I thought that show blew the last one I saw (Toronto in August) out of the water. The crowd was better, the floor was packed, the energy level much higher ...
Then again, hubby thought the exact opposite, so I'm interested to see what others have to say.

OK let me start by saying I absolutely love NIN; in fact I have been and still am a huge fan since the earl 90’s
BUT…
God Damn it Trent, would it have killed you to play the same setlist as Montréal? Granted the show was awesome and so much better than Toronto back in August but still… FUUUUCK!!!!
My gut told me to go back to my home town of Montréal to see the show and I should have – God knows the first show I ever saw back in 1995 was mind blowing. I guess it was too much to ask for them to play Reptile at the very least….

Similar setlist to that of Toronto earlier this year... minus God Given. That was a little disappointing, I was looking forward to Reptile!
But, all in all, good show. I will have to agree, the floor was much more energetic this time around.

Indeed far, far better than the Toronto show. Felt sorry for the two fellows in front of me who basically held me up for the first half of the show. My lower back gave out a few days after I purchase the tickets, and the only way I could deal with the pain was drinking a bottle of Tequila and some beer. Tylenol 3 which can be nice did not help on any level. The Tequila did help me to stand, but not very stable or straight. Any way to the two fellows wait 20 years or so and see how you do at a show not unlike NIN with a bad back. And if you’re not happy with me, well then fuck ya!
Great show fantastic energy despite my pain. All in all far better than the Toronto show this past summer. Can’t wait until NIN returns to our neck of the woods. Hope my back is in shape when NIN returns.

Not sure i agree at all about the energy level compared to Toronto. But my perception could be entirely coloured by the fact that I was in an completely different part of the arena. In Toronto I was in the front row on the floor and this time I was in the front row of seats. Energy at the front was sooo much higher; it was like a drug. Folks tonight were bopping their heads and a few were singing, but I had a good view of the crowd and there were far fewer surfers than Toronto.
You were right on both counts. It was an interesting experience, I did really enjoy seeing the show. I would have been very disappointed if I'd never stood back and focused on the visuals. But I missed the front. I missed the camaraderie of sharing the experience with people who love the music as much as I do.

Man, be glad you picked this show to sit back! Even during Ghosts people were crushing me (in front of Trent, as always), and I almost had to get pulled a few times. Ghosts 31! I knew there was a Ghost missing from Eskimo's setlist, but I couldn't remember which one we'd heard. Duh.

I love Ghost Piggy! First time I saw it this summer I was like, "he's hiding himself behind the screen for Piggy, goddamn it, he used to do it front and centre!" But I really appreciate the changes he's made to the musical arrangement of that song. Really breathed some new life into it, IMO.
Also really interesting new visuals for Closer. Using the ultra close up camera reinstated a level of creepiness to the song that ought to be there. In its live presentation it's become all about the sex with that song, but this puts back the insects.

I think Ghosts Piggy is really cool, but it loses the organ line in the second verse which is probably my favourite part of the song.
Was there, had a good time, kinda got wrecked because I didn't eat all day. I persevered almost until the very end, but I started dry heaving and so I decided that I should probably go get some water.

I guess I'm glad I got to hear Reptile at the Los Angeles show. I will admit, like many here, that the only complaint I have is that the setlist was very similar to the first time around in Toronto.
However, the rest of the show was top notch. No technical issues like the first time around in Toronto either. Trent was far more on game and it was great to see Robin and JMJ playing together so much!
The changes to the visual show are minimal, but still very cool to see. I LOVED the visuals during Ghosts 31. The blue, the smoke images. It just looked gorgeous.
I have to say energy wise for the crowd - not too high. I had seats this time, and very close to the stage, but the crowd enthusiasm didn't match even the CA shows I attended. (I am comparing because I had seats for those shows too)
As an aside, it was weird to get in the car and find some radio stations starting to play Christmas music..
Well now on to Grand Rapids! And this time I am GA again, so dammit, I'm going to try my best to be on the rail. Because it is there where you do feel most connected.

