yes, the was a great show... though i was certainly hoping for witt since it was the last show of the tour.
actually, a lot more fragile would have been nice. speaking of which, is anybody else grossly let down with anything that has come out after the fragile? i mean, its good, but no where near tds and the fragile. any thoughts on this?

I enjoyed the gig, but was left a bit longing for Just Like You Imagined, We're In This Together, Now and No, You Don't. However, thank you for Somewhat Damaged, Heresy and especially LAST! <3
Also, as the comments of the YouTube video (link at the end of the post) show as well, I've been hitting myself in the head for not taking more videos, since I thought the mic on my digicam wouldn't be able to take the sound pressure. Well, now I know better and will take more videos if NIN ever returns to Finland or I see them elsewhere.
Our seats were way back as well, so you can't really see anything and it's real shaky with the 6x zoom. 
Trent seemed to be in a good mood here as well, and thanked Ladytron and the set crew for the European tour. We also got the swinging lamps mentioned from the Stockholm gig, nice lil' touch.
BIG MINUS: So, the gig wasn't nearly sold out. The floor area was only around 60% full! And I could see the seats in use around the Ice Hall were spread out really unevenly. So, for instance, I was stuck almost at the back (and many *AT* the back) while there were empty seats closer to the stage, and empty space on the floor area, also way closer to the stage. So, since the ticket service or someone rather screwed up with the ticket sales of the floor area, they should've made an exception and refund tickets so people would be able to get floor tickets or whatnot. 'coz obviously the security personnel wasn't allowed to let people with seat tickets to the floor area no matter how much space they had there during the whole gig.
And obviously there wasn't any screen so I'm just lucky I got real good eyesight and saw most of the fun stuff happening on the stage. They didn't really break much stuff, though.

Süper Düper gig, totally merciless!!! They weren't gonna pussy-foot around just because it's the last show on the tour, full steam ahead:)

it was really really good gig, first three songs , i was like this can´t be real but it was 
Good or bad thing: When Trent sings Hurt, everybody was quiet almost like in church, but nobody didn´t ruin that great song.
Many good songs, and no slow moments. full speed ahead.

I missed the first three songs...which I'm pretty sad about...´cos they're kind of my favorites. And now I'm reading that they were kind of like the best part of the show.
Eraser was mindblowing...with the lonely swinging lamp in the begining over josh and then at the end of the song when it explodes all the lamps moving even more so and Trent jumping up in the air hitting the lamp above him so hard I thought it would brake.
"Only" didn't really work out that well live...I think Trent might have lost the words 'cos they were kind of looping at some part of the song and I didn't feel like it was on purpose?...don't know...anyway I think they picked the wrong songs from WT...the singles are not always the best ones...
Gave Up, Help Me I'm In Hell and Down In It were the perfect drug for this show...and the YZ songs, Survivalism and The Beginning Of The End were a pleasant suprise live.
A pleasant suprise was also the fact that Trent spoke to the crowd pretty much, thanking us over and over again, thanking Ladytron and his crew (even brought one of the crew members on stage throwing a hell of a lot of water on the guy) and telling us that we/helsinki was a pleasant suprise and that he won't let us wait another 18 years, that this was the last show of the european tour and that it's an honour for him to play it for us here in Hell-sinki.
The show ended with Head Like A Hole...and I just gotta say, there's no better way to end the show of all times. I think my heart might have stopped a couple of times during this show.
Thank you, Trent, Jeordie, Aaron, Alessandro and Josh for an amazingly mindblowing experience. This economicly struggeling poor student feels that for ones I used my money for something good, an experience of art and music that will give me energy for a longer than just a while.

Well, I for one am speechless. I was quite close to the stage and man, it was a fucking intense party out there with some really intense music. I absolutely loved it. I can still feel the burn in my legs out of all that jumping.

Really good show! During Piggy Trent threw his microphone to the audience It was great! Survivalism sounded much better live than on the record. I got some little videos from that show and I'll put them to youtube.

