say that the coat think was awesome and funny as hell though (the lead singer wore a coat and put up the hood for the last song).

Merchandise...I bought the tour book. Nice photos, but at $25...that's your call. Otherwise, most of the shirts seemed standard, although there was this predominantly red one (not a Sin shirt either, it reminded me of the cover of the Only promo) for $40 dollars that I never saw before (although, you should note that I'm not the pro when it comes to telling you how many different Nine Inch Nails shirts there are).

Overall...the concert was great. People might complain because of the lack of Beside You in Time and the whole screen thing, but remember the size of the venue. Only 5,000 people fit in the Rave and most of those are general admission. You lose the screen, but you definitely have a greater opportunity to get closer and wilder that other concerts. Five stars in my opinion.

Anyone else notice that the temp, especially in Only, seemed to be really slowed down?

And was it just me, or did Aaron seem sick or something? He wasn't his usual crazy self...he looked, kinda, bored up there. :-\

And I saw him sitting on the side drinking water a bunch of times when he wasn't playing. He just seemed so out of character.

I hope he's okay...

holy. shit. that was the best nin show i've seen. trent was in a great mood, the crowd was fun, and the music fucking kicked ass. heres my attempt at a setlist, although i can promise that its not in correct order and is most likely missing some songs:

oh, also, the new drummer sucks. but that's just nitpicking. the rest of the band was fantastic, interacted very well... trent was talkative, as stated earlier. and he was really making a lot of eye contact with the crowd, which i never noticed him do too much before... the light setup was as large as ever, but they couldn't do the cover over the stage during the intro, so that was weird. but this show was better than the one other nin show i saw (chicago fragility tour, 2nd time around). fantastic show... i don't know how else to say it

I disagree about Josh, but whatever. I don't think he's as good as Jerome, but he's still amazing.

And i thought it was awesome that Alessandro was up at the front of the stage with a mic and guitar during Mr. Self-Destruct.

That was an amazing show. I would say that beat the hell out of the Chicago show in October. Josh Freese is an excellent drummer, and has really taken ownership of the songs along with adding his own little touches. Mr. Self Destruct seemed to blast out of nowhere and overwhelm the crowd with a wall of sound. While they did play Pilgrimage through the speakers before the show started, it still was quite a hard hit when MSF began. They even had Alessandro playing guitar up front in between Jeordie and Trent!!!! Most excellent. EDIETS sounds great live, and it's pretty amusing to see Trent with a tambourine. Please was a great addition, and the Collector is great as well but I was disappointed to miss out on The Big Comedown tonight. Overall, a show that was well worth going to. Don't be too disappointed if you miss the Moving Units, though.

This was my first NIN concert, but iv seen concert vids, this was comperable, and in my opinion, much better than the those. I read last nights setlist, i was kinda hopin for beside you in time and right where it belongs, but i got to hear starfuckers, which wasnt in the posted setlist from last night which origionally disapointed me. infact my friend was shouting it almost the entire concert (even durring hurt) and finnaly got it to my enjoyment. The whole deal about the katrina vote was sweet, its nice to see support like that). i personally like the venu, durring the corse of the concert we started maybe 30 feet from the stage, and slowly moved up, and werent pushed shoved or mortally wounded in anyway, even in such close vacinity

That was a good show. Trent didn't have as much intensity as the first show back at the Congress but it was definitely better than the Allstate show. BTW the reason i'm posting is did anyone see the guy that looked dead being carried out on a strecher. He was strapped down and his head was tilted back with his eyes closed and his mouth open. He wasn't moving at all and someone made some sort of comment about a dead guy coming through. Did anyone else catch this.

The new drummer sux? He's the most in demand session player in LA for modern rock music. He has a massive list of artists on his resume, he is probably the best drummer you have ever seen..you just don't even know it.

To quell the tide of misinformation, it was a WI Representative that was one of the 11 --- US Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner, a Republican, to be exact. WI Senators are awesome. Sen. Feingold was the only one to vote against the Patriot Act and Sen. Kohl is for renewable energy. Don't vote them out!

Too much goddamned SMOKE, ugh! I have a HEADACHE!! Some guy behind us dumped a half glass of beer all over my friend Dan's head and it also went down the back wasteband of my jeans. I hate beer, yuck. Too much goddamned flying beer! Can't you cheeseheads DRINK the beer instead of THROWING the beer??

I noticed the appearance of binary code in the lighting, which I'd never noticed before.

