Saul williams was definitely cool...have liked him for a while and never thought I'd get to see him live... some idiots behind us were screaming "shut up!" and "we're white!" which was pretty homo... glad he did shakespeare and list of demands...

Nine inch nails was great..except the drummer seemed to get tired mid to late through... Great show though and very tight... the Bush thing didnt really seem insulting... I was suprised... more of discontent with the american way of life vs the rest of the worlds...especially when played with the backdrop of right where it belongs...great show though... of course they always are... 4th time i've seen them...

Awesome show! I wasn't expecting this one to be as good as when I saw them on The Fragile tour, since Trent had said he was toning down the production. (He really didn't; it's just different from the Fragility tour. It's actually more like the Downward Spiral tour, with the sheer curtain in front of the band showing footage, etc.) This was the second show for me. Great setlist; we all had a blast.

So, what's the deal? Am I the only one that didn't hear 'Pilgramage' at the beginning??

Well, this was my 15th show over the last 12 months, and in my opinion, it was flawless. It was my first time at the Aladin Theater and was expecting it to be like the House of Blues in AC two weeks earlier. The theater was significantly bigger and even with 4th row balcany, which was the furthest I have been from the stage all tour: the band, the sound, and the lights were right on. Great set list too!

I would pay to see this show again (anyone got a bootleg?), and if Trent is recording some gigs for a live DVD - this should have been the venue imo.

The show was an excellent way to end this leg of the tour. The boys were on last night and energy was high. This was only the second time I have had seats for NIN and I have to say it wasnt as terrible as I thought it would be. It lacked the intimacy but I was actually able to watch the show, i.e the curtain projection. Shaking my ass like no ones business was also a plus.

The dudes that were brawling during hurt were fucking priceless. Apparently one drunk bastard spit in another drunk bastards face. Then one screamed IM GOING TO FUCKING KILL YOU! so on and so on. Ah well. Guess you had to be there.

Opening with Mr. Self Destruct was great. My seat was far enough to the side that I could see the band anyway, even though they were behind the curtain.

Trent talked more than ususal during the show. He said "Thank you!" a lot, and he spoke for a little while at the show's midpoint. He thanked Saul Williams for touring with them and said that this was the last show until the summer. He said he was looking forward to sleeping for a couple of days. Then he apologized, of all things, that his voice was bad (????) and so he would try to push himself even harder.

Trent just rocks all over the place. No one puts on a better show.

Amazing show, however some quick comments as this is the third With_Teeth show I've seen.

Closer: During the last half (the instrumental section) instead of playing just closer it seemed to have something different. It reminded me very much of Pretty Hate Machine and I think it was somewhere in the piano/synthesizer they played a melody from Kinda I Want To, or maybe The Only Time. Can someone help me out? Or am I just stupid (don't answer that)?

Right Where It Belongs: I hate to say, but this song blew. I love Trent, he's amazing, but the guitar was severely off. I think it was just out of tune, but it was very noticable. The guitar fixed itself somewhere in the middle of Beside You In Time. It doesn't help that Trent has perfect pitch. He was singing where it was meant to be sung and the guitar was playing higher than it was supposed to be played. Other than that, no other mistakes.

The place was packed, but unfortunately the seats were close together, theatre style which didn't allow a lot of movement for the audience to get into it much... certainly wasn't as frantic as I thought it would be (I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing).

Last note, I was a little pissed at the end of the concert. This is the only NIN concert I've been to that they _didn't_ play Starfuckers Inc. Which upset me. Other songs I would have liked to hear included Love Is Not Enough (amazing live), Reptile and Piggy.

However, despite these minor imperfections this is the best performance by NIN I've seen yet... and there is more to come... woohoo!

Also, one more thing. Trent said he had a "shitty" voice? Well, I must say that even as "shitty" as it was I would _love_ it if even _that_ voice I had. I love Trent.... But I did appreciate that he said he'd push himself twice as hard to make it up to us... also, I think they deserve a few weeks of sleeping.

I think I was beginning to flake by Saturday.

I went and cruised the line, and it looked so glitzy compared to normal. Didn't look like a NIN crowd at all - lots of people looked "dressed up". Weird.

I met up with my friend from LA in the afternoon. He wanted to watch "the game", so we didn't get in until the second Saul ended - which was a shame, I'd really enjoyed his set in El Paso.

We're sat in our seats in row M, when this guy comes over and asks us if we want to swap seats with him and his girlfriend so she can take pictures - they were concerned about the big guy in front getting in the way. So we end up in row F, nearer the center (thanks again BTW, whoever you are!). I think my Karma's been pretty good this trip ;-)

Set list was great, sound was perfect. It felt like a very "Vegas set", though I'm not sure I can really explain what I mean by that. I finally got to enjoy the projection from a distance where I could actually see the images.

A great night, almost as good as El Paso a couple of days before.

