Overall, Good Show...

Dandy Warhols sucked...constant feeling of "get out already"...

Surprise #1 was the flow of positive energy and politeness through the whole show ..gone are the days of dark violence etc. Trent was happy, thankful and filled with "you're the best crowd, this is why we do this" type sentences.... He seemed to be really into it and left an extremely sympathetic impression here....

Hyperpower + TBOTE are nice as an intro, but it's nowhere as bombastic opening as one would expect...

Sound was OK, but Aron's guitar basically destroyed everything else in the mix.... i would prefer to hear all the synth sounds which were quite buried down....

Josh Freese did a solid job, Aaron was mosh pit jumping, Jordie stood there all the time and Alessandro was hidden in the background... typical for them i guess... i'm one of those ppl who prefer the old line up all the way, but this definitely wasn't bad...

Song highlights for me were the classics like Sin, HLAH, Suck etc. ... Year Zero songs were weaker but still OK... new video distortion screens were cool and supported Me I'm Not + The Great Destroyer which would have been quite boring without them... The ending of TGD is great...

Survivalism, The Good Soldier and Dead Souls were the lowest points of the show imo....

I'm normally sick of hearing Hurt, but in live form it's still great closure to the show...

Compared to 2005 With Teeth tour show, this one was better.... but Fragility shows remains unbeatable (for me)...

8/10

Good show.
I was kind of affraid of the venue, but everything turned out well. The same setlist as yeasterday was kind of disappointing.
I have never seen Trent to be so much into the show. He apologized for not being here for 13 years, but he said he´s gonna be back soon (which mean another tour with the new album - 2008, perhaps?). He said he had best fans in the world. The crowd were so loud, that he had to hold the beginig of Hurt. TDTWWA had different lights than yesterday.

Highlights: No You Don´t, Dead Souls, The Great Doestryer.
Master Traveler
Yeah, Trent was in an excellent mood. "I know every band says that it has the best fans in the world. But I know that we have."

Rob was taking pictures in front of me all the time. ;)

The setlist was cool, I didn't attend Bratislava, but I recognized it as the same. I really liked every song ... Highlights were the songs with screens of course, especially "Eraser"!

Other really great perfomances were "Survivalism" (as always), "Suck", "Gave up", "Head like a hole" und "Hurt". I saw it in Frankfurt, where he was so pissed off, but last night, everything was completely different. And this is good. :)
And I really loved all other songs, really, I enjoyed every single song. But the one that blew me away was definitley "The day the world went away". I didn't saw it before (in Munich and Frankfurt) and I was so thankful to get it. :)

All in all the audience was great, too. A few fans, that knew just newer songs like THTF and "Only" and some who only freak out to "NIN rock songs", but all in all very loud and friendly. Obviously Trent liked the atmosphere :)

My pics turned out quite shitty, but later or tomorrow I try to load up a few ...
Master Traveler
This was a kick ass show!!! I saw them i Stockholm last tuesday, and then flew down to Prague to see them and this was about 1000000 times better.

The crowd was really WILD, the fences moved about 2 meters during the concert, starting during MOTP. A lot of security guards had to rush to the fences to hold the crowd back!

Highlight: I got Trent's tambourine! :D

Like everybody says Trent was in a good mood. Aaron stagedived (during MOTP i think). Jordie was in an unusually good mood too, and even moved some (!!!) and smiled and did small funny stuff. I stood front row inbetween Jordie and Trent.

Pics and reviews? I have some pics, but I need to unpack first :)
Master Traveler
Not the best, I know. ;)

We have got A LOT OF quality videos from this show. That was absolutelly awesome.
"Well be back," Trent said. That was promise. So i hope he will be back soon.
Dead Souls, Survivalism and TDTWWA was the best, imho.
Trent was talking like nowhere else. He said MUCH MORE than on other shows ive ever heard (and seen (Munich 2007)).
So... thank you, Trent, thank you, NIN, thank you, NINFans.
I'll post our videos and photos on special page (something like my http://mnichov2007.wz.cz site) later and i'll give you link ;)

EDIT: The Dandy Warhols were terrible. Ive never heard worse shit. That was the worst support to NIN, i think. Really fockin shit.
Knight of the Royal Axe

hey all!

yeah great show, still stunned from it...