^^^^I was @ the corner waiting for a friend, so I didn't see it happen but was there when the cops, etc came. I hope she's ok.
There were minor blips here and there. For example, during vessel, there was a section of lights behind Trent that didn't turn off with the rest of the lights and later turned off on their own. I'm not sure if you mean the floor or not, but the floor was fairly energetic (my bleeding toe says hi). I'm not too into moshing and avoided most of the pit startups, so this says something about the energy level. Tonight was my last night on this crazy trip that started in Atlantic City. I've become addicted to the rail (partly because of all the great people I've met and hung out with.) I have to say, tonight was the most brutal -- I came away with bruises up and down the bottom of my arms, though I'm not sure a lot of it is due to the security guards. Can you *please* lift people instead of just dragging them over us? Lazy, dense or just assholes who don't give a shit? Meh. Otherwise, the brutal was all in good fun. It was like a trash compactor in there.
And TR cracked me up with the ass-wiggling tonight -- twice he turned around and played with his back to us while shaking it. Hee.
The only bad thing of the night... I heard that Boris played a solo show in Toronto last night... for two hours. *crushed*
I almost didn't do all these shows because of some looming layoffs at my company in the next couple of weeks -- I was just going to do AC and Hamilton and skip the ones in the middle -- but I'm so glad I decided "fuck it" and decided a week of fun was worth it... because it soooo was! I highly recommend saving up vacation time and money if you can. It's not something I'll likely ever be able to do again, though if he did a club tour with varied setlists he might be able to convince me to figure it out...

The driver wanted to leave, security didn't let him. Last I heard about the girl, was that she had a scratch. But was alert giving her name, where she was, where she was from and even where she parked her car.
Right before it happened, she had asked the security guard beside me where a bathroom was.

I had to laugh though, because in both Terrible Lie & Wish, he fucked up the lyrics. Started to sing a line that he had already sung. Two songs in a row, I thought it was funny.

Yeah also Robin, Justin and Josh were at the Mod Club in Toronto on Thursday hanging out with Melissa Auf de Mar and Martin Streek (so I was told, anyways - more on him later). Wouldve been fucking cool to have hit that show but I was still on my way back from Montreal.
Anyways on to the show, I will have to say that out of the 6 LITS shows I went to this tour, this one was by far the worst.
I dont mean that I didnt have a good time, or the band sounded off, or there was anything production wise that wasnt effective, or the crowd was shit.
It was just...the EXACT same fucking show that I saw on August 5th. Drop Corona Radiata intro, swap 6 Ghosts with 17 Ghosts, and DROP God Given. Other than that it was a carbon copy. I have been one to complain about setlists like many others, but heres my specific issue in regards to this show: It is one thing to play a set, and keep it pretty much the exact same all tour. Hit your markets, and 95% of the people wouldnt know that the show was the same, and even if they did chances are its still their first time experiencing it. Sucks for people who hit multiple shows, but they cant possibly cater to that audience.
But when you come back to the SAME market, and play the exact same show with two months time, its just reaks of not caring or trying, or being extremely naive. A very large percent of the people at the ACC show were at this show. Does Trent honestly just not care that people paid to see the same show twice? I found it pretty ironic that right before The Good Soldier he made some speech about how much he appreciates people coming out every night, etc. Then he was like, I'm gonna play something from Year Zero. We fucking KNOW its from Year Zero (if we didnt already - which you obviously should but still), because you played it in the encore last time!
I just cant wrap my head around his mindset here. One of the big reasons I respect Trent is because of the respect he has for his fans in terms of assuming they are actually intellegent. This just seems entirely counter productive to that. Do you think he remembers that he played The Good Soldier in his encore the last time, or does he just not think about that stuff? Did he do it on purpose to prove a point? Or does he honestly believe he's playing to a new audience? I simply cannot figure this out and it bugs me to no end.
And the show finished at 10:40pm. What the fuck? Its not like songs were dropped or there were time constraints.
Ottawa and Montreal were pleasant surprises but this.. just seemed like an insult to my intelligence to be honest.
The show was great otherwise, and I would I go back in a few months and see the EXACT same show again? Yeah, for sure I would. But it just makes me question things, thats all. And it will never stop being frustrating.
Ps. Martin Streek called the Montreal show the best show he'd ever been to, period. Better than Nirvana. Better than QOTSA at Lee's Palace with Dave Grohl. Better than Tool. Better than any other NIN show he'd been to in the past 10 years plus. (seriously. I mean it was a great show, but fucking RELAX). Anyways, this was that shaved head guy on the survivalism cam beside the soundboard next to the guy with no shirt on rocking out, and he didnt even move a muscle. Which is fine if thats how he rocks out, but he looked so bored on camera that more than once he pulled out his phone and checked the fucking time. This guy is officially a douche in my mind, and the book on that is now closed.