Overall, I think those of us doing all three of the last shows were really lucky. The first show was very WT oriented for the DVD, the second very fan oriented, and third very Vegas. It meant we got to hear a really large number of songs over the three days. Icing on the cake :)

Now? I'm bruised, deaf in one ear and suffering from a severe lack of bank balance. I think I will need to work for a while so I can recover ;-)

But I think it was worth it :)

They've been performing "Closer" with elements of "The Only Time" throughout this current tour. It's been the standard version in all the shows I've been to in the past year. The transition into "The Only Time" is so sick. I love that beat!

Dude, it was supposed to be out of tune; that was the whole point. Listen to Right Where It Belings v.2 on the import disc. The version they performed was mix of that and the album version. I think it totally kicked.

I didn't notice it being out of tune. I thought it was great, as usual. The only thing I was disappointed by was the fact that Trent didn't shout "All right!" at the end of the song.

It was weird being on the floor w/ such a small crowd. I actually missed the pushing. Heh? I was on the barricade in front of Jeordie and kept pressing myself up against the rail as if I was getting pushed -- then it would dawn on me that I had a crap load of room and didn't actually have to do that.

It was great to get such a different set list than from the night before (although, the night before's kicked more ass, imo). While I thought the band had more energy in Cabazon, it was still a damn good show.

The room keys for the Aladdin had the NIN logo and show date on them. I thought that was cool. No chips this time, though.

(Time changes coupled with daylight savings is so not good when you're traveling.)

Seriously, I loved the show but was a bit disappointed with the setlist. My favorite setlist for this leg of the tour was definitely in Amherst, MA. Also the crowd was kinda odd. I was lucky enough to be near actual NIN fans but a few too many of the people there seemed like people visiting Las Vegas who decided to take in a show by that guy who sang that "Fuck You Like An Animal" song. I also envy the people in the GA section, as I was close but wow that GA had to be pretty cool considering it was like 5 people deep.

Also glad at the positive reception that Saul got, unlike the three previous shows I'd been to where it ranged from lukewarm to downright hate.

Oh and another thing, did anyone near my section hear that weird guy rambling during "Hurt" and then notice the fight that broke out in the section right next to 105? WTF??

Yea, so who the fuck here went to the stand after the show to get a lithograph only to find out that they were SOLD THE FUCK OUT. Yea that happened to me too. WTF?! This is the 4th show I've been to and the first to SELL OUT of these.

Holy jesus. I want my goddamn litho.

And the show kicked ass as always. Maybe it was just me, but it did seem like I was the only person there that was getting into the music. I was in sec 205 right behind the projector and from there I pretty much saw the whole theatre, and it felt like everyone was standing still. I guess I could be wrong, oh well.

BTW - You fucking re-re, the version of Right Where It Belongs is NOT the album version and it was NOT out of tune. You were just too deaf from Mr. Self Destruct.

And to be clear it has NEVER BEEN the v2 version. It's a version they only play live. v2 is only a synth piano; the live version is part guitar, part elec beat WHICH KICKS FUCKING ASS. Neither of them sound the same at all. It is probably the most beautiful NIN song I've ever heard.

Why am I the only person to notice this?

WOOOOOOO great show!!! My voice is still gone, i was a bit disappointed didnt get to hear the big come down or please but it still was the best of 6 NIN shows with in a year. On sunday i was just walking around trying to kill time for my flight at the Aladdin when i ran into what looked liked a very hungover Aaron North. He was waking very slow, didnt seem to have any energy at all, he was barly able to lift his hand to shake mines, still very nice and was able to pose for a pic with him. greatest show ever!!!!! and first NIN show while being drunk/buzzed.

Drunkpoet - Yes, I work for Dunkin' Donuts, and had no clue it was you I was talking too until after the show. It was a pleasure meeting you and your peeps and would have never connected the dots on my own (thanks Chris, better late than never).

Regarding the show, in hindsight, I think it would have been perfect if Sin and Starfuckers were played rounding the set list to 24. I am still blown away by my balcony seats, the view, and impact I had up there. It almost makes me want to sit in the balcony more often, but the pit is clearly more fun.

Can't wait for the summer leg, but will be bummed when it's over in June (arg).

Another fantastic NIN show! Since this was the closest they seemed to be coming to us, we drove up from Phoenix on Friday. Unfortunately that means I didn’t get the Spiral entrance email until I got home. It didn’t seem to be much of a bonus at this particular venue.

I was definitely envious of the small group who did get GA, although the lack of a mosh pit did seem to bring the energy down a notch. Trent’s apology for his voice was totally unnecessary. He put on a fantastic show as always! I loved when he spoke to the audience. Trent seemed much more relaxed and mixed it up a bit. And yes, he is definitely the only man who can make playing a tambourine look really cool.

