Okay, I'm not at the show right now, but I just called up a friend who is there and she said right after a song ended, a lightning storm came and shut everything down. She was on the lawn section and I guess they wanted to move everybody in that part of the section off. Some people left. But she thinks they are about to come back on.

Got there in time to see Bauhaus for the first time. Their performance is reason for me to check them out further.

Trent went through 3 or 4 shirt changes. !

During the "rain, rain go away" part of Down In It, the audience was getting misted (at least in section 2) from the crazy blowing rain that picked up during the song. I don't know that they could have pulled that off any other time as well as they did, but it felt like the right song for the moment. The crowd got crazier during this uncanny rain circumstance. Unforgettable.

Right before DII, Trent was mumbling something like "I think we're gonna do this...I think we're gonna do this...I think this is gonna work."

Cool rat-tail lights during Non-Entity. Trent assaulted Aaron during one song, I forget which.

The band was completely ON. Jeordie was bangin' it...normally he seems sedated...he was rockin it out on several songs.

Trent was extremely hot.

Some girl caught his tambourine when he threw it straight up to the middle of the pit.

Good show. Much better than the one I saw in Champaign back in Feb. Kept debating whether to spend $30 on an "n" tank but I gave in!

Hello. The setlist posted last night was accurate. After "The Big Come Down", Trent said something about how the voice in his head told him they needed to stop. Some roadie came out and said the show was going to stop while an ugly storm passed over us. He said the show would start again at 11 (it was 10:30-ish by that time), but I swear the band was playing again around 10:45.

Anyway, the band came out, Trent mumbled something about how he felt like he was having sex with all of us, and how the band was going to play extra songs. (Looks like they didn't, but whatever.) The band had been kind of going through the motions at the beginning of the show, then picked it up around the middle, then went apeshit after going back on stage. Jeordie was being quite the cheerleader throughout the show, though.

Yes, the storm was so bad that even in the pit, people were feeling the mist of the rain. It looked like it was even getting on stage too! Craziness. The lightning bolts were pretty wild too. It almost seemed like the light show and the bolts were synching up at times. I got the feeling somebody was trying to pull the plug on the show after the band returned, and Trent decided he wouldn't stop again.

Oh, and my buddy almost got the tambourine. It was pitch black when he looked up, so he couldn't time his jump. The girl behind him got it. My friend hopes she'll play it, because he was intending to somehow use it in his recordings. Oh well.

All in all, what could've been just another show turned out really well in the end. I'm glad I decided to go.

I am completely blown away as I have just returned from the pinnacle of NIN in concert. This was, hands down, the best NIN show I have ever seen and quite possibly the best concert I have ever attended. I got there quite early and saw both TV On The Radio (who was quite impressive) and Bauhaus. The crowd wasn't as large as I thought it would be, and there were many older people there (40s and even 50s). It was hot as hell (around 100ºF and high humidity), and I just knew it was going to storm later during the night. And it did.

First off, here is the amazing setlist (I might have a couple of the songs in the wrong places):

NIN took the stage around 9:30, and the first thing that struck me were the visuals. The visuals were simply amazing and stayed that way throughout the show. The sound was great and Trent looked spectacular. I was standing just behind the 'box seats' so I had an excellent view of the stage. As the show went on I noticed lightning off in the distance. The lightning just added to the visuals at this point, because it was the cloud-to-ground type and pretty much lit the fucking sky up. It wasn't raining yet but the lightning storm was well underway as Trent started playing La Mer. La Mer was amazing, especially since it was coupled with some amazing lightning displays in the sky. The storm hit pretty hard when they launched into The Big Come Down, and after that the show was stopped. I thought it was over, but it wasn't!

After about a 15 minute halt they walked back onstage, and Trent made a funny comment about the show being stopped. He said "It feels like we were having sex with you guys and we were about to make you cum when the cops busted in the door and we had to stop." Then he said he was ready to get back into it. He also said that he had never had a show stopped because of a storm, and that they were going to play some extra songs for us. I thought I was going to orgasm right there. The storm had let up a little, but not completely. They launched into Dead Souls, but as they were playing the storm re-intensified. It finally started raining and the lightning was once again full force. Then they started playing Down In It (a rarity these days). It was raining hard, the wind was blowing, and I was getting soaked but I didn't care. Everybody was singing "rain rain go away come again another day" with rain blowing sideways over all of us....it was classic and an amazing experience. The band sounded fucking great regardless of the storm, and I was almost in tears at the end because of how beautiful the entire experience was for me. Thank you Trent (and the entire band) for a memorable evening.