Jeez, guys -- that's Josh Fucking Freese, not some hack they picked up off the street.

And I don't know what to tell you about the flying beer. It was really annoying and there were a LOT of dicks in the crowd. Luckily, after the first push for the front, the crowd got pretty tame, so it was enjoyable except for my headache, whiplash and nearly-broken ankle, heh.

Yes, thanks for clearing that up. I was surprised when I thought he was talking about either Feingold or Kohl because both are pretty liberal and I couldn't imagine them NOT voting for the Katrina relief.

Did anyone go to the after party? I was talking to some girl (I forgot her name) and she said that extra security was being hired because the band was going to be there or something.

Yea, their sound wasn't too bad, but the sound for Moving Units was *terrible* - bouncing all over the damned place, yikes!! But, it seemed better for NIN's set.

It was, truly, a treat to see NIN at this venue and environment and atmosphere. It was the closest to a real "club show" that I've ever seen them in, even better than the Congress shows. I was really glad to have been there.

Amazing show last night!!!

Couple points- A lot of people have been critical of Josh Freese. Prior to last nights show I thought he was just another drummer. Now after last night he is by far the best NIN drummer. And that's saying a lot because I have a great respect for Chris Vrenna.

And I also agree Something I Can Never Have was in the wrong place. Prior to that the show was up tempo and everyone was going completely nuts, and that song kind of killed the mood a little bit. They should have played it right before Hurt or something.

I was super happy they played Burn live. It's one of my favorites. I was a little surprised they didn't play more from With Teeth, I would have loved to hear You Know What You Are? live.

But, overall an amazing show, one of the best shows I've ever been too. The only real complaint I have was paying $25 for parking, but NIN made it worth the money.

Moving Units-I loved they're drummer and bassist for some reason. But, could have done without the rest of the group. Just not my type of music, I'm more into electro/industrial stuff.

I swore he said "Senator Fuckhead" which surprised me too, since both WI senators are Dems. Anyway, I thought they played a tight set, loud as usual, the lighting was great, and Josh was on top of things. The downsides were the venue sucked for sound (which I had heard about beforehand), and the setlist was too short, with no TLBTB, RWIB, BYIT, or Witha Teetha. Also, no movie screen, which I guess I should have realized because of the smaller venue. All in all, I guess it was the least favorite of the three shows I went to, I thought the Congress was a better club show, and St. Paul had the full visuals. I would stress that the band's performance was NOT the cause however, as they played very well. Just needed a bit longer setlist to make up for the 9 hour round trip. I may post some photos later today.

It also clears up the whole political issue which means that it must of come out right to some people (journalists got it right).

I hate the Congress, one of the country's absolute worst venues. So maybe that's why I thought this club show was better (plus, no filled-up balcony and it wasn't overfilled with people who got in through the back alley and the basement).

I had damn-near perfect seats (like the 5th row of chairs, dead center) and the sound was awesome, plus the venue looked sweet and they played a few more songs that I really wanted to hear last night (The Big Comedown for one). Plus, Congress was the first and only time I got to see Jermoe.

But last night was equally awesome with a setlist that was definitely better and a tighter band

I was QUITE drunk at the Champaign show (which I think made it a lot better, too, actually...heh) and was going a little nuts. I rolled my ankle really bad during MotP (the first song I was there for) and was just whipping my head/body. I've got a stiff neck and back and that, combined with the atmosphere of 98% cigarette smoke last night, yeah...my head was killing me. But it was worth it.

Tonight ought to be interesting...

This show was pretty fricken sweet. Not as good as the one in madison, but it had Mr Self Destruct, Burn, SICNH, Reptile, Please... Liek others said i Missed RWIB, TLBTB, and BYIT...hopefully i'll see those tonight. I did miss the curtain for eraser...i thought maybe the didnt play RWIB and BYIT because they didnt have the curtain.

I was right up front and center about 3 rows back, i was right next to where trent threw the mic. the security guys had a hard time getting it back. also i think Rob had fun talking to the girls up front, he was there for quite some time between sets.

The lead singer of the Moving Units looked like he was going to cry when someone said they sucked.

I just hate the sound at the Congress, and that place should be condemned. But, yea, if it has sentimental meaning to you, I can see what you mean and I still had a great time being there, too ... I was down on the floor for both shows at the Congress dancing and jumping around.

First of all, this was my frist NIN concert ever! And u know what? It was the fucking shit!