Saul Williams was a refreshing opening act I thoroughly enjoyed. For those of you that didn’t get it, not to worry, there’s still hope you may one day evolve. This is our third time seeing NIN. QOTSA were another good opening. The Dresden Dolls were horrid. So enjoy that you got to see something much better in Vegas. I’ve now seen NIN in small, medium and large venue format. Each show had its’ unique qualities. I would have really missed the older stuff if I hadn’t caught it on an earlier leg of the tour. I loved hearing the newer offerings. The smaller venues have so much more to offer to the true fan. It was definitely worth the trip!

And finally, a big fuck you to the assholes who couldn’t shut up during Hurt. They’d spent most of the time talking and taking pictures of each other trying to convince themselves they were actually cool just by being at a NIN concert. I had the misfortune of being right next to them. Thank you to the couple who finally had enough and told them to shut up. So sorry you got kicked out as well.

drunkpoet- this is Chris from the pre-show, tom's buddy. wanted to thank all you guys again for hanging out before the show with the rest of the NIN family. you think anyone was pissed about the cottage cheese? that was a fuckin blast and hope we can do that again on the summer tour. you guys were very entertaining and the show itself was great (a little shorter than I expected, but glad to have seen Even Deeper played live again). Definitely made the whole trip to Las Vegas worth it.

I was fortunate to have pit tickets and loved that I was able to get up close without having to wait in in line all day. We walked in about 15 minutes before Saul took the stage and were 3 back from the rail right in front of Trent. I did miss the energy of being smooshed against one another, but it was nice to be able to totally focus on the band and the music. My only complaint was the douchebags that talked thoughout Hurt - and yes, they were in the pit! The folks behind me said they had been talking throughout the entire show. Definitely thought Trent's voice was cashed as there were a couple of times he couldn't reach a couple of the high notes. All in all good show.

I arived in line about 3PM and then at 5:45 Brandy started to let the general admission people in first which was kinda weak seeing how some of them just got there. Anyways there was no sound check or meet and greet. Then I opened my envelope and realized The sprial messed up on my tickets and put me in row BB instead of B which is what i got when ordered them i double checked when i got home they didnt even get my row right i was in row 104 but i was suppose to be in row 102. Then the show started and i wanted to give saul williams a chance so i tried to sit through his set but the music was brutley loud i could feel it in my chest so i left and got earplugs at one of the stores and then arrived back to see the rest of his set which was really good. although the ending where the dj gets dragged out by the roadies is kinda dumb. Then NIN starts with pilgrimage which is soo fucken cool i must admit. then Mr Self Destruct starts which was perfect live I cant imagine why some people say it isnt that good live. Furthmore the show was one of the best for me because i was far away from the stage and i got to take it all in and see all the details of the lights.Trent also spoke during the concert stating how sorry he was for his voice being fucked up and how he is going to try to to push himslef just for the crowd. Also the acoustics in the where amazing aladdin!! All in All i give this show a perfect 10!

i was in the pit in front of jeordi. there was less than 100 people in the pit or so the security there told us. TR insisted on a pit, the aladin didn't want any at all, TR won. i usually have a seat so this was my first pit and even though it was a baby pit it proved to be trecherous. during the last song aaron smashed his guitar up and threw it high into the air. being from new orleans and a big fan of "throw me something mister mardi gras mentality", i was watching the guitar sail down with glee, for a second, i was up above it, then i realized it was coming down on top of me and my friend ( a NIN show virgin) and we would soon be down in it! All at once pitsters were on top of us, slamming us into the first row on seats, fighting for the mangled prize. I curled up in a chair with my arms across my face and put my feet out in front of me planting into one of the dudes body that was leading the guitar pull happening on my friends chest. one dude had it from the back of my friend, one on the side and one in the front. was trying to keep one them off of us with my feet and security was pulling them off too but of course none of them were letting go. finally we got out from under the frey and the three guys stood there twisting and pulling til they broke the guitar into three pieces. you would think these three dudes would have at least apologised to us after the kill but no, just rude assholes only caring about a piece of shit broken guitar. we both have battles brusies today. i admit that throwring stuff in the crowd makes for a good show but one day TR is going to get sued, it all fun until someone has to pay a load of money. still despite our beating we had a great time. we caught a bunch of guitar picks and ate NIN cookies. Yes, the cookies had the NIN image on them! Wigglebutt , sorry we were so close and didn't meet. Thanks to Erin, standing next to me for being a cool, nice chick. Thanks to Rich and Jamie for the wonderful weekend.

