HOLY FUCK - trent sounded better than last night!!

it was cool meeting Clocksrun, hes a cool dude. no idea on the setlist, except there was nothing that hasnt been played before. i have quite a few pics, ill post the ones that turned out later, most of them seem to look like shit

Another great show...better than last night.

I was in the 4th row of 101 and got tons of pix. I tried to record some video but that Penny Marshall bitch-whore usher lady kept putting the kibosh on it. Anyone else see her? I was on the aisle, seat 1, row DD (4) of 101...rocking out and then freezing randomly to take a few pics.

EDIT: PS...They played for ~2.5 hours, which was SO much nicer than last night, and 3killa - I agree..sounded better all around than Cleveland.

I think Trent was in a better mood tonight than in Cleveland.
He sounded a little better too.

The show was amazing, SOME HOW Ciao and I managed
front row center again, fucking amazing.

He said a nice little speech about 'supporting' A Place To Bury Strangers
but that he didn't care if we stole his stuff. Heh.
(Personally the strobe lights made me wish they left faster...
it went on forever.)

It was amazing - and my first NIN show. He said a nice bit at the end about how, in the early days of playing clubs, it was "a treat" to come to Detroit [sic], because the crowd was always so wild.

3killa...thanks for everything, you were so chill and reminded me that I'm not, hahaaaahhh... I certainly wasn't for this event; was very stressed out with 3 hours of sleep. First in line. Blagh...fuck, what a mess (all the venue "come back at 3 p.m." -don't wanna get into it- SHIT), including me right now.

- I felt waves of shock being back at a NIN rail again, almost couldn't get my voice going during 1,000,000!
- Ian ("The Green Shirt Guy") is awesome, to say the least. He pretty much made the pre-sale line happen as fast as it did (permitted to start a line at about 10:30 a.m. with him, even though I was there at 6 a.m. and got kicked out twice), let that be known to all you pre-salers.
- NIN must let venues know what's up way in advance...somehow. However it's possible, 'cause it's vital to the pre-sale purpose.
- I wore my ETS laminate for most of the wait in line (off for the show--I found out you don't want staff thinking you're trying to be official), but saw none on anybody else.
- Grown adults need to be retaught the concept of a (FAIR) line. Immature and annoying as hell at that.
- Signed a death waiver.
- Personal threats to me on rail before NIN (seriously, wtF?). Apparently I made a bullseye with my new haircut.
- Tambourine: caught it during Head Down (thaaaat was me, Pep!).
- The show was amazing (set list/energy), but rough as hell. I am beat to shreds.
- I am never going back to Michigan unless there's no other route around it. I say this past the ridiculous fact about the general driving/construction/detours... I can't ever seem to find anything good about this state. Sorry, all you good folks from there.

Hard to put into words why, but tonights shows was overall better than last night. Crowd was more energetic, and HEAPS younger.. with youth on your side makes it makes it more rowdy? As usual from the arena shows, the crowd waits until March of the Pigs to really start the pushing an jumping.

Good Given --> Good Soldier was really nice in the encore. Personal highlight were The Big Comedown and Only.

The girl in front of me who knew all the names of the Ghost tracks was spot on, nice job! People that feel the need to talk though the entire Ghosts segment of the show need to the shut the fuck up, no one cares how bad the traffic was on I-75 or what random song you really want to hear from PHM.

Everyone with GA floors had to sign a waiver to be issued a bracelet.. WTF? The venue had a few other strange policies too. Venue security staff was very nice up at the front passing out water.

Was in front of JMJ for the first time on this tour.. he was into a lot of the songs, motivating the crowd to clap etc I like the ending as they depart the stage one at a time and wave to the crowd.

Was finally close enough to see that the lights on the front screen during Only are not sensory activated.. the spotlight following TR looks like it is from further back. Yah, ruin the surprised for anyone who hasnt seen it yet.

SO GOOD!
Granted I've not seen and will not see any other shows from this tour, but I have to say that of all the NIN shows I've seen, this must have been the best and longest one! Those presale tickets were very good, well at least for us. We were first row! Never had that happen before. Everyone we sat around was cool and not drunk/puking. It's nice to be around people at a concert that actually know more than 3 songs.
Anyway, long day, long fantastic night... time for bed!

