Ow. That mosh pit was fucking mental. Props to the metal chick in the black tank top with the cleavage ;-)

God Given, Reptile, MOTP, Gave Up, Echoplex, Vessel (fuckin' ay on visuals), In This Twilight, Hurt, HLAH, 9..., 1...., Discipline, Letting You, Survivalism (oddly, the pit was more mental for this than Gave up).

I think I sprained something, but I won't be sure until morning.

No surprises in the setlist, but a good show. Just before Hurt, Trent made a remark about feeling shy and not wanting to talk much.

this was my 7th NIN show, and I'd say the best of the bunch (and that includes the Coachella '05 and Lollapalooza '91 performances). The light show defies description. Trent sounded good...very very little evidence of any vocal problems.

Oh wow...it was aweosme indeed. First NIN concet and first official concert for me so...this was pretty big. WARNING was insane!

Me and my friend left after HLAH to avoid traffic. Sucks we missed the encore. Those songs would have been incredible! REPTILE!?!?!

Any idea where a audio recording leak would be announded? Any chance of getting a soundboard?

Damn.

That's really all I can say.

My review.

As I waited 45 MINUTES FOR OVERPRICED MERCH I began to hear a godawful noise. What could this god awful roaring noise be? Why, it's A PLACE TO BURY STRANGERS! Total Sonic Annihilation. More like Total Sonic Asswiping Shit. Perhaps the WORST opening act I've ever seen and the WORST music I've ever heard. The band was nothing but an ugly mess of noise with no chords, too much distortion, and the worst vocal mix ever. No clue what song they tried to cover at the end of their set, but it was hideous.

And after the absolute hogswash that was A Place to Bury Strangers, I sat there waiting for NIN. And, suddenly, low and behold, 999,999 starts playing and I fucking jump. Everyone looks at me. I say, "THEY ARE ABOUT TO FUCKING START!". The lights go out and cheers begin. In a matter of no time, 1,000,000 starts roaring. Badass song live, btw.

SETLIST:
For the most part, the set-list was badass. Songs that are fucking amazing live always like March of the Pigs, Terrible Lie, HLAH, and Hurt were all badass like always. However, the inclusion of songs like The Wretched (me and the guy a few seats down were raving about The Fragile and couldn't believe that he played the song), REPTILE (oh yes!), and Vessel made the show absolutely awe-inspiring. Vessel's backdrop was ridiculously amazing...and, plus, NIN has an uncanny ability to keep the fans in the seats-even during the slow songs. Ghosts had amazing backdrops and people were astonished to see the uncanny instruments.

The encore was spectacular, the NIN logo, the Echoplex machine, and the In This Twilight ending. All in all, it was a SPECTACULAR set-list that kept the adrenaline flowing and fans glued to the stage.

CROWD:
The crowd was absolutely amazing. The die-hard fans were in abundance, the pit was wild and crazy but not too-much, and people actually didn't cheer too much during Hurt. All in all, it was nice to see people respecting NIN. And plus, the concert was near sold out.

VISUALS:
Wow. People were shitting all over themselves during The Warning (which was pretty aight live), during Vessel (which was fucking amazing), and Ghosts (the guy next to me kept going "IS THAT FOR REAL?", the Greater Good, In This Twilight, Head Like a Hole, blah blah blah. Still, when people saw Trent in The Greater Good, I thought the stadium would erupt. Nine Inch Nails HAVE TRULY outdone themselves light-wise, this is a show for the books, a true show for eyes and ears both.

PERFORMANCE:
Trent's voice was DAMN good. No hoarse-ness at all, screamed The Wretched perfectly. Had no problems singing at all. Finck's guitars were not tuned down too low or too high; made for a perfect mixture, JJ's bass was damn good, and Josh's drumming was tight. They all were on the top of their game.

OVERALL:
What a fucking concert. Near perfect set-list, Reptile and The Wretched threw me for a loop-not expecting those songs AT ALL. Reptile is fucking unbelievable live, and Head Like a Hole had SO MUCH ENERGY tonight, don't know why. But it was one of the band's best performances so far; Trent's voice was spot-on (and he didn't talk too much, said some things about being shy), Finck's guitars were turned up just right, and Josh didn't have much trouble with the Echoplex machine. What a damn concert, best I've ever seen.

P.S. Who was the guy next to me? Definitely an ETS-er...felt like one, explaining NIN to his friend. He fucking flipped when they played The Wretched (we were already talking about The Fragile being the best beforehand), and then when Reptile played he freaked out. Sitting on a chair in the back row of the middle section? I was the young-looking guy with his crazy mother who didn't fit in and could sing 75% of the songs. She kept getting up for more beer...anybody?

I got fairly close to the rail, only some 5-6 people in front of me, and I was some 15 feet away from Robin.

Maybe I was pumped, but the crowd got tired too quick!! Pushing and shoving is fun!

This was my first time to see Nine Inch Nails live.

And whata fuckin show!

The opening act was OK, but I was too focused on which songs I would hope NIN would play to really pay attention past the crapass loud shit.


I was standing like 90% of the time singing along to all of the songs.