Hello everyone! Never posted before but thought the show deserved as many props as possible. I was surprised by the acoustics of the theatre- everything came across so clear. Plus you could tell there wasn't a bad seat in the house. The row I was in (209- A) had the only two security guards, or whatever they were, who didn't seem to want to be there and they didn't seem to have any consideration for the fact that we all might actually want to see the show- had to strain to see around them sometimes. I was also pleasantly surprised not to be searched before the show. I was absolutely moved by the performance of Eraser, Very poignant and purposeful. Saul Williams was an interesting change of pace. Loved what they did with Closer, and pretty much everything else. I have seen quite a bit of negative things on here about Aaron, but we really liked him and it seemed to me like he fits really well into the scheme of things- would like to see a little more passion from Jeordie, though. But anyway- absolutely amazing concert experience, as is to be expected from Trent. One last comment: to the people screaming at the end of the show (outside the theatre) what the hell?! We arrived at the Aladdin Theatre around 6pm, just when the Spiral line was being let in. Thanks to my Spiral membership we had kick ass seats, 4th row center.
Saul Williams was incredible. I had read other NIN fans reactions to Saul and was really looking forward to seeing him and I was not disappointed in the least.

Then NIN opened with Mr. Self Destruct and then it was just unbelievable from there. This is my 5th show on this tour and by far this show was the best. I got to hear four songs in the set that I hadn’t heard before including the opener. The energy of the band was out of control and the sound was excellent from my vantage point. The curtain (which I hate) came down but this time I was just close enough to see through it and was able to see Trent and Jeordie (during RWITB) so I was quite happy about that.
During Closer, Trent was on a platform behind the drums and it was such a great performance of that song. And WT was done very sexy. Who knew that song could be so good?? Hehehe SICNH was very heartfelt and soulful. What can I say I am running out of adjectives to describe this show. Thesaurus anyone?

My only complaint is the jerks behind me who insist on talking through all the slow songs. I wanted to turn around and tell them to shut up but I didn’t want a confrontation during any of the songs so I bit my lip. That happens at every show I go to, noisy people during the ballads. Ugh!!

Once the show ended, I sat for a few minutes and then I got up and asked one of the security guys in a suit, if I could have his pin and he smiled and gave it to me.

After the show, I was bummed that no one wanted to grab a bite and hang out. Cabazon zapped the energy out of most of the people I knew. Oh well, what can you do?

Anyway, I may end up traveling to one of the summer shows if a Florida date is not added (which I am sure it won’t) but if for some reason the Vegas show turns out to be the last one for me. It will have been worth all the hassle (see my MySpace blog) because it just doesn’t get any better then this.

This was my 3rd "With Teeth" show. I could have killed myself when I saw how small the pit was! I passed up a GA ticket at the presale b/c I was in the pit in San Diego and I couldn't see anything except the top of Jeordie's head. I'm only 5' 4" and I always get stuck behind fucking giants, so I thought I'd be able to see better in a seat. I was in Sec. 106, Row R. The dude in front of me was about 6' 2" but luckily I had an aisle seat and could see around him. The security guard stood right next to me the entire concert and was hell bent on keeping people out of the aisle. I think he was mostly worried about the guy w/the mohawk across the aisle from me. It's really fucking hard to dance in such close quarters but Mohawk guy managed to kick it pretty well and only got yelled at once or twice.
I guess they didn't care about people smoking weed b/c there were some chicks in the row in front of me who were blazing through the whole concert and he could see them clear as day.

I had a Spiral ticket but I didn't go in the spiral entrance. It was 7pm when I got there and I opted to go to the Todai sushi buffet instead. If there HAD been a meet and greet I'd be so bummed right now!

I was talking to the guy sitting next to me about the crowd. He was surprised to see such a diverse group of people at a NIN concert. I think that's what I love about NIN shows the most. Trent's fan base is a melting pot- white, black, hispanic, asian, old, young, hippies, punks, lesbians, headbangers, stoners, jocks, and middle aged soccer mom's (like me!). Everyone (with a few exceptions) is really friendly and cool. Fucking awesome. Trent should be really proud that he draws such a great crowd.

This was the 2nd time I saw Saul williams open. I love that guy! I bought his CD at the last show. So glad he replaced QOTSA, who totally sucked ass.

The songs played were pretty good, although I liked the San Diego song set better. I was bummed they didn't do Starfuckers or Sin. Wish, Hurt, and Right Where It Belongs were my fav. Those cock-bites who started fighting during Hurt should have been deballed for interupting the song.

I noticed more people sitting down than usual. The 2 people in front of me sat through over half the show. WTF? They didn't seem to into it.

I was going to hang out and gamble at the Aladdin after the show, in the hopes that the band would be out there, but there were so many fucking people, I said screw it and walked back to Harrah's. (Aladdin was FULL! I wish I had one of those NIN key cards!!) Played craps for 9 hours and came out $350 ahead. I just might have to buy a litho on ebay. It really SUCKS that they run out so fast.

Anyone know who got the tambourine?

It was a rocking show. It was not one of the better setlists on the tour. I thought the AC show was the best that I have seen on this leg. Although it was 95% all seats, they were on their feet the entire time!! Lot's of energy rolling through the place. And NIN were slaying.