Great show. Trents' voice was much better than TO. Band was better. Audience was better. The place was standing. No one stood in TO and it felt wrong. Setlist was the same though. If you're gonna drop Godgiven why not add Wretched or Reptile. Just one? Please? Shit, Ottawa got Meet Your Master and Wretched. Damn. Glad to hear Vessel again. When that song came out I really wanted to see how they could do it live. It's perfect. One of my favourites. Anyway..

Crowd was ok. The first 15 or so rows were pretty crazy for around the first 5 songs.
I was between Justin and Trent, about 5 (give or take) rows back when it started, but as the show progress i moved back a little.
I couldnt make it to the Toronto show, so i cant compare. But this show, I thought there was kinda a lot of meat heads. I noticed, There were a couple of dudes who were just trying to start random fights...Typical shit really, a lot of people trying to move in front of you before they came on...
And I'm not a big fan of crowd surfers, during march of the pigs i got fucking elbowed in the back of the head. I literally blacked out for like 3 seconds...I kinda was in a daze during that song...
I probably could of gotten closer to the stage, and to The Rez (even though we were like 5 rows back). But after a while i just got sick of it little, so i stepped back a little(i was fine with it at the time),...Mainly because i wanted to enjoy the light show, with out dealing with the shit.
I wish people would stfu during the ghosts songs....I heard one dude yell out "hurry Up!" and "next!"....
But with all that bitching being said, a lot of this stuff is pretty typical for an arena show
Anyways, It was a great show. Lights were incredible! The ripple in the water during 17 was great..
I wish they would of done reptile or the wretched, but oh well.....I also got a little dazed out during terrible lie, big come down and only...But i was looking around at the screen that was on top of them during TL, so I was more mesmerized then dazed (maybe it was the weed)...I was checking out the pretty colors. Just taking it all in...sometimes you have to do that at a show...

I dont mean that I didnt have a good time, or the band sounded off, or there was anything production wise that wasnt effective, or the crowd was shit.
It was just...the EXACT same fucking show that I saw on August 5th. Drop Corona Radiata intro, swap 6 Ghosts with 17 Ghosts, and DROP God Given. Other than that it was a carbon copy. I have been one to complain about setlists like many others, but heres my specific issue in regards to this show: It is one thing to play a set, and keep it pretty much the exact same all tour. Hit your markets, and 95% of the people wouldnt know that the show was the same, and even if they did chances are its still their first time experiencing it. Sucks for people who hit multiple shows, but they cant possibly cater to that audience.
But when you come back to the SAME market, and play the exact same show with two months time, its just reaks of not caring or trying, or being extremely naive. A very large percent of the people at the ACC show were at this show. Does Trent honestly just not care that people paid to see the same show twice? I found it pretty ironic that right before The Good Soldier he made some speech about how much he appreciates people coming out every night, etc. Then he was like, I'm gonna play something from Year Zero. We fucking KNOW its from Year Zero (if we didnt already - which you obviously should but still), because you played it in the encore last time!
I just cant wrap my head around his mindset here. One of the big reasons I respect Trent is because of the respect he has for his fans in terms of assuming they are actually intellegent. This just seems entirely counter productive to that. Do you think he remembers that he played The Good Soldier in his encore the last time, or does he just not think about that stuff? Did he do it on purpose to prove a point? Or does he honestly believe he's playing to a new audience? I simply cannot figure this out and it bugs me to no end.
And the show finished at 10:40pm. What the fuck? Its not like songs were dropped or there were time constraints.
Ottawa and Montreal were pleasant surprises but this.. just seemed like an insult to my intelligence to be honest.
The show was great otherwise, and I would I go back in a few months and see the EXACT same show again? Yeah, for sure I would. But it just makes me question things, thats all. And it will never stop being frustrating.
Ps. Martin Streek called the Montreal show the best show he'd ever been to, period. Better than Nirvana. Better than QOTSA at Lee's Palace with Dave Grohl. Better than Tool. Better than any other NIN show he'd been to in the past 10 years plus. (seriously. I mean it was a great show, but fucking RELAX). Anyways, this was that shaved head guy on the survivalism cam beside the soundboard next to the guy with no shirt on rocking out, and he didnt even move a muscle. Which is fine if thats how he rocks out, but he looked so bored on camera that more than once he pulled out his phone and checked the fucking time. This guy is officially a douche in my mind, and the book on that is now closed.
I couldn't agree more. I really don't want to think he doesn't care but last night's set list was weak. He at least could've given us one of great songs he played in Montreal like Me I'm Not, TGD, The Wretched or Reptile - at the very least we should've gotten Reptile!