By far my favorite -

Survivalism - The chick pissing in the stall = MY GOD DAMN HERO (That song redefined personal space for me)

Wish and all the songs where everyone in the arena was singing along gave me chills everytime.


I've never felt so close to a mob of people before.




The songs from Ghost that had the marimba and other assorted percussion made me want to cry because I used to play percussion a few years back.


Finally - the crossover from Ghosts songs to Piggy was fucking awesome...

Anyone have any idea when a audio rip of this would surface? I really want to fucken hear that encore I missed.

I tried my best to hold the camera steady as people shoved me around.















And I took a LOT more...but I'm gonna take a break tonight.

The only really bullshit thing about the show was that -

I couldn't bring my umbrella into the arena.


I had to leave at the encore to find it still in the bushes where I left it.

This was easily the BEST concert I have ever been to. It's an hour and a half after the fact and I am STILL pumped. GA FUCKING KICKED ASS

I'll post more details when I am a bit more recovered.

Anyone have an idea what was up with the throwing of the keyboard/synth at the beginning? It seemed like Robin was off beat and TR flipped....

this show made me lose my mind. and just when i was about to find it again, it made me lose it over and over and over again.

it was fucking badass. The Wretched, Reptile, The Big Comedown, and every other fucking song were spot on

Well... I have a video of almost all of reptile that I'm uploading now (350+ mb), so that should be up here by the morning. Aside from the obnoxious fuck next to me, I had a blast. I enjoyed this so much more than Atlanta. I think the fact that there were a crapload more people there tonight helped.

i had to trash mine. i brought two but i made sure to bring in cheap ones so I wouldn't worry too much if lost them.

the the pit area was a bit brutal (first timer in the pit) and i was literally being suffocated to death. i had to go back a bit 'cause i couldn't breath and i was scared of losing my glasses from all the pushing and shoving. my sister braved it out and stayed. she got some decent pics so i'll upload them later.

Holy crap, that pit was crazy. My shirt is ripped!

I hid my umbrella in the bushes too... and surprisingly it was there still after the show!!

This was my 30th NIN show since April, 2005 and it was THE BEST! So far...

Amazing how a ferocious audience energizes a spectacular and breathtaking performance.

My first show EVER of any band (well aside from a few BOTBs) and it was FUCKING ROCKIN!!!!!!!!! I don't know all of NIN's songs, and I planned on not listening to them all before the show because I wanted to discover some new stuff. And I did.

Of the songs I had never heard before, what I'm guessing were Piggy and Reptile were absolutely fucking insane.

Overall a nuts show. 1,000,000 was an amazing opener, MOTP was crazy awesome, Wish... I have no words for that, HLAH was awesome. I was extra pumped when they played Terrible Lie. It's easily my favorite NIN tune and the whole presentation of it, from the performance to the visuals along with it, was incredible.

It was one of the greatest experiences of my life, I'll never forget it, ever. In fact I may have my ticket framed

This was my first major concert. NIN is my favorite band. This was a perfect way to end my summer vacation. I loved the visual effects. Freaked out when I heard the Wretched and Reptile. Kind of disappointed they didn't play Hand That Feeds but just at the concert made up for it. I Bought 2 shirts: The white ghosts one and the one with the grenade. I saw a drunk forty year old man dancing to every song and had no rhythm what so ever. Overall, this show just kicked ass. I love how everyone just got pumped up once March of the Pigs started playing.

Did anyone see that girl who was crowd surfing was just thrown to the floor over the rail? She was limping and I was laughing.

That was fucking incredible. My expectations were very very high, but I still had no idea it would be that good. Great setlist, mind-blowing production, and the band was on fire. Trent was dead on about this being the best lineup of the band yet - with the combined talent in this incarnation, plus all the different instruments they're carting around this tour, it seems like the possibilities are endless. Josh in particular (as usual) was beyond awesome, especially on Piggy and Ghosts 19. Trent's voice was excellent from beginning to end - glad to see he seems to have gotten over whatever it was that affected him at the previous shows.

There were a few dickheads on the floor, and everyone around me decided that the Ghosts section would be the perfect time to have loud conversations, but other than that everything was perfect. I looked around for anyone wearing an ETS laminate to say hello, but no luck. Did see a guy that looked kind of like Levi at the end of the show though.

Who were the couple that turned around and stood dead still staring into the camera at the soundboard during Survivalism? They did that for the entire song, and it was a bit creepy, but pretty damn funny also.

Oh yeah, A Place To Bury Strangers weren't that bad at all - they reminded me of a slightly heavier version of BRMC.

so it's been almost 4 hours and now I'm starting to get a headache. It's well worth it though I nned sleep, but I'm so wound up from the show that I can't calm down

But yes, I've seen NIN 5 times and tonight was by far the best of the 5.

I missed seeing APTBS who I actually wanted to see but whatever. This was a truly phenomenal show. The crowd had a lot of energy. The band seemed to feed off it. Like its been said already Reptile was a pleasant surprise. I've been wanting to hear that live for awhile now. I thought it was cool how they had Pinion before Wish. The lights were the best I've seen from NIN yet. Letting You was another one that blew me away. Ghost 31 rocked just as hard as I thought it would. Robin tore it up on that one. I liked Aaron North but now I see that Robin Finck is a much better guitarist for this band. One thing I noticed was that I didn't remember seeing Josh Freese that much. I've been to a few shows now and this was one of the best. Hoping to catch them when they come to San Antonio. Also if anyone picked up an extra tour poster I'll be very happy to take it off of your hands for a fair price. I really really really hoped somebody taped this show.