I agree. Trent and the band wanted to get the crowd back into it, and Hurt would have killed that effort. I was right behind the 'box seats' in Section 6 and it was packed tight by this time in the show. As they launched into "Down In It" the whole crowd was jumping and singing in unison as the rain and wind blew all around us. The lightning just added to the show visuals. It was fucking amazing! BTW, Jeordie was spectacular last night.

The Charlotte Show was incredible! I have been to many and each time I think I have seen it all, something else great happens. The energy of the band was intense from the beginning. I was in on the barrier in front of Jeordie and he was being much more animated and he was really funny when he was checking out each of the women in front on his side of the stage. All of my friends and I were able to get guitar picks from him.
The rain storm was awesome and when Trent came out he made his comment about having sex with us etc......and he kept on that theme into the other songs. Later when he was saying "I think we can do this..I think this will work.....I think we can make you cum..." OR something to that effect. I think all the women on the front probably did after all that!
The breeze coming through down front during La Mer was a moment of perfection. It reminded me of being on the beach. And the rain during Down In It was timely. When will those lyrics ever be so meaningful again? Let's just hope Trent does not wait another 6 years to come back! It was obvious he was having a blast as well.

I knew we were in for a ride during the intro to La Mer. Lightning and Thunder in the background and that cool wind picking up really set the stage.

This was a great night! T.V. on the Radio were really good. I had only heard a little bit about them before seeing them live, and they rocked it. Bauhaus was also very good. They had a great pressence and sound, but it would have definitely benefitted from performing after the sun had set. Oh well. And, as for NIN, they were incredible. The set lists posted above are accurate, and the talk about the post-storm break intensity between the band and the audience is exactly right. There was a palpable electricity being passed among the storm, the band and the audience, which just added to the overall enjoyment for everyone. "Down In It," was a welcome addition that just sent everyone over the edge. By far, this was the best NIN show I have seen.

I'll keep it brief....

Better than Raleigh (that means something, cuz Raleigh was a great show).

Good to see The Wretched and Reptile again, they were sorely missed. Big Comedown always great (but I couldnt hear Alessandro's keys for it?) Down In It is the SHIT. GDML also, the SHIT.

After they resumed the show from the rain delay, NIN were the best I have ever seen them EVER EVER EVER (got it?). I have seen these guys 11 times dating back to 94 and I have NEVER seen them work the crowd into the frenzy they created last night. Trent promised to make us cum and fuck if he didnt follow thru!!! The storm was brutal, creating an absolute fucking tornado on stage as the smoke was blowing like crazy, the crowd was getting hit with spray from the storm and every single person was going absolutely balistic.

PURE ENERGY. You can see NIN 50 times and not have the near religious experience we witnessed last night, and I speak mainly about the closing 5-6 songs.

If you didn't think last night was about as good as it gets, you dont know shit. =)

I felt exactly the same way during La Mer.

As we were leaving I heard SO many people comment on how this was the best NIN show they had ever seen. While this might not be entirely true (it is subjective opinion after all) I can say that this was the best concert experience I have ever had. The crowd and the band were fucking electrified by that storm.

I couldn't agree more with you on this. I can't even describe in adequate terms how I felt. It was all quite surreal for me, and I was in tears at the end.

AMAZING show! Came from ATL.....stayed at the Hilton and who was there with us...BAUHAUS! Left for the show in a caravan! Had GREAT seats....third section, Row M right on the aisle! Trent and crew kicked ass...Bauhaus was SO good, not that many people danced to them..but I did!! Finally got to see some of TV...they were really good too. I danced my ASS off and so did everyone around us. A BIG thank you to all who sat around us because you all ROCKED! Really great crowd!

I was at both nc shows in the front and I have to say these guys put on an awesome show! TRent just does it for me so much but last night took the cake I literally had to molest myself the whole time to control myself he looks so good and was all prancing around the stage loved it I also hope he is not gonna wait so long to see us again

Wow, you were RIGHT near me, I was directly behind the VIP boxes, literally right against the rail for the sound pit and cameras. Did you notice the guy in the black NIN WT shirt with the long hair, jumping/headbanging whenever it didnt look like he was about to pass out? XD, I couldnt control myself through the kickass opening to SD, and almost blacked out from headbanging so fast/hard, it kind of slowed me down for some of the night but I tried to stay with it.

