It was such an awesome show. I was a bit worried that our seats were going to suck, but we were right on the isle and it was a great view. They sounded awesome and it was great to watch them run around on stage. Trent broke his guitar when he hit the mic stand after Terrible Lie. Also, at the end of the show he threw it up in the air. A different one, obviously. During Head Like A Hole Aaron and Jeordie switched guitars.

This band just gets better every time I see them, even though they didn't play Dead Souls, Eraser, or Sin.

That metal cage thing is fucking awesome too. It was down before the band came on but then it went up after like three songs and I was like wtf? During Closer though, part of it came down and it was fucking sweet.

Perfect setlist. They probably could have squeezed Get Down Make Love or Starfuckers somewhere in there, but I *finally* got SICNH at a show, so that made the whole show for me. Easily the best W_T era show I've been at.

Took almost an hour to get out of the damn lot afterwards. One of the many reasons I HATE this venue. Also, like most shows at this venue, because of the rich snob season ticket bitches, most of the real fans for any band that plays here get crap seats. I was lucky enough to be in Row A against the stage on the left side and could definitely tell most people up front were NOT fans and only stopped talking when one of the popular radio songs started to be played. A little disheartening, but not at all surprising. The Spiral didn't have a great selection of seats, but I think that kept some action going in the back seats.

Peaches was... Peaches. Raunchy as expected. She and her band stood in the 3rd row pit afterwards to watch just about all of Bauhaus' set, so that was pretty cool. The guitarist from Bauhaus also came out midway through NIN's set to watch them play, and I'm pretty sure Peter Murphy's brother was also there tonight.

GREAT show, but shit choice for a venue. Always hated Pine Knob, always will.

I started heading out during Head Like A Hole.

I hate to do that expecially for NIN, but I was not in the mood to stay an hour after the show to get out of the place.

Wow, awesome show, was a pleasant suprise compaired to the last two michigan shows, bad choice for a venue, but amazing show, i had to check these forums to see which song he played after help me i am in hell, never heard of non-entity, but playing Down in it and Something i can never have, sure took the cake, best show i've seen to date.

Awesome show. Best I've ever seen. The energy was insane, and the visuals were great. Set list had all of the songs I was hoping for (Big Come Down, Down In It, etc), but it would've been nice to hear Reptile or Get Down, Make Love. Still a great set, though. Peaches and Bauhaus were a lot better than I was expecting, too. Bauhaus' bassist was fucking awesome.

I am still collecting my thoughts. Nothing to brag about, nothing too shabby. Just what I expected....
The show was not loud enough...no bass.
I think they switched guitars multiple times, but it could be all those jazzy psychadelic drugs I was on.
How did you come out berlamont? Anything I can help ya share?

I agree - mix of sound was off. I was right side pavillion, and it seemed like Jeordie was lost in the mix at times. It also sounded like several out of tune notes being hit during Hurt as the chords seemed a bit tinny and wrong.

I had to laugh at Trent's comments after wish - and it appears that its warranted. I know corporate seats fill most of the center pavillion's 26-40 rows.... but it did appear most of them were standing for mine.

The 'dance party usa' tour theme was certainly prevalent!

Anyone else love the family outing siting? Lots of mom/dad/kids out tonight! A nice evening of family bonding over nin....

All in all, great set - but I personally thought non-entitiy was trash and should never be played again.

Each version of the tour, Trent continues to amaze me in how he improves the show from a produciton stand point as well as the setlist. The energy of the show was incredible. This version of the band I think is the best it has been. Josh Freese is incredible, the best drummer I have ever heard live. Aaron North... well I think we all know he is rediculously amazing, and Jeordie White is spot on, and the best guy for the position. Alessandro is flawless, also the best buy for that position also. All in all they are all very tallented and add a something good to the show. Every night Trent goes out there and puts on the best possible show with such intensity, he never dissapoints.

As for the people saying the sound was poor, well, I was close to the sound board in the center and the sound was perfect and very loud. I am sure the sound got worse with distance and on the far corners, but where they were taking the samplings in the center, it sounded pretty, pretty, pretty good. My ears are still ringing.

Also, I did enjoy hearing more Fragile era songs on this leg, and I thought Non-Entity sounded awesome with the full band. We didn't get Get Down Make Love, but I guess we can't have it all.