The sound was ABSOLUTELY PRISTINE. I couldn't believe it. Not one criticism on the sound and that has been my major gripe with being in the pit for the last couple I saw. Pristine. You could hear EVERY instrument with clarity. No bass thud. Nothing. Pristine. I can still hear out of my right ear, too, Ma!

The Wretched (oh.) and Reptile (double oh.) and The Big Comedown sealed the deal.

Robin Finck operates on 11. He was a joy and amazing to watch. Trent looked and sounded great. Justin is a precise and thoughtful player. Alessandro was having fun. Josh was great as usual.

I had not been very excited about this show for the past few weeks for various reasons and it BLEW. MY. MIND.

So much fun. Can't wait to do it again soon.

P.S. The people next to me were ultra super cool, too. If you are reading this, hope you are feeling better, ma'am. Nothing worse than a stomach ache while trying to enjoy yourself.

edit: I LOVED A Place To Bury Strangers. Loved them. Totally my cup of tea. Great job from APTBS.

Just got back to Austin, the show was absolutely amazing and words are unable to describe the intensity of that show. I LOVED The Greater Good, and the encore was definitely amazing, goosebumps ran up my spine over and over while listening to Hurt. I do have one complaint, I was up front directly in front of Josh during the Ghost medley and the people around me just would NOT shut the fuck up, I kept threatening them and asking them to be quiet but they didn't care, just a bunch of uppity drunk fucking red-necks who kept talking about god knows what. Honestly that upset me more than anything and nearly ruined the show, But once i moved back a little i found a nice little nook where i could enjoy the show in peace with some nice people who gave me plenty of room to dance during Only Overall, the concert was flawless the lights were amazing, The highlights i believe were mostly the Year Zero songs because of their incredible visuals, You could tell that Trents voice wasn't up to par because he was avoiding hitting the high notes on all the songs. On a lighter note, Josh Freese is the fucking man. Robin makes Aaron look like a punk, Alessandro is wizard, but i hate say that i miss Jeordie. I saw Rob hanging out at the soundbooth after the show. Said hello and snapped a quick photo with him, really nice guy. Other than getting pulled over on the way back to Austin, great show, great night.

If you were up front you may remember me as the guy who kept telling these people to SHUT the fuck up during the ghost songs. Followed by me storming off and calling everyone fucking idiots.

Just got back in Fort Worth. Pleasant and beautiful show, probably the best Ive seen. "In This Twilight" was pure. And the way they brought out "Pinion" was intense. Looking forward to Dallas tomorrow.

Gagreed. Some spare next to me was calling his buddy trying to point out where he was sitting. And he was damn loud too.

Fun! Fun! Fun! Great show – lot’s of energy and audience participation. Highlight of the concert: The Greater Good and Only. The sound was very good. Avoided the floor, our seats were center with a great view of the light production. It was amazing and mesmerizing. Robin was FABOLOUS - loved it when he let it rip. Alessandro added all these extra tweaking sounds that were cool - I don't think they were on the Slip. Josh was awesome - don't know how he does it! Justin was fun - he moves on stage very interestingly. Trent was running around like a madman! He said something about being shy towards the end, which seemed to be coming from left-field. We thought that was a joke until he looked bewildered. Someone needs to get him a teddy bear.

Zombie? umm.no. I am an active audience participator. I think those were the people on the right side screen. I was on the left. It was pretty funny to see them just stand there, though.

BTW, the camera was like 2 feet from my face at the end of the stage. It was quite awkward.

I hope a picture of it surfaces somewhere. Wishful thinking?

Great show. Not quite the best of the 15+ times I've seen the band since 94, but pretty damn close (I'd put the Halloween show in 94 and the Numbers club show in 95 ahead of it). By far the best production, however. The visuals, especially during the Ghosts sequences, were amazing. Screens for Survivalism were awesome too...I kept hoping that some people would have rolled through and knocked the two stationary people on their butts...would have been amusing.

No complaints about the set list... Reptile is still their best live song and I almost went berzerk on the floor when it started up. The Warning, Gosts, Terrible Lie, Pinion / Wish, Vessel, Head Down, Echophlex....hell, everything was a highlight. I hope to hear Sunspots live one day, but that's my issue obviously.

Crowd seemed into it, but I was really suprised at the lack of moshing on the floor...probably the least I have seen at a Houston show. Not like I was expecting some huge pit or erupt during Ghosts, but more so during Wish, MOTP, Letting You, HLAH, etc. Seems like concerts today are all about how many lower res pictures can I take with my iphone than actually moving around and bump people in a pit. Not saying that huge mosh pits are what it's all about, but it always adds to a show especially during higher energy shows.