I am going to link so pics I was able to get, they are in high rez so it may cause a problem for some. Let me know if it is, and I will shrink em down. Some of the pics turned out pretty good, and got some really good crowd shots. Also, a picture of me standing in front of some of the schwag that was all over the place. Pic 16 is when Aaron chucked his smashed guitar into the crowd.

At least next time we get to see them, mutha f'in Bauhaus will be opening!!! Hahaha!! It doesn't get much better then that!!! Even though I have thoroughly enjoyed Saul every time this leg, its frickin Bauhaus!!

Well, when you're staying on the 51st floor you have some time. I did cut the shit out of my finger when getting it out. Somehow i manged to fly it all the way home to Atlanta and its still in perfect shape...except for some blood splatter (which really just adds to its value and coolness)

I was in 105, row U, and heard the guy two rows behind me rambling during Hurt. After noticing others around me turning around to look his way (clear sign of annoyance) I turned around, told him I could hear him better than the band, and asked him to PLEASE be quiet. If you encounter yourself in a situation like this, don't be afraid to speak up! I had to do the exact same thing at the Hollywood Bowl last year. I'll wait about half a minute, see that other people are noticing the talking too, and if no one speaks up, I will firmly tell the offending party I can hear them better than the band, and then I POLITELY ask them to be quiet. If you turn around and spit out anger and cursing, it just gets ugly. Being nice about it gets better results, and you're more likely to get the support of people around you if the offender tries to continue their noise pollution. (Maybe it helps though, that I'm a girl, and perhaps less likely to be a target of retaliation from a drunk male.)

Just got back from Vegas...so I need to probe my mind now for details.

Okay, let me just break it down into the good and the bad:

Good: Saul Williams. He brought an interesting vibe to the whole experience, and I loved the intensity of the beats, especially hearing Black Stacey live. Props to the DJ as well.

Hearing new musical arangements of certain songs, like Witha Teetha, Everyday is Exactly the Same, and Closer. It made them fresh again. I also really love the whole scrim interlude, and hearing Eraser and seeing those images was surreal. And Something I Can Never Have sounded wonderful.

Josh is the best fucking drummer I have ever seen live.

Listening to how emotional people were when Hurt was played. Some were weeping and and singing along softly. I thought that might be annoying, but it was touching because (at least where I sat) people were being respectful. I thought I was sick of this song live, but surprisingly enjoyed it quite a bit.

Last, seeing Trent straining his voice and giving it his all. He is a marvelous performer, and it is a pleasure to see someone who is willing to go the extra mile for something when they don't necessarily have to. **Note to the ladies/fangirls/fanboys: Trent looked damn fine when he shaking it with a tambourine. He also gave his crotch an incredibly hard squeeze during Closer, which was sexy (but ouch?). And you could really see the definition of his arm muscles when the lighting was bright during Head Like a Hole. Thank God I brought my binoculars.

Bad: most of the bad was NOT from NIN, but from the many, many assholes that seemed to pepper this particular crowd. I expect some of this with every concert I go to, but Vegas just seems to turn people into ULTRA bastards. For example, am I the only NIN fan who doesn't smoke? I was happy when I found out that people weren't supposed to smoke in the venue, but guess what? I was surrounded by people who did it anyway. I'm only complaining because I'm allergic to it, and by the end of the concert felt like I had been punched in the face. Also, to the asshole who threw up next to us: I hate you. Because of you, I couldn't enjoy the first three songs of the concert because the staff was cleaning up your mess. Also, the assholes directly behind us were screaming "Fuck You" to Saul Wiliams. I hate you as well.

The crowd didn't seem too lively. The tiny little GA pit was virtually lifeless. I think the second half of the show was better than the first. I'm probably one of the few who didn't think that Mr. Self-Destruct sounded that great live. Also not a big fan of the way Only sounded.

Anyway, thanks Trent, Jeordie, Alessandro, Aaron, and Josh for an overall great experience.

Ha! I was wondering who made off with the poster from the elevator. I tried in vain to get one since lithos sold out before I got to the front of the line. I think it is cool that the Aladdin key cards has the NIN logo printed on them and a sweet lady working at the buffet gave me her NIN pin. I absolutely love seeing the NIN logo and videos snippets of the band projected on bigscreen while walking up and down the Vegas Strip.

Saul William was great. "List of Demands" is a wonderful concert song and fun to dance to. What kind of cookies did Saul fling out to the crowd, out of curiosity?

NIN was spectacular and beautiful! This is the 5th With_Teeth concert I attended and the first time I got reserved seating. It was nice being able to appreciate the light show in full even if I had to peek between people or stick out into the aisle because I'm so fucking short. Other times I've been up against the barricades so I only really saw pretty pools of light on the screen, therefore I was completely blown away by the full effect (especially for "Beside you in Time") this time. This was also the first time I heard "Even Deeper" live and in general I enjoyed the set. Energy was phenominal from the band. Even though I felt slightly disconnected because I wasn't in the pit, I could still feel the intensity. Trent's voice was solid and everyone looked great. The brawl during Hurt was just bizzare...I'm assuming the people fighting were escorted out, but I couldn't see the action.