Got a little amount of nin and prague related pictures at http://www.pixbox.se/alb_show_id517836_page0.html

only 1 lousy picture from the show though, as I was busy trying to stay alive in the crowd....!

See you there next time!

And yeah fuck me I'm a dandy warhole disliker, not hater.. I think they were the worst openic act I've heard so far, but they did a good job, it's though opening for NIN!!!

Looked to me like they were set to play Capital G rather than The Day the World Went Away, but Trent changed it up at the last minute. Why do I think this?

1.) Trent yelled into his personal mic for a bit before the song began.
2.) The lights used for The Day the World Went Away were the ones normally used for Capital G. TDTWWA is blue, not green.
3.) The crowd was so agressive (forcing the barrier forward) that Trent probably recognised we didn't much need more excitement.

Maybe someone got a setlist or snapped a photo of one and can confirm this.
I don't think so, because the setlist was exactly the same as in Bratislava. And for the first moment I thought they'll play Beside You In Time :)

You´re right with the lights, however, TDTWWA was on the setlist, it wasn´t changed on the flow.

My friends stood right by the soundboard - they saw the list.
Another friend of mine was SMSed by his GF who was being backstage.

I came back late yesterday and wasn´t in the mood to post after I saw the photo from the barricade in the photo blog archives. I wanted to start my post stating "My god, you Czechs are so gentil crowders!" I was like 8th row in front of Aaron and all night no one jumped on my foot although every one jumped all the time, people just jumped high but not to the side. There were guys in flip-flops (sandals) close to me! I didn´t even notice that something has happened in the first row. During which song did it take place? I hope no one got injured!
Beside this, it was awesome. The Great Destroyer and Eraser alone would be worth travelling to the following shows, too.
I had the impression that Aaron was a little tired after three gigs in three days and had problems to break his guitar in the end. But playing it with the mic stand was a good idea, I didn´t know that he can do this before :-)
Oh, and I shocked myself when during MOTP I discovered that I clapped enthusiastically. I belonged to the persons who thought MOTP was a song to hate everyone not to clap with Trent leading you. But he got me, I didn´t even realize it in the beginning. Damn, Trent, you take my sanity!
Finally, as much as I love this song, I ran over to the faction that says he shouldn´t play Hurt live anymore. I didn´t pull it off so well as at the gig in march in Berlin and the people were singing along so loud that I could hardly hear him – and they were filming all the time too which is annoying during this song. Are there not enough Hurt live videos in the world? And will there ever be any that is better than the official live video? I don´t think so.
Oh, and Trent was very quiet in the beginning and in the second part of the show he just wouldn´t stop talking. Did anyone understand what exactely he said after having got the T-Shirt from a fan?
Well, after all, I do understand now why fredy_brown posted after the German shows in march: "You German guys are insane crowders." You Czechs really are so polite I wouldn´t mind taking my four-year-old niece to a show in Prague. And my friend who came with me just to prove he was crazy enough to go to Prague just for one night to escape his small town live and who just started listening to NIN the day before the show is a huge fan now and called it "the best concert I´ve ever been to" :-) Yeah: Lift up the receiver I´ll make you a believer!
I so hope they come back next year as I can´t go to the shows to come because of work.

dunno what exactly he said bout the t-shirt but the final words were sth like "and it´s definitely used, too" so it must have been very smelly :)

anyway fckin good NIN show, i´ve never seen trent being that communicative and into the show before..

i was in the 3rd/4th row between aaron and trent with very good view..took some pics as well - http://ninczech.blog.cz/galerie/nine-in ... -13-8-2007
pictures from bratislava (the day before) are here...http://ninczech.blog.cz/galerie/nine-in ... -13-8-2007
not a very good quality, but some of them are quite OK :)

i also met polkata with her father and boyfriend, they were all very nice, but unfortunately we did´t get to the afterparty.. so i´m sending you my greetings to bulgaria and see you on next nin show!