The setlist was amazing. I can't believe I heard Down In It.
Of the three times I've seen NIN, this was the best list. But one thing I would say is that most of the time, things sounded muddled to me. I couldn't tell what Trent was saying at all!
And I just hate ticketmaster - "best available" right when they went on sale put me in the far right, almost at the back. Arg.
Just for a split second at the beginning of The Hand That Feeds I thought we were getting Metal. I was kind of disappointed when it wasn't.

Anyway - hopefully someone will have this show to share soon.

You'll be pleased to know that several "real fans" were down in the first center-stage rows. We figured out a way to get down there and stayed the whole night. But yeah, lots of stupid cunts with corporate and season tickets in the surrounding seats.

I pretty much knew what we were getting into for a setlist because I'd been checking TAOSD religiously, and desperately hoping he'd still be playing Down In It. I was thrilled to get that. Could have done without Even Deeper, wish we'd gotten something I hadn't heard yet like Get Down, or Dead Souls.

Berlamont, how'd you turn out? Were you there? Can't wait to get a copy of the boot if you got one. I used my girlfriend's Canon SD450 to get a few pics and a complete Down In It from our row Z Right Center seats, but I need to shrink it down from 350MB Avi if I'm ever going to post it.

I thought the sound was crisp and the guys seemed tighter than ever. I've seen them about every 4 months now since Oct 05. (also February's tragedy at the Deltaplex, and this show.) He was off during Hurt on a few chords, but he was probably praying no one was gonna throw shit at him this time. Overall good show.

I was on the far left hand side of the stage in Row P, seats 34, but we squeezed closer to the center in our row for a better view. The left side of the venue was dead. The energy wasn't really there, and there was a large number of seats unoccupied in this area.
I like the feel of Pine Knob. Out-doorsy kind of naturish almost. I liked the car's with water flowing through them and etc. It was entertainment....
But the venue itself needs a General Admission.
We were in the parking lot in the way back, and it was hell getting out. But any direction looked like it was hell.

Yeah, I like the whole atmosphere of the venue, the trees, cars with water, etc. but we paid an additional "traffic control fee" on each ticket, and it still took an hour to get out of there. The lot and entrance/exits are very poorly designed. We parked in the way back too (on the grass) and it was hell getting out. I agree that the left side was dead (maybe because Jeordie's a statue, and Aaron's insane. (Nothing against Jeordie White, I love him, but he needs to display more energy.) I guess he did take his coat off, and played in short sleeves for the first time I can remember... Hey, it's a start...

Well if we didn't pay $3.00 per ticket for parking, we would of paid $5 per vehicle to park anyways (or more).
The left side was dead...
Tons of open seats, security guards checking peoples tickets to make sure they are supposed to be there. The sound from the left side was loud, but the bass was not there. Hearing "Burn", and "Even Deeper" in a real venue has lots of bass.
It is a nice venue scenery wise...
I can only imagine how cool the Red Rocks Ampitheatre really is...

One thing...in the winter time....I wonder what venues like the DTE do other then collect snow...

First off, Bauhaus kicked my ass! I knew some of their material prior to the show and I thought it was alright, but when I saw them live I gained a whole new respect and admiration for them. Peter Murphy is an awesome frontman, his theatrics are something out of the Bowie/Eno/Iggy days, cool shit. The bass player is un-fucking real. U2's bassist wishes he could be as the bass player from Bauhaus, on the other hand U2 wishes it was Bauhaus, the whole U2/The Clash debate is meaningless.

nine_inch_nails once again didn't let me down. The setlist had all the emotional ups and downs you want, from the opener of "Somewhat Damaged" and other high points of "Wish," "The Big Comedown" and the highest point of "Down In it" to the mellow introspective "Something I Can Never Have" and "Hurt." The lighting and stage presence was spectacular, the whole 3-Demensional effect of the back of the stage screens and the cage was really cool, especially during "Non-Entity" and "Even Deeper." In whole, the show was awesome and never let up.

