i've seen them play better sets, but we definitely got our money's worth with that set list. could have asked for an encore though....

Non-Entity was definitely great live, but the crowd didn't seem to react, but Down in It definitely rocked the house. I really wanted to hear Not So Pretty Now in person, but oh well. Same with Reptile. It felt like Bauhaus pushed the concert into the curfew (They played for like an hour). The crowd did get going enough for Trent to thank us twice (After Hurt and one of the songs before it). He also told a story about seeing Depeche Mode in Cleaveland. Something along the lines of:

"When I was growning up, the closest place
to see a concert was Cleaveland, and they
had an arena just like this. I saw this one
concert there, Depeche Mode, and I said
that, one day, I was gonna be standing
right there (Points at stage)"

Very impressive show, and I'm definitely disappointed that I couldn't make it to the Charlotte one.

Edit: Accd to the people on The Spiral, they aparently played The Becomming at the sound check. Sucks that I missed it...it seemed like they were saying they weren't going to be doing them.

The show was right on time. Bauhaus played for an hour - 7:45 to 8:45.

Strange start for NIN. Crew out on stage, house lights on, and Trent walks out and starts singing. A few notes in, the lights go out and the band shows up. No warning...

3rd time seeing NIN. Had no desire to ever hear Head Like A Hole agan but the energy from the crowd amazing, Kind of understood why Trent plays it over and over again. Loved the LED screen at this show kept your attention more on the band than the images on the screen.

Thanks for posting the set list. I started to try to write them down but after about March of the Pigs or so I just said "Fuck it, I'll find it here."

I've never seen NIN live and I had been looking forward to this for months and GOD DAMMIT, I was NOT DISAPPOINTED! This is actually my first big show (no one I care to see ever comes through Raleigh) and as NIN is among my top three favorite bands it made for a night I'll never forget.

I was in the pit closer to the right. Trent came over right in front of us at the end of March of the Pigs (which, by the way, is the one time in my life I've ever LIKED getting the living shit beat out of me.)

Best songs of the night were "La Mer/Into The Void" (I was really hoping they'd do at least SOMETHING from The Fragile because I know there's been one or two shows where they didn't) and even more than that "Hurt" and "The Hand That Feeds." I was never really into THTF much untill a few weeks ago, and it was great hearing it live. "Hurt" was played exactly how I like it - on the piano just like how he did at that ReactNow show. Much better than on the guitar. That song is moving enough as is, but played on the piano, even more so, and played on the piano not thirty feet away from me makes me damn near well up. And I swear to God for just a split second Trent looked right at me, at the very least in my direction (he looked to his left) at the end of "Hurt."

And yeah, I liked that he talked to the crowd too. First time he did he said something like "Ahh, what a nice fucking night. You guys having fun out there?" but his quick story about the Depeche Mode story was cool.

I called my girlfriend (who wasn't able to go) and just held the phone up during "Closer" like I promised her; she texted me later and told me she totally flipped her shit at that so NIN just scored me some points.

My one regret from the night was that I didn't get to catch anything. I would have been completely satisfied just with one of the water bottles they chucked out into the crowd, but I was to Trent's left (to the right of the pit) and he kept throwing them mostly straight ahead.

TV On The Radio was great, so was Bauhaus (although I felt bad for TV On The Radio because they really didn't get any crowd action. I looked at my friend, who's in a band, and I was like "Dude, YOU guys get more crowd reaction than them" and he smiles and goes "I know, how cool is that?"

Last night's show was fantastic. The last time I saw NIN live was about 10 years ago, with David Bowie. I've been a fan for a loooong time (I feel so old!) and I was ecstatic that I got to see them live. We sat 5 rows behind the stage on the right, but we were right on the edge of the row, so we were basically in the center. The view was amazing. Here's my breakdown:

Set list: I loved it. I am not a big fan of THTF so I was a little concerned that they would focus on this album - they didn't (and I'd seen the previous shows' set lists so I wasn't THAT concerned) and they played a great variety from all of their albums. The cool thing was, when they did play songs from THTF, they sounded awesome. Somehow they sounded more along the lines of their older stuff - maybe it was because they were live, I dunno. The best part was that, played live, no song lost its integrity. They played a ton of my favorites - Get Down Make Love (YAY), Something I Can Never Have, Burn, Down In It, Wish, Hurt, Terrible Lie, Sin, Somewhat Damaged, etc etc. No complaints here.

