But trent was very friendly and talkative tonight
he said something like "Fort Wanye knows how to rock, Im glad you guys can come to a concert and enjoy music unlike some places" (referring obviously to the lighter incident 2 shows prior) He really like that crowd. Aaron was really into it and dove into the crowd. This was prolly the best show of the tour anyone else agree?

He also said Fort Wayne must liek to smoke pot! that was pretty funny and of course everyone cheered

Fucking amazing. He said, "I know we haven't played a show here in a long fucking time," and he was glad that we stuck with him and that it was good to know that some people still liked music. He said, "you set out to tour and want to play a good show every night but sometimes it just doesn't happen. But tonight it feels really good." He also said, "apparently some people up front really like to smoke pot from the way it smells".

I won't even try to type the setlist, someone else will get it, the one already posted is close, needs a couple changes.

This was easily the best live show I've seen in my life thus far. Absolutely mindblowing. The band was tight and energetic as hell, and I absolutely loved the experience.

Was it just me, or did the guitars in the ending portion of "Beside You in Time" sound ridiculously cool?

Aaron diving off the middle of the stage was insane. I could have watched him do guitar acrobatics all night. Great show, the band sounded really tight. Would have been nice to hear a few more new songs I think, but the stuff they played was great. Please and Self Destruct in particular were excellent surprises.

my friend caught Trent Reznor's tamborine, im not sure how many he has thrown out this tour (havent seen anything in tour journal about it), but ill post some pics later - we didnt get any at the venue because obviously we werent gonna hold it up in the middle of the pit, we actually high-tailed it out

overall badassss show.. NIN was ON!

i liked when trent said "and obviously you guys like to smoke pot" or something along those lines.. really talkative... said "its nice to know that there are people who still listen to real music"

I wanted to thank (most) of the crowd at this show. Everybody was pretty friendly and after a few songs they finally started to get into it. There was a great energy at this show and it combined with the fantastic setlist to become an awesome evening.

Great show all around and a great crowd.

Great show. I ended up staying on the floor and was pretty much railin' it on Aaron's side, where I played Protector to my small fiancee and many others. Crowd was good, just a couple bad apples who got dealt with. Some fat retarded drunk redneck, for example, kept hitting this really short chick in the head with his elbow, so I elbowed him as hard as I could in the chest. He then tried to start shit with me and the chick's boyfriend, but thought better of it and joined the frenzy in the middle.

Highlights for me were TLBTB, Please, and TDTWWA, which fucking owned.

I wish we would have gotten EDIETS or WT instead of Starfuckers but oh well. I'll deal with it just fine.

And, oh yeah, I'm going to be sore tomorrow!

This was by far the best Nails show ive seen. This was the first time I wasnt in the pit for a Nails show, and although at first i was disappointed I didnt get the GA tickets... being able to sit back on not get clobbered every 2 seconds was definatlely worth not being right up front. The set list was totally awesome, and the asses in Grand Rapids really missed out, and IMO probably made the Toledo set suck. I was able to snap some pics, and recorded Hurt on video...so hopefully i can get them up soon

It took you 6 hours from chicago? Must have taken the scenic route... it took us 3 and a half. Amazing show, Aaron jumped into the crowd with his guitar, that made my night.

I want to thank everyone who went to this show and made it so fucking spectacular. No one was an asshole like the guy in Grand Rapids and I thought everyone was pretty respectful of BOTH bands. I can't stand when people are disrespectful to opening bands. Even if it's not your type of music, cut them some slack and cheer them on. It takes alot to get up in front of a crowd that is dying to hear the "bigger, better band" after you. Also, what I don't understand is why someone would pay to go to a concert and disrespect the bands by throwing shit at them. Luckily, nothing like that happened in Ft. Wayne and it turned out to be an awesome concert. I didn't get to meet the band or have sex with Trent afterwards, but I guess dreams don't always come true. Damn!

Mister Bukkake and Miss Horney Devil were spotted leaving the premises at O nine hundred hours. It has been established that the only event to report at that hour was a consumate headache. No deposit, either monetary or otherwise as it were, should be considered at this time. Repeat, no deposit required at this time. Please report back with any further findings. Over and out.

Although Fort Wayne was really not the BEST nin concert in any specific thing, I think it's probably the best I've been to (out of 5 others) so far. The band/music was TIGHT. The crowd was pretty energetic. Everyone really seemed to be having a good time. And the set list--it was awesome.

Ok. So here's a bunch of random things I noticed:

Was this the first time that alessandro came out for Mr. Self Destruct? I've got to say that I think he's the star of the show, and I'm glad he's comming out. I mean, all the musicians are awesome, but he adds in all those details that make the songs so great. He's very tallented.

Aaron was mellow for aaron tonight. But he had some great moments--especially at the end. And he dove in!

