This was my first NIN show and I was blown a-effin-way. I was shocked when Reznor said they were having difficulties due to an MIA effects guy, 'cause I thought they were all pretty awesome. (I didn't have any other show for comparison, but hey.)
Thanks in advance to whoever posts the full set list. I usually keep them for shows I attend, but I couldn't this time around.

Crowd sucked. I've never said this before, but the crowd sucked. There was a dude dealing drugs next to me, there was a guy who was rolling bumping into me most of the night, a girl turned a spewed on most of the people near me, and there was a guy at the start of the show that was throwing up right next to me.
What the fuck?
I don't think I'll ever do another show in Nashville. Another reason to move.

You talking about the girl who was about 5' 3" and 300lbs?Ennuyant wrote:Was anyone else groped by the she-beast?
We were in between songs, and Trent said something to the effect of:
"I don't usually talk a lot onstage, but I have something on my mind. First of all, the guy who is in charge of all these visuals (motions to the screens) went missing today. This is serious. He went missing and nobody has heard from him, and nobody can find him, so we're winging it without him, but we're really just worried about him...so that's been on my mind tonight.
Secondly, some shithead motherfucker has been shining a red laserpen on me all night. Now, back in the day, I would have gotten upset, and told the crowd to find that stupid motherfucker and beat the fucking shit out of him. Now, though, I'll just let it go. That was then, this is now. So, instead of getting mad, I'll just say, if that guy is out there, and you know who he is, maybe you can get mad and beat the shit out of that stupid motherfucker.
I should stop swearing, because I have family in the audience. But fuck that motherfucker. Now for some more music."

I thought the crowd was good. They were going off to most of the songs and singing all the lyrics. Anyone see the drunk guy front right screaming Judas Priest? lol
set list was even weaker then I thought could happen. The few new songs I do like weren't even played (Me, Im not and Wretched) No reptile and no special songs from PHM or Downward Spiral. Ghosts were cool though it seemed a bit out of place
all in all i had a good time. First real concert I've been to in 10 years or thereabouts so it was fun. I won't go see them again unless they do a special tour of the back catalog like some other bands have done though.
I thought Health were very good.
I took a bunch of pics and video but they mostly suck

I didn't think I was gonna make it. Justin called upon his fro powers during Head Like a Hole and the whole left side of the pit started jumping. No joke either.

I think health was the worst band i have ever seen. I normally give opening acts the benefit of the doubt, but they were awful. I could have joined the band and not missed a step and I suck. It was just noise, but not good noise at all.

Just got back. Good show, yet not the strongest I have seen. Nevertheless, Trent and co never cease to amaze.
I can't believe it has really been 3 years since Nails was back at Gaylord.
The crowd was pretty calm, but it was by no means a bad show.
I couldn't stand HEALTH. Their first two songs were good, but me and my friend had to leave because it just became too much. I couldn't get into them.
The beginning of the set was probably the weakest part. I don't really love the Slip like I thought I did. 1000000 is a great opener, but the intensity of the album has worn off on me since then.
Overall, I'd give it a 7.5/10. Fantastic way to spend my Halloween. I do hope they turn it into a tradition like Trent said.

My arm is totally in those pics. Awesome.
This show was way better than Knoxville
Maybe the best NIN concert I've seen.

I got my presale ticket as soon as we got there, and promptly posted my ass with all the regular folk/non-"fanclub" people. I eventually went through the presale line when that part of the line was empty. I could have been near the front if I hustled my ass. Oh well. Oh yeah... did anyone see the black bootleg t-shirt guy out in the line? My friends payed $15 for a tour date shirt, and it was the old one. hahaha.
Anyway, fucking crazy concert. "March of the Pigs" had an insane moshpit that I got dragged into. Some girl kept dancing up on my right arm/thigh. Despite being a no smoking venue (apparently), there was alot of cigarettes being lit up, and pot as well, some real skunk shit.
Fuck the assholes during the Ghosts intermission that kept screaming "this isn't real music" and one guy who kept doing death metal growls. My only real complaint is the redneck fucks and the people who moshed during songs like the Greater Good. Seriously, what the fuck?
Oh, and I don't know if they post here, but I know they do on nin.com's forums... I walked right past Master Shake and a girl in Plano riot gear. Even got a picture of Master Shake Guy from a few feet away before Health started up.