Stage/lights: Awesome. I don't know what else to say - everyone else has pretty much summed it up... but wow. And of course they're going to use the same set list for every show if they're going to have a setup like that. I'd take the setup that they had over them playing different songs any day. Absolutely no complaints here.

Performance: So intense and high energy. Something I Can Never Have, La Mer and Hurt were beautiful. Loved how Trent spoke to the crowd a couple of times; and I wish I would have caught the tambourine he threw out or anything else, for that matter.

Audience: A little disappointed here. I only saw a few empty seats, but the section to the left of me seemed so...dead. I don't know, they weren't into it. It's not exactly a complaint though, because I didn't come there to see the crowd The great thing about the crowd was how diverse it was. Older people, younger people, even this kid who had to be like 5; and everyone was just plain different. To me, it says a lot about a band when they have such a diverse following.

Opening bands: I think I liked TV On The Radio? I'm not sure, the sound quality didn't sound good to me. Bauhaus kicked ass.

So, overall, the show kicked ass and I had a blast. Trent Reznor is incredibly talented, and NIN remains one of my few all-time favorite bands. Maybe I can catch the show in Charlotte tonight...

Awesome show!! I was in the pit and was worried at first cause it was like only 50 people in it during Bauhaus set. It finally grew and closed in when the lights went out for Nin. The energy of the pit was amazing. I was in the second row so was able to get great views of Trent and co and still keep the rowdiness of the pit. Jeordie and Aaron was running all over the place. And I cant remember what song was played when Alessandro had jumped on top of his synths and was playing from there. Does anyone remember? Anyhow the highlight for me was GDML, which I havent heard in like forever. On to Charlotte next, and then Virginia Beach. 3 shows in one weekend. Perfect!!

last night's show was amazing (as most everyone has stated). This was my 3rd time seeing NIN, first time was with Bowie in 95. The light show was amazing. It definitely added some visual layers to the music.
The show was made more awesome by the fact that a friend of mine was invited last minute by a friend of his who had box seats. Just so happened that they had 2 no shows so they invited my brother and I to sit with them. Amazing view. Our original tickets were over to the right hand side on the fifth row. Half the view would have been blocked.
Also while we were all sitting on a bench near the grass area one of the staff members walked by with trent's dog taking it for a walk. What a pretty dog. It kept looking at that anoying guy wearing the cardboard boxes (you know the one) like it wanted to eat him.

the highlites for me were SICNH and GDML. i'll have a night to remember for a very long time.

I loved it. I was extremely impressed. I saw NIN in atlanta last year on the small venue tour at the Tabernacle, kept wondering how something like that could be topped.

Nevertheless, I was not disappointed. Not a huge With Teethity fan, but the set was damn good. Could've asked for better, but I'm damn glad I got to hear Help Me I Am In Hell live, to such an amazingly awesome stage effect...I was floored.

The show was good and seeing "Get Down Make Love" again was fabulous. It has always been one of my favorites from back in the day. I liked TV On the Radio. They seem really cool. Bauhaus was good for about 20 min but the theatrics started to get on my nerves after awhile. Just not my cup of tea.
Trent had good energy. I was in front of Aaron and he scowled the entire night. Aaron busted his ass near the end when he slipped on water. That is when he really got mad at his guitar and decided to kill it. Trent never come over to that side of the stage which sucked. If I am at the barrier I feel like I earn an up close and personal with Trent!
Anyways the show was good but after the SPECTACULAR Charlotte show, I think Raleigh seems a little anemic to me in retrospect.
But seeing NIN is always an orgasmic experience regardless.

Dispite having terrible seats...thanks to the Spiral...the event staff was more then helpful when trying to find me a new spot. I ended up sitting in the handycapped seating which was awesome since i was above the front section and had a chair with a nice cushin. Overall it was a pretty good show and not that bad of a drive from Atlanta.

Best show ever. Everything was right on... the music, the lights. Trent and the band had so much energy. I also couldn't believe how many old songs were played... I'll never forget it.