Anyhow, I'll stop rambling. Was awesome to bump into people before and after that I hadn't seen since the Austin With Teeth meet and greet show and other NIN shows. Very appreciative of Trent and company coming through...hoping to try and make the San Antonio show on the 23rd, but maybe they could squeeze in another Houston show on the 24th before heading to New Orleans.

During the show, I was over on Robin's side maybe about 20 - 30 feet from the front. Any of the moshing that I saw cropped on the opposite side of the floor.... believe me, I wanted to pop in for a song or 2, but didn't.

I am new here, but I have been reading the posts about this particular tour to see what my first NIN concert would be like. I have been a fan of NIN since the day Trent conceived his brain child. After reading all the positive reviews of previous shows, I was really excited to see them in Houston!

Was so damn excited that I got about 2 hours of sleep...drove 3 hours to Houston from Austin...just got back an hour ago after spending the night (and getting another 2 hours of sleep).

But my God was it worth it! Was worth the lost sleep, the crazy drivers, the $55 ticket prices, and that shit called A Place to Bury Strangers! I will have to agree when it is said that they suck ass. My friend and I went outside and smoked the whole time they played. We couldn't stand it. They sounded as if a broken TV was struggling to pick up a channel in a graveyard...on top of a pile of shit. That was APTBS.

So, my friend and I are standing outside and I noticed it got kind of quiet inside. And I said, "Dude, I bet they are about to play." We headed inside to take our seats RIGHT as 999,999 started. And from then on, it was a performance I will never forget.

I was in section 115 and even though I was DEAD tired AND I had quite a bit of alcohol, when NIN started 1,000,000 I suddenly felt like I drank 50 Red Bulls. I was just rockin' in and out of my seat the entire show (pretty sure I annoyed this stick-up-her-ass bitch in front of me that was too busy petting her boyfriend like a dog)! The energy was fantastic! And I am glad I wasn't the only one yelling crazy shit. I kept yelling, "We fucking love you!" and the classic, "I want to have your babies!" Best time I have had at a show in a looong time.

The lighting and effects were spectacular! I have TONS of pics including just about everything that was shown on the screen. I will be making a NIN photo album on my myspace page a little later so feel free to check it out. I got all the Survivalism screens as well. Including the toilet. And the crazy static screen effect that IMO was the fucking coolest!

Trent has always been a hot piece of man to me, so to see him going ape shit on stage was a dream come true! He was throwing stuff and jumping in the air...and then he grabbed his guitar and started rocking out and I almost fainted cause of teh sex. I didn't hear him say he was feeling shy, but it explains why I thought he was quiet. His voice never faltered and he sounded like he does on the albums...perfect!

Robin is the best NIN guitarist! He rocked the SHIT out of the entire show! Was amazed at his energy and guitar skills. Didn't know a human being could successfully headbang, rock on the guitar AND jump in the air at the same time but by God, Robin did it!

I have to say, I already knew "In This Twilight" signaled the end of the show...and now everytime I hear it I am going to get really sad and emo. I loved the show so much and I felt as if it ended too early. Yeah, they played all the great ones and even a few that I have been dying to hear...yeah Trent and everyone got all sweaty and even more teh sexy...but I had so much energy flowing through me by the end of the show that I wanted MORE MORE MORE!

In case you're wondering...I was the chick in black! Haha, j/k...I was in black, but I was in heels and had a bright pink streak on the left of my hair. I have never seen so many disgusting silicone boobs waiting to burst out of half shredded shirts. Made me want to vomit. But APTBS took care of that!

section 121, pre-order section. i was worried until the minute i got to my seat about being able to see the amazing production of this show. but it was all taken care of. fucking amazing seat


only complaint came from my gf after the show, she said the people behind her wouldnt shut the fuck up

My 1st NIN show. Awesome show, section 111 top row not a bad spot. Cool people around me and overall at the show. Great set list a little bit of everything. Stopped selling beer like at 10 seemed a little early to me which sucked. Reptile live is really awesome. Houston saw a great visual and audio performance.

WOW that show was AMAZING! My first, and it was GREAT.

Quite an adventure to get there. I used miles to fly in from Monterrey, Mexico (I wouldn't have gone had I known they were coming, which was announced like 2 months after I got my Houston ticket). There was a tornado and a storm in Houston so we were like 10 feet off the runway in Houston, and the plane pulled up. Then, they looped around and tried again. No luck. So, we go to Austin. Yee haw! 4 hours later, they say we can go, so we land in Houston and wait 45 minutes for the jetway to clear out. Sweet. Once I get to my friends house and am on the road at 630, I forgot my credit card at the house. Turn around, get it. Finally arrive at around 745, the strangers graveyard was playing, they were ok I guess.

Once NIN started, everything was worth it - the energy was intense.. I was in section 108, it kind of amazed me how old the audience was.. Not many teenagers like myself, a lot of people over 30. The lights were incredible, the echoplex machine blew my mind.. Like an intense Vanna White.

The crowd during head like a hole, wow.. I will never forget how crazy they went. The lights added a complete other dimension to it, the ghosts scenes were so trippy. When they flashed the red and blue lights, like in those 3d videos, everything I saw would blend together, I thought maybe the fumes had gotten to me.