An open letter to the assholes who dragged me to the floor over a tambourine and to the asshole who ended up with it:
Dear Assholes and Specifically, Asshole who ended up with my tambourine,
For the last half of the show, I was on the rail directly in front of Trent. After God Given, I hollered at Trent to throw me his tambourine. He pointed at me and tossed it directly to me. It landed in my hands, but immediately after I caught it, someone grabbed it, dragged me down to the floor, and knocked several people over. I lost my precious tambourine, busted my lip, and left very disappointed.
After the show, I saw you. You! With MY tambourine. I cursed you. I hate you. I hope you lose that goddamn tambourine and die in a fiery car accident. THIEF!
-Joan

Yeah, that was insane. I ended up moving back a little later because I almost lost one of my shoes while that was going on.cicatriz wrote: Anyway, fucking crazy concert. And to the person who asked, yeah, t-shirt guy's deal was way too suspicious. I walked over to the venue and got there around 6:40, and he was hocking them for $15. When I left the venue (holding the poster I bought, clearly showing I'd been to the merch table), he came up and tried to sell them for $10. Persistent fellow.

Hey guys, First NIN concert I have ever been to and I had a blast. Wild shit about the screen and missing tech but overall the show was everything I had imagined it would be.
Music was incredible and the effects second to none but as always with any crowds there were quite a few retards. To the poster earlier who threw up all of his pictures, Thank you very much I was hoping to get ahold of some quality pictures and those were quite good. Looking forward to any others you guys might have taken! Btw, Sorry to hear about the person who got the tamborine hijacked from them..That was pretty shitty.
TwilightExplosion, You said you have red and black hair. Are you also like 8 ft tall? I saw someone there with that particular hue of hair and at 6'3 I thought it was interesting to see someone at the concert taller than me haha.
Take it easy guys.

I loved it. A little bummed with the setlist. I felt like we were going to get The Wretched. But nope..
Kinda wish I didn't dress up. I just ended up sweating all my makeup off. And
looked like a big mess when I went out later.
Some of the people that were dressed up were funny. Those dorky basketball player guys cracked me up.
That was strange how they had everybody sitting down before the show like it was an elementary school assembly.

I was over in the section Trent shined the lights on, what did he say that sent the lights in our direction?
Compared to the knoxville concert, the crowd was shit in the pit. Everyone around me was just STANDING there during march of the pigs. What the hell.
Concert was great anyways.
Concert was great anyways.
[/quote]gladcarrot wrote:Could someone who went to the show clean up this setlist, especially the ghosts songs? Thanks.
Yes, I'm waiting for the same thing. Thanks in advance.
The only thing with which I can definitely help is that the last two songs before the encore were "The Hand That Feeds" followed by "Head Like a Hole." Killer back-to-back combo.

I think God Given came before The Good Soldier.
I saw a guy with a printed setlist, but didn't get one myself this time.
I had a good time, the band was great - but the crowd generally sucked, but for different reasons that other people have posted. (I've yet to be vomited on!)
Just before they let the presale people in, there was only approximately 200 people there in total. There were supposed to be 450 GA presale, but once the presale people were in, there were only 2 rows of people, far less than usual. By the time the band came on, it looked like there were a lot more, i guess because of costumes people came later than usual.
Also probably because of costumes, the pit was weak. I'm barely sore, with no bruises at all - poor form nashville.
I think i saw ONE crowd-surfer during the whole night, although that may have just been someone getting pulled out
It was pretty cool that the radio station had a costume contest, too bad people didn't know about it ahead of time, or more people would have dressed up.
Pretty pathetic that some random goth chick won it, but whatever.
I doubt my chicken suit would have won (had I still been wearing it - security told me to take it off) but I don't want to go backstage with the groupies anyway.
Shame about the screen tech guy going missing. (I figured he screwed something up and was hiding in fear/shame)
edit : No, i was right, that's exactly what he said
http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=NZ9QrwogGPE
hopefully the guy got dealt with anyway - poor luck for anyone else who happened to have a laser pointer on them!
And poor Josh during Echoplex! It seemed like they managed to reboot the screen part-way during the song, too bad they didn't just fill with a solo until they'd fixed it and have Josh start over.
Lucky that they could just start the full loop - I guess they never thought about skipping the screen graphics straight to a full setup pattern.
I guess this shows proves that the new Big Come Down screen is here to stay - maybe one day someone can ask Trent what happened to the real swinging lights.
Sorry i didn't pay particular attention to the Ghosts tracks gladcarrot.
19 and 31 were there, as usual - I was too busy enjoying the first two to even pay attention to which graphics were playing!
Re: The Wretched, I called it being straight to Closer, but I only get it right half the time. I noted that the light screen lowered during The Frail, and at the next two shows i see, i'll hope for The Wretched to see if the light setup is different that with Closer
Was it just me or were the survivalism screens more blocky than usual?
Pretty cool of Trent to let Health use the cameras/screens for their show.
Thanks bryan987 for those pics!
And three cheers of the venue staff for getting people to sit.
I hate when venues don't do that - I always try to sit down, but the unwashed masses never care for it.
After a few hours in line, and with hours of standing/jumping to come, why wouldn't you want to sit down while you can?
You said "For the last half of the show, I was on the rail", the girl in front of you - who told me she had been there since 5:30 AM (that's 13 hours before you) - told the security guy she wanted out part way through during God Given. Since when is 3 songs "half the show"?
Trent did not point at you. Take your greed and delusions someplace else.
Too bad the girl in front of you didn't stay, she deserved to get it a lot more than you.
I hear she also didn't get to take part in the backstage-pass costume contest because venue staff made her put part of her costume back in her car before going through the pat-down.
VVV - I guess the crowd just varied a lot from side to side!
Colds are caught from people, not temperature, and with all the people in the pit, i'm sure a few germs were spread around. free souvenir!