On a more negative note, the venue sucks! I hate it!! The parking blows! The country club crowd of the lower pavillon blows!! Word to the wise, make it a point never, and I mean never to go to Pine Knob!! It sucks!! To fucking far away.

well first off anyone complaining about the venue is a dumbfuck. it's agreat venue, yeah it's way the fuck out there but it's agreat place to see a show. secondly who the fuck cares if the crowd is or isnt into it, it's all seated, there's no pit, so who cares. i was in center section to the right in the pavillion and everyone around me was really into and having a great time. it wa smy fourth time seeing NIN and this was the best of the 4. the band seemed really energized, and into it the whole time. i also have to say i love how NIN tours their ass off after not touring for years and years, and the fans still have to bitch about this and that. just shut the fuck up and be happy that you've ha dmultiple oppurtunites to see the band lately, if you don't like the venue don't fucking go. sorry the NIN tour dosen't revolve around your space in the state.

I was on the right side, in what could be considered an obstructed view but I won't get into complaining about that. I have a headache and I don't care enough to bitch. Anyway...

There was a little skater dude in front of me, he must have been around 10. It was his first concert. He and his older brother were real sweethearts and really cute. Toward the end of NIN's set, I saw the little guy run over a few seats to our right with something in his hand, waiting, then he came back, all excited. I looked over and realized that Daniel Ash was standing at the end of our aisle, groovin' to NIN music; the little guy got Ash's autograph. The kid thought Bauhaus was great, btw - he's now a big fan.

This was my third Bauhaus show and I have to say - the last few times, I thought they were uninspired, bordering on incredibly boring (except for Ash), but this time I was totally blown away. Peter Murphy was fantastic! I've seen him solo twice and he's never had this much energy and charisma -- and he was really fucking funny!! Which surprised the hell out of me. I've completely changed my mind about him after these NIN radio shows and this show. I used to think he was just a giant pompous ass. Lemme tell ya, that guy's got some MOVES, heh. I was really glad we got Bela on our set list, and She's In Parties.

Peaches was hilarious. The kid liked her, too.

It was great hearing "Even Deeper" again (thanks!), and I'm glad we got "Something I Can Never Have." The new lighting is very cool (even though it was difficult seeing it from my perspective). Josh Freese is an incredible drummer. The crowd was NOT your typical Detroit crowd. They kinda sucked, imho.

Well, Pine Knob is a ski hill, but I don't know if the venue itself does anything in the winter. I'd doubt it.

Have to say it was a great show. Didn't like having to stay in a seat though, but atleast for the chicago show I'll be down in the orch seats/pit. I did manage to record pretty much the entire nin set on my camera again. It's not nearly as shakey and what not like the grand rapids show cause I didn't have people pushing me around. I'll post torrent links after I get it put together.

I would just like to say that this show was a nice change up in a setlist compared to the other two Michigan shows in Grand Rapids and Detroit. Trent Played 8 different songs live that he didn't play at the 2 other Michigan shows.

Very Excited to hear La Mer and Into the Void together instead of (The Frail & The Wretched). Maybe he'll play them when he tours for his next cd that is supposed to come out in a year.

I would also like to thank Berlamont for providing his ability to record the show again. I will definitely download once he finishes and seed for a few weeks.

~ A SMALL TOWN GIRLS STORY, OF SOME HOW GETTING TO BE IN ROW B~

I dont even know where to begin lol...I am still floating from the show last nite at D.T.E...I have been a Huge NIN fan for years and years. Last nite the Impossible came true...We Were Right in the Front...Left Front Row B to be exact. The thing is...I had no Clue! Also was on shrooooms..and Might I mention for the first time in ages lol. I am from a small ass town in southern michigan...I did my best to get the best tickets possible, and so here the story goes,

FInally found great tickets on stubhub..Row J..for like 65 bucks...Not bad eh! Took awhile for my tickets to arrive...I was freaking out abit but stubhub assured me I would receive them tickets or better. OK. Tickets finally arrived....Day of the show arrives...