I know u cant please everybody but hey, they played every single song I was hoping for them to play. I got to rock the-living-hell-out-of-me with Sin, Terrible Lie, Wish, Head Like A Hole, Reptile, Closer and of course... Starfuckers Inc.
The rest of the set list was awesome too. Man i tell ya, i am for sure going to the Gren Bay gig next tuesday, but for now, i have to save up some energy, i got a date with Sevendust and Nonpoint tonight...

I think Moving Units sucked ass, but hey, its not that they were bad, is just not my type of music, and besides, even if i didn't liked them, i would not well "you suck" out of the top of my lungs, unlike some fucking dickheads in the crowd, that just brings the band selfsteem down to the sewers and is just plain uncool, it just wasnt the right band to open.

The whole political shit was great too. Like most rockers and artists in today's commercial sorry-ass music industry, Reznor made it clear that all of those conservative pricks in office are not good for anybody and only looking to roll the pork-barrel towards their own benefits. I love it everytime i go to a concert and the bands just hammers the president, so far nobody has done it better than Dope's frontman, Edsel Dope. but hey, we all share the same thoughts...and if i am not mistaken, Reznor said: "Sensenbrenner Fuckhead", but that is just me.

Anyways...NIN is without a doubt one the best fucking Rock bands in the fucking world! and Trent Reznor...well, simply a genius.

2nd time I've seen them (last in 2001?) fucking amazing show, sound quality was the best I've ever heard in nearly 20yrs of concerts.

Amazing show, Mr. Self Destruct seems like it was made to be played live, it was awesome. Starfuckers and EDIETS were nice treats. I'm real happy that they gave us a bunch of tunes that they didn't play in Madison. My only complaint was that there was no Right Where It Belongs or Beside You In Time.

Anyone get any pictures or something of that nature?

It was a great show, but I couldn't see all too well. Wasn't feeling 100% and stayed toward the back. I had earplugs so the sound was good - I can't imagine last night without earplugs. That place was loud.

I was *hoping* for Sunspots because they couldn't do the screen - so maybe a special song. I'm not really complaning - I just want to hear that song live because it's my favorite off the new album.

Went with LeMonkey and Artgirl9 & met up with Wigglebutt and Beavette - very fun!! And sorry to hear about the beer, Beavette. Yuck! It was very smokey (had such a headache) and hot and so many sweaty, sticky people kept pushing past me to get out of the pit. :/

I met Alessandro and Aaron after the show - very nice guys, so that rocked. Made up for not being able to see squat *during* the show.

Good times! Now I have to wait til Vegas for more.

I got to Milwaukee around 3 O'clock thinking I would have to wait like in the Madison show, nope. Instead we just drove around and got lost, than came back at around 4. Paid $25 fucking dollars for parking, I felt like a moron for doing it. Before that though I had to go to the bathroom, so I went to a gas station, and people kept asking me for change. Some kid does it, and he was all alone so I do it, than a bunch of other kids swarmed me and asked for money. It made me really nervous, but I just walked faster and they left me alone.

We found out we could wait inside (the basement) so we did that, and it was pretty fucking cold. The basement sucked, it felt liked 3rd class on the titanic. What made it worse was I could here the sound check upstairs and the spiral members dancing around having a blast upstairs.

6:30 came and the security guard yelled on the top of his lungs, that we couldn't run up the stairs. We got up to the ball room and had to wait 2 and a half hours for the moving units, that was really painful, tall people, people making out in front of you.

The moving units finally came on and they were pretty good. The sound quality was abysmal, and they needed to turn the base down or something. That ass hole who said they sucked got the lead singer to tell the crowd that nin would be coming on after 2 songs (as well as blurting out some other profanity). During their set I noticed these two girls rubbing close together, and dancing. I was almost positive they were on ecstasy, and this guy in front of me (who I think was married) kept looking over at them.

A Few minutes before NIN came on the crowd packed even tighter and tighter. It was 6 times as tight as the Madison show, and I was about 3 rows from the fence. I new before NIN came out that this was going to be hell, and when the smoke shot out, and Mr. Self Destruct was played I new I had to get out of there. I lasted until something I can never have. The worst part was trying to get out, than getting pushed back. I couldn't tell people to move because they couldn't hear me.