Yeah, atleast from my position on the floor (I could have thrown something onto the stage with ease), I only saw maybe 3 crowd surfers. One was right infront of me to my right, and everyone that was holding him threw him to the left and no one caught him. Credit to that guy though, he got right back up and got into a pit.
I listened to the Ghosts track that were played at the show before last night's, and they don't sound like what was played last night. I wish I knew, though, because the one with Justin on stand up bass is fuckin' groove if I ever heard one.
I don't know if it was the pit you were around, or maybe because I'm fat and can't handle things, but my body was sore as hell last night after the show due to the pit I was infront of. They tossed people into my shoulders and lower back like it was nothing. And to top it off, I somehow came down with a cold, despite it not even being close to cold outside last night.

Listen, asshole. I'm not delusional or greedy. I was amazed by it too. I'm sorry it's hard for you to believe that someone standing standing 15 feet in front of Trent could ask him for something, be heard, and have that request answered. Especially considering that tambourine landed in my hands but was ripped out by the GREEDY bastards around me.nympholept wrote:

And as for the girl that "deserved it... more." i hardly think someone who stands on the rail looking incredibly bored the whole time and didn't so much as bob her head along with the music deserved it.
And sorry I didn't get there at 5:30 AM, but I have this thing, it's called a life. Sorry you must feel like a giant idiot sitting out in the cold all day when people who love NIN just as much and get there 13 hours after you manage to get up front.
Sorry to the admins for posting mean shit here that should be taken care of in PMs, but nympholept started it. He's also PMing me bullshit but I've chosen to ignore it now that I know he's a prick. I'll not say anything more about it.
Dickface.

delusional = believing that 3 songs is half the show. AND thinking Trent was pointing specifically at you.
greedy = wanting something you're not entitled to.
Not only are you a liar, but you are clearly just making stuff up. So why would anyone believe that Trent pointed at you or threw the tambourine specifically for you?
However, the PM has moved from my outbox into the sentbox, so I know you've read it. Again you prove you're a liar!
That PM, for reference, because I am telling the truth and have nothing to hide:

I never said I sat out in the cold all day, I said I arrived at the venue before you did, and spoke to the people at the front of the line.jptucker wrote:Sorry you must feel like a giant idiot sitting out in the cold all day

The way you're carrying on about missing out on the tambourine, it certainly doesn't sound like it!but I have this thing, it's called a life.
I sent you a PM as a courtesy to let you know that i had replied here. He's also PMing me bullshit but I've chosen to ignore it now that I know he's a prick.

PM from nympholept to jptucker wrote:Just checking who you were, because i was in the pit near you, and talked to most of the people on the rail while they were in line before you even got there.
All the other people around you on the rail got there at 5am, it figures that the only person whining is the one that didn't even belong there.

Take it to the shitlist or keep it in PMs, nympholept and jptucker.

I'm sure you meant to direct that warning only at jptucker, because rational arguments are not welcome in the shitlist, and sending a PM doesn't let everyone else know that jptucker's statement is a lie.

As well as pointless.nympholept wrote:jptucker's statement is a lie.

^^^^Okay, how about we get back to the show? Thanks.^^^^
I had an amazing time. Like some others I was a little disappointed in the setlist, but it's all good. I was incredibly happy just to be at my first NIN concert ever.
The technical mishaps didn't bother me, I loved the music. I noticed how pissed Trent was since I was on the rail by Robin, but it turned out to be a good thing because he put a lot of that anger into the performance. March of the Pigs was crazy.
I loved Robin's mask! hahaha excellent.
About 3/4 into the show, Robin took a swig of one of his water bottles and I knew he was going to throw it. I was right in front of him and got his attention, he looked directly at me and tossed it into my waiting hands. Now I know it's just a water bottle, but a souvenir is a souvenir, okay? We had a moment, too. Shut up haha.
Sucks about the laser pointer asshole, I hope he got throat AND kidney-punched.
I'll be posting pics and short vids soon, watch out!