Indeed a pity that the show wasn't sold out, but Trent still gave us his all and was very friendly.
The first 5 songs were just awesome, especially the ones from The Downward Spiral.
The Beginning of the End could have been better, I imagined that it would be great to hear it live, personally didn't enjoy it as much as the previous songs.
But then came Closer! In my mind it was just as good as the Beside You In Time performance (I just love the "The Only Time" part, it fits into Closer perfectly).
Burn and Gave Up were also great. They turned the tempo right into the max before Help Me I am in Hell and Eraser. HMIAIH worked as a great intro into Eraser, which is just one of those songs I definitely needed to hear.
Wish and The Big Come Down were sweet, always good to hear something from The Fragile. I kinda felt the same way about Survivalism and Only as
I felt about The Beginning of the End, I think i was just in the mood for some darker songs from TDS or The Fragile.
Suck and Down In It (which sounded excellent) were two very pleasant surprises for me, good to hear something unexpected before the traditional end (Hurt, THTF and HLAH).
The performance was mind-blowing, personal favourites were the Spiral songs and Burn. The rest of the setlist was also great, but gotta agree with Rachcar, some more Fragile wouldn't have been bad, I was hoping to hear The Wretched and We're in This Together (or The Day the World Went Away).
But of course the show was unforgettable, like Nervous I hope that NIN will come back here soon.

the arena floor was sold out. It wasn't supposed to be sold full, only about half of it (probably fire precautions or something). The seat places weren't sold out.
Great show. Kick-ass start with SD, Last and Heresy.
If I have to think of some dissapointing things, I was hoping for the big screen during some songs and I have to say that Jeordie's performance was kinda boring to watch to...maybe he was fatigued.
Hurt was the absolute highlight (even though couple of drunken hillbillies were trying to ruin it by shouting "fuck you" to Trent), Eraser as well. Survivalism sounded really good!
In conclusion...fantastic time.

I think the "pleasant surprise" comment was about the reaction to The Big Come Down. He then proceeded to say something about good audiences, "but you guys are fucking special."
I was about 3rd or 4th row center, and while the set itself was fairly brutal, I think the people around there were very well behaved. Special thanks to the I assume British man in a black Spiral t-shirt who helped my little sister over the rail when she was about to faint.
Ladytron IMO were a lot better than what I have read on this board. It's not the easiest job to open for NIN, but I think they handled it very well. I'd see them again if I get the chance.
And NIN were just as good as I expected. This was my second time seeing them, and definitely the better one. They started SD with house lights on, and while I was hoping for mr. self destruct, this was a hell of an opener. Last just totally rocked, it's amazing they didn't play it for all those years. Heresy was an awesome singalong (as was most of the show actually) and was nice to hear anyway since it was one of my early favorites when I was just getting into NIN.
I really really liked the fact that Hurt wasn't ruined by an idiot audience. There was some singing along, but with a reasonable volume. At Provinssirock '05 the audience totally stole that song which I thought was very inappropriate. Some might like it that way, but I like to hear the actual vocalist.

Moving on, "Heresy" and "March of the Pigs" totally owned the show. I'd say that the beginning of the show was just too good. I wasn't expecting that they would play "Piggy", but it was good. Next, a "Year Zero" song called "The Beginning of the End" what would have been better in my opinion, but it was good enough. After that came few of my favorites "Closer" , what was good as always, "Burn" and "Gave Up". First, I thought that the next song will be "Eraser" just like in the DvD "Beside You in Time",but I was wrong, the next song was "Help Me I Am In Hell" and then "Eraser" came. Those songs fitted very well in the show together. Continuing with "Wish" and "The Big Come Down". I really loved "The Big Come Down". It is one of the best songs in "The Fragile" album in my opinion. After that came next "Year Zero" song "Survivalism" what completely rocked. The next song "Only" was a bit strange, because Trent made a break in the beginning of the song and then looped that part about 4-5 times. I was surprised when I heard the next song "Suck". Didn't really though that they would play that, but it absolutely rocked. "Down in it" was the first, but not last song from "Pretty Hate Machine". It also rocked. At last, few ordinary songs: "Hurt", "The Hand That Feeds" and "Head Like a Hole"(HLAH is my personal favorite )

