Sorry, folks.
Bricklayer
Trying to remember the setlist, but this is not the correct order and maybe I'm even forgetting something:

Somewhat Damaged (w/ houselights on)
Last
Heresy
March of the Pigs
Piggy
Ruiner
Closer (w/ The Only Time breakdown)
The Beginning Of The End
Burn
Gave Up
Help Me I Am In Hell
Eraser
Wish
Survivalism
Suck
The Day the World Went Away
Only
Hurt
The Hand That Feeds
Head Like a Hole

After one song Trent told about his first appearance in Germany as support of Guns 'n' Roses along with Skid Row (*shiver*) in Mannheim and that from the first minute on stage he knew it was the wrong decision to play there. He also mentioned that now he knows (pointing at the crowd) that not all Germans are saucage-throwing retards. Finally he said that this must have been the longest he ever talked on stage in his life.

Gig was good but at my position (Aaron's side, about 4-5m back) the sound really sucked (nearly no synths). Or maybe I'm too old ;)

I really enjoyed Ladytron, although the sound was even worse during their appearance.
Bricklayer
really a fun show.
not sure about the setlist, there seems to be an instrumental missing..

oh, and after telling that story about opening for guns'n'roses, ("after two minutes of playing, I realized what a terrible, terrible mistake I had made" :) ) and saying that this was probably the longest he ever talked on stage in his life, he said that he was really trying to give josh a little break because he was sick - maybe the reason for the postponed shows in britain...
The order for the last few songs is a bit off i guess, other than that this should be correct afaik.

The Day the World went away
Hurt

I enjoyed the show a lot. I like it when Bands do not give encores (face it, its staged anyways when they do... there are very rare exceptions) and i guess i would have collapsed if they decided to play more songs. Setlist was fine imo, the crowd was ok too.
Was worth every cent.

Dario wrote:not sure about the setlist, there seems to be an instrumental missing..
AFAIR there was only one instrumental played (Help Me I Am In Hell).
Master of the Ninth Arch
The show was awesome, the crowd in a good mood, the band, too and the setlist surprising :)
Bricklayer
Does anyone remember what Trent said exactly? word for word?
i did understand much, but not every detail. maybe someone can give a transcript?

regarding the show: it was great. i had a nice view on Trent and Jeordie and it was all just fucking awesome.
i liked especially the beginning, when Trent get on stage, while the lights were still on and still some roadies doing their work. a nice surprise.

Ladytron was cool. i needed to get used to their voice and singing (music was great), but then every song got better and better. They look kinda interesting, too.

... can't wait for berlin ... :)
Master of the Ninth Arch
Although we arrived VERY late at the venue (around 6.30pm) i got my place 2nd. row in front of Aaron North !

Ladytron were great again although my friend and some others around me thought they were lame, boring and just wouldn't fit together with NIN..... it seems they always play the same setlist, but i will try to get their record the next few days/weeks. That song (i think its called "17") is my favourite i guess....

Anyways.... NIN came on stage and i just realized it seems the Setlist from tonight is VERY identical with the one from the 1st. London show, except that they played the new Song "The beginning is the end" instead of "the big comedown" ... which is sad, cause "The big comedown" is one of my favourite livesongs. Setlist :

Somewhat Damaged
Last
Heresy
March of the Pigs
Piggy
Ruiner
Closer (with "The Only time breakdown)
The beginning is the end
Burn
Gave up
Help me i am in hell
Eraser
Wish
Survivalism
Only
Suck
The day the world went away
Hurt
The Hand that feeds
Head like a hole

After the 3rd song "Heresy" Aaron said something like "you look/are fucking bored" or "I am fucking bored"... or anything like that. Anyone remember !?

.... But its true... while the first 3, 4 songs the crowd was very lame.... i experienced it indeed a lot different in London.

While "March of the Pigs" Aaron jumped into the crowd.

Then Piggy came on and as usual while this Song Trent comes down the stage to the audience. I did not expect him to move so close to where i was standing, as it was maybe like :

Image

;)

But i was able to touch his left arm and my friend next to me ... well i thought she was grabbing half of Trent and would never let him go again ....... Lucky her.... I am lucky for her.

Help me i am in Hell & Eraser sounded great again ! And i have to say again i LOVE the "UFO lights" while Eraser ! As for the "Palladium" i must say the sound was WAY better than at Brixton Academy. Although i expected it not that way...

I was very lucky cause i've had enough space to jump around like crazy and i really enjoyed it. Trent seemed to be in a very good mood, cause once (cannot remember before which song, maybe "Survivalism" but not sure) he was talking about the first time they came to germany, opening for GnR and skid row and the Festival where sausages were thrown at them.
He also said something about Josh being ill ! ( Get better soon Josh ! )

A little annoying for me was that there were NO PICS given away after the show ! Not even ONE ! Josh's drumtech Jeremy threw his drumsticks into the crowd and i don't know about Jeordie's side but there was no single Pic given to the fans on Aarons side ...

Unlike London the Securities already looked very unfriendly and moody to me and also unlike London there was no water given from them. Trent and Aaron threw 3 or 4 waterbottels into the crowd though.....

Yay, i really DID NOT expect this show to be SO AWSOME !!! 1 Show left to go in 3 weeks from now. ... And i defenitely will be back in front of Aaron again ... always been in front of Jeordie but i start to like it on the "North-side" . :D

 Wow those pics and vids are amazing, thank you so much! :)
Master of the Ninth Arch
The show was simply incredible... Just loved it and enjoyed every moment.
Great sound, especially for the Palladium.
_rebekka_, hope you'll upload the other videos soon :)

EDIT: Did anyone notice that Incubus was there as well to watch the NIN show? :P
Bricklayer
Well, compared with the last two shows ive seen the crowd was quite relaxed, but in the second half it became better. For me the Guns n' Roses-Story was really funny because i was there and felt so sorry for them. Can't wait for being in the first row in Berlin!
Master of the Ninth Arch
_rebekka_
... isn't there any way to upload them at youtube as well ?!

edit: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen, just watched the Piggy clip. I see my friend there and she was standing next to me. So you must have stand anywhere very close to me ! I was the chick with the long dark ponytail....