The crowd was fun, pretty energetic and I met a lot of nice fans including a lovely gal on the red-eye back towards home. I did meet the first person in line (Riot) and she had been there since the day before. She was incredibly cordial given the fact that she was exhausted. I thought I saw drunkpoet and meathead before the show. I'm not sure (as I doubt many people are named "Gus" these days) but I took their demenor as not wanting to be bothered, so I left the two alone. A couple I met were at their first NIN concert and it was sweet to see their sincere awe during the show. We also ran into a pair of guys on the way back up to the hotel rooms that got tickets last second. The two were casual listeners and decided to see the concert on a whim and said they were "totally blown away."

Security was kind of uptight though--at least in my section. I was about a foot away from my aisle seat and one of them literally nudged me back in. Before Saul even came on, I saw one of them tell a gal to take her feet off the back of the chair she was resting them on. There were empy seats in front of me and mid-set a couple of guys went to occupy that space. Immediately security asked to check their tickets and made them move out since they didn't match. Those seats remained empty for the rest of the show. Hmph.

All in all, it was a fantastic experience. I've never been to Vegas before, so I really enjoyed my time there. Saw a bunch of shows, toured Hoover dam, ate well, etc. etc. Seeing NIN was the icing on the cake.

Anyway, I'll have pics up once they get resized. A bunch of them look like studies in color, but oh well. A couple are decent and worth sharing.

Also the acoustics in the where amazing aladdin!! All in All i give this show a perfect 10!

Yes, the cookies had the NIN image on them! Wigglebutt , sorry we were so close and didn't meet. Thanks to Erin, standing next to me for being a cool, nice chick. Thanks to Rich and Jamie for the wonderful weekend.

Holy shit. I NEVER EVER thought anyone could fucking complain about the pit being 'trecherous' when the fucking security guards could WALK BETWEEN people in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd rows. This was the LAMEST pit I have ever had the displeasure to be in....a pit should involve physical pain, not the mental angish of realizing you are the ONLY person rocking out in GA. If you thought Vegas was intense, do yourself a favor and don't EVER get GA to a normal NIN show, or even a reserved seat because normally people in the first couple rows rock out harder than they were doing in this pit. It was complete, lameass, bullshit imo.

And about Trent throwing shit into the crowd....he does it and it rocks and if you are a pussy enough to complain about Trent or Aaron throwing stuff at you, do everyone a favor and don't come. Let people who really want and enjoy being there be there, people who really deserve and will make good use of a GA ticket. And if anyone sues Trent for injuries from a flying water bottle or guitar I will be so angry I will bite someone's head off. Fucking retard.

Anyways, yeah Trent's voice was a little off, Aaron's guitar in RWIB, and the crowd blew. Not my favorite show, but I drank myself into oblivion afterwards so it didn't really matter.

I agree. I don't know how people could say the crowd sucked. This was the only show I had seen on this leg of the tour with seats, where the ENTIRE crowd was virtually on there feet the entire time. This pic says it all:

Really Suzie, take your negativity back to the Spiral, we don't need you here. Restless Dreamer I totally understand, I don't do pits anymore, I was quite content with my 4th row center seats. The only time I sat down was during Eraser because I can't stand the curtain.

It is interesting how everyone has such a different perspective on the same show. Personally, I don't care how the crowd is, I am not there to watch the crowd. I am there to watch the band perform. I had a great time and thought this was Nails at their best.

Eh, the only person who recognized me before the concert was Sal/Chris and I can't recognize people worth shit. The times people did recognize me was when I was at the airport--red-eyed, cranky and without makeup on at 3:30 am, so there you go. I feel bad I didn't bother checking e-mail before I left. Very nice! I really should start bringing a camera to concerts. There was this chick a few rows infront of me getting a ton of videos and about ever 2 min. this nazi security guard would come over and flash her flashlight on her and tell her to stop. It got to the point where someone actually said something to her and she backed off a bit.

I dont what it is about Vegas the crowds are alway lame there. We were in the balcony (woke up late when tix went on sale) and the ppl in our section didn't even stand.

We were in the pit in vegas during the 2000 tour and it was lame back then as well. You expect vegas to be such a party town...weird.

That being said, the show was fun. I'd loved the fact the setlist was quite different from the night before. And it was nice to have an unobstructed view of the entire stage the whole time, like watching a DVD. And sound was good being in the center.

I saw the poster missing from the elevator, I would have loved to have the huge one out were the taxi pickup was. Still I kept my roomkey so that will suffice.