I forget what song it was, the one with the blueish bubbles and Trent kind of overlayed, looked kind of like an ultrasound.. One of the coolest parts.

What was the song with the refinery in the background? Was the standing couple real in Survivalism - they were creepy.

Whoever the dude was who would crowdsurf and get pulled out, and did it three times, he's my hero.


Great show, seeing them again in Monterrey.

Oh yeah - When the dude with the flashlight came out an erased the screen, that was tight.

Great show. I've heard alot of people whine "why does Trent always play Head Like a Hole" blah blah "Does he ever get bored with it?" and all I have to say is the energy of the crowd and its entire mob mentality is worth it.

I was on the floor roughly 20-25 feet back from the stage so I could also see wtf was on the screens and I totally loved it. My voice sounds like Sam Kinnisons.

Anyhow, yah the security sucked. "Hey want a set list? Meet me out front later and I'll have one for you." Jackass. I dont need a scrap of paper that bad.

I saw a few people from the NIN blog there as well. One recognized me from the PVC shirt I made for the show.

All in all I thought the Houston show rocked. It almost makes me want to hit the San Antonio show later this year. Almost.

Just saw that October 23rd they will be coming to San Antonio! I am going to have my mind blown again!

The show was so fucking amazing! We had so much fun. We were right in front of Robin behind the people at the rail. During Only I made it to the rail & was so awesome. We got especially squished during MOTP, Gave Up, & Wish but so worth it.

I got a little teary eyed during The Frail & In this Twilight, yeah I'm a nerd but they were just beautiful! Reptile, oh shit! : ) Yeah & I really wish people would stfu during Ghosts & Hurt.

Did anyone see Trent turn around & put his arms up, kinda like what the hell, when the band started playing in this Twilight? hmm?

Anyway, so worth the 3 hour drive from SA. I will most definetly be at the att center on the 23rd. can't wait. I hope to buy a hoodie or that jacket thing next time.

The show was absolutely awesome. I was in Section 115/Row 20 which were terrific seats. Everything about it blew me away. APTBS was intense (although the strobe lighting really got to me after...five minutes) but really impressive.


Terrible Lie, Head Like a Hole, God Given, and Vessel were so powerful live. Hearing everyone shouting lyrics to them was really awesome.


It sucked during the Ghosts segment that so many people were talking so much and loudly (as well as moving around). I enjoyed the shit out of it. I would love to see an up-close and personal sit-down performance of Ghosts.

I was ecstatic when The Frail went right into The Wretched, as well as hearing Reptile being played. Both of those songs easily made my night.

I have to see them again when they come up to San Antonio.

I have full videos of God Given and The Warning. I'll post links once I have them on Youtube. Audio was pretty good. GREAT show, just wish I could've been on the floor. I'm going to try for San Antonio.

Well, I guess the tornado was foreshadowing for the evening because NIN blew me away. So many great visual details to match the music. I especially liked the treatment on The Greater Good and In This Twilight…looming and gorgeous.

Musically, favorites were Vessel, all Ghosts pieces played, Reptile and In This Twilight. The dynamic between this group of musicians is really wonderful…everybody brings something strong to the mix.

Moments most remembered-
- the cleanness of sound coming from Robin’s guitar.
- Trent so concentrated on playing the marimba, his little dance on Vessel and holding that note on the word “loneliness” during Reptile…wonderful as ever.
- Alessandro’s ever-present smile as he’s playing- really looks like he enjoys what he does.
- the noticeable groove emanating from the left-couldn’t see Justin as well from my angle due to lights but the sound was great.
- and the awesome power that is Josh Freese consistently.

I danced so much on my previously broken toe that I think I resprained it…so will prop up and spend the afternoon looking at all these wonderful pics/videos everyone is posting. Looking forward to San Antonio.

PS- didn’t think APTBS was so awful…just maybe not so original- but then who is these days.

That show was amazing!! Vessel, The Big Comedown, the Wretched, God Given, and Reptile (OMFG!!) were my highlights of the show. I hope everyone had as much fun as we did.

The two statue girls were in the back by the soundboard. They were told to stand there. We jumped around behind them briefly. It was weird.

Those visuals are really fantastic. It rivals, and in my opinion, beats anything Pink Floyd has ever done and thats saying something. Amazing.

I saw Rob at the soandboard after the show and tried to get the setlist. The tech just folded it up and flipped it to a guy the was there the whole show.

I can't wait for the next show that comes. I had fun.

much love for APTBS - that was 40-ish minutes of earshattering sonic mayhem and I spent most of today wandering around to various record shops looking for their album. (ended up having to order it online). Being up in the cheap seats made it even more wall-of-sound insane and echo-y with their jesus and mary chain/sonic youth/whatever the hell they were doing freakout. that was fucking exciting to watch.

the cheap seats were a perfect area to see the mindblowing visuals. I had no idea they could even do something that complex and excellent, with the transparent screens. Unfortunately, I was a few rows in front of some jabba the hutt-sized woman in clubwear and her idiot friends, who apparently decided to go to the show to swill cheap beer and talk amongst themselves and laugh very loudly.

just FYI, every show I go to in Houston I seem to be somewhere near a cluster of these fucking mouthbreathers. tickets are expensive and some people are looking forward to seeing their favorite band rumble through town all year - keep your fucking mouth shut. The "quiet parts" of songs are not placed there by musicians who are giving you an opportunity for your inane chatter.

i'm a reasonably new NIN fan - this show was pretty much the clencher. these guys are a hell of a band bringing an incredible show. Next time I'm getting in early and expensive for better seats.