We drove up,stayed in a near-by hotel..Caught a buzz,ate our shrooms, Cab arrives off to the show we go...Arrive...with a large case of the giggles and like everyone told me, Got very overwhemled by the crowd and all the little people..( As they appeared at that time)-Grabbed a beer focused and went down to check out Bauhaus..( missed peaches) So..as we are heading down...The ticket people..say..keep going...go to the next..keep going..go to the next....Music is so fuking loud...I am tripping ...and She is wanting to take our tickets and Replaces them with Row B tickets and some vip passes....We have no idea..why...I cant hear anything she is saying...But I am assuming-It was planned this way threw stub hub for some reason?.....But hey...w/e works....Get to our row....and We are like smack dab right fukin there.....hollllly shittttttttt!!!!!!!!!!!! Bauhaus totally jammed..But I am not real familair with them and the bass was totally fukin with me....So Got up and chilled for abit by some fountain tryin to get my shit together before nin hit the stage....And then they did....What Can I say? I cried like a fukin baby....thanking the unknown source for these sweeeeeet asss tickets....Usually at a show...We get all fuked up,sing every song,dance like crazy, and miss like half the show because of it. Not this time...Besides the trip, which by this point I reached my happy medium and Once Trent hit the stage...That was alll that mattered...Anyways ..I know this is fukin long....But I just had to stage this whole scene for whoever reads this...if anyone...

Sooooo for all the posts that have said....coroporate got the good seats..or spiral fans...etc...You will be very happpy to know....A small town girl who has loved NIN for over 15 years....Was representing Alll of YOU..all of US...The ones who..want those seats so fukin bad but never dream it possible....I made eye contact ( I think) lol...I laughed,cried,smiled the whole damn time...sang along..clapped when demanded...and Rocked my fukin assss offf. Row B to the left...We all Rocked...Yes many seats behind us were vacant..and some dumb fucks who had row A in front of us...The boys were too worried about recording the show to worry about actually watching and the girl stood with her arms folded looking around the whole time...UGH a waste of space is what they were....But as for us...We totally rocked,droooled,and gave NIN allll the love that we possibly could!

I dont think DTE is a bad place to see a show...If your lucky enough not to drive in the mess. I think being outside in its self is kick ass enough. The place is pretty kewl....But I could see why alot of you would diss it...But I really had the Best nite ever...It is truely on the top of my list of My best life experiences...The others only being..giving birth to my son and daughter.

Ironically...My FIRSt concert ever...Was NIN...Hole..and Manson....At pine knob...Back in like 93-94? I was at the top of the hill...15 yr old girl with her brother and his friends....Wishing I was upclose....14 years later...That wish came true!!!

Rock the fuk on NIN....I have now been to 10 NIN shows and this by far..was the best...Great set list...NIN was RAW.

During even deeper though I had to take a piss and asked the guy next to me to hold the camera, and he acted like he was cool with it, but when I came back I saw the camera down at his side, what a dick. The audio is actually really good, this camera always suprises me when it comes to that.

Other than that, I loved the show. Peaches was kinda meh, but I loved how she left the stage for the last song and was all over the crowd. Bauhaus was really really cool. Did anyone else think it was kinda funny when he was trying to keep that light in his face?

Nine Inch Nails put on an awesome show, as usual. I liked the way the cage thingy was used, but I couldn't get the full effect of it from the side. This was my second show, the first with Josh Freese. I knew he was good, but DAMN! I also want to know what was on his face. At first I thought it was like a shadow of something but then I saw it in better light and I was like "Tape?? WTF?!!"

Hey, could you upload it somewhere I don't need an account? How did you do the other ones in the past? Like I mentioned before, I only ended up getting video of Down in It, because I was using my girlfriend's camera, with a 512 card (Yeah, I had 4 months to go buy a 2GB card and failed...)

I guess now it's only a matter of time before this thread is riddled with stupid people asking for the boot, even though it'll be 8 pages back, and they're just too damn lazy to read.

the pro tools screen shot is nothing. Not that you'd be able to tell what it was any other way than from listening to it, but it's obviously a fade out from something.

That Concert Kicked Major Ass!!!

Peaches was good ... they were "glam" to say the least ... i kept laughing when after about every song she kept saying "i am peaches".

Bauhaus kicked ass. honestly i never heard their music until that show but wow ... they blew me away ... the people that showed up while NIN was in the middle of the first song missed a great opening.

NIN blew me away ... i saw them in detroit like 1/2 a year ago and they were good ... my friend decided to not go to this concert because according to him the other one didn’t have a good enough stage show. he wanted there to be fire ... this is NIN not Metallica. The video screens and the cage kicked so much ass at this venue. i noticed that it was a hell of alot better than the visualizations they had at the detroit show.