The show was INCREDIBLE. I didnt know whether to pick the raleigh show or the charlotte show for my first NIN concert, and I'm so incredibly glad I picked this show. The timing, the storm, the setlist, it was all PERFECT. NIN live is truly a spectacle, I knew I was in for a treat, but there's something about being there, with the amazing sound quality, energy, and musicianship and lighting that just blew me completely away. Religiously powerful.

I'm still getting a buzz talking about it now, sitting in my new tour shirt, grinning my ass off.

Great show. They started strong with Somewhat Damaged and intensified as it went on. I was at the very front of the lawn, and was moved into a fairly good seat for the last little bit. We were drenched from the rain, still pretty wet when we got home an hour later.

I saw NIN in Greenville, SC, last month, and while I had a better position -- right in front of the stage, the floor was all general admission -- the way they pulled off those tunes after the break makes me think this was the better show. I don't think the crowd was into it enough until after the break.

Did anyone record? I thought I saw a couple of camcorder lights....

Oh, and am I the only person suprised as hell to here Get Down Make Love? I thought they stopped playing that years ago...

Just got back in town. Of the three shows I've seen this weekend, Charlotte had it hands down. Hell the show's last thirty minutes was the best I've ever witnessed--outside of Self Destruct. After the break, Trent made another exploding drummer remark along with how this was the first time this has ever happened. Everyone pretty much explained everything, but I got to bring it up again. The light show out on the lawn with the rain hitting us in the pit and then blowing across stage during DII was classic. Everyone was so hyped, even after the show when the rain picked up again, we singing DII.

this may have been the last with_teeth show for me and oh what a way to end. long-ass tour journal follows...

the nin fans i met were lovely as always. hope to see some of you again on the next tour, whatever and whenever it may be.

the band line up is by far my favorite. don't get me wrong, there hasn't been an opening band yet i haven't enjoyed, but this combo was tops. TV on the Radio has a great sound and energy. Bauhaus is bauhaus. peter murphy knows how to work it and i think trent's been taking notes.

cage down, lights off, enter nin live. the show was off to a nice start, but by no means was it an exceptional performance. trent had lots of eye contact with fans but not much conversation. i seem to remember an offhand comment about how it was a hot summer night.

good set list but no surprises. that was until The Big Comedown. i don't remember how far they were into it, but suddenly Trent starts talking. something about God speaking to him and it seemed like a strange time to be chatting with the audience. mind you i was on the rail and completely oblivious to the strong storms gathering. maybe the rest of the crowd knew what was coming when trent said he was told they had to stop the show. lights came on. some guy in charge of who knows what came on stage and tried in vain to talk to the crowd. once the microphone feedback issues were taken care of he laid it down for us. there were thunderstorms and lighting rolling through the area.

so at this point i'm sure most everyone there thought we were fucked. a sorry, show over, go home. but no! all that needed to be done was to evacuate the lawn people so they didn't get crispy fried by a bolt of lightening. go back to their cars or under shelter and they show would restart in 15 minutes or so. totally fucking weird. while all this was going on, the stage was fully lit, the band was off to the left in the back (probably wondering wtf) and everything seemed very surreal.

while we were waiting we were treated to a lovely light show in the sky. i chatted with the security up front and he mentioned an 11:00 curfew to deter bands who play endlessly into the night. a city or county ordinance for the sake of people living nearby. $1000 / per minute past 11. so we're starting to get nervous...if they come back on at all, will it just be for two songs?

once the danger had passed the crew had to run through setting up the stage all over again. instruments/mikes tested. the screens in back featured the color bar test screens. lots of running around in general and restless fans. many up front just wanted an old school performance- fuck the visuals and just come back.

once the stormy intermission was over, trent walked back onstage. lights still on, he says:

"We've had drummers blow up. We've had a variety of shit but this is the first time. So now we're supposed to pretend that we're still in the middle of the set and everything's just ... see, it feels like we were having sex with you guys and we were about to make you cum when the cops busted in the door and we had to stop. Now we have to try to get back in the spirit of things. So fuck it, were gonna try and play some extra songs anyway.... get you back in the mood."

straight into dead souls! then reptile!! then GDML!!! then down in it!!!! all before the obligatory THTF and HLAH. at some point trent even exclaimed that he though they could make us cum. nin screwed the crowd and it was good.

seriously, the intensity of those last six songs was amazing. the band rocked it. the crowd from my perspective went wild. it was like being in a cliche music video with all the effects. intense band energy, band members fucking with each other, great special effects; the rain/mist in the air was amazing. the wind artfully blew aaron's hair as good as the best wind machine. singing rain rain go away during a downpour was unreal timing. and i could have sworn i saw trent stick his tongue out, rock star style, a couple times. there was a buzz in the air and we were all feeding off it.

tr and co. more than made up for what could have been a disastrous end to a show. big thanks to them for rising to the challenge instead of giving up on the show. this one goes down in history.