From what I can tell there are 2 setlists that they swap between. It was almost the same as the toronto show back in Aug, and the New Jersey show later in Aug was almost the same as the Toronto show as well - except they added Reptile. the Piladelphia show the next night was really different, they added The Great Destroyer, The Wrteched, Me I"m Not and probably 5-6 other songs that I"m too tired to remember right now. I went to the Ottawa show and it was the same setlist as Hamilton, but the Montreal setlist the next night was very similiar to the philadelphia show. It seams like they didn't really change the set up too much from the first leg - they just alternate between 2 setlists, that really only vary by about 5 songs.
Regardless, they could read the phone book and I'd be happy. Was really hoping for Starfuckers, which seamed like a possibility since some of the shows earlier on the 2nd leg got it... but really - I was just happy to be there.
I find it too hard to compare the crowd from seats. I finally got front row almost in front of Trent in Montreal - 5 hrs waiting in the freeseing cold and it was so worth it - and I thought that was the most crazy intense I've experienced. Even Trent said it was the best crowd in a long time. From seats It's hard to gage the crowd. I was just as into the show in hamilton as i was in montreal - but in montreal I was jumping and screaming along - and in hamilton I was much more reserved. It really depends on the energy that you feed off those around you. It always surprises me how people use the Ghosts stuff to go for beer and to sit and talk to their friends - why do people come to concerts to talk over the music? I think Ghosts is so brilliant and intense...

Setlist was exactly the same as my last show, Cleveland, minus God Given and Reptile. So you can imagine i'm not as happy about this show. And I hurt more than I ever have, I swear I nearly passed out a few times because the crowd was CONSTANTLY pushing and surging, even during Ghosts! Yeah, that's what I get for being right infront of Trent, 2 people back. Some drunk asshole was directly behind me, screaming the wrong words into my ear, resting his head on my shoulder and pushing my head with his at times. I kpet asking him if he was ok and if he needed out, a few times he'd say yes but we couldn't get security to come over and help him up. Then he'd say "i'm fine" and rest his head on me again. There was a group of very freshman-from-college dumbasses next to me that liked embarrassing their female friend by screaming things to her and singing to her while we waited for nails. I'm guessing they hadn't been to a show before, because they sure didn't know how to act once NIN came on. Especially the one whose idea of "moshing" (one person back from the rail mind you) was to pound on the guy infront of him and headbang into their head. Yes, pound. As in put both arms together, make fists, and wait away on them. I kept smacking him and telling him to quit being an asshole, eventually he stopped.
Boris was AWESOME. Not what I expected at all. The drummer was a japanese human version of Animal from The Muppets. He was VERY cartoonish, making faces at us, flailing around. And then jumping off the drum set, I loved him. Best opener I've seen for NIN (not counting Peaches because I had a seat and couldn't fully enjoy her).
Josh went CRAZY with a drum solo during Piggy. HE BETTER COME BACK because that was the most insane thing i've ever seen/heard.
I totally dazed out during Survivalism, the screen below the people having sex was I'm guessing infront of the soundboard? There was a chick with a chest bigger than mine (DDD), jumping up and down infront of the camera. So mesmerizing. I was waiting for one (or both) to just pop out. XD
Ugh, more memories as I remember them. YAY I GOT DEMON SEED SHIRT! Boo all they had was XL and S
Oh, and it was my friend's first show, ever, for anything. He loved it. He only knew 4 songs, but he loved it. We'll be back next show that's close enough, next time WITH my girl.