The music was tight i like how they breathed new life into the songs that we have all listened to a million times. during the concert i kept thinking "these are the clearest and probably best versions of these songs that i will ever hear" Whoever said the sound wasn't loud enough must have either been deaf or in a really crappy seat cuz from where i was sitting i hear everything crystal clear and LOUD. My ears were ringing for the rest of the night.

i was in the left center seats and apparently was one of the biggest fans there. most of the other people stood around and were talking but i sang every word of every song ... my thought was extremely soar. i was supposed to give a speech for my speech class but couldn’t. i totally forgot about the video screens i just stared at Trent the entire time ... honestly i was so into it that i forgot to keep an eye on the other guys playing music. i was so stoked to hear Non Entity ... not one person around me knew what the f*ck song he was playing but i sang out loud to every word. the only thing i regret is not bringing a lighter for Hurt.

seriously that was one of the best nights of my life.

I was in the right side of the stage right next to the sound booth third row from the stage. This was my second Nine Inch Nails show, and this one was by far the best. I got lots of pictures from my camera. Peter Murphy came over and was posing for me!!! I also caught a glimpse of Atticus Ross in the sound booth!!! I was quite annoyed by the couple who was "tripping" on something in front of me. The girl looked like she could of been his mom! It was quite annoying because they kept getting in the way of my pictures. My ears still hurt two days later. Trent was sexy as ever, and he looked really good. It was a great show!!!

Perfect setlist. They probably could have squeezed Get Down Make Love or Starfuckers somewhere in there, but I *finally* got SICNH at a show, so that made the whole show for me. Easily the best W_T era show I've been at.

Took almost an hour to get out of the damn lot afterwards. One of the many reasons I HATE this venue. Also, like most shows at this venue, because of the rich snob season ticket bitches, most of the real fans for any band that plays here get crap seats. I was lucky enough to be in Row A against the stage on the left side and could definitely tell most people up front were NOT fans and only stopped talking when one of the popular radio songs started to be played. A little disheartening, but not at all surprising. The Spiral didn't have a great selection of seats, but I think that kept some action going in the back seats.

Peaches was... Peaches. Raunchy as expected. She and her band stood in the 3rd row pit afterwards to watch just about all of Bauhaus' set, so that was pretty cool. The guitarist from Bauhaus also came out midway through NIN's set to watch them play, and I'm pretty sure Peter Murphy's brother was also there tonight.

GREAT show, but shit choice for a venue. Always hated Pine Knob, always will.

One couple (girl in tube top, guy in orange polo shirt) that showed up late was talking everytime I looked at them, and the 2 guys next to me had obviously dragged their non-fan girlfriends there.
I think the band should lay off the smoke machines a little- half the time you can hardly see them. But I guess that's their style.
Oh yeah, and also, the visuals during help me I'm in hell are the absolute shit. As in, greatest ever.
Damn, one more thing I forgot, I saw a guy with a large video camera. I really think there's no way it was a bootlegger so I guess they are taping more shows. I haven't read the other threads so maybe you already know this...

All this "non-fan" shit must be uttered by newbs, because people have been talking during concerts since the beginning of fucking time. If I had a nickle for every time I saw people making out during an entire concert, or walk around like it's a fashion show while the main act was playing, or getting more beer 18 times during the show, I'd be as financially flush as Bill Gates. Some people just have Concert A.D.D.

I agree Completely....I guess all People have different Ideas on the Rights and Wrongs-And what Makes a Fan...a "true Fan"...Personally...I couldnt even pull myself away to go take a piss..Let alone Go grab a beer....I would rather be parched and have aching kidneys then Leave In the middle of NIN Performance...

I wondered about the trees...It has been awhile since I had been back to DTE...But From what I had remembered....There were alot more trees and picnic tables than there is now....Then I thought...Well maybe I just remembered it wrong...Glad to see I am not the only one who missed our tree friends....

Did you notice the sky while NIN played...It was like all grey tones...Perfect sky for a NIN show....God that nite kicked assssss

Well, like I said, if they want all that smoke then that's fine with me, I'm just pointing out that you couldn't see them very well.
I didn't mean to insult anyone about the "non-fans". There were plenty of people that were very into it, especially the couple in front of me (a security guard told her to stop taking pics?).
DarkAngel, I was there alone, in jeans and plain black tee(if that helps any). One of the 2 couples next to me left twice during the show, so I don't think it was you.