I'll have to agree with everyone's comments about the show. Absolutely the best show I've EVER been to. I left the ampitheater in a daze.

I think Trent really did make everyone at that show wet...inside and out!

Can't wait to see them again, but don't know if we'll ever be able to top this show. Absolute magic!

God, reading these posts...I am totally reliving that night! I have only been to the ATL show (last show was the Fragile tour). But I agree....I think Charlotte was AMAZING. The ATL show was a tight GREAT show....but the energy was so much more explosive at this show. It makes me want to buy a plane ticket to go see them up North! Thank you all for the recounts! I guess I was dancing like a maniac that I missed alot of what the band was doing! But I agree, the songs after the "break" were incredible! And the mist of the rain...unforgettable!

I can't say anything that hasn't been said already about this show. Hands down it kicked fucking ass. Being a bit further back in the theatre I got to not only see the band performing, but the lightning striking down everywhere (and I do mean everywhere). Intense is too light a word for it. The only thing that could've made it better would have been hearing 'just like you imagined', but I'm not complaining either way.

It was raining, but it wasn't lightning. We saw them working on the dude - we thought he had slipped on the steps or something, turns out the hand rail was electrified and he grabbed it and completed the circuit.
Secondly - is everyone in on the torrent currently running on Sharingthegroove.org. There are two versions 16 and 24 bit. Forgive me if this isn't the right thread, but it seems appropriate.

Hey...it's uranian from Dimeadozen, thanks again for seeding the MM show for me. I'm glad you were able to share in this amazing pinnacle of NIN in Charlotte. And, I do think that the Chili Peppers show had a lot to do with the show being stopped. I was in Section 6 right behind the box seats and could easily see the lightning was pretty bad at times. But, it added to the whole show experience and I'm still fucking amazed at how great this show was.

Man this show was awesome. Third time seeing them with my last time being at verizon in 2000 with apc opening. This show defnetly kicked that shows ass by a long shot. I dont know how to describe it.

I know this is late and will probably be repetitive since much has been said already, but anyone who was there will most likely want to read about it over and fucking over.

I had gone to Raleigh the day before. I thought it was one of the best shows ever for me since I had a perfect view right in front of Trent, and the pit was nice and small so we were squished without fearing for our lives. Plus we had gotten Down In It.

I started out my day waking up next to Dunebug, since he had crashed in my room after Raliegh. It could only get better from there. :p I showered while he went to buy more tickets for some other show (not NIN). We ate brunch when he got back and then finally got on the road as a caravan of 2. Went straight to the venue cuz I wanted to be there by 3:30 in case of a soundcheck, but there wasn't one. DID NOT REALIZE HOW FUCKING HOT IT WAS GOING TO BE. I'm from Florida and I could barely stand it. I ended up sitting under a tree with my shoes and socks off until they let the Spiralers in. Finally got in and saw the SMALLEST PIT EVER. Seriously, I thought the one the night before was small. This was maybe 25% the size of that one. A hundred people in there - maybe? Did anyone ask how many it held?

The center area was already full, so I found some short people on Jeordie's side and stood behind them, second person back. It was a gang of four who had been there since 10AM and sat in the sun all day. They really looked like they were going to pass out before any bands even played.

TVotR walked out, and the drummer handed some sandwiches to the girls who were front and center. That was cute. Great set, as usual. I kept making eye contact the the drummer during the set, but it was freaking me out so I kept looking away. I also felt bad that I didn't know the words to any song but Staring at the Sun. So I hope it didn't look like I wasn't enjoying the set because I totally was.

I was in awe of Bauhaus again. Simply amazing. Daniel spent lots of time on my side of the stage, thankfully, since I had wanted to be on the other side near him but wouldn't have been able to see over the tall people. Peter was funny saying "Silly" over and over again and explaining the accent and the different ways to say it. Or was that last night? I think it was tonight. I could go on and on about them, but this is a NIN message board so I won't.

