Got in there by 8:30, the show started at about 8:40.

I loved the stage. Simple black space, perfect for light color show.

I loved the show in general, it was an absolutely amazing visual experience. Almost half of all time they performed behind a huge screen [though it was see-through], they had an awesome video effects, I can't even describe it. I was standing quite far from the stage so I could see the "full" beauty of it. I think it would have sucked if I was right near the stage. Plus it was nice to chill in the back, some fresh air, no sweaty people rubbing against me

I LOVED the sound. Now that's how the real professionals work! It was perfect and flawless, my ears don't even hurt

The audience wasn't the best, but they sang along almost to every song and by the end of the show everyone jumped and clapped. I also liked it more because NIN fans are a bit "older" in general, not so much stupid drunk teenagers. It was also fun seeing 40 y.o. guys jumping and screaming their head off The floor was quite empty, which is a bit disappointing.

The two guys who ate ecstasy [or some other bad pills] right next to me were pretty fucking scary. Good thing that they jumped away

Of course NIN played Closer, Hole, The Hand That Feeds and other masterpieces, but the show went by too fast. There were almost no breaks between the songs, but eventually Trent talked to the crowd a little bit and of course, as a tradition, said "Spasibo". The closing song was some beautiful. All the lights went down and Trent was standing behind that screen, I loved the effect of falling snowflakes and of course all the people lighted their lighters and cellphones, so everything around looked like a night sky. Beautiful

Whooo. Late but whatever, I´ve just got home.

It was nice to hear the new stuff.
Hyperpower with TBOTE is really good opener. Sound was ok. A little bit echoed but nothing serious. Trent soundded kind of insecure on the new songs, but it was the first show of the tour so whoul´d complain anyway.

I´m sucker for visuals and these one are definitely enjoyable. Finally something more than just synchronized lights. More distopian content would have been welcome, but that´s just me.

Highlights: The Great Destroyer (the second part blew me away, keep the noise going, Trent) Eraser (as always...+ sounds really good after TGD) Capital G (let´s dance)

The first time I've ever seen Nine Inch Nails live!

From the moment the band took stage for Hyperpower!, it was clear who was going to set the momentum for the evening. While the audience was clearly into the performance, the lack of bodies in the Fan Zone could not be overlooked. While those who bit the bullet gave it their everything, you couldn't help but (or at least I couldn't help but) worry that Trent would be angry about the half-filled venue--after all, it's Trent we're talking about; the Prince of Fucking Darkness himself.

During Last, Trent seemed to have let some of his aforementioned frustration out on Josh Freese for no apparent reason. At some point during the song (I believe he was talking about throwing something away) he decided he'd toss over one of the Josh's mics, which resulted in him (Trent) taking a plunge on stage. While this ellicited a strong cheer from the audience, I couldn't help but feel that maybe Trent finally learned that being a dick for no reason really doesn't pay off. When I say "feel" I think I really mean "hope."

The Russian audience was really excited about Survivalism. There's really nothing to add to that sentence.

Jeordie finally decided to unleash some of his wild antics duringCloser. Halfway through the song, he figured it would be fitting to lead us in some band-audience interaction, which in this case was a round of clapping. The Russian audience deserves an A+ for showing him they weren't having any of that shit. Not a single person followed through and Jeordie was forced to give it up. I'm pretty sure he was a little more than embarassed.

Capital G marked the first point in the concert that there was a noticeable difference to the previous tours (aside from the fact that the audience was Russian). With the addition of some new filters for the spotlights, the band achieved a marvelous "holed" effect that much resembles Swiss cheese. If there is any visual that popped into my mind while listening to Capital G on CD then it is that of Trent with Swiss cheese covering his sweating face and loving every minute of it.

Me, I'm Not began with the screen being lowered and some keyboard/mac book rigs being wheeled in. After about 30 seconds of what sounded like a dying whale (the word on the street suggests it may actually be Another Version of the Truth), 3 green beams appeared and the band proceeded to rock out at said computers, sans Jeordie et Josh. During the screen segment I noted 2 important details: 1.) Trent must be a huge Blue Man Group fan. Hopefully he'll settle down in Las Vegas or Berlin, build his own theater and perform every night. 2.) Rob (or whichever homeless dude suckered into making the visuals) was lazy this time around. The breakdown of The Great Destroyer consisted of what I thought at the time was a crappy gif that Rob threw together 20 minutes before the performance (when he wasn't fiddling around with his iPhone and photographing random people). Much to my surprise, this was not a gif, nor was it created by Rob but I'll get into that more later.

The beginning of Eraser sported what appeared to be the same visuals used for the last US tour with the cage thing. I'm guessing anyway 'cause I usually either fall asleep by that part of the DVD (hell, I usually don't make it through Somewhat Damaged). I guess the end with the sun thing might be different, but then again I've never actually watched this part of the DVD. I'm just trying to sound seasoned.

Only employed this television distortion white noise gif thingie yet again. By this point I was really beginning to hate Rob. Hate in the purest sense of the word. My ticket was 135 USD and Rob did such a half-assed job as to not only use the same visual twice, but to also.... TO ALSO USE SUCH A QUICKLY THROWN TOGETHER ONE? Luckily for Rob, I noticed it wasn't a gif. No, that lazy bastard simply recorded real television distortion. I don't know what current Intellectual Property Laws say about recording, duplicating and broadcasting distortion, but I think ethically it should be forbidden. But what set me off is definitely illegal. Around 1:40 into the song, I noticed Elvis, the King of Rock 'n Roll, gyrating in the background with his signature white jacket with the collar flipped up. Juding by his figure, the recording must've been made only days before he kicked the can... but this review isn't about the Elvis concert I was connect into watching. Oh no. It's about Nine Inch Nails and that lazy bastard Rob. Eventually I think Trent noticed this faux pas as well and the screen was (thankfully) lifted. Lifted like the Iron Curtain to show the beauty of Trent's sweat-dripping biceps and Aaron's hanky.

Before Hand that Feeds Trent decided the time was ripe for a little speech. He said something like "Fuck George Bush! I will never perform in the United States again. I am hereby denouncing my American citizenship." After a few boos from (presumably) American fans, the band kicked into the song and there was no stopping them from there.

Finally, the obligatory Head Like a Hole was played. At the end, Trent broke nothing, Jeordie did not throw his guitar and reel it back in again (he also didn't stage dive his way out, which I thought was kind of strange), and Aaron didn't successfully break anything either. Maybe they were as afraid of the Militia as I was.

After chanting "Nine Inch Nails" for about an eternity, the band returned and graced us with a cool cover of Kate Bush's Babushka. I was unaware that Trent was able to sing in falsetto like that, but he proved himself. Then he played some other song that had some snow flakes and stuff in it. I didn't really understand it. At some point he stopped and began again. I think he had to scratch of something. As a guy, I can fully accept and support the fact that he had to stop the concert for that. Actually that might have been during the St. Petersburg concert. The song was weird though. I can say with total honesty that I have never heard it before in my life.

My review of St. Petersburg will follow.

Did he say this or did he say something like this? Because I have it from people with bootlegs of that show that all he said was "Fuck George Bush!" and not a single thing about denouncing his citizenship or never playing a US show again. It'd be appreciated if people wouldn't invent statements and put them into Senor Reznor's mouth, as there are a lot of US fans banking on him playing here again, and making up shit like this doesn't play well with our senses of humor.

glancing at your review I realized the entire thing was carefully crafted bullshit. Uh, good show I guess, although I'm not sure I understand why someone would waste their time writing such a convoluted and ridiculous review of one obscure concert performance.