The show was just amazing! I was at the railing in the middle the whole time. Got some memorabilia: a guitar pick and a water bottle But the best part was the view. It was like someone beside me said before the show begun: I almost felt like I was at a club, ’cause the stage was so close and small(ish). I need to thank the gentle giant Neil who stood next to me: I think you might be the only reason why I was able to stand where I did for the whole show. You were an absolute gentleman. You were not crushing me, even though the security person seemed to think so
Trent, you are amazing. It was the best concert I’ve ever been to. And I mean that with all honesty. I thank you from the bottom of my heart and hope to see you here again some day.
Ladytron was pretty much the same as on Sunday, but I did catch the singer girls smiling at one point. Seeing emotions was nice. They also didn’t have the screen they had in Stockholm. There was still something missing from the live performance and now I think was the emotions. I like it when there are emotions on the stage. Anyway, I liked their music a little more than on the first time, and it wasn’t bad then either.
NIN came on when the house lights were still on and some crew members were still on the stage. Suddenly Trent was standing right in front of me. I might have had a slight fangirl moment there. And many times after. During Piggy the mic was thrown into the audience but Trent never came down from the stage. Almost from the beginning Trent was filled with energy, he was jumping and moving a lot on the stage, and clapping too. He also spoke quite a lot. He was really pleased with the crowd and took some time to let us know that. He also thanked the crew and Ladytron. Hoping someone filmed the speech. Trent’s presence was so strong I almost didn’t notice the other guys. I did notice Aaron jumping into the crowd, and occasionally passing by at crazy speed. Also during Eraser it looked like he had the mic in his mouth in the ”kill me” part. Maybe it really was so.
I had a few weird moments where I noticed Trent was(is) extremely sexy... In one song - for the life of me I can not remember which - he moved his hand on the neck of his guitar in a way that was sooo erotic… Jesus. And there were more of those moments. Until this show I’ve managed to not be interested in the physical appearance of Trent. I hope this’ll pass, don’t wish to become a drooling fangirl...
It was again fun to worship Trent in HLaH, this time the railing was more humanely shaped and I had placed a shirt on the railing as padding so I didn’t get more bruises on my chest. After the show I heard some girl speaking about the people who worshiped Trent saying she thought it was ”so stupid”. Maybe so, but it’s fun and at least on my part not to be taken too seriously.
Down In It was great live, everything was great. The tracks from YZ are really good live, and it sounded like quite many in the audience already knew the lyrics, and at least picked up the chorus. During Hurt there was some screaming, not much considering how much people there were. Also a few drunken shout-outs, it was Finland after all. But Trent sang ”my sweetest friends”. Don’t know if that’s something he usually does, didn’t notice it in Stockholm, though it was reported to have been so.
This time I left my camera home which made it easier to just go with the flow and enjoy every moment of the show. There are a few moments I wish someone caught with a camera and will make available for everyone.
There was so much energy in the ice hall I didn’t feel tired for a long time even after the show. I hadn’t eaten much all day, but didn’t notice that until I was out on the streets. I certainly did not drink enough before or during the show. I’m surprised I got through it at the front. There was a girl a little bigger than me who forced her way next to me into the front row in the beginning of the show and then passed out after a few songs. But I was alright all the time.
I was left grinning like a fool when the show ended. After the show I felt quite silly carrying the empty water bottle around. It didn’t fit into my tiny bag, but I figured it would always bring a smile on my face. Couldn’t sleep last night, too much adrenalin still in my blood, I guess. I found new bruises this morning, but during the show I didn’t feel any pain. There were a few moments when the pressure from behind me made it impossible for me to breath, but they passed quickly. Before the show I asked the men around me not to kill me and they promised not to. Most of the time I was standing diagonally because I was pushed from the sides but couldn’t move my feet anywhere. So I held on to the railing for dear life. And had the best time ever. This was a perfect ending for my long vacation.