Let me try to explain the wait between Bauhaus and NIN. Take a humidifier - and get inside of it. Then fence off a pit area and tell people Trent Reznor will be joing them soon and see them all squish together. Except that's the thing. It was so fucking hot that no one was touching each other on my side. Sweat was just dripping off my arms as I just stood there. Even during the show, we gave each other space cuz it was just too hot to touch, even to be near NIN. When they'd slow it down a bit, you could feel cooler air circulate over us. Then our body heat would make it 30 degrees hotter as we jumped up and down again. The crowd was definitely more mellow than the night before, so I was kind of disappointed. But not for long!

At one point, either before The Frail or La Mer, Trent said "Sorry, I forgot what song we're playing next. Hold on just a minute." and had to take his guitar off and get to the piano. Then after The Big Comedown he said the little voice inside his head told him they needed to pause the show due to lightning. Being in the front, I didn't even know this was happening. The tech announced the lawn people should seek shelter, that the show would continue, but the show would end at 11. We were asking each other if we misunderstood, but we all heard the same thing. At this point it was 10:30.

The band was lingering back and side stage. The TVotR guys were hanging out, as was Dan Ash. It was pretty surreal just seeing everyone chill out and wait. Finally at 10:50 the tech came out and said there was a break in the lightning (which was bullshit - I think everyone including the band was just pissed off so they started anyway). Trent came out and said something like "So we're just supposed to pick up right where we left off?" And you could tell his mood had changed and he had to find a way to get back into that place. Then his comment about it being like they were having sex with us, to which the crowd went crazy and was practically screaming "Fuck us, Trent!" Then he said the show is supposed to end at 11, but "Fuck it, we're playing extra songs anyway".

Then Dead Souls started. What a way to get back into it. I'm pretty sure this is the first time I heard that one live too, so bonus for me. Then thank God - Reptile! I was praying I'd hear this one last time since this was my last show of this tour. I kept expecting to hear HLAH next, but to my fucking delight, GDML started! I turned around a few times during these songs and saw that the lightning was 10 times worse than it was before they stopped. At one point I saw 2 huge bolts mirroring each other behind the center of the lawn area. Then - holy fuck. Down In It again! There was a lot of strobe light activity for this song, and every time the lights would flash, it was like the lightning would answer them. It was totally incredible. Then suddenly I feel a cool mist blowing over us and even up onto the stage and I realize it must be fucking pouring and really windy for that to be happening. And what are the next words to the song? Rain rain go way, come again some other day. The crowd screamed these words at the top of their lungs! Even Jeordie was jumping up and down center stage banging his head like I've never seen him before. Nothing could have been scripted this perfectly. And we just kept getting more songs! I have to wonder if the venue was trying to tell them to stop but he just kept fucking going because the energy of the crowd and the band kept feeding off each other and no one wanted to stop. THTF was next, and then finally HLAH.

The best fucking 30 minutes of any fucking show fucking ever.

1700 miles of driving for 2 shows. Totally fucking worth it.

You have no idea how many times I've looked at a map and then looked at my calendar to see if there is any way to squeeze in another show (or 2 or 3). I just can't swing it, but I think about it all day every day!

Nothing can top this show, so I'm not as upset as I normally would be about not knowing when I'm going to see them again.

OK - I'm listening to the boot and I'm up to Into the Voidand it's actually better than I remember. The quality on the boot is really fucking stellar. Here's to the guy from Virginia Beach and the hot chick from Australia who jammed us 5 soaking wet mother-fuckers in thiercab when he finally arrived. Thanks to the cabbie who took a fchance on a bunch of whites in the dark, in the south. Fuck bin laden! I swear it was him driving us to the show...STAY AWAY FROM DIAMOND CAB WHEN IN CHARLOTTE!!! I can't stress this enough. He totally dissed our bitches.....JK! But he did have an obvious problem with our lady companions...plus he screwed us on the ride. The show was absolutely the best show of my life. I don't believe it can ever be topped. Everyone has already said everything. It was basically a religious experience, and during the last six songs I didn't even feel like I had a body. Where can I get a bootleg of this show?

Although I can load in the AATHCB DVD and re-live that experience, nothing can beat the combination of theatrics from the band and Mother Nature at this show. It's the 4th NIN show for me on the current tour (Hammerstein (NY, NY) in May 2005, Greenville a couple of months ago, and Raleigh the night before) and I'm listening to the recording right now. Thank you for whoever posted the torrent. By far, the best band in history, and Trent is a genius. I was in a box near the sound board, and we were all getting wet - watching the crew try to scramble and cover the board. Thanks for "Fucking With Us," Trent and Co..