I agree. I don't know how people could say the crowd sucked. This was the only show I had seen on this leg of the tour with seats, where the ENTIRE crowd was virtually on there feet the entire time. This pic says it all:

A DRUMMERS PERSPECTIVE OF THE ALADDIN SHOW
Continued from cancelled Cox Arena show Sept. 05.

Finally got a chance to sit down and give my input on the Aladdin show. I was going to write from my laptop but the only decent connection I could get was in the hotel room bathroom. Not a place you want to spend too much time in when you are in Vegas.

Bought Jeromes nearLY CD and gave it a first listening while taking the long route to Vegas. Drove out through Joshua Tree Nat'l. Park (use to rock climb back in the day) stayed the night in 29 Palms then took the back way through Amboy & the Mojave State Preserve. Great vast barren dessert!!! Jeromes "straight to nowhere" must have been written for that drive. Over all nearLY reminds me of PJ Harvey.

Stayed at the Strat as usual. Has anybody checked out the top 40/R&B house band called Area 51 there? These guys are great. They play like 5 hours a night, 5 days a week and if you like music from the 70's, they play the obscure songs really close to the original recordings. The guitarist plays like Jimi Hendrix & kind of looks like him (use to be in a top 40 band myself, among others). Last time I was at the Stratosphere was in January (to see drummer David Garabaldi & Tower of Power at the Orleans) same band Area 51 at the Strat.. Don't laugh they do killer versions of Peter Frampton & Grand Funk Railroad. I am not kidding you have got to see them. Especially if you were around back then and know the songs inside out, or... "Inside Looking Out" as the case may be.
ON TO THE ALADDIN

Yes, I saw the chicks with the Perfect Drug shirts & skimpy outfits. I notice things like that.

Balcony seat front row, sort of.

I hadn't listened to any NIN since the COX show in SD last Nov.(I have a long rant regarding drummers etc. on the cancelled show in Sept.) I went on a cruise in the Gulf of Mex. and got heavily into punta rock calypso music. Then got back into Steel Pulse. Saw them 2 weeks ago, House of Blues, Anaheim. I miss their last drummers Steve "Grizzly" Nesbitt & Conrad Kelly.

Anyway...............I WAS READY FOR NIN!!!!!

The Aladdin may have been the best concert for me (Joint, Soma2, Cox 1 & 2) but the line begins to blur. Everything seemed fresh & I was amped & on the verge of going berserk. I had previously practiced (last year) A LOT of homework on the drumming from all the CD's & it kicked back in like it was yesterday. If only I could bring my electronic set to the concert. Maybe Trent could use two drummers.
SPEAKING OF DRUMMERS

If you have read my cancelled COX rant you know what I think of the IRREPLACEABLE Jerome Dillon. Nobody can play Piggy, Spiral (although Chris came up with the beats) & Fragile songs better. As previously mentioned JeroME could make NIN swing. Alex shinned best on rock songs like Love is Not Enough, Reptile and the beat displacement songs like Eraser, but simply was not versatile enough. NIN is a tough gig!

Josh Freese kind of bridges the gap. Even the Dave Grohl gap - We all know Josh's reputation. I had seen him play with A Perfect Circle & at the Guitar Center Drum Off finals a few years ago. Not to mention Saturday Night Live on TV with Paul Westerberg. Did I see Josh at Irvine Meadows when he was about 12 years old playing a song with Toto before Jeff passed away or was it some one else? Josh's drumming was way different than with A Perfect Circle, meeting the challenge of NIN.

One of my favorite songs with Josh was "You Know Who You Are". Josh please tell me you were playing double kick. I will cry if that beat was sequenced. Josh just pray that Brooks Wackerman isn't available for the next tour. I would love to give "You Know" a shot with NIN & of course "Please" from the Fragile. They never play that song and it has the coolest second line drumming.

ONLY was way superior than at the COX show, although it still did not take me back to the seventies. Josh really did a good job rocking to the off beat and I could hear the hi hat.

Then Josh plays Jerome. Jerome played on the song "With Teeth" on the CD. Josh has Jerome down on that song. The drum beat sounds disjointed until you figure it out. Josh figured it out and made it groove. The trick I think is the kick or tom beat on the & of three, every other measure. That's what holds it all together.

The sound at the Aladdin was really clear. No stuffy/space head ear ringing afterwards. For some reason the lighting had more impact for me at the Soma2 show. Perhaps it was because the venue was smaller, I was closer and the light show was really in your face. I recall the lighting was so electric that I could almost feel the electricity charging through my body. Not to say that the lighting wasn't good at the Aladdin. There is guy on this thread that has seen 15 shows in the last year. I would be interested in which show sticks out in his mind & why, and why he hasn't got a life? Just kidding we are all NIN addicts & gotta do what we gotta do. Is NIN the Perfect Drug?

Added upside - the girl standing next to me kind of wanted me to go home with her... so she said. Hey NIN fan on this thread, dress up for a NIN show and you have a better luck with the girlies.