The show was so good! The visuals were simply amazing. I loved the setlist and the "Ghosts" songs were the highlight for me. They sound great live and blend in really well with the other songs. I agree with others about the conversations going on during the "Ghosts" songs were a bit of a distraction but I guess some people want to just pay attention to the big, loud "rock" show types of songs. They probably have not listened to any new NIN music or even care. Sad really. I also thought APTBS were really good and remind me of a modern day TJAMC therefore I knew I would really enjoy them.

if someone can tell me where to find APTBS records somewhere here in town I'll be there in a hot minute.

the ghosts chatter was incredibly annoying.

next time we should coordinate and everyone who's "into it" gets a ticket in a certain block of seats so we can insulate ourselves from the ones who go to shows to see themselves.

This was my first NIN show and it was amazing. I am not a crowd person, but despite the sweat and constant pushing it was well worth it. I am suprised the pics came out the way they did.
I did the nin.com presale and waited. We were told we would get to see the soundcheck. So we were herded into a hallway and waited some more. We didn't get the see the soundcheck, but we got early access to the merch and were the first to get to the floor.

Absolutely amazing show. Damn near broke a finger helping someone surf, it's still kinda sore.

Saw hippygeek in the pit before everything started. Would have said hello or something, but I'm still really new here and didn't have a laminate either.

The people running the show really fucked up with the wristbands. Apparently some people got in through the wrong entrance and got them for seated tickets. I was originally in 3rd row, but this couple seated next to us managed to get wristbands and didn't want them so me and the guy I came with ended up using them instead. Score! If you two happen to read this, thanks a ton!

The show was absolutely excellent, and aside from some idiot constantly yelling out "THIRSTY!" being let in early through the presale entrance was a relief from the heat outside.

APTBS could have been a lot more entertaining if their vocalist hadn't mumbled through his whole set, their performance was just a garbled mess.

I was on the floor about 25 ft in front of the soundboard, dead center. Wanted to be back far enough to appreciate the light show. I was somewhat surprised that the pit didn't fill up more.

APTBS wasn't that bad, I've definitely seen much worse.

The Wretched made my night. That is the one song I really wanted to hear and I just about shit myself when I heard those first notes. All of the Ghosts songs were amazing and the backdrop was really cool. I liked the stand up bass. Piggy was also really good. Robin was fantastic, God Given solo and the intro to Only were excellent. The light show was indeed incredible, favorite parts were the static during Only, the backdrop for the Ghosts songs, and the guy "erasing" the lights.

I was too busy rocking out and wasn't paying too much attention to the crowd around me but everyone seemed into it. I didn't notice anyone talking too loud during the Ghosts songs. All of the screams during Hurt seemed to be coming from up top.

Reptile. Fuck yes.

(I remember seeing someone mention The Grove. We ate there today for lunch before heading back to Austin. Great meal.)

I don't think that there is anything that I can say that everyone else hasn't said already. This was my 5th time seeing NIN and it just keeps getting better! In This Twilight damn near made me cry...and nothing compares to the energy of thousands of voices singing Head Like A Hole. Band was tight, production was awesome - the whole thing was just phenomenal. Definitely worth the 3 hr drive in the pouring rain from San Antonio. I SERIOUSLY CANNOT WAIT FOR THE 23rd. I've already had the experience of the seats - this time I'm going for the pit! Incidentally, does anyone know exactly what TR's comment about being shy was? Couldn't hear for the people around me talking...

I think he was just apologizing for not being so talkative because he was feeling shy today. Whatever that's supposed to mean.

I'm really hoping someone got a couple shots of The Greater Good when you could see Trent's face bleed onto the screen.

I'm another one who popped my live NIN cherry with this show. It was fucking incredible- best show I've ever been to, with the exception of Bowie's Reality Tour. Some of the people I went with have seen NIN a bunch of times in the past and the general consensus was that this was the best NIN show they'd ever been to.

Perfect mix of new and old, I heard every classic NIN song I'd want to hear (fucking Reptile, w00t!) and I was very pleased with his selection of newer songs. All the raving that people have done regarding the visuals is completely on-spot, the shit is amazing. I was pleasantly surprised to see how into the newer stuff the crowd seemed to be.

I was a fan of A Place To Bury Strangers for a while now so I was thrilled to get to see them. None of the people I went with liked them at all. I don't think I was able to properly convince them that that was pretty much the sound that they were going for and not shtity sound mixing. Ah well.

Highlights:
- VESSEL. Holy shit. Vessel.
- Reptile. I can die happy now.
- Letting You
- The Wretched
- The Big Comedown
- The Greater Good performance genuinely creeped me the fuck out. I think it's one of Year Zero's most underrated tracks; glad it was included.
- In This Twilight was the perfect set closer. Loved the way the band members left one by one until Trent was left alone on-stage playing a lovely piano bit.