Delete the bad files and reopen your window and it will download what you deleted. Hopefully that will fix it. I only listened to a few tracks and it sounds ok to me...there is some wind noise during the last few seconds of down in it..but thats the only thing ive noticed.

i was going to try to make it to the Charlotte show and after reading the reviews am kinda pissed that i didn't make it.

The torrent is no longer available on Dime. It seems the taper is very elitist about where and who he shares with, and yes there was a shitstorm going on so I had the mods kill it. I tried to spread the show to another tracker to help spread the show around and was met with criticism and unjustified anger, was accused of making racist comments and all kinds of shit. It just wasn't worth it so I had it done away with. Trader den is the only place it's currently running, although at a trickle of the rate Dime was getting it out, so if you want it have patience. It'll take a day not the couple of hours it was taking on Dime.
As a big NIN fan my first reaction was "Fuck You" and quite honestly still is. But I didn't want Dime to suffer any adverse effects from the crap that was happening in that thread.

That makes the first NIN concert I have ever attended and it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Because of my own stupidity in buying tickets, I was seated in the back up to the storm break, but that didn’t change a whole lot. Everyone seemed to be feeling it that night. Help Me I’m In Hell’s lighting effects was so fucking awesome and surreal. I thought I was going to go insane. I jumped, thrashed, and sung along so hard that I nearly passed out. Then the storm started brewing around La Mer….all I can say is wow. The atmosphere combined with that haunting piano!

Ok, ok I am getting ahead of myself. I got there an hour early psyched as hell it being my first NIN concert and NIN being the only band I am really “in to.” It felt like it was at least 100 degrees so to try to pass the time I looked at the extraordinarily expensive merchandise…and bought a 30 dollar t-shirt, and a sticker. I figured, what the hell, since I had traveled all the way from West Virginia I might as well buy a t-shirt. TV On The Radio eventually started up. I think they have talent, but I just didn’t get into them at all. I don’t believe I was alone either, because no one was really doing anything other than slowly burning to a crisp in the sun.

The Buahaus gained a new fan that night. That was actually the first time I had ever heard them. It was still pretty hot when they went on, but more and more the crowd, including myself, started getting more and more worked up.

Then there was the long wait for NIN that seemed to drag on forever until finally….

After the storm break I managed to work my way down closer to the front of the stage, and actually got pretty close. The last four or five songs were just….Jesus H. Christ, you would just have to have been there to really understand it. Down In It was the perfect song for the moment and Head Like A Hole was when Trent really made the crowd “cum.”. I hope and pray that I will get to see NIN again in the near future. I was sore and tired for days afterward.

All I can say is this was one of the best fucking shows ever.

Having just returned back to ETS due to my computer's dance with death, I felt the need to leave my mark here about this incredible show. Everything I would have said the night of the show has already been said (The rain during Down in It, the crowd fucking EXPLODING during HLAH, and Dead Souls). Nonetheless, I left that show feeling like I had just experienced the greatest spectacle in my entire life.

It wasn't just the amazing set that trumped the Greenville show either, it was the atmosphere. The rain and the lightning, mixed with the insane crowd, made the show feel like a powderkeg ready to go up at any second. The one thing that did have me frightened, however, was when Trent made the announcement to stop the show for a little bit, for a couple reasons. First, I thought that they would postpone it to a later date (Something not too foreign with NIN) or just stop all together. What scared me is that, if they did the latter, we would have a fucking riot on our hands ala GNR/Metallica in Montreal 92.

However, Trent made sure we were taken care of, and he proceeded to rock the hell out of everyone. And to tylersays, you're a dick-hole.

Charlotte was fantastic just wish Peaches would have been there! Many thanks to George Wang. Great sound. He really should get paid for the work he did! Shit I would have paid money for souvenir like that good recording i now have. Thanks again.

was the intro not AWESOME? so creepy and powerful, the way the house lights were still on and with so little backing music. Sent chills up my spine--then the instruments slammed in, and the rest is a headbanged blur. heh. I just got to where I can move my neck without pain, I messed myself up going so wild.