At one point, some dumb ass tech ran onto stage in the open to fix Jordie's mic stand. He took a while and was getting in jordie's way. Then he bumped into Jordie when he turned around to ran back to the mic (apparently it wasn't set up perfectly or something). Jordie just kind of just pushed him away and knocked over the mic stand again. I thought it was quite funny.

I loved Jerome, but Josh Freese is what the band needs now. Josh beats the shit out of the drums while having a very interesting style. Jerome was always hunched over and jamming, but I think Josh is the better match now. (P.S. Jerome's nearLY is sweet--check it out.)

Ft. Wayne was a little drive from Purdue but we made it. Ended up following a kid from Purdue all the way home lol. But ya show kicked ass. I was on the floor so great times. Only dissapointment was how insane people were going for the new singles. You'd think they had never heard gave up, march of the pigs, or burn but man when hand that feeds came on it was like trent just invented sliced bread. Anyways great fuckin show, they impress me every time. Seeing them in Miami over spring break cus I'LL NEVER GET ENOUGH TO FILL ME UP

that was my first NIN show! and it was awesome. i came up from indy w/ my brother. the set list was awesome. except it was annoying how rude people were to the moving units. i mean yes they suck! and the only good thing bout them is their drummer, he's the only thing keeping the band up.


yes it was awesome how talkative trent was. he seems so much happier these days , i've been counting down the days of the concert and now its over.............and now i have nothing to look forward to *sniffle sniffle*

hopefully they'll come to indy this summer or something. also im so glad hurt was brought back. i couldnt do much at this concert cuz i recently broke 2 front teeth, and i couldnt risk breaking them again.

i videotaped some things but its kinda far away, and their each only a few seconds long.............ill post em anyway.

O ya highlighted songs of the night would have to be march of the pigs, gave up, starfuckers, and I love it when they play reptile and eraser. Only song I wish they would add to their set list some time is the mark has been made. The pit went pretty nuts for starfuckers. There was one point in the show when 4 groups of people around me were smokin joints and not even a minute later trent's like "Smells like some people up front like to smoke pot". ahhh great show.

After eleven hours of sleep, I'm still reeling from this show. I'm still very worn out. That's another way I know that this show was awesome. :)

This was the best show I've seen since '95!!! The band was phenomenal! Thanks to everyone in the crowd that made it feel like it is supposed to feel. Indy never disappoints!

The show was absolutely phenomenal. I was to the left of the stage on the floor right under the speaker on the railing. My ears still feel like they're bleeding. I was very happy at the way that Trent acknowledged our energy, thus giving them more energy. I'm impressed at how well the crowd did. I'm sure that this will not be the last show that they put on in Fort Wayne. Good way to rock it, guys.

By the way, I would have killed for Trent's tambourine.

THe show was outstanding. I couldn't beleive how cool most of the concert goers were. We were about 20 back on the floor in between trent and Arron ...The group that was around my wife and I were really cool. I did , however, get hit with something extremely hard in the back of my neck. when i turned around to handle it I found the people behind me were soaked with water or beer. I felt bad for them. I also saw some ass flip a cigarette from the center of the floor to the front and it hit someone in the head. I cant even understand how some people can be so fucking stupid. The concert itself was amazing and we had a great time.

While the show was decent from a band performance perspective (and I do mean decent), the crowd ruined my evening. There were way too many idiots on the floor who thought this was a pre-season mini camp for propective NFL lineman set to post-modern industrial dance rock.

enough about that though, or I run the risk of sounding a pussy myself. I had never been to a NIN show before, and this was exactly what I had expected. I just didn't expect for it to seem so contrived. When I watched Trent or Aaron, I felt like they were playing the parts of "angry rock god" and "crazy guitar guy who likes to jump on/off shit". The sound was great, and the music was played as well as could be expected, but overall, it was a disappointing show.

it's ironic that at this show, where everyone from the band to the fans sets out to be "different/unique" and "real", seemed, with all the conformity and role-playing, more like a high-school prom than a rock show.

My girlfriend shot video of Terrible Lie, Closer, Only, and TDTWWA. She got full video on Terrible Lie and TDTWWA. We'll YouTube them as soon as we get some real bandwidth. We have about 170 pictures from the show and I'll get them cropped and up asap.

The show was pretty damned impressive and I think a lot of that had to do with the Spiral tickets that my girl was kind enough to get me. It's cool that Josh is mixing the drumming up a bit. It really makes some of those old songs we've heard a million times new again, kind of like how the interlude in Closer is different.