To start, the GA definitely had more energy than the Toronto show in August, - I am so sore today. My jaw got hit, my spine is in pain, and my upper arms are brusied. We typically stayed in the mosh area behind the crush, which is probably why I hurt everywhere. The crowd, at least from the GA point of view, was much more energetic and into the music this show.
I was highly impressed with Boris! My friend and I went out for bubble tea afterwards, and when we explained our gross appearance to the owner, he said he was at their Toronto show the night before, and had a great time.
I agree with selfdestructionisart, the setlist was almost a carbon copy of Toronto's. Normally I don't bitch about familiar setlists, because I know the production that goes into every song, but I wish Trent would have considered how close Hamilton is to Toronto, and that many of the fans had seen the Toronto show only 3 months ago.
Oh well, I still danced my heart out to Terrible Lie (always my favourite live) and The Big Come Down. I really did have a great night, and tried to enjoy it to the fullest because I don't know if Trent will ever tour again.

Didn't make it to TO, so I can't compare. I found this to be not my favourite setlist ever BUT still good. Would have loved more from broken and the wretched but ... I had decent seats, and for the first time a 5'1" Minifig was able to SEE nine inch nails, instead of hearing them and seeing the back of some dude. That was nice!
I'm a multimedia nerd by trade and passion so the light show just blew my effing mind. Friggin' music generated content and vice versa?? loved it. Totally worth it.

Such a small setlist compared to the other shows. I agree with everyone saying that this was a carbon copy of Toronto show. It really was minus God Given and a few more. Weirdly, others thought the show was long and they were delighted that it finished since they were all dying in the pit. ALOT of people in the front of pit left due to dehydration. After seeing 5 or 6 people leave, I decided to make some space for all the short girls on my right. I jokingly said to one girl that she won't survive tonight and weirdly enough after giving a tough battle, she finally quit before the end of HLAH. Production wise, the only thing missing were The Big Comedown florescent tubes. I remember that in Toronto show it was present but this time they used the visuals to present it. That said, it was an amazing show and an amazing crowd (though they all had the tendency to "stick"). I had more room in Toronto show than Hamilton.
Shout out to all the Montreal Canadiens fans @ Hamilton who appreciated my love.
Also, I was the only one to recognize Rob Sheridan so I called out to him and shook his hand while the band played Discipline.

The Closer video footage is not pre-recorded. lol well me and my cousin saw somebody get tazed. idk why thou, ok we were standing at the bottom of the escalators and i see this guy laying on the normal stairs and im like uh oh somebody is hurt, and my cousin is like no they just haing out and im like uh no theres a medic dude by him. so our assumption is that he maybe like fell or something cuz he was drunk, soo the cops eventually come and they talk to him then my cousin hears a noise and sees sparks!!! and they tazered the dude lol he was big too. see thats why i think like its kinda dumb to have like alcohol in those places its just an accident waiting to happen. this was my first concert and it was amazing it makes me love nin even more.
i also heard by a few security guys that nin was doing a meet n greet and autographs so i got my slip album and my metallic sharpie but then i found out you had to be a spiral member or have a backstage pass damnit. kinda makes me mad because i drove 2 hours waited for Boris and paid money for merch and the tix and pay for gas and food, i love nin and i woulda been sooo greatful if i could get a fucking atuograph is that so hard to ask? well thats life i suppose.i wish they would come closer to like to HSBC arena or like clubs in buffalo that would be sweet.

Yeah they need to come here, it will be 9 years in 09 since their last performance here. Ditto. Went to all three. I thought it was cool that Montreal show went well. I think the band was just in a better mood. Hamilton sucked for charging me $20 to park my car.