I feel kind of bad about it all because I think I'm the one that initially asked you to up the show on Dime. I'm relatively new to trading, and I really had no idea asking for such would set off such a firestorm. You gave the taper full credit on Dime.

I can respect the taper's wishes however I'm a little confused because I thought that sharing was an intregal part of the trading community. I know that taping a show is hard because the one show that I have taped was quite lacking quality-wise. However, I freely shared that show and I have also freely upped many of the bootlegs (including silver CD bootlegs) that I have. And, shame on me for wanting the opportunity to relive what turned out to be the best concert I've ever experienced.

Yes, the taper did a great job and I'm very grateful he decided to share. However, he doesn't own the music. And, from the way I understood the "trading community" once a show was shared it is open to be shared by all (in lossless format) since the taper doesn't own the music. I suppose I'm wrong about this.

DON'T FEEL BAD AT ALL!!! It's not your fault - I wanted to help you and others get the show - it's still a great tape even if the taper is an asshole. And if you were there - like we were - it's a MUST have.
I still stand by my statement that I DID NOT make racist comments. I'm sorry, but several of my Asian friends have told me they used to live in shitholes way worse than the shithole we live in now. And in no way did I make a comment about Muslims or Middle Easterners - I stated I thought my cab driver was a terrorist and had real problems with me and my party and screwed us on the fare. I didn't say Middle Easterners were terrorist - that would be racist. I said I thought my cab driver was. Not the same thing. I got my change back - mainly because he screwed us on the fare, but also because I'm a North American who was, in case you forgot, was recently attacked by religous extremist and I will not help support, what in my opinion, is someone who could possibly be involved with that type of activity. Even if I do disagree with our present course on that front. There were four others in the cab and I'm sure they'd love to drop by and give their account of what we all considered the worst, most tense cab ride to a show ever. Hell we saw Jane's Addiction in Raleigh less than a month after 9/11 and had one of the best rides ever to a show. And a Muslim was our driver. We had a kind-of a moment if I remember correctly(I was on some kind of tranq at that time...those were the days. And not by prescription!). It was Oct. 13 2001 and everybody was still pretty focused on the whole mess. Anyone who you could ask about me will tell you that I (tyler) am the most UN-racist person you're ever likely to meet. So please don't pretend to know of the interaction that led to those comments. Call 'em like I see 'em.
Just like I - Tyler - personally think the taper was a dick about the whole thing. I believe that when this type of content is released to the internet it's fair game. There are several traders that remaster tapes and re-release them and I've seen them take shit for it. I can see both sides of THAT coin, but simply re-posting to another site causing such an uproar? Obviously if I had sent an e-mail asking permission, and why would I?, it would have been met with a resounding 'NO", given the tapers response. So then what? Many wouln't have the show.
I've washed my hands of the whole affair and am just gonna enjoy the recording for what it is at this point. I can't believe I even posted this, but I thought I owed it to Uranian. I got into after party HOLY shit ....THE tour book that I had purchased earlier got messed up from the weather.....SO went back into venue to see if I could exchange it.....AND unfortunately wazzz NOT able 2 but timing is everything...JUST as I wazzzz gonna start 2 walk back w/not hardly anyone around...Saw the area where couple peeps where headed AND I followed in towwwwwwww.......... Ended in some little room w/several other fans, I had the wonderful opportunity to chat w/Kyp from TV on the Radio, for a bit and grab a Becks that he pointed 2 Got to tell Daniel Ash that LOVE and Rockets rulzzzz and of course Bauhaus..THE eyeliner was worn ha ha......AND at least shake and say hello to Trent.....Tried to get a sig at that moment since i had my beat up book, HE actually was going for it and then DENIED......... some crew dude said Trent waszznt signing anyting just relaxin, and other folks would be askin if he did sign ,,,SO denied,,,,,
..... A girl named Kathy (who i borrowed a pen from) said that Trent didn't ever typically stay OR even show up for long.......SHE was right.......

I got into after party HOLY shit ....THE tour book that I had purchased earlier got messed up from the weather.....SO went back into venue to see if I could exchange it.....AND unfortunately wazzz NOT able 2 but timing is everything...JUST as I wazzzz gonna start 2 walk back w/not hardly anyone around...Saw the area where couple peeps where headed AND I followed in towwwwwwww.......... Ended in some little room w/several other fans, I had the wonderful opportunity to chat w/Kyp from TV on the Radio, for a bit and grab a Becks that he pointed 2 Got to tell Daniel Ash that LOVE and Rockets rulzzzz and of course Bauhaus..THE eyeliner was worn ha ha......AND at least shake and say hello to Trent.....Tried to get a sig at that moment since i had my beat up book, HE actually was going for it and then DENIED......... some crew dude said Trent waszznt signing anyting just relaxin, and other folks would be askin if he did sign ,,,SO denied,,,,,
..... A girl named Kathy (who i borrowed a pen from) said that Trent didn't ever typically stay OR even show up for long.......SHE was right.......
BUT by far on the coolest experiences.......