And i have got Freese's drumstick (but from Bratislava) that my brother gave me after Prague show. That is really great honor to me, cause i am drumming too.
And Simona, friend of mine, has got Norths trsátko (i dont know how to say it in english and i am so lazy to find it on dictionary (yeah, i mean that shit which he plays guitar (no, i dont mean fingers (fcuk, if i had his finger (wooow)))).

Enjoy!
Thanks for the pictures, I was standing right behind you (the blonde guy in white nin t-shirt) and I would probably got that tambourine if it wasn't for you... But nevermind, enjoy it! ;)

The show was great and the band really seemed to enjoy it, which only made it better for the fans. I was a little bit scared that Trent would get pissed off as he almost got hit with a bottle during TBOTE but he was ok. And then when someone threw a t-shirt he grabbed it and made some witty remarks about it. Including smelling it and (probably) kissing it as well! Excellent! :D

I'm already looking forward to another chance to see NIN live.
Master of Achievement
I don´t remember him smelling/kissing that sweatshirt.

Fredy_Brown wrote:I don´t remember him smelling/kissing that sweatshirt.
He definitely did something like this with the t-shirt after examining it closely. At least that's what I saw standing in the second row ;)
Master of Achievement
Well, first he was like throwing it away, but then he lifted it up. That´s what I rememeber...and this is bitching anyway.
Master Traveler
He took a deep smell at it, I definitely saw it. His reaction was so different from the "What did you throw ..." part on Closure. I love seeing him kidding, gives me the impression that he actually feels good.
Master of the Ninth Arch
Probably one of the best NIN shows I've ever been to (and I've been to 9 this year). I still can't believe something like this could happen. It reminded me of the live footage on Closure...Chaotic, energetic, unbelievable really.

First the barricade thing, which happened so fast, and it shocked the security I think, haha. They tried but of course couldn't move it back...so they had to push/hold the barricade throughout the whole show. I've never seen something like this before. (I was in the 2nd row, in front of Trent, btw.) I thought Trent would stop the show until they fix/move back the barricade but he didn't. :)

Then, when the crowd got completely soaked with sweat (and the security couldn't give us water since they were busy holding up the barricade - plus watching for crowd surfers of course), the band started to throw us water bottles (like...10x more than usually). Once they even stopped the show, brought out their own cooler box (full of water bottles) and threw us those as well. It was really cool of them.

Because of the (lack of) security situation there was also a guy that somehow got out of the crowd in front of Aaron, and the local security didn't notice him, so someone from NIN's (I think Trent's) security guard had to catch him.

Also, the stage was so close that we could almost reach Trent when he came near the end of the stage. +He threw the mic into the crowd during Suck, and the crew/security was struggling for long to take it back from the fans. Btw, the same thing happened to Aaron, when he jumped out into the crowd. I think he's never spent so much time out in the crowd before. :D I think he also got scared that he won't be back on stage that soon like he usually does. Trent had to help and pull him back on the stage. It was awesome.

And, yeah Trent did kiss that t-shirt someone threw at him, although I couldn't hear his comment about it. Does anyone know what he said? And yes, I also saw things flying onto the stage: water bottles, and a key (???) too.

I really hope someone recorded this show, I _need_ to hear this whole thing again. Especially Trent's comments, as I couldn't understand everything from the 2nd row...

PS: I have no photos/videos, as I didn't even try to take out my digicam...but I don't care, I was there and that's perfectly enough! :D And I have one of TR's water bottle as a bonus, haha.

i'm home and it's time for a long-ass review of the show. because dianne wanted it ;] i'll do it in point-lines because that's the easiest way i can think of many many things.