I went to the back, and got something to drink (water for $3 fucking dollars) and watched most of the set from the back. When Star Fuckers came on I noticed a huge opening in the front so I ran into it, and got right back to where I was before. I felt kind of cool because I did the something for the Madison show, only for Gave Up. After the show my friend told me that the two girls who were dancing around, and looked like they were on ecstacy, came out of the front right after I did. He said that they looked like they were about to collapse and were being escorted out by some guy.

All and all the Show was great, Trent was more talkative and the lighting was amazing. I liked how they hid behind the smoke and Trent’s head just poked out for Mr. Self Destruct. Josh Freese was incredible, but Aaron north didn't do jump kicks, and throw his guitar around. I was really disappointed that they didn't play Suck, because I love the guitar solo Aaron does when he swings his guitar and spins around. I was hoping that they would change the Synth line for gave up, but they didn't. I think Gave Up sounded best during the Fragility tour.

I found out from my grandma that the rave is in one of the worst neighborhoods in Milwaukee, which was kind of a shock after the show. I also got accepted to the University of Milwaukee the day before.

I live in Milw. Saw NIN back when on tour for the fragile (that was an awesome show). The Eagles Ballroom is a shitty place to play in my opinion. Yeah its nice that it holds 5,000, makes it a little more intimate then an arena show but overall the acoustics are bad and even me being pretty tall, I still found it very difficult to find a good spot where I could see the stage. I took a friend and was disappointed there was no screen, I was hoping there would be, it brings a certain feel to the show itself and I like the fact that its there for only a select amount of songs. I was surprised to hear Something I can never have. I could be wrong but I dont think that song is played live very often, so for me it was a nice treat. Im so sick of hearing Closer. I know, I think for a lot of people Closer was their first taste of NIN, but its not necessary to be played at every single show, you think Trent would be sick of it by now. I also missed Pinion starting the show off. Pilgramge wasnt bad but it just didnt pump me up enough as Pinion has in the past. The feeling in your chest the lounder it gets.

The people got annoying after a while. It seemed like everywhere I turned there was someone playing around on their cell phone or secruity telling me I couldnt stand there.

Im going to the Green Bay. Hoping since its a larger venue that the screen will be there. Its also nice to be able to sit down and enjoy the show and stand if you want to get down.

I know Trent on nin.com said who they played during The Fragility tour, but I haven't read anything about the With Teeth tour yet. But, anyway there were a few songs I really liked so any help with who they were would be really cool. Thanks.

this was my 15th nin concert, and i personally thought it was one of the absolute best. the venue was excellent, one of the best i have been to. very easy to get around from back to front and vice versa. lots of room on the floor.

i thuoght acoustics were very good too. trent was in top form, and other than wanting a slightly diff set list like many people here, and feeling that Something i Can never Have was really out of place, i thought the show rocked ass....

and ONLY... oh man that song jsut brought the fucking house down..... i mean i love that song and its one of my faves but the live performance last night was just freakin nuts...... i thuoght my limbs were going to jsut fall off after all the work in the pit durign that song.

I live in Milwaukee and the area The Rave is in isn't that bad, if you drive several blocks north then you're in the bad areas.

And $25 for parking is crazy, but the last time I saw KMFDM at The Rave they charged me $17 for parking. I guess I don't mind paying that considering how good NIN and KMFDM are live.

No, I'm mostly referring to country roads with the same names and those kinds of areas. although, before the show, while we were driving around, cops rushed into a little store with their guns out.. It was kind of wierd.

And yeah, $25 for parking was more than I had expected, since I only paid $5 in October at Allstate Arena.

Well, it's NOT that great of a neighborhood, but compared to, say, certain areas of Chicago, it's probably a walk in the park.

But for us Milwakeeans, that's pretty rough, and going northwest only gets worse and worse.

Jeffery Dahmer actually lived a few blocks west of The Rave in a building that no long exists (thankfully), so take that for what it's worth.

And I go to school at Marquette, about 10 blocks east down Wisconsin Avenue (the main street that The Rave is on), and it's pretty ghetto even down around there. Campus just kinda ends and the outskirts of the ghetto start.

Oh, before I forget... Security at this venue were TOTAL DICKHEADS.

Yes, they fucking were. I had a poster tube for the lithographs and at both arena shows last fall, there was NO problem bringing it in. At the Rave? It was like I was a fucking terrorist of something. Man, I was pissed. I still am.

Ditto here. Am glad I had earplugs. I couldn't breathe in the crappy smoke air. I couldn't see shit either. Wish I had gone into the balcony! Oh well, I do not regret going at all, though. I always have a great time regardless of the crap that occurs around us. At the very least was happy to reunite with Wigglebutt for a night!