Down side - I made the mistake of parking on the 8th tier of the parking structure. I was not the only one that took over an hour to drive out. I met a fellow NIN fan - uh at ... an after hours club. His tip was park at the Paris. "Got out of there in less than 20 minutes".

All I can say about the club is that I met my DREAM GIRL there &.... "I just want something I can never have".

Hands down the best day/night/day so far this year! Didn't get to bed until 4:00 AM. Broke even on double bonus video poker. Drove home on Monday.

Looking forward to show #6 at the Irvine Amphitheater in July.

Three quick things. Sorry I put Last down in my setlist. I knew what I meant.... It was Wish, not Last and I"m willing to admit my mistake.

Second, thanks to whomever informed me of their Closer/The Only Time medley, you rock.

Finally, to whomever's calling me an idiot for thinking that it's not so cool to have the guitar out of tune on Right Where It Belongs... well, I'm just glad you're free to have your own opinion. Mine, however is that it would have been better if it were there With_Teeth album. However, thank you of informing me of the v.2 Right Where It Belongs....

Oh yeah, one last thing, was _no_ one else pissed that we didn't hear Starfuckers? I was expecting someone to comment on those, but I've only seen one post about it other than mine regarding the missing Starfuckers....

the lithos were sold out before the show began which pissed me off. i was sick which sucked ass as well. but the show was pretty good anyway. i had a good seat up front in section 106 so i got a lot of good pics of aaron. the pit looked lame for a nin show and most people in the pit didnt look like nin fans much. they just stood there with their drinks and didnt rock out or get into the show it seemed, shame.

they also didnt play starfuckers, probably because they played it the night before and it had too much popozao.

anyway, heres 318 of the pics i took. go to the vegas album

ok, WOW. I haven't logged into this thing for at least a year....so here goes.

First off, I was excited as hell because I was FINALLY gonna meet Jaimie and it was just cool because we've been friends for so long "online"

So there was a line already, my friend Trevor and I had seats in the balcony, so we didn't care that people were already standing there.

For those of you who don't know, I have a NIN tattoo on the back of my neck, so all weekend I met some pretty cool folks, with the occassional dumbass who shouted "NINE INCH NAILS, TRENT REZNOR, WOOOO!" at me.

I was most concerned about getting drunk, so beer was the only thing on my mind really. A security lady gave me her NIN pin. Then I was talking to Jaimie, finally meet her, she is the cutest thing EVER, and another surprise, ARABIA (who I haven't seen since the New Orleans trip with Tyler forever ago) pops up with a princess crown and looking pretty as well. I then meet two other girls (I wish I knew who you were on here!) and CLIFF! (yay!!!!) and I also spy Meathead but didn't have time to chat.

p.s. I was the girl in the BLUE POLKA-DOT DRESS and ORANGE HIGH HEELS with wings and star tattoos on her back.

I started to stand in the beer line, met two dudes named Jason and Steve, they were rad and bought my beer for me because I forgot my ID. I hear the opening song being Mr. Self Destruct and I run in, get in my seat.

I've never been drunk at a NIN show and I dont think I'll do it again. It was a good time, I had all the words right, I just don't remember a whole lot of the show. Except I got really excited when they played With Teeth and Even Deeper.

Whenever they play Salt Lake, their set lists are typically generic...probably because they think that we wouldn't know any of the "cooler" songs, but whatever. As for the Las Vegas crowd not being too interactive, thats true I think, Salt Lake City always shows them a good time.

I agree that song stood out of me too and the lights were fantastic. talk about sensory overload! I also agree that I experienced the best acoustics at the Aladdin (or maybe is because I actuall sat in seats so I could actually hear a balanced mix from the speakers?) I'm not a drummer, but I have been taking the time to pay attention to the drumming at these live shows due to the changes in lineup. Curiosity mainly, so thanks for your review, nbps. I was comparing the Austin Erwin Center bootleg to the San Antonio SBC center bootleg yesterday and although Alex sounds more aggressive, I think Josh sounded more precise.

I was most excited about hearing Even Deeper though because I had never heard it live before.

Sorry you were sick, and yeah, I was more than upset about lithos getting sold out (about 10 people in front of me) because I promised to buy one for a friend who couldn't come. I ended up mailing him my Aladdin key card that had the NIN logo printed on it, but I was bummed about merchandise in general. I thought I got in the mech line early enough but by the time it was my turn there were no lithos, no pins and no size small shirts.

the worst thing about vegas was i came home sick.. and i didn't even have any alcohol the whole trip..

i must say though my friend coming back sunday morning with coronas, bottled water, and an almost empy bag of tostitos in her bag was quite funny.

Really though, I'd think seeing a show drunk would be a bad idea. I was pretty close to drunk in Vegas but that was only because the alcohol wasn't costing me a dime. I had to get as much in me as possible before the show. Like I'm going to pass up on free booze. :)