- first of all, a huge thank you to the following people (in no particular order): sertse and vera (for the spiral entrance), polkata with the family, fredy_brown, the german girl and the SWE collective. i heart you. ya really.
- when the barrier broke, the first thing that popped my mind was roskilde festival 2000 during the pearl jam performance. and then i thought to myself "fuck it it's a nin show!" and all of the sudden got meathead's "kick the shit out at the concert" chart. and it worked, yes it did.
- the light curtain was awesome. the way "me, i'm not" kicked in.. man, i'm still getting chills. and for teh same reason i could not stop listening at that song on my way back home. only to think it's been one of the tracks i didn't really like at first. heh!
- as said before, the dandies were great. i might be one of the few people who thinks so but let it be.
- rob's been all fancy with his iphone but he did record most of the "me i'm not" with his hi-def cam. those videos might be somewhere posted already but.. i don't know, i just got home and i'm writing this. i'll check it when i'm done.
- "the great destroyer" (live) is a must see. great stuff.
- this has been the most violent nin show i've ever been to. then again, i've been expecting crowd like that in london and vienna but.. no luck, i guess.
- when trent caught t-shirt i was surprised he actually picked it up. i don't think he smelled it but he did try to look at it to see if it had any logos or anything written on it. but it was just plain black t-shirt. he did say "thank you" anyway. whatta lovely man.
- when the barrier broke he went to the end of the stage where barrier was the closest to the stage and started teasing people who just got even more crazy. which, of course, gave an additional headaches to the security people.
- the nin logo at the end of the show: ow mei gott!! i did see the shows end like that but.. seeing it live it's just something different.
- we caught two of jeordie's picks and a bottle of water aaron threw to people during one of trent's speeches.

i'm gonna go and check the pictures and videos now. if and when i see something else i or others haven't mentioned, i'll write some more.

It was my first NIN show and I'm amazed. That was real high-def ultra realism! Setlist was more than ok. New songs kick ass especially those with visuals - Me I'm Not and TGD were incredible! Old ones still feel fresh and are extremely powerful.

Like others before me already said: Trent was really enjoying the show and seem very happy, Aaron was totally crazy and landed in the crowd just 2 meters away from me - fuck!

We came from Poland because once again NIN didn't come to us. There is a big chance that we where the first NIN fans in that place :D We came there the day before the show just to see how to get there and ended up drink beer in a bar from which we got to see how the crew was setting up the stage from the very begging! hehehe.

Here you can see our photos including the building of the stage:

Or the girl who wrapped her arms around me during the last 2 songs? Where did you go?
Bricklayer
I have only just got back from Prague. I came over in search of a crowd that would do NIN proud, and on the 13th that crowd was in Prague.

The best NIN concert I have been to by a long way.

English crowds just stand and admire the music, but it is music that you need to move to and it was good to see that Trent was so happy with the crowd as well. I have never seen him ask for the house lights to come on just so he could thank the audience. If I remember rightly he said "you have been the best audience this tour, its nights like this that make it all worth while".

For everyone that was there I salute you, it made my birthday, on the 13th the most absolutely magic.

If anyone was by the mixing station I must say it was good to see that the sound engineer loved the music as much as the fans. He was going absolutely berserk.

After the show I was laughing and crying at the same time. In other words, I was in shock. I’ve never had that happen to me before. This was an extremely intense experience, something I have no words for.

I was at the railing and was very scared when it started moving. The part I was standing on was moving too, not as much as the middle, but anyway. I saw that the fences were not as strong/big/heavy as usually but I never expected anything like that. The crowd was in quite a chaotic state and SO intense! Seemed like everyone in the venue (except the security who battled with the fence) was in a great mood. At some point I started laughing at Jeordie's stare, couldn’t help it. I think he took a lot more eye contact with the crowd than in my other shows.

At some point there was a shirt thrown to the stage, and Trent did smell it. He even commented it: ”*something* used”, maybe definitely? Lots of thank yous to the crowd, he said it was by far the best night of the tour so far, and the best crowd. It was by far the best live show I’ve ever been to in my life!