Some things I noticed - a dude next to me towards the end of the show who at first I thought was smoking a cigar... then I realized that it wasn't a cigar, but a microphone! He was taping! The amazing thing was how in the hell did he get that past security!

Another thing was way too many wannabe britney-spears-goes-goth ladies here. There's always a few at each show, but the place was overrun here! Made for fun people watching.

...And if I ever need a getaway driver, LeMonkey's brother is the guy I'm calling.

You might not want to know where microphone-guy was hiding everything. It's better not to ask, usually.

And I forgot about the Britney-goes-Goth girls - that was, bizarre. There were many of them. And I still am not sure what Ballot-Girl was having people drop in suggestions about - maybe I should've filled out a card.

yeah - in response to the post a page or two back....I totally saw the "dead guy" being wheeled out at the end.

we were all crammed like sardines trying to get out into the stairwell and they push this guy through.

PS - thank you to all of you who showed up to the afterparty we had. Hope you had a good time!

Also - we mentioned that parking wasn't cheap down there and that you could park for MUCH less near the hotel and use the spiral bus even if you weren't doing the afterparty with us....sorry you payed them so much cash.
They like to rip people off!

anyhow - it was a fantastic show......except for some fangirl who thought we were stupid enough to let her up front. She tried every excuse in the book. The she begged "pleeaaaaasse.....just for reptile!" WTF!! I thought your problem two minutes ago was that you couldn't breathe....

When we didn't let her she literally tried to crawl over our friend's head.
She didn't get too far. There's only so much shit I'll tolerate down in the pit.

I don't know what security did to anyone else but they were pretty cool with us. But maybe we lucked out with the ones we were by.

I am from Chicago and I was at the Milwaukee show too. Seems to be quite a few different opinions on the show here, that's cool, the show experience is all your own. I loved it and had the best time. I seen the band 4 times last year and they never disappoint live. The venue was cool (similiar to the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago) and small, love seeing bands in places like that. The sound was adequate, the band was in top form. Loved Josh Freese, Trent looked and sounded great, excellent set list. No complaints at all.

I was plastered up front for about 5 songs before I had to get pulled out. I had too many elbows in my shoulder blade and it was killing me. When I got pulled out, I had to run across the front of the stage to get out and I kept tripping over the barrier extensions, security and other bodies being pulled out, that I actually fell on Trent's mics. They were placed right down in front of him on the floor and I couldn't avoid them, so I grabbed one so I wouldn't fall. I looked over for a second and there's Trent singing I want to fuck you like an animal and I pointed at him and ran!!

I heard a soundcheck was planned for spiral members but that was cancelled (no reason given as to why). I left the venue soaking wet, exhilarated, exhausted, and in a bit of a daze.

As for the music before hand, yes, you can go to the access section of nin.com for the list (Trent selects all the music). I know I heard LCD Soundsystem and an old Shreikback song, that was very cool. Off to KC Saturday for the Kemper Arena show.

Yea, I'd rethink going to see another concert at the Rave again. It's been several years since I'd seen anyone play there (Garbage, I think). The crowd by us was alright, but someone lit-up a big fat dubbie just as the concert started. Fab right? Hot, high and straining to see. Looking forward to GB!

we parked for free by the quickie mart

and my wife plans to report the club to the health authorities for not making free drinking water available. we almost never bring money into the show so she got really dehydrated sometime in the middleof the set and went to get water and the guy asked for $3 (before show started my friends were payign $2 for water) so she having her health and sanitation licensure told the bartender that it is illegal to charge for drinking water if there is no free source of drinkable water available in the venue (which there wasn't), so the guy told her to go drink in the bathroom...... heh i like it when my wife gets pissed and it is not at me.... this should get interesting.

We payed the guy at the Mcdonalds right next to the rave $10 to park there...which is better than the $25 i heard others complaining about....anyway, this show was fucking awesome!!! Mr.Self destruct!! I couldn't believe it...The only regret was that i bought my merch before rhe show becuase i knew there was no fucking way i would be able to get a litho if i waited until the show was over...so i stayed back and watched from a safe distance which probably worked out better for me..I dont remember the exact set but i knew i had to sit down at some point so i chose to do so during hurt...which i am very tired of hearing live.....

9/10 not as good as the Madison show but better than anything else i could have done that night...or month...