I certainly did not drink enough before or during the show. I’m surprised I got through it at the front. There was a girl a little bigger than me who forced her way next to me into the front row in the beginning of the show and then passed out after a few songs. But I was alright all the time.
I was left grinning like a fool when the show ended. After the show I felt quite silly carrying the empty water bottle around. It didn’t fit into my tiny bag, but I figured it would always bring a smile on my face. Couldn’t sleep last night, too much adrenalin still in my blood, I guess. I found new bruises this morning, but during the show I didn’t feel any pain. There were a few moments when the pressure from behind me made it impossible for me to breath, but they passed quickly. Before the show I asked the men around me not to kill me and they promised not to. Most of the time I was standing diagonally because I was pushed from the sides but couldn’t move my feet anywhere. So I held on to the railing for dear life. And had the best time ever. This was a perfect ending for my long vacation.

Yeah, forgot to say I also definitely enjoyed hearing Down In It. Rain, rain, go away... Oh, and had some weird dreams the following night, parts of them definitely NIN-related.

My first NIN show (I wasn't able to see them two years ago but finally!)! I queued for about 6 hours and managed to get to the 3rd row. I had never been so close to the stage in big concerts before and what an experience! I couldn't stand, I had problems to see to the stage almost all the time and there was so hot and I felt myself so small there. But I was so happy and can't still believe that I was there and heard and saw everything. Next to me (most of the show) was a nice man who asked if I could see anything behind him and told his drunken friends to shut up when Hurt began. Thank you!
Setlist was great. So much Broken and TDWS and not With teeth. I'm so happy that they played Burn and Heresy. I was hoping for The becoming and Mr Self destruct but you can't get everything.
And thanks to the girl with blond curly hair who managed to save my place while I was drinking some water outside. Thanks!

That was the sister in question, I was right behind you guys. I was happy to see her right behind us however at the end of the show, she'd just been chilling for a moment and drinking some water. It hasnt been mentioned here but AARON crowd surf'd! But I totally missed it. I was in front of Jeordie and had a good view of all bandmembers.
I also went to the shows in Copenhagen and Stockholm but this was the best. YOU LYCKY BASTARD FINNS! (and me, hahaha) Probably a lot better because of my position, (first row in front of Jeordie).
They also did a prank to a crew guy (I don't know which role he has in the crew) Trent had a long thank-you speach and when he was thanking the crew he poited at that guy (in front of us, below the stage) and said "especially this guy" and two other crew members came up from behind on the stage and poured a cooling box full of some deliciously smelling juice and ice over him. Awesome!
This Ladytron gig actually felt like it was a Ladytron gig and not some pre-wait-filling band for NIN.
Well, all in all, I'm so satisfied I can't put words to it. Definitely a bigger NIN fan now than I've ever been.
Have you guys seen any rewievs in the press? There were a lot of photographers there so I guess there has to be something about it in the media. If you find it could you also please translate it? THANKS!
And if I see Neil on the spiral I'd send him here. It always a pleasure helping others in the pit. I know myself because I helped a black haired girl who passed out that they had to carry away when they got her out of there. People around me shouted at the security crew several times to take her but they didn't until she passed out in front of them. Very strange? Hope she's doing fine and had a great concert!