SO gotta get my fix ........and hang w/some more NIN fans.......

Nah, he's obviously just REALLY into coffie. Yeah, it was a GREAT fucking show. I was there at the after party too, and I have to say that Daniel Ash is one of the funniest fuckers around. And were you the blond guy? You were probably the only person even able to speak to Trent because his security goon wouldn't let anyone near him. Kyp kept telling me to go introduce myself to Trent, but that security dude was about scary as shit! But no one was really bothering him, so I wondered why all the fuss? But honestly, Trent looked really nervous to be there. And it's not like the crowd wasn't looking at him like, "you're Trent Reznor, do something magic for us!" And the TVOR guys were really cool.

AND NO not me w/blonde hair............. I wazz the one w/ the Whistler/Blackomb hat on backwards with a black shirt and army green shorts......!! HAVE to 100% totally agree Kyp wazzz SO chill made ....it seem nice and relaxed ...AGREED TVONtheRadio peeps very cool....I had A chance to tell Kyp his voice wazz amaing (HE can get up there)-----He was a gracious cat ....... SO Daniel ASH --ha ha --- CAN u belive he had his own BOOM BOX .......2 freakin hilarious...and he was easy to chat with........

AS for as I can tell U may just be right about being the ONLY 1 to meet Trent........AS I had mentioned after did briefly introduce myself .....THE security dude or whoever wazzzzz abrupt...for sure.....AND I kinda felt like Trent just kinda showed up to be seen........

So THAT was you! Of the two chicks dancing with Dave from TVOR and Daniel, I was the brown haired chick who WASN'T outrageously drunk. Actually, Kyp handed me a drink, I took two sips and realized that the stuff would kill me, so I put it down again. They had good orange juice though. And Daniel's toons were what made the party. Otherwise it would have just been a bunch of nervous people sitting around trying to look cool (and not nervous) in case Trent Reznor showed up. And he did, so they all looked more nervous and even more like they were trying to look cool. I think I gave-up on trying to look cool when I hit 30! And you were the only person who got to say hi to Trent, but I don't think you were pushy at all. And I agree about his being there, I honestly think they paraded the dude out there just so we could all say
*with gritted-teeth, upper-Hampton's accent*, I was at a party with Trent Reznor!" *sniff* *sniff* And then when his security goon (and I mean 'goon') yelled, "everybody back, give him some air!" like he was David Hasselhoff saving a drowning victim (when nobody was really close to Trent anyway), I swear to God that poor Trent cringed like that was the most humiliating thing ever. Whatever mojo Trent had left over from the show was definitley killed-off by that dork of a security guard! Poor dude! I knew I couldn't feel any more stupid than Trent did at that moment, so I decided to make an ass out of myself some more by dancing with TVOR and Daniel - and the really drunk chick. Why not have a good time with it?

And I'm done for this tour. Boohooo. And I think I've been to, like, six after parties on this tour - this leg I was at Charlotte, Va. Beach, and the DC after parties, and The Charlotte one was the only one that Trent was ever at. But a friend of mine was at the Raleigh after party and said he showed up for like three minutes and it was the same thing. They wouldn't let anyone really talk with him. I did talk with Josh at all three after parties, and he was really nice.

Had a friend with me at the Va. Beach after show who works for the Library of Congress (LOC) cataloguing music. She's actually the reason why now when the government catalogues a duel disk, they use With Teeth as the example to follow......that's actually written in a LAW now that they use With teeth! Haha! She says they call the LOC the "blue building," and she really wanted to get the guys to sign this peice of paper she had - along with adding any anti-government remarks they had - so she could frame it and hang it in the LOC. She was kind of shy to ask, and since I met the TVOR guys and Josh the night before (and because I have no shame) I asked the TVOR dudes, Josh, Aaron, and Jeordie sign it for her. They were all really cool about it, and Dave wrote this long-ass "you don't represent me" thing on it. Very sweet. Good times.