I uploaded one more song at megaupload:

Survivalism
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=H6L7TV7V

Enjoy!:-)

I think thats better than youtube or anything like that cause after uploading them there the quality is really bad...
More to come tomorrow...

@marya
I was standing in the front row with my friend, a tall blond girl, on my left was a older guy with a ponytail. There were so many girls with long dark ponytails...

but i think i know who you were ! are you small and blond too ? Than that was you ! I was wondering about that old guy and that girl next to him ... but nevermind... but seriously, i was standing right next to you. i was wearing a black shoulderfree top, blue jeans AND a yellow and one blue shoe :D (like i always do). and mostly was jumping like crazy... hehe

Oh my god, can´t wait for Berlin next weekend! And Trent is letting his hair grow....very good decision!
My best concert so far. Awesome tracklist and Hurt was just Grrrr! :)
@ _rebekka_: Thanks so much! Those vids are great!

Also great? Last night! My hip still feels dislocated, but it was totally worth it. The setlist was everything I wanted (and more) and watching Josh during the ending of TDTWWA... what a sight!
marya wrote:A little annoying for me was that there were NO PICS given away after the show ! Not even ONE ! Josh's drumtech Jeremy threw his drumsticks into the crowd and i don't know about Jeordie's side but there was no single Pic given to the fans on Aarons side ...
Jeordie threw his into the crowd. Security (whose job was easy last night) handed the ones in front of the barrier over to the crowd.

Funny thing, some of the photographers (press) seemed quite annoyed by the smoke/lights. It didn't seem to bother Rob, may he can teach them a thing or two?

One down, (at least) two to go. Whoohoo!
Master of the Ninth Arch
i know jeordie always throws some into the crowd but i was really wondering about aaron and stuff.....

I think the photographers did not expect that much smoke... and rob knows as he is touring with me where and when to take the best pictures !
Bricklayer
The setlist made be wonder if Trent does not like his "Fragile" and "With Teeth" Albums anymore. Most songs performed are from the "Broken" and "The Downward Spiral" albums. I am not complaining, I think its great. Just some more "Pretty Hate Machine" songs would have been nice.

I think that the new album "Year Zero" continues where "The Downward Spiral" left off. "Fragile" and "With Teeth" were not really needed and do not provide many songs to the current live set for a reason.
First of all, a great concert and thx to all the nice people there :)
but it is possible not to post only the streams but also a download ?
lovely

@marya, rebekka & guwu:
well, i was also on the "north-side"!
about 5 metres distance at the beginning and after "the beginning of the end" i had a firm place in the 3rd row in front of aaron.
i was the guy with a white shirt (i think i was one of about 10 people at the whole concert who didn't wear black :) ), glasses and shoulder-long blond hair.

This is my perspective of the event. Keep checking back, because I'm going to post more videos (bits of Closer, Eraser and HMIAIH).

I also managed to record Trent's speech to German fans (already online).

*edit* _rebekka_, if you wish, I can host these files for you. A PM will suffice :)
Master of the Ninth Arch
haha thanksfor the video

And not giving me the credit ;)

*edit* My journal has been updated with more pictures and videos.

it was beautiful. i tried not to get squished but kinda move like bamboo and everything was fine, even when guys twice as tall and heavy as me were pushing me around...

i really enjoyed ladytron, my friend said, it felt like being young in again! (80´s) and he - almost annoyingly often - said "old Simple Minds, really"

i´ve already read that g´n´r story somewhere and the other one where trizzle said something nasty about his german audience (festival crowd).. and i knew that he would change his mind when he plays in an intimate location like the palladium. i´ve never seen someone enjoying himself so much on stage. it´s great when not only you get something out of it, when you´re giving as well and "interaction" is wanted. what´s better than making someone smile?

"somewhat damaged" was something i hoped for, great opener.
_rebekka_ you´ve uploaded some cool stuff, when i looked at your myspace page, i remembered your face. cinderella, bon jovi and nin go together, who knew that.

Yeah wasnt that old guy strange!? He was just standing there the whole concert without moving or anything. I was wondering why he was there...

Well..I must admit for a photographer the smoke can be really annoying. I was also trying to take some pix and then smoke came and I could forget it. But luckily I wasnt there just to take photos but to enjoy the show!:-)

Yes, my friend was the one with the grey NIN shirt and short hair, hehe ... Yeees, that old man, i thought it was pretty cool cause i realized in Cologne you had so many different aged people. And from where i was standing i could see his expression on his face quite often and i got the impression it was like "Wtf are they (NIN) doing there ?!" :D

Pretty funny. Ah, cannot wait for Frankfurt.

And i want to add that Ladytron are indeed A LOT better live than on the record !!

It seems that we all stood in the same spot. Reading your descriptions, I can remember some faces :)

With rebekka's already given permission, I'll convert these to a MPEG-4 format (mp4 container). Currently they're Motion JPEG files in a Quicktime container. The result will be a smaller file, I'll host them on my server and publish them around monday/tuesday (given that you don't waste bandwidth ;).

Just a free service - from NIN fans for NIN fans :D

Does someone know the guy in the audience who could have been Trent Reznors double? Small, short black hair, wearing a olive green parka with a marilyn manson sticker on one arm. I did talk to him after the concert and he mentioned to be from Dortmund but I forgot to ask for any kind of address. He was also at the concert in Dortmund. A message would be nice. Thanks!