EDIT: I overheard someone saying there was a meet & greet for the people with pre-sale tickets. I thought it was a load of baloney... someone please tell me I was right!

Also, much truth in the above post about the strobe light during A Place to Bury Strangers. I was sure there were about 20 people having seizures during that whole sequence. Annoying.

Yes - it went much smoother in Cleveland, we got our tickets an hour earlier and were separated into a nice line. Here everyone was sort of huddled and it was making me nervous because there was some 'unfair' cutting going on. People get there early for a reason...

The guy inside putting on our bracelets took way longer because we had to explain to him that we all had 'guests' and that they didn't have to have an ID to match the names on the ticket.

I hope Robs video shows up somewhere!

Once I was pulled out by JT (holy hell he is strong, I'm a big girl and he pulled me out like I weighed 99lbs! Super appreciative of him and his attention to what is going on during the show. He's fantastic) I went up to the second level and I wish I had a picture of what the floor looked like. It was packed solid up to, if not past, the sound area. Mosh pits through out, crowd surfers starting from the fucking back! I swear, it almost reminded...almost, of 1994.

I'm drenched in sweat that's not entirely my own and it hurts to move, but it was a damn good show. First time in the pit for me. I was center, fairly close to the rail most of the time.

The band is ridiculously tight. The visuals, even from up close, are amazing. Great show all around.

I had a bad time being on the main floor. I was surrounded by bouncing 14 year old girls who only stop long enough to take a few flash pictures and like to scream the lyrics or guys who walk through the crowd shoving everyone aside. Too many dumb kids who don't understand the concept of personal space. I'm so glad that NIN is the only band I like with enough popularity to play a giant venue like the Palace or Pine Knob. I hate seeing bands at these places. They really need to play in Detroit again. At least at Joe Louis Arena you can WALK to the show instead of paying $15 for parking.




I missed part of 1,000,000 and Survivalism but the rest of the recording is real nice.

TR & co. were absolutely brilliant tonight, the show was flawless! Trent's voice sounded so good! He mentioned that he was amazed to be still be alive and that people still want to come out and hear NIN. We were all treated to a torrential downpour upon leaving the Palace. It was helpful though, there was quite a bit of green going in to the air in my section I didn't see any ETS'ers around, was hoping to meet some folks. APTBS - I gave them a chance, but they lost me with the last two songs of their set (strobe light HELL). The crowd WAS good in general. People were respectful during Hurt, which was great! I was a little disappointed at the exodus in my section during the Ghosts set however. Oh, and (like no one knew) JOSH FREESE IS THE MAN - holy s**t!!!

Awesome show. No reptile, but thas cool. We got The Wretched, Vessel, Big come down, god given, to name a few highlights

I've never seen songs from Year Zero, Ghosts, or The Slip. Kinda neat to see all that new material comprising half the setlist.

Also, my tech friend said they were recording the entire show directly in Pro-Tools at the soundboard. He's an expert in these matters. Look fwd to trent releasing copius amounts of live material after this tour. The hook up is coming.

I was off to the far left in the pit right in front of Justin . It wasn't bad near me at all, the only pushing we got was during MOTP, which is nothing compared to Lolla. Fucking amazing show. Trent's voice was awesome and so was the rest of the band. I'm gonna make this short, 'cause my eyes are glazing over and i'm going to pass out:

-I was dissapointed by APTBS, I just don't think they are that good live. And I had a major headache afterward because of the strobe lights.

-The crowd was really well behaved near me and there was a TON of really nice fans. I didn't get one crowdsurfer, cool.

-Setlist: Was awesome because of 'The Wretched' following 'The Frail' and 'God Given'.

-All the people I met; thanks for making waiting outside the arena in the sun [for 6 hours] actually a fun experience. Also thanks Lucy and Rocky so hanging with me at the rail the whole show.

-I got a sweaty black rag from the stage from one of the body guard dudes. Hehe.

It's shame I won't see them again till November.