Awesome awesome show. I was glad there was only one opener, and I was kinda diggin' MU.

Oh and the Milwaukee crowd was 350 times better than the asshats at the show in Madison -- tools moshing when there was no music, some drunk whore bumping into everyone near the front of the stage (she almost got her ass kicked), and the two douchbags at the back who kept bumping into one another and pushing each other into other people. Take that shit to the pit. The people in back don't want to have to deal with pricks like you. They also thought it'd be pretty cool to ash in some guy's hair. Real winners those two fucks were.

And Wisconsin Ave might not be the suburbs, but it's definitely not what I'd consider one of the worst neighborhoods in Milwaukee, and I live in Milwaukee.

I was way in the back (with Wigglebutt and Sugarplum and Artgirl9 and LeMonkey) but I couldn't see shit so I squished toward the front and ended up being able to see the vast majority of the stage for the last 3/4 of the show, with only the one "beer incident" which wasn't really bad for me and was actually rather refreshing for my friend who got the beer on his head, heh. There was a total crack head spazzing out next to us, but a guy next to me got into it with him and they somehow got the guy to move.

The $25 parking was was worth it considering how close it was and how fast we got out.

We pay $20 for parking near venues in Chicago all the time, so...

House of Blues, the Vic, the Riv, the Metro, the Aragon = I always pay for parking. Unless you have a Lakeview Permit (or you want to have your windows bashed in at the Aragon or the Riv), you're an idiot trying to park around there. I have occasionally scored free parking on Southport or on Irving Park and walked while at the Metro, but otherwise... We were in a hurry in Milwaukee and it was late and we were freezing, so we said fuck it.

Anyway, WHY THE FUCK DO YOU CARE??? This thread isn't about parking, it's about the Milwaukee show.

And ok computer, I LIVE in Milwaukee. Most of the free parking around the Rave was gone by 5pm and the stuff was still available was off the main streets in a neighborhood that isn't known for being friendly. That's it. It has no impact on you or anything you do, so shut up.

Yea, paying that much for parking anywhere is a scam, but when you're getting there late and you want to park as close as possible and you just want to get in the building and you don't really care about paying, and you always pay, anyway, it's not a big deal, you know? When I got to the show (probably 7:45 or so), the main lot was full and there were no signs out front -- they were just slowly cycling everybody through to Michigan St. where we got moved along. So instead of parking there (and for $25 I'm glad I didn't -- I've never paid more than $15 at the Rave) I paid $2 to park in the 16th St. Marquette lot, then walked the seven blocks back. It was a little annoying, and I missed part of Moving Units, but it sure beats either paying $25 or roaming around until finding something on the street, also probably seven blocks away.

I guess the $25,000+ we pay each year isn't enough and now they have to charge people to park in there, too.

This was my second NIN show, the last one being at Madison for With Teeth last October. I missed the curtain and I thought the crowd was a little mellow. I loved the talking though- Trent seemed to dig the crowd...not treat it like some tiny little venue and just get it over with.

I thought the sound quality was terrible. There was sooo much reverb I asked like 4 people what he was saying during starfuckers inc. and no one knew, but they thought it was anti-bush...so they cheered anyway. Maybe I was standing in a bad spot...

The security seemed decently thorough..how do you get a digicam in? Don't the metal detectors find it? I'm planning on hitting up the Green Bay show tonight, which is at the Resch center which I think is part of a Casino...don't wanna loose the camera to security. Maybe hawt Goth girls have better luck that guys?

The Resch Center isn't part of a casino -- it's on the grounds of what used to be called the Brown County Arena, and is now Shopko Hall, I think; I moved away from Green Bay right after it opened. It's across the street from Lambeau Field, at any rate, and not connected to the casino.

OMFG THANKYOU i been looking for days for recordings n stuff, hope you get the others up, it was my first NIN concert and you know it means somethen when your 25 yr old bio teacher says he even gets scared thinking about going to a concert like that......

as for the area.... yeah that was ok (we rode in a taxi from a restaraunt were we parked for free:) and on the way their some friends from ilinois were commenting on the area, since grade school, iv been going to mps schools, and even the best of MPS schools are located in some of the worst areas, like 19th and olive? and hawabout 7th and walnut, although between 3rd and 4th street was fun)

Thank you so much! I downloaded Closer and Terrible Lie, but have only been able to watch Closer over and over and over again. I cannot believe how good the quality is. Apart from it getting a little overloaded by the bassy breakdown, it's damn near perfect--and I can't complain about that, because it is HEAVY bass.