I read the reviews in HS by JA (both the one before the show and the one after) yeah, it seems jussi ahlroth is quite a NIN fan. If that happened during Hurt, then it was probably me. I was on 2nd or 3rd row in front of Jeordie (and had to fight for my place through the whole gig, the crowd was really quite insane :D). I remember asking water at the end of Down In It and then all went black. The next thing I knew was that I was on the first row, and I couldn't see or hear properly. I was really confused and thought something like "Oh nice, I'm on the first row. And hey, they are playing Hurt, maybe these people are not gonna jump that much. After that everything is kind of a blur but I guess that some security guy was asking if I felt better. I don't even know if I really managed to say anything but I tried to nod and be very convincing that I was all fine. Then I passed out completely and woke up when someone was giving me water and the band was playing The Hand That Feeds. I was still so messed up, that I actually thought for some weird reason that they were playing Terrible Lie and not THTF.
But it was a great show and I'm definitely going to see them again. Maybe I could even try to stay conscious next time :D Thanks to all of you who pushed me to the first row and helped to get me out of there.

NIN came and rocked the house. Audience (on the floor, where I was too) didn't move that much during Somewhat Damaged and Last but when Heresy started, people started move and jump around. And when they started March Of The Pigs, the floor turned into fucking devil's dance floor! And that seemed to affect on Trent, because he got huge smile on his face for the rest of the show. He talked very much and thanked the crowd many times. Hurt was an obvious highlight, because the church-silent ice hall. There was no more sounds in the air than Trent's whisper and piano. Somebody even light a candle during Hurt.
Amazing performance, one of the most energetic I've ever seen. The guy who is responsible for the lightshow of this tour should have an oscar or something. I really hope that NIN will return to Finland as soon as possible.
And btw, Ladytron was quite boring. It's not easy job to open for NIN, but since NIN is in Finland more popular among rock- and metal fans, many members of the audience could have enjoyed more if some rocking act had been booked instead. Personally, I liked one song they did ... it was the one where the main-vocalist did those haunting "ooo-ooo" vocals.

Nine Inch Nails thundered in the ice hall.
American industrial metal group Nine Inch Nails played a strong concert yesterday in nearly sold out Ice hall of Helsinki. After nearly two hours of swimming in alternative rock and industrial metal sounds, in generally black-clothed crowd of epicures left the hall with satisfied feelings for they had just been treated with inclusive survey of band’s nearly two decade history.
The show at ice hall of exciting mixture of visuals and music. The band toured Europe with lightened equipment, which meant that the band didn’t fool around with massive amount of theatrics. The impression was stylishly scarce: the only ornaments besides the scanty used lightning rig were the five lamps above each player and those lambs got quite a ride during the show.
And the members of the band couldn’t stand still either. Especially the guitarist Aaron North’s rampage and even clown-like swinging and awkwardness offered the crowd entertainment worth of every euro. During the fourth song, March Of The Pigs, Smith rushed at the audience and at the end of the gig you couldn’t see nothing but his feet kicking in the air for a brief moment.
Although the band had nine weeks of hectic touring in Europe behind, the headman of the group, Trent Reznor, was still in excellent shape. His rough voice carried clearly through the gig and the audience didn’t get away easily either. The hit-tubing at the begging lifted the atmosphere in a powerful way, and when 40 minutes had passed one wondered if the band still has some rounds to shoot for the rest show – many of the biggest hits and favourites had been heard already. But one worried for nothing, because there is so much of excellent material on NIN-records that audience was still jumping and running in the later half of the show.
The audience was treated with notable amount of early material of NIN. From the new soon to be released album only couple of cuts were played and the material from band’s middle history to this day was completely in supporting role. It felt like the band wanted to thank the hardcore fans. And maybe for a reason, because NIN’s performances in and near Finland can be counted with one arm fingers. Reznor’s wish, that it would not take 17 years to return to Finland quite valid.
Besides of great song selections the performance was memorable because of band’s energetic stage-presence and that stylish scantiness. The lamps above heads of each band member were used skilfully and the performers many times gave those lamps a pretty aggressive swings. Swinging and flashing lights mixed up great with other lights: at one time those lambs completed the show and at second time they were stealing the show.
Offset the rampaging the ice hall got silence for couple of slower songs. Especially beautiful was the whispering performance of Hurt, when Reznor stood alone with keyboards at dark stage with only one lightning spot.
And what was the most great thing about this concert, the concert worked for everybody neither one was a long time fan or knew just couple of hits. Band’s material is so wide and classy that with great live band, cool lightshow, and Reznor’s many-sided voice the band was able to create magnificent and memorable experience. The band really deserves a one month break now, before they head to other side of the globe, Australia.
Band’s new album, Year Zero, is to be released in 17th of april.