Here's a video I took of Aaron North jumping into the crowd during Down In It. It really took me by surprise because, well, who jumps into SEATS? He landed half on me. I was in second row right in front of him for most of the concert:

Loved the concert! It was very high energy, and being close is fantastic, which made up for being surrounded by too many snobby season ticket holders in my section, where there should have been more hardcore fans.

During Peaches the front section was too empty so she said "I feel lonely here, come over!" or something like that, and we shuffled down our row until we were standing right in front of her. I hopped the seat in front of me to the front center rail during Bauhaus until the people in those seats finally arrived. It was amazing while it lasted.

During NIN, Daniel Ash squeezed down my row to hang out with Peaches who was one row behind me after her set. I did a double take when he tapped my shoulder to get by and managed to say, "Oh... hi!".

A bunch of us came down from Canada (saw the Toronto concert the day before) for this show. We happened to cross the border at the same time as the tour buses, and they were driving behind us much of the way there until we took a different exit for our hotel.

Getting out of the venue was indeed a bitch. We just hung out for an hour in the parking lot talking until the lot was mostly empty.... there's no point sitting in a car idling in traffic for nothing.

I have much more video of the concert which will be posted on the spiral next week once I combine it with an improved audio bootleg that surfaced.

I dont Remember Aaron Jumping off stage...Didnt drink for the sole purpose to remember Every detail..and I still missed that.

Trent Threw a Tamborine into the Crowd and After the Show, A Kid who was beggin the Crew who was tearing down the set for somthing-anything..Got a drumstick...Man I was jealous of that...I was standing right there-I could have kicked myself for not asking first...He said it was his Birthday though--Which if true..Thats a pretty kick asss Present....But like so many others in todays world...He will prob sell it on Ebay for $$

Another thing I could kick myself on....I didnt even know cameras were allowed Nor did I bother to find out...I just assumed they werent and was allready sneaking enough in ahhaa...

The pictures and footage you have all shared has been awesome...It has been like what, 5 Days since the show and I am still floating...

As I have stated before, I have been a NIN fan for years...New to on here though-What took me so long I dont know..But it is really nice having a Common bond with so many people....The Common bond of NIN.

I have also been thinking about the statement that has been said many times lately..About- Rich,Snob Corporate types attending the show ( season ticket holders)--Seems to me, Season tickets or not...You would have to be some sort of fan of NIN to attend. I mean ..I guess I just dont see the point on going to a show of somthing you are not a fan of, Let alone be bitchy to the ones around you who are Rockin their asses off and having a good time......I just do NOT understand that.

When I was hootin-hollerin and all that good shit...I actually had this girl look back at me with a stfu look on her face...wtf is that? I dont get how you can be in the front row-Doing nothing but giving ditry looks and occasional yawns...Now that is fuckin rude.

All in All..I must say, Although people can irk the shit outta me-There is no place I feel more comfortable than at a NIN show.

There is NO fan like a NIN fan...Rock on!

Bah. Digital cameras weren't allowed this entire summer tour (only disposables) but if you put a small compact camera down your pants you'll get it in. At this venue we were even wanded and patted down and I still got my camera in down my pants. Even when they say cameras are allowed I always assume the worst and sneak it in anyway.

Sometimes the camera policy changes the day of the show even if they day before the venue says cameras are allowed. Always assume the worst

The Canon PowerShot SD series of cameras is fantastic. They're the size of a thick credit card and can be hidden very easily, plus the quality of their photos and video is stellar. It's THE camera to get. I have an older SD400 and love it to death.

Umm...my girlfriend has an SD450, and it's like a 3/4", so I don't know what kind of cards you carry... I snuck it in down my pants too.

Anyway, I don't want to turn this into a mass debate about cameras. I was just gonna say that I agreed about the quality of the Canon SD's. I think that Berlamont's CyberShot is pretty badass too, it's come through for us all more than once, so if you're in the market, either brand would work. Just make sure you're close enough, and don't have to zoom much (it distorts the image, esp. in video.)