Not-so-highlights:
- I can't help but wish there were more Fragile songs.
- No My Violent Heart, which I would've loved to hear.
- Venue's shitty $7.25 nachos gave me gas. But I guess that's not Trent's fault.

Last night was the most fun I've had in a long time. I've wanted to see NIN for 10 years now and it finally happened. Hell yes.

We were just to the right of center stage about 3 feet back from the rail once everyone squeezed in.

The pit was crazy packed. I'm not surprised there wasn't much moshing. We were all to squished together to move at all, let alone mosh. The compression of people right before the show started was much more abrupt than I've been in before.

Managed to grab the tambourine along with the 30 other people that did before some fat guy threatened to eat us if we didn't let go. (not his exact words but he looked like he could do it) Cut my thumb on it and heard a few other people complaining about the same.

Did anyone actually see the weird people just staring at the camera? I figured they were plants or it wasn't really a live feed.

We had to pull out from the front just before the Ghosts stuff. Kinda glad we did because the visuals were just awesome. The way the lights are interactive is almost like watching a tech demo, hah.

Them leaving one by one was very cool. That and In This Twilight at the end were very different from the loud feedback with insane strobes ending I'm used to.

The chick I saw that crowd surfed to front middle obviously pulled up her own shirt as she got to the stage. May have been a different chick than others were talking about.

Other than some chick named "Rachel" -- that was obviously on something -- asking everyone over and over where they were from and what their names were, and a chick named "Britney" having to yell at some douche trying to cut in front of her, everyone around me was pretty cool and fun to chat with a little before the show got going.

Can't wait to go again. I want the tambourine next time, hah.

I was in line by myself in the normal line and I saw the guy in the preshow thread wearing the Public Enemy shirt. Once they started letting us in I went for Merch and let 4 people in front of me since I was feeling nice and we started talking about NIN and which albums were our favorites(met them again at the end of the show you guys were awesome).

Once I got my NIN slip tour shirt I went to the GA and found my cousin(big guy with huge hair) and we met some cool people around us. We were on JMJ's side and it was pretty cool. During Ghosts and Ghosts Piggy I had moved to a pretty chill zone where no one was pushing or shoving, quite nice really.

During Piggy the girl in front of me asked me if it was my first show and yeah Sorry if you're reading this, but who cares its a NIN show.

Motherfucking Wretched and reptile! Oh man and Vessel also holy shit it was awesome. God Given was also another highlight, Robin is the fucking man!


It was an awesome show and hopefully I'll be able to go to the monterrey show in October.

We drove for 5 hrs and stood in line for 3 but the show was well worth it. this show tops anything i have ever seen in my life (well except the births of my kids). I was very surprised about Reptile hope the San Antonio show is as good as the Houston.

great show! and everyone i talked to was really nice. the chick in line- you helped that half hour go by nicely, the peeps outside- that was a cute shirt on you. and damn my throat hurts, maybe i should scream a little quieter.

One of my favorite pics. The show was awesome, Lolla was better, but most likely since it was the first time I saw anything from this tour. 30 songs is ridiculous. Granted soms Ghosts and the 2 intro songs are pretty short, it's still a long set.

The only thing I didn't like was the speaker set up. The front of the pit wasn't loud enough(possibly a good thing) I could pretty much hear Trent singing directly better than I could hear the speakers. Cool, but that also meant I could hear everyone's conversations during the whole show. See you in SA.

Great Show everything about it was cool, met up with a bunch of friends and saw NIN put on a great effen show. Smoked alot of FIREY KIND BUDS, saw Robin up close and got to hear EVERY ONE of my favorite tracks 'In This Twilight', and 'Echoplex' were some personal favorites. I got alot of good PICS and even better VIDEOS I will be posting them soon. Left the show and got wasted at the Flying Saucer must have drank 20 beers WASTEDDDDDDDD.

The Ghosts songs ere 5, 6, 19, and 31. Ghosts 21 was not played.

I just remembered how cool the production of Only was. It was a screen of fuzz like when the tv has no signal, and Trent would walk up to it making a hole where he was standing and then the fuzz would come back when he would take a step back. Then he would swipe his hand accross the fuzz making it clear again to see him and then swipe it back to fuzz. Fucking crazy! I just can't stress how much I really want to have an HD version of a tour dvd for this tour. I want to be able to keep this in memory forever. Truly amazing TR, you have outdone yourself!!

I had a blast in Houston with Hippygeek. Especially the blurred memory of after-show bar adventures.

Wikkid - it was great to meet you and your wife. Tell her to chill about ETS, you'll find your happy medium some day and plus, you'd never have the chance to meet such random strange people. NIN shows would never be the same!!!!!

2nd NIN show and loved every minute of it. Production level was pretty superior to the first and definitely was a better setlist (Austin 03/24/06). I can't figure out if it was a good thing to get a date early in the tour considering they may play more rare gems as they begin to mesh well with eachother, though they also may play shorter setlists due to fatigue / TR's voice. Regardless, the show was amazing and I was very pleased to see The Wretched and Reptile being played. Gonna try to see them again at San Antonio in October.