Second 4 hour drive from Virginia to catch a NIN concert (the first being in DC last year) but this was the show that "destroyed" me. Great seats--9 rows back on Aaron North's side with a big video screen at the end of the ailse, the staff at the pavilion were nice, and most of the people seated around us were cool,crazy or a combo of both. Tv on the radio were good, really energetic but I'm not familiar with their music. They did crack on someone in the pit, giving the advice that some person "was going to need a helmet later on". I consider it an honor to have been in the presence of Peter Murphy who truly ruled the stage like "the gothfather" he is. I believe during "Bela" the mike went out for a second and he looked at it like how dare you go out on me. Bauhaus are indeed legends and gave a great performance. NIN killed it. Enjoy a mini mosh (much to the chagrin of the couple beside me) during Wish and MOTP. Closer,TL,Only and THTF were so funky you HAD to dance. Big thank you to a fellow I believe named Jay[?] and his friend who moved behind us to let us have more room in addition to having great sing-a-longs with them! All in all it was well worth getting lost to and from Raleigh and having to go to work the next day! Thank you Mr. Reznor and the rest of Nine Inch Nails.

This was my fourth nine inch nails show on the with teeth tour. The others being atlanta, knoxville, and greenville. I was sitting in sec. 6 and the people around me and my two friends thought we were crazy. They sat the entire show!!!! WTF?!?!?! I have no comment on that. Of all the nin shows I have been to this show had the most diverse crowd. There were old goth vets, youngsters, and people wearing polo. Interesting to say the least.

We waited at the gate after the show to catch trent when he was leaving on the bus. The bus approached us and we saw trent making a sandwich or something in the bus and I just kept on going so me and my friends said fuck it. These other kids started chased the bus all the way down the road and the bus didn't stop. We started walking back to the car and we noticed the bus turn around and slow down. We we're walking in the direction the bus turned and I started to walk a little faster to maybe catch them in a turn. I look in the door and see trent standing there waving his arm at us and saying "COME ON!!!" The bus slowed down as we ran towards it. As soon as we got up to the bus they started to speed up. We chased it for like a half a mile and then we realized that

TRENT REZNOR WAS F*CKING WITH US!!!!

I wasn't mad I thought it was funny. If I was famous I wouldn't want to get out of the bus if all the crazy people were chasing me down the road.


Excellent show. Got to hear some songs that I have never heard live.

Highlights-The new visuals, Help me I'm in hell, Full Band Version of Non-Entity, La Mer, Into the Void and a really old old old old old old down in it. Great set list, great time, and got to see them close to home for a change and didn't have to drive all over the world to see them.

Better late than never review, as usual. I finally got my computer working from home so I can post again! But now this show seems like forever ago so I hope I can even remember everything.

I drove up from Ft. Lauderdale by myself, which I was kind of worried about because this was the first show that I was going to without definite plans to meet anyone. Thankfully made in 12 hours. Slept late the next day and just hung out in my room most of the day. Finally decided to get to the venue for 3:00. When I got there, they had JUST opened the parking lot. The parking attendent guy asked if I was in the fan club and told me not to worry, everyone was just let in, the pit holds 400 people so we'll all get a chance to be in the front. I said I didn't care about that (lie), it's just that we crazy fans line up at 8AM. He laughed and told me I was the most normal person he had seen so far that day.

Just as I pull into my parking spot, I hear someone slap the hood of my car. I look up and it's M0reta who I had met during the October Florida shows! Hooray! Someone I knew! So we got in line just as Brandi came out with tickets. The girl next to me asked where I was from and I said Ft. Lauderdale. She said she was from Tennessee and driven 6.5 hours. She wasn't in The Spiral, but wanted to be close so she and her sort-of boyfriend got there early for the first time ever. So after I got my ticket, we sat under the tent in the shade cuz it was fucking hot. Traded stories with Tennessee people (Bobbi and JR) until it was time to go in. I ended up bringing in one of them as my Spiral guest and M0reta was kind enough to bring in the other. And just before we were going in, Dunebug (who I car pooled with to the FL shows last Oct.) shows up. However, he had a seat and I was in the pit so we didn't see much of each other.