The entrance I went in, had a sign up at the street that said maximum $9 for 12 hours, but once we pulled in, and were unable to leave, there was another sign that said $20.Ditto. Went to all three. My (late) two cents:
-- as noted, set list similar to Toronto's August date. Solid set, but selfishly would have liked to hear a couple other songs in there that are being played on this tour as I've yet to hear them live
-- parking ... folks, don't take the first lot you see in Hamilton. They try to scam you on event nights worse than in Toronto. Look for a commonly used lot and you'll have better luck as they usually have standard pricing. I parked in the garage about 1 minute walk down the street for $7.
-- crowd energy seemed much higher to me than the August Toronto show, with the exception of the Ghosts segment. People around me on the floor seemed to treat that as a time for loud conversations, disregarding those of us that cared about the entire concert. Also, the floor seemed to have a bigger "pit" and more of the younger crowd in it. There were definitely a few annoyingly drunk/high people too. Crowd was certainly quicker to engage in the compulsory hand/clapping when prompted.
-- TR and the band seemed to have a comfortable vibe for the night. A few hiccups here and there as people have noted, but I personally think those things add character and a bit more depth to the show which is important. It makes it real and personal.
-- Visuals. Stunning and brilliant as always. Liked some elements from the earlier part of the tour better, but the changes this time around were welcomed. Interesting to see how things have evolved.

Yeah, Kid seemed cool and all, but i was trying to hear/watch.
And I didnt even notice the kid till that point, I was trying to totally focus on the stage (the band, the lights), the whole show..

Not really exciting, the visuals are too much, too many gimmics , Songs remain the same
I knew the set would be similar to Toronto but I was hoping for some sort of excitement.
I was hoping to pick up some sort of tour book or program, no luck. There were no great t shirts ether and I always grab a NIN shirt, not this time.
The With Teeth tour was better, in fact With Teeth is a much better album than Ghosts, The Slip , and Year Zero.
Maybe I am getting old, or tired of NIN, I was so bummed out when they didn't play the Wretched. And after Wish and Terrible Lie, Survival- ism was weak....
Opening of this tour is so boring with The Slip stuff. I like this album but it doesn't make the transition live.
I miss Aaron cause Robin and this band is boring. They are tight but don't have the usually NIN stage presence.
I didn't enjoy the Year Zero DJ stuff in front of the stage, lacked intensity.
Like watching someone play a video game. Maybe if they played Me I'm Not or Capital G
Ghosts material was cool, but an arena in Hamilton isn't the best venue for this material, and I got distracted by an annoying drunk idiot.
Nice to see Trent trying his best, but this set list is too various to hit it's mark, jumps around trying to please.
Funny how the crowd roars to life with MOTP and Closer. But these were highlights for me also. All the earlier material came to life. I really wanted to hear Reptile or Sin or Love is Not Enough.
I always enjoy Terrible Lie, and I thought the encore was great, except for Echo Plex. In this Twilight is a great song. Too bad the rest of this show wasn't up to my high standards of a great NIN show.
I would have to say the best NIN shows in recent memory were the show in London Ontario, and the club show at the Kaul Hause, or whatever they call that place.
I think trent was trying to top the Fragility tour with this tour but not even close. That band was insanely exciting to watch.
I enjoyed the Toronto show a couple of months ago, even with Trent's voice blown. But this tour on second view was kind of second rate.
I am hanging up my NIN dancing shoes for a while.
I don't really want more year zero video game music, but a solid Nine Inch Nail rock masterpiece.
I think I want to listen to some happy music for awhile, at least until my first born is ....... born in the spring.
Best show I saw this year was Ministry in Toronto. That was there last tour, I hope when Trent plays his final shows he can go out blazing and not coasting.
The club show in New Jersey was probably great, I would have loved to see Trent's band in Europe last year before Year Zero, no light show just great music. I think production is important at a NIN show but not this important (if you know what I mean)

Interesting comments from Patrick; someone who actually really doesn't like the production. Although I disagree completely..
I found the old staples like HLAH and Terrible Lie to be rather boaring. It might just be cause' i'm young and love the new stuff but I was so excited to see the new songs on the setlist this tour.
I love the old hard hitting NIN rock style, but its just that, old NIN. I'd love another Downward spiral any time, but I find the new stuff so much more fresh to watch. You can tell they're loving it when you watch them rocking out to a new song.
I saw the With_Teeth tour in London & @ the Amphetheatre. I thought those shows were wicked, but if anything I'd say that Trent was trying real hard to give the shows the crazy emotional feel on that tour. I dunno if the new line-up has a better chemestry or what, but it seems like it to me!