I'll have pictures and video as soon as time and bandwidth permit.

this was my first time seeing nin, even though being a fan for a decade now, and it was goddamn worth it.

self destruct/pilgrimage was the most awesome opener i could think of. highlights: closer, reptile, burn, tdtwwa, beside you in time, only, please, the hand that feeds... and yes, when the little synth dance part in the middle of thtf kicked in, the entire crowd went fuckin crazy. it was cool, but i also value my life. and i know i've heard about them mixing the only time with closer, but... it's fucking awesome when you hear it! talk about getting funky with it.

as i've heard about some of the asshole crowds from the past cities, i felt proud that fort wayne actually acted respectful. the pot was annoying though.

bad points: a muther fucker putting his hand down my girlfriends pants, my gf losing her shoe, and the moving units. generic dance rock, anyone? also, i thought fucking ww3 was gonna start when the goddamn tambourine landed next to me. anyways, best concert ever. and... goddamn.

i havent seen them since they were at ball state like 10 years ago, and a little no-name band, that noone had heard of, opened for them. anyone ever heard of marilyn manson? that was back in the scarry days. i cant believe i waited this long to see them again. definitely a breath of fresh air in todays world of manufactured, copied, unoriginal, mindless, mastebatory, sht.

I'm pretty sure he was talking about the few songs before NIN came on. They had some huge bass and started to get me pumped up.

There was no Pinion/New Flesh, it was the chanting from Pilgrimage that came in over top of the last song.

I didn't go to this show, but I'm answering about the music played before that is really bassy. I wondered the same thing at KC, and someone said it is Daft Punk, and I am fairly certain this is correct.

I also wrote a review of the show for my high school's newspaper. I'll post it a bit later tonight.

Since we are all taking a trip down memory lane here, I'll throw in my $.02. The last time I saw NIN was in 1994 and it was in Pittsburgh, it was a fuckin' awsome show and I remember the pit being CRAZY. This little unknown band called Marilyn Manson opened for NIN. Funny thing was I had seen Red Hot Chilli Peppers 2 years earlier and a totally no named band called Pear Jam had opened for them, HA! I was attending Carnegie Mellon getting my horse shit degree in Fine Art. You can all roll your eyes and call me an old fart.

ANYWAY, I thought last nights show was fucking great! The crowd in my opinion was totally mellow (could have been the pot) though I stayed on the very out sirts of the front pit/croud. I felt that the band was pretty tight. Was that Jeordie I saw playing an acoustic guitar? Someone yelled "Yeah Trent get your butt up there" when he climbed up on that platform during Closer, which I thought was funny as hell. I was surprised and the actual number of songs played, since it seems that most shows this year have been shorter.

One question, did the show sell out?

Awesome fucking show again. I still think the Chicago show in May of '05 was better, but it was an extremely small intimate venue.
What was up with the security at this show?? Every 5 seconds the security would shine their damn flashlights in my eyes. I was scared to smoke a damn cigarette - but still managed to get good and high
Trent mentioned something about it feeling good to be back, um when was he last in Ft.Wayne? Cause I dont' remember him ever playing there. This was my 3rd show since the WT tour started & it seems he keeps pretty much the same set list, always ending with Head Like a Hole.

So other then the security & the guy behind me hitting me in the head & dumping his beer on me.... damn good show!

Back in the pit for the first time in a long time. Tonight was a solo gig for me. My wife (the saint) has endured (4) NIN shows for me over the years and this trip she wanted to skip.

I took full advantage of the possibility and got ahold of a GA floor ticket. Everyone walks in and is asked by security to sit, I notice that on the floor they have kindly laid down plastic tile instead of bare concrete (Unlike Conseco Fieldhouse in 2000.) I strike up a conversation with a Bethany and Matt who have also made a few stops on this tour. I see the head of security start to give his cues to personnel and they start their descent behind the barricade. Matt and I shake hands and get ready for the possibility of a slight rush (to which none ever came.) No sooner does the last security personnel get into defense mode Chris Robinson takes the stage.. no wait I mean.. Moving Units take the stage! Their music was ok but the comment had been made that “their music doesn’t seem to go anywhere” and that “I couldn’t hear a word the guy was actually saying” to which both were also true tonight. It had a good beat and was catchy; maybe with a CD listen I would enjoy it more. But the mix was pretty bad down inside. The pit was completely lifeless during the opener and people were freely drinking their beers and talking with each other like it was a cocktail party.

The crowd was much more kind to them [Moving Units] than the 3 trips to Chicago on NIN’s Opening Acts. Tonight the lead singer made a comment to the effect of “Hey man, we give a little, you give a little.. it all works out in the end” To which they got zero comments back and started to play. No one seemed to heckle them though, must be an Indiana thing.

The changeover between sets was about a half an hour. The lights on and people going back to refill their beverages I cautiously watched this squirt behind me with his 16 oz beer 98% full with probably less than 3 minutes until NIN comes out. I told him “You better chug that down because in about 3 minutes it will be on the floor” (Thinking that really it will be all over me and everyone else) To which I was told “Nah man, I’ll be drinking it when NIN gets on stage” 4 minutes later- that beer was all down my back. I love pit rookies!