I was surprised at how small the pit was, so even if I decided to stay in the back, it still would have been fine. But I decided to do the front anyway, and be near Bobbi and JR. Had to pee in between acts and a very nice girl named Renee held my spot for me. So the people I was around were cool. The energy of the crowd where I stood was great. I would have liked it a little rougher (a little more shoving maybe) but we were nice and squished and sweaty, but we weren't jumping much and kind of watching out for each other. The tall guy next to me even tried to stay out of my way, which was very nice.

Onto the show! TVotR was kind of doing a bonus soundcheck right before the show so we were just hanging out watching them which was really cool. Their set was great, except for no Staring at the Sun. At one point the lead singer said something like "There's a really special treat coming up for you as soon as we leave the stage." Everyone just kind of went "Aaaaawwwww!" to let them know we thought they were special too. He started laughing and said "Why did you say that? You don't understand. You should all go out now and buy yourself helmets!" or something to that affect.

I totally enjoyed Bauhaus this time. I can't believe I didn't like them the first time I saw them in Denver. I guess I had never seen a theatrical performance before and didn't know how to take it. I had warned JR and Bobbi about it and told them to just go with it and enjoy it for what it was. They got a kick out of it, especially the bat dance on the platform. I am particularly fond of the white man moon walk. Bobbi even got winked at by Peter Murphy. The "very sexy and much older than you" Dan Ash (according to Peter Murphy) is mesmerizing. What an incredible guitar player. I am now completely obsessed with him and want to lick him all over.

NIN was incredible as usual. I didn't originally want to be dead center, but that's where I ended up - 3 people back from Trent. TRez didn't come out in a hoodie this time, so we actually knew he was on stage when Somewhat Damaged started. Getting Down In It was fucking priceless! I forget which song it was, but at the part where Trent reached down behind his guitar like he was reaching down his pants, Bobbi swears he looked her in the eye and she said she almost passed out. Nice comments to the crowd about seeing Depeche Mode. Everything else has already pretty much been said.

After the show I met Dunebug again and we hung out in the parking lot until most of the cars were gone. Decided to get food before he drove 90 minutes to his friend's house. By the time we ate it was after 1AM so I told him he could crash in my room. However, there was only one bed so he had to sleep next to me. I'm not sure what was scarier, sleeping next to him or watching The Shining right before we fell asleep. I guess if you can't sleep next to Trent or Dan Ash, Dunebug will do.

Got a whopping 4 hours of sleep and got ready to go to Charlotte! To be continued in the Charlotte thread!

The show was quite awesome. I cant wait for NIN to tour again in `09.

THis show was THE best thing I have ever seen, and the setlist was nuts too.

Best Concert I've ever seen. Better than Metallica. They dropped i hard with Somewhat Damaged as the opener. I would have liked to hear more songs from their best album (The Fragile) The opening bands TV on the Radio and Bauhaus were pretty good. Burn, You Know What You Are, Wish, Closer, Head Like a Hole, The Hand That Feeds and Somewhat Damaged were the best. Loved the set they had and their effects were unfucking real. The only thing I regret is not paying for the closer seets but I am glad I didn't have lawn seats. The people there didn't seem like die hard fans but I am.

NIN play The Perfect Drug, The Wretched, We're In This Together Now, The Fragile, Mr. Self Destruct, Love is Not Enough, Everyday is Exactly the Same, Ruiner, Heresy, Reptile, Where is Everybody?, All the Love in the World, Pinion

Overall 10/10

Thought the set list was great- although it is too bad they never play "Perfect Drug" live... thought that the curfew SUCKS- this is the first time I have ever seen a live band that DIDN'T play an encore, but I blame it on the @#$%ing curfew at Alltel.

As a new North Carolinian who moved here from Portland, OR- I couldn't help but think that NIN is a bit out of their element out in the SouthEast. Would LOVE to see them live in the NW, where alt bands can truly play in an area that fosters that music (and there are a few more goth/metalheads/grunge-type people running around).

I was in the pit (yes a non-goth girl), just left of stage, getting trampled during the show and loved every minute of it! Thanks Trent and NIN for an awesome show- and I hope Aaron is OK after he completely BIT IT, smashed his @ss, then destroyed his guitar! And, the sober/buff Trent is AMAZING- keep up the sobriety!
