Yeah, he fucking said Texas. Best. Concert. Ever. TR was jumping and tearing it up, the San Antonio show paled in comparison to tonight. I can't believe TR got off the stage and let people touch him during most of "Piggy" and sing in "Suck." Man, doesn't get any better than this......well, maybe if I had been in the pit instead of in the seats, but for the most part everyone was into the show and on their feet. It was great in concept, but then everyone who sang was either way off key or just screaming while pissing themselves. Very cringe-worthy, and ruined the song for me. At any given moment there were 20+ hands all over his reachable body, and I'm sure some people trying to kiss him etc. as we always hear those stories. Luckily he went back on stage just before he got my way. Couple of comments:
First and foremost, the sound check / meet and greet was very cool. Granted it was shitty being let in a little late, but Trent was very interactive with the people present...joked about taking requests for sound check, and other chatter. Then, when it was all said and done, every single member of the band made the rounds and took the time to sign one item per person, as well as spend some time talking to them, and it was way more than just "oh hi" *scribble autograph and moves on*. Was really, really cool of them to do, and everyone there seemed to appreciate it immensely.
Tameness of the crowd had to do with it not being full, and security at the rail. I was the first crowd surfer of the night during Terrible Lie, and as I was escorted along the rail, they flashed a "Don't Come Back" sign to me, so I didn't want to risk gettinig tossed, the same with any of the other surfers. Sure, I know there's the majority out there that hate people like me (crowd surfer / mosher), but things like that get the crowd going. The little pit that was going was nice though, everyone was into the music and having a good time. Yes, I was hoping for more insanity on the floor, but hey, shit happens.
The band itself....fucking outstanding. Arguably the best rendition of "Something I Can Never Have" that I have seen in the 13 shows that I have seen since '94. Other highlights for me....EDIETS, Line Begins to Blur, Suck, and Beside You in time. Thought everything sounded really, really good.
Regarding "Piggy"....my friend was able to get some video footage with her digital camera (and some other decent pics) and it shows some of the molestation along the rail, albeit from a distance on the floor. I'll bug her to try and host it somewhere, but don't bitch about the quality, because it's not that great, and she has a messed up wrist.
Other than that, cool to meet some of the other ETS lurkers out there. Hopefully be able to be back for the 3 Texas dates in June.

the soundcheck was so awesome. trent taking request?! WTF?! yes! he played reptile for us! fucking awesome. i thought that would be it, and i would have been happy with that. but then they did the meet and greet! trent was in great spirits, cracking jokes with us. i was so happy, and happy for cat who has been trying to meet trent for so long and got to meet him finally. how's that tattoo coming along?

hanging out with adela and friends before nin came on was superfun. dancing like fools to m.i.a. we must have looked funny, but fuck it, i was having a good time.
the show started and right away i could tell the energy was kicked up a notch. the crowd was so loud and the band responded accordingly. aaron jumping into the crowd on top of us, trent coming up to the rail to sing along with us, they were smashing and knocking shit over, everything was taken to 10. even the clap during the hand that feeds (which alot of people think is lame) went well. when the clapping started i heard trent say "fuck yeah!" and i turned aroung in the pit and i could see the whole fucking arena clapping it. it was so fucking awesome! the highlight for me was trent giving us a shout out. before only i believe it was, he said something like "i met some of you in soundcheck and i think we play for the best fucking fans in the world."
at the after party hanging out with chris, kim, steve, cat and her bleeding tattoo, it was a blast. met a few other spiralists but don't remember the names. you guys all rock mucho. we were all just high on NIN. great fucking time. too bad you couldn't make it adela, next time.
it's hard to put into words how great it was, you just had to be there. i just want to say thanks to trent, NIN, all the spiralists who helped make this the best concert experience of my life. cat, chris, kim, adela and friends, steve, jeff, yaoi, kim, phat kat, everyone i met. i have not stopped smiling since the meet and greet.
now to focus on june! see you all there. lets do it again!

A non-UT subject was reported as walking along the mezzanine ledge hanging some 30 feet above the arena level of the building during the Nine Inch Nails concert. When asked to walk with an officer out of the mezzanine level, the subject strenuously objected and used vulgarities while threatening the officer's wellbeing. After being escorted into the hallway, it was discovered that the subject was bleeding from the nose as he had previously lodged a nail in his septum. The subject was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point that he was a physical endangerment to himself -- not to mention all of the patrons located in the arena level under the mezzanine ledge. Occurred on March 24 at 8 p.m.