Although the initial surge was normal, the rest of the night was actually pretty laid back down inside. We all had our fun, but for the most part people knew to help each other up (I got caught in a surge and about 5 of us ended up on the floor) and people were pretty good about having decent “pit etiquette” I caught a few elbows in my back but for the most part it were more forearms than fists! The pit did die off fairly quick though. To let you know how tame it was -- I was actually able to tie my boot, in the pit, DURING “Gave Up.” After the “Eraser/Right Where It Belongs/Beside You in Time” segment, Trent came back out swinging and sadly; the pit couldn’t seem to muster up the energy to get back into it. I personally felt like I had just run a marathon and was pretty whipped myself by the time Starfuckers, Inc. started. But I gave until the very end. “Reptile” was once again the shining point for me and on this tour I come to expect it being played and welcome the moment it starts. I felt like I was in the pit alone during the song. I moved up literally 10 feet from when it started to when it ended. I felt like I was in a zone and headed more towards the front.

As far as the performance itself- it is so hard to compare one show vs. the next but I would put this performance up against any I have ever seen or heard in my life. Trent was ON, the Band was ON, and Josh Freese plays his drum parts like he was with the band when Trent wrote the songs! We got some stellar notable quoteables: He said, "I know we haven't played a show here in a long fucking time, I’m glad you guys came out and have stuck with us" to which the place nearly tore off the roof. At another point in the show he said, "you set out to tour and want to play a good show every night but sometimes it just doesn't happen. But tonight it feels really good." And indeed it was. He then said, "Apparently some people up front really like to smoke pot." And smoke they did, the smoke in the pit was heavy all night.

The aftershow and hanging out with people you know is one part that makes the experience complete- sadly I was here solo so there is nothing to report on the aftershow hanging out and re-living of the show with each other. I got into the truck headed out of dodge and stopped at a gas station about 20 miles outside of town to get some water to re-hydrate. By the time the show ended the concession stands are long closed and the line to the water fountain was about as long as the line to the bathrooms.

I missed the opening band just like the Chicago show I attended. I'm gonna have to agree w/ the NIN_Historian and say the pit was weak. For the first 5 songs I was back about 10 feet from the stage on the right side with plenty of elbow room. I moved closer to the middle/front after that because I was getting bored back there. The general admission area didn't seem all that crowded. I had seats when I went to the Chicago show and it just didn't feel right.

I accidentally elbowed a dude in the head and apologized for it. And he said something along the lines, "There is no need for apologies in the pit." I totally agree with him, cause when I was about three up from the gate I'm taking elbows to the side like its my fault a dude's gf is getting smashed against the gate. But that happens at about every concert I have been to, bla...

It made my day that Something I Can Never Have was played, my favorite NIN song. It was a great show, I have no complaints.

The security wasn't messing around either, I saw two dudes dragged out in some brutal headlocks. One of the ticket handler dudes flipped out on someone trying to get a GA wristband.

Someone from NIN was at Pierre's after the concert handing out concert tickets for a contest they had but I didn't walk downstairs to confirm who it was.

great show the best of all nin shows i have seen my 10th and 3rd on this tour......very good crowd...band just was on tonite.....is it just me but is arena hard to find?...i drove from indy and took for ever to find it.....anyways great show.

NIN PUTS ON THE BEST SHOW. I saw them in Green Bay on Valentine's day. Much better live then on album i must say. And Im just as curious about the name/artist of that bassy song before the show. No lyrics, just dark sounds and great bass. Pumped me up. My brother and I loved it and want to know the name. I was going to go ask a security guard to go ask one of the guys on the floor what the track name was. But felt I would get nowhere.

I took my 16 year old son to his first concert to see NIN.(Fort Wayne)...Dam what a fuckin awesome show ..I have been going to concerts all my life and this one beats them all...I first got introduced to NIN by my daughter....who has seen them twice now.....Trent is a amazing man ...and at our age(i am a young 43) he is still performing with kick ass style, and will always rock!!!!

yea he stopped during "hurt" when i saw him on saturday, in loisiana and said (because some fucks were hollering shit during the quietness of the song somethin like: " ive been wondering oh...0 concerts or so, why people holler through hurt,its pretty disrespectful in my opinion," and then later on he said before bite the hand that feeds "you can scream your tts off to this one!" it was greatness, and aaron threw his guit, some lucky fuck got it.....bastards lol...

i was suppose to go to this show with my gfr but had to work, i did however maker it for the champaigne show which fucking ruled. I heard from a couple people that the crowd fucking sucked, but there was a lot of pot smoking and people getting flashlighted out here and there. I guess my girlfriend was one person behind from being up front but she said the bitch was just sittin there text messaging her friend throughout the whole show, fucking shitty huh? Did they play happiness in slavey at this show?