Thanks so much for not only taping, but for putting them up. I cannot WAIT to get Please, too.

I'm glad everybody's enjoying the videos -- they were really helped by the brightness of the stage lights, I think. Most videos that I shoot need at least a little brightening, some a lot (check out the videos I posted last week of Feist, and you can see from the frame how kind of washed out they look); these are the first that I've shot indoors that I didn't brighten at all.

I'll be back at the Rave tomorrow night, hopefully things go as well then as they did on Saturday.

My wife and I are seeing OK Go and Motion City Soundtrack tomorrow, I think in the first-floor venue. We're driving from Madison, though, so that's assuming I-94 isn't completely snowed over.

I only have a 512MB memory stick at the moment, unfortunately, so I'm only ever able to get about 20 minutes of video per show, but another stick is on my wishlist for this year. (Although, I suppose trying to shoot the whole show on Saturday would've drastically increased my chances of getting kicked out.)

Well, I saw the shw in Champaign the day before then drove all the way up to Milwaukee (I'm from Chicago). This was my 7th NIN show to date, my first being Lollapalooza in 1991...and I really enjoyed it. I liked the Rave show better than the U of I show.

I have to say though that I have been in many a mosh pit and up until the show at the Rave, the Ministry moshpit in Chicago in 1992 was the most violent pit I'd ever been in. It was rough, and hard to keep from passing out--then again I was also trying to make sure these two girls who had never been to a NIN show before and who had only been in one pit-like situation before from getting killed in there. Sheesh, oh for the days of pits where it was an art form rather than jagoffs just using it as justification to beat the crap out of someone else.

Oh, well. My war wounds or so to speak was a strained left arm from fending people off the gals to my dogtags being ripped off and lost in the pit, to getting seriously sick since then (I'm still recovering) probably from being so hot and sweaty (I didn't have space to take my biker jacket off in the crowd crush and I had two layers of shirts on for the winter) and then getting hit with the cold winter air afterwards. But it was still a good show, I'd never seen NIN in a club before...and making sure these two gals were able to see the show without them getting killed in the pit definitely made it worth it.

In the vid for "please" you see this girl get up on a guy's shoulder to take a picture...she was just off to my right. So it was cool to see your vids as it was pretty much what I remember from the show.

I didn't think that it brought the action down any, I mean, it wasn't anymore than when they play "the frail" toward the beginning of the set, or even when they play "hurt." Besides, this song is a NIN classic that hasn't been heard live regularly since at least 1992! So I was eating it all up.

Huh...I don't remember that at all. They only had a certain amount of time to play? That seems kind of weird. I saw the Black Crowes there on 10/29, and they played for 3 hours. It sucked, but that wasn't the point: they came on at 9 and got off the stage a little after midnight. Weird.

sorry this has taken so long.....went to other shows since and now things are settling down (finally!)

in reply to the post above here a little bit ^^^^the afterparty went really well (but it could've been the afterglow from a FANTASTIC show!)

Not everyone showed up but I got a ton of emails the next day that people were still stuck in airports (there was some blizzard somewhere). So we had roughly a hundred people there.

It was a good time regardless.

The band did not show but no one really cared. They all signed a guest/comment book that will be sent on to NIN in the VERY near future. And the whole band got afterparty t-shirts (even Rob and Brandi) due to the fact that no one was coming (at least I assumed that with the schedule they had).

Hmm...I've been to like 6 or 7 NIN shows and dont' remember SICNH being played at any of the more recent ones. It could be that I happened to see them in a city that didn't get that show (like on the Fragility Tour, I saw them in Indianapolis, and got there late too, heh) or maybe I'm just mixing old shows with new ones or just plain don't recall. My first NIN show was Lollapalooza 1991 so go figure. I remember at that Lolla 91 Chicago show that he played "Get Down Make Love" and he also played "Physical" and "Wish" a good year before they made their appearances on "Broken" so that was quite cool.

And kudos for the guy posting the video, just that IMHO I still think that it was a bad idea to bring mono to the show. Flu or a bad cold, not so bad, but mono...bad bad bad.

eh, I wouldn't worry much about it. I had a severe case of mono and my doctor said it was fine for me to go to school. Sure, you're contagious, but only if you're swapping bodily fluids with people. Otherwise...there isn't really much to worry about.