The security seemed to be quite un-alert in the beginning. They only noticed Jusaz's sister when Neil was already helping her over the rail. We (mostly he) tried to get their attention before that. This was the best show of the three I've been to this tour, no question about it. Both NIN and Ladytron!
Ladytron performed at their best, this was the first time I really enjoyed them, and this time I really did! Both due to that the music kind of grows on you and the performance was better than previous gigs.
I was standing next to Slechmiinh: front row, right in front of Jordie, and as you guys mentioned earlier the lights were still on when they came out. I first thought that it was someone with the crew, but I soon realize that it was Trent walking up to the mic and started singing. That was pretty cool.
Even though the setlist was quite smilar to Copenhagen and Stockholm, this gig was spectacular! This was more of a show compared to the previous gigs I've attended to this last week. With all the talking and everything. I loved the prank they pulled on the crew guy. He was standing right in front of me, the juice was refreshing on your legs and feets.
My position was splendid, a lot of eye contact, perfect view, just like a private show And they finally played Down In It! Amazing song!
No, the security guards weren't very alert. That black haired girl (Anilla) passed two times before she was pulled up. And it took quite a while to get their attention the two times we tried. At least she's okay

Front centre - pretty much pole position. Lots of eye contact, perfect view... couldn't have asked for more.
The bouncers were a touch off their game, but maybe even they were distracted by the shenanigans going on behind them.
Loved "Somewhat Damaged" to start, as it's one of my favourite songs, and the addition of "Down In It" was a very pleasant surprise. Overall the set-list was different enough to be fresh for each of the three shows I saw on this tour (London, Amsterdam and Helsinki).
All in all, made me very glad that I put Trent's name into space a couple of years back. Glad everyone is ok and enjoyed the gig. It really was an amazing night.
Front centre - pretty much pole position. Lots of eye contact, perfect view... couldn't have asked for more.
The bouncers were a touch off their game, but maybe even they were distracted by the shenanigans going on behind them.
Loved "Somewhat Damaged" to start, as it's one of my favourite songs, and the addition of "Down In It" was a very pleasant surprise. Overall the set-list was different enough to be fresh for each of the three shows I saw on this tour (London, Amsterdam and Helsinki).
All in all, made me very glad that I put Trent's name into space a couple of years back. It's in the thanks list on this plate: http://www.sseti.net/gallery/315.html which is bolted into this spacecraft: http://www.sseti.net/gallery/121.html which launched from Russia 27/10/05 on this rocket: http://www.sseti.net/gallery/125.html . After the show I felt a bit empty...for me it was somewhat anticlimatic...somehow the consert was what most NIN songs are...they start to built from a scratch and promise something world ending...the world didn't end though, I'm still alive and the sons of ***** that sat next to me are still as annoying as they were when the gig started...They failed...
Like you said...the whole thing is getting bigger now and I am enjoying it everyday... Ankkarock It is... against all I stand for but since my god is coming the place doesn't matter...I just hope it is not a tent...

Damn, I was too lazy to write anything about the gig afterwards and now I can't remember anything worth to mention anymore... Little disappointed by the lack of TF (I was really hoping for WITT and/or No, You Don't), but I'll have another change of hope on August at Ankkarock. Eraser and Down in It kicked asses. Meh.