When everything was over and the band had left the stage, I found myself hanging on the fence unable to move and not quite sure of what had just happened. Took me a while to get away from my spot. I was getting shivers, and as I said before, laughing and crying at the same time (just a few odd tears and silent laughter), I think I was frighteningly close to hysteria...

Ok. I think I’ve said too much.

I’m so happy I decided against all reason to travel to Prague. I met very special people and had such a wonderful time. Not just at the concert. You all know who you are. With all honesty I was very scared of meeting you all in real life, but it turned out more than well. I hope we can do this again sometime somewhere.

to all of you who heard the soundcheck: what did they play? i believe they played 3 songs - burn, the warning (never before performed live) and reptile..can someone confirm? or correct? i´d like to hear as many opinions as possible ;) :)

I definitely heard The Warning and was kinda surprised to hear that. Others I don’t remember, Burn probably but I’m not sure.

i am quite quite sure of burn and absolutely sure about reptile (as many people there were going like "For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen, reptile, that´s great we´re gonna see it live" etc., which actually didn´t happen in the end) but the warning was such a surprise to me that i was quite unsure....however, your post is pretty convincing to me ;) thanks..

i´ve already contacted him regarding the video, but no response yet...
Yeah I really think that was him because I remember that at the end of Hurt when the screen raised he still kept filming Trent only and I thought like, man you should film the whole stage. It looked just so atmospheric and the crowd was screaming that loud I got a freezing skin.

Naa I haven't. I met up with some others at the ETS meet up and so I missed soundcheck and I didn't even go through the spiral entrance although I'm a member. Silly me... But still I made to the second or third line. The crowd was pushing so hard I had to get back a few rows after the first half of the show just to stay alive. I really had lung problems from screaming and dancing.

yes, it was pretty tough there (3rd/4th row), but to be honest, it was like nothing compared to vienna this year(29th), where it was like survival challenges for me, not enjoying good music - but the prague show was imho way better than vienna this year in nearly all aspects

i heared the soundcheck & they played The Warning & Burn for sure...but i don't know about Reptile ...i hate this stupid waiter who held up our view:-(
Bricklayer
yeah.. burn, the warning and reptile for soundcheck.. I was not dissapointed to not hear the warning live because you could hear it pretty well outside the venue in the queue.. hehehe..

Hi guys, I have just registered as a new member. I was at the Prague's concert too. Basically, it was my firts big show ever and first NIN show too. I can't say anything else but AWESOME. During the entire show I was like almost crying and screaming at the same time, so strong my feelings were. The atmosphere was just amazing. Trent and all the other guys were absolutely GREAT GREAT GREAT. I hope they will really come soon as he promised. Now I gotta go and buy the rest of Halos. I still have almost ten pieces missing. I also plan to build better stereo system and connect it with my PC. I want some frickin' audiofil system so if you have any ideas I will appreciate it. Thx NIN and thx all the fans out there who made that show one of my unforgettable nights in my life. Take care

Yes it's good quality.Except one thing.

It's Bratislava not Prague.

Evidence:

-Trent during this recording thanks Noise Cut for the great support.
(In Prague there was Dandy Warhols supporting.)

-No "you are the best audience on this tour" talk, no enthusiasm as it was in Prague

the real Prague bootleg was posted here several posts ago (that 128kbps 50min poor quality one) ... Compare them - you'll hear the differences.
Bricklayer
All right I am uploading it to SendSpace I’ll post when it’s done.

You are right. I just started listening to it and when MOTP started I began to doubt my memories because I remember him saying "goddamn pigs, MARCH!" in Prague and on this bootleg it´s different words. Than I forwarded to the later speeches – it´s not Prague :-( But we have the other 50 minutes bootles from Prague with Trent´s speeches!

Sorry, but my connection can't handle this file. It transfers to some point and then stops. I tried several times yesterday with no luck. :(