I was in sec 105...I also entered through the nin.com entrance b/c I bought it through the presale. I keep thinking back and wondering if I should've just gotten a GA ticket instead...but it was nice to relax my feet during the Ghosts portion of the concert.

Yeah, that was kind of irritating about them not opening the doors until 7:10ish while it started to drizzle. I was in section 118 and still had a great time. I might get GA for the San Antonio show though.

That was my first major pit, second NIN show, everyone was fantastic and it will be an experience I will never forget, mainly because my body wont let me!

The show was absolutely amazing; I think the Encore was especially phenomenal.

I was able to buy GA tickets on the venue website. I live in Mobile, Alabama and drove 7 hours to Houston. I got to Houston at 8 AM and not many fans were in line that early.

We got in line about 4 PM and no more than 20 NIN fans were ahead of us. I was the girl in the ridiculous red/black zebra pants, if any of you saw me by chance. I didn't talk to many fans, but every one seemed nice.

We got into the venue and I bought one of the tour t-shirts, but it was later lost/destroyed in the moshpit. We were in the 4th-5th row on the floor. It was my first NIN moshpit experience and we only stayed in it for about 6-7 songs.

Someone was handing out free stickers when we were leaving and I got one. Of course I was not able to buy the same t-shirt again, so I got one of the tour posters instead.

I was very impressed by the setlist and the stage effects. My favorite performances were Head Down, Echoplex, In This Twilight, God Given and Only. My only disappointment is that Trent didn't talk more. And I thought A Place To Bury Strangers were okay. Overall, I was very satisfied with the show, and I can't wait to see NIN again on a different tour.

FINALLY...

So Houston was nice. Sitting in the torrential rain, meeting cool people, and going to an amazing show made for one great day. FUCK that lady from the Toyota Center who came out of her way to speak to us lowly serfs just to tell that one guy that he couldn't wear his Starfuckers shirt. Hope someone stepped on your face. The security guys were great during the show. The water was a BIG help. Thanks to all the guys around me & my sister who weren't douche bags. Oh, and thanks Trent & Co. for a great show.

So the show: The first few songs were rough, but awesome. Discipline sounds great live. The stage set up is insane. I nearly went blind during Gave Up. Trent looks great close up by the way. The only quams I had were that Finck & JMJ were very stagnant. Sure they jumped up and down and banged their heads, but they pretty much stayed in their spots. They played great, but walk around guys, we don't bite. The stage is huge. Aaron would have done somersaults. Thank God Trent put in a Ghosts segment into the show. Not only was it great to hear those songs live, but it gave the crowd time to calm down.

My sister & I were on one of the screens during Survivalism!! Trent threw down what looked like a mic stand in front of us, and next thing we know we're on camera. In This Twilight sounds amazing; favorite song of the night. So yeah... more videos to come. Check out this stuff for now.

We got in the line around 3pm. It was just me and my sis. We were the gals standing right behind those 3 dudes who were sitting in those chairs. I had on a Depeche Mode shirt, khaki pants and a huge black purse.

I was stupid and got in line around 6pm, thinking there wouldn't be much of a line heh. Very stupid thinking that.

The line moved quickly though, after the doors were opened 10 minutes late.

Allow me to rephrase what I said. I filmed the MAJORITY of the concert. Some songs are cut off because I was concerned about the memory and battery life on my camera. You should be thanking my sore arm for filming all that I did.

wheres 999,999, Head Down, and the other two Ghosts songs? and why is The Warning and Vessel only partial? and some other songs are cut off a little too

Allow me to rephrase what I said. I filmed the MAJORITY of the concert. Some songs are cut off because I was concerned about the memory and battery life on my camera. You should be thanking my sore arm for filming all that I did.

ah yea i figured that. sorry about that, i didnt mean to sound so unthankful, Im VERY thankful for what you got. its great footage and great audio. i was thinking of pulling the sound off and making it a audio boot, but i dont know if youd be fine with that

A bootleg as in something to be sold? That I'm not entirely cool with. But if you want to rip the audio and listen to it for yourself or share it with friends, I say go for it.

oh no, nothing to be sold. just for me and whoever would like it. selling things like these are for people with no ethics.

all theses pictures and videos are priceless, and theyre purely for us to have something to remember that great night by. i can listen to the audio rip and watch your vids and be like, yea i was fucking there. its a great feeling, at least to me

Man that concert rocked!I'm new to ETS.I was almost close to the rail.I was the one that had to get on my dad to see.I was the one that had my face painted.This was my 1st NIN concert.Man can't believe they would play reptile!Man the concert was long.My dad was sore after we came home but that was some concert.

We tilted our heads, raised our eyebrows and made weird expressions, but apparently the resolution didn't catch it. We also didn't know about the slight delay so it didn't work out so well when we were singing... we compensated for that when we did it at other shows. We were lucky to be on both cameras in Houston... at some shows we were behind Josh, so no-one saw...

Thankyou to everyone who posted on flickr and youtube! A photographer with a press pass took our photo while we were there, but Rob had no idea who they were... If anyone knows any photographers who covered the show we'd love to have a souvenir...