Crowd almost dissapointinly mellow in my area, but it was nice to enjoy a show without being shoved and crushed for 2+ hours. Like everyone else has said, it was an amazing show.

APTBS was good, but the 20 minutes of strobes need to GO!

loved it. my first concert. this was probably the best experience of my life. everyone seemed really into some of the songs. i thought they performed great.

Detroit + APTBS (Strobe) Lights in Your Eye tour 2008 = FAIL.

I think the 7 min strobe was a tech problem. He destroyed his guitar and had to hook up another one to finsih out the song. Hence a visual mindfuck.

heh, I had a girl like that behind me last night in Cleveland. I swear she was having a conversation with Trent between every song and singing in the most horrible, loud voice ever.
I think on future waivers it should state "we understand you love Trent, you promise to not yell how much you want to fuck him, marry him or have him be your baby daddy. failure to do so will result in a kick to the head and removal"

I was pretty much right in front of Trent, maybe a bit to the left, about 4-5 people back. I was sort of protecting two girls for most of the set. Someone also decided to punch me in the back, which I thought was a little retarded. Otherwise, I've never experienced that before, being so close, and it was incredible.

Now I'm supposed to do some modelling thing in a few hours. Oi.

Some stupid mistakes resulted in missing part of 1,000,000 and Survivalism; mistakes which will not be repeated in Toledo.
The recording itself turned out real nice despite all of the talking, singing, and shoving that took place around me.

I compared my recording of Head Down with RJonik's recording. They are nearly identical in sound quality and audience noise, very nice. However, I am missing part of 2 songs so his may be more complete.

chelchik, Sorry you had to leave the rail, but since I was the chick who too your spot when you left I have to say I'm grateful. My apologies to you and your friend that at the beginning I kept bumping you in the head with my long ass arms. Had you not been pulled out I'm not sure I could have survived right behind you much longer, my back is killing me this morning. Your spot is the best I've ever had. The entire show was amazing and I'm just glad that the few fuckers that seemed like they might ruin it in the beginning mostly moved on.

Been going to NIN concerts since 1994 and this one was a hell of a production. I'll be watching the Toledo one from the back with my husband.

This was my second NIN show, the first being DTE two years ago. Visuals were great, my favorites were ghosts 19 and ghosts 31. We also got The Frail/The Wretched which was great to hear live since Robin's back in the band and because songs from The Fragile seem to be rare now. No Reptile but The Good Soldier is always good choice. I might post some pictures later. I was right behind their crazy lighting guy.

I'm also looking forward to hearing the recordings from gladcarrot and RJonik.

Highlights from what I remember:

- MY first NIN show ever, and holy fuck was it crazy seeing them so close. I was in the middle of the floor only a handful of people away from the front.
- I had to be ejected after Discipline; I'd never been in GA before and was being totally crushed, but a guy next to me was nice enough to clear some room and lift me out. Thanks!
- For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen The Wretched! I totally had given up hope of seeing it.
- All songs from Year Zero kicked ass. I never thought they'd translate well live, but they totally do.
- Ghosts stuff was great.
- During the greater good: How come nobody on here ever talks about Trent's huge-ass face on the screen during this song!? Seriously, that was the coolest thing I've seen at a concert.
- Terrible Lie was one I hadn't heard of them playing yet this tour, so I was surprised. I have never liked the song much, on any recording I've ever heard of it, but now that I've seen it live in person, I totally understand why they keep playing it. Kickass.
- Same for Head Like a Hole.
- In This Twilight is quite possibly the greatest ending song ever created.

Wow...clocked him?! Please give my sincere thanks to Kevin then. After he told me some dudes wanted at me, as if I wasn't already anxious enough up there, I was really upset. In a sense I'm happy the crowd in center GA was as brutal as it was last night, 'cause even if someone wanted to get at me purposely, it's pretty much impossible unless you're the size of J.T. from NIN camp or you just get lucky. But now I've decided I'm officially not doing rail at Toledo, as much as it pains me to say ('cause that show is going to be small), all I have to do is breath to feel the pain alongside my entire chest from last night.

Well what can I say, it was something to remember. I did have troule with the waver thing though because I didn't have any ID since I was my dad's guest ,but I got in. I would've been happy if the just sat on stage and dicuss how they wash their socks, I was so estatic to be there (though I was super happy to hear Terrible Lie, Ghosts 19 and The Big Comedown). I will also give a shout out to Sarah, Fred, Steve and Eric (hoped you liked your seats man, the pit was nothing) for talking to me the whole time we were there. I originally wanted to hang on a side rail ,but instead decided to brave the pit(was about 20ft away). APTBS was alright, but the lights were a bit much. I was also very surprised that I had excellent veiws of all the band memebers besides Robin,and I got to see lots of Alessandro, which made me a very happy girl. The crowd was actully pretty good by me, lots of people knew the newer stuff and were singing/recording. When the band came on, I was shoved 8ft away from my dad and hung around this short guy in a stripped T-Shirt whom was just standing, to keep me supported during the first 5 songs. Then around Gave Up or MOTP I was shoved back to my dad. Now for any of you on the left side of the stage, I was the little scrawy girl in a black shirt playing push back the shirtless mosher(he cleared a 6ft space). Which after he calmed down, I thought "hot damn" and stood next to him because I could see, had plenty of air and no one would go near him. The hurricane rain was pretty nice after coming out the Palace and drive back went smooth too.

Anyway here were the highlights:
-Trent's voice sounded up to snuff.
-Robin was moving all over the stage, so I could see him and his crazy dreds.
-Alessandro Alessandro Alessandro.
-The Warning Giant Trent face, people by me were laughing.
-Ghosts were the shit.
-YZ tracks are awsome live, especially Vessel.
-Terrible Lie was nuts.
-Thought Robin did a nice job of The Big Comedown.
-The lights were steller.
-Only's light effects were cool.
-Hurt sounded amazing, lighters were everywhere and pretty much the whole crowd sung along, he also added an s to friend.
-I could here everything, without going deaf.
-In This Twilight was the shit, I liked he just sung the fallseto(sp?) part in his "normal" tone.
-Trent all hardcore and banging the tamborne on his chest and arms.
-Alessandro waved!

and for any body curious, we were let at 5:25 and were able overhear a bit of a sound check and them we were in the stadium around 7:50, APTBS played from 8:00 to 8:38 and nin played from 9:00 to 12:30

Also, he was so chatty during this show; the handful of other shows I've seen he's not said half of what he said last night.

I was standing against the back rail of the sound / lighting booth. When the LED screen came down, somebody in the seats to the right of the stage starting shining a fairly powerful flashlight onto the screen. And I thought, "what kind of DICKHEAD brings a FLASHLIGHT to a show and fucks up the show for everybody else by shining a flashlight on the screen?"

One of the crew guys saw it and went tearing out of there, I guess to go find the guy with the flashlight.

Seems like the flashlight went off when Reznor said something ("who's the asshole with the flashlight?").

Still shacked up in one of the many hotels in Auburn Hills. When I get home tonight I'll sort through my pics and post them. I watched my clip of TF into The Wretched and it's hilarious. I was praying for no Closer, and when The Wretched started, my hands were shaking so badly. Then Penny Marshall came up and made me put it away. I busted it out again after a minute, so I'm SOOOOoooo thrilled gladcarrot got a boot!

I think I was one of those two girls! Thanks for the protection! I still had to get lifted out around Discipline because of all the 300 pound douchebags that think its a good idea to elbow and push their way in front of everyone constantly. I couldn't breath half of the time!

Ok so this was my 3rd NIN show and the best of the bunch so far. I wont have much to say that hasnt been said 1000 times already. The lights and the effects as expected were pretty intense and insane.

My pre-sale seats were to the left of the stage right at the front rail so if I looked straight ahead I would see down the rail and the first row of people, etc. I was worried that it would be a bit of a sharp angle and I wouldnt be able to experience the light show properly.

During APTBS I found out I could go into a luxury box so I moved up there. Free beer and food and a better angle. APTBS I thought were good but the incessant lights were a bit much.

Glad I got to hear The Wretched. Robin Finck is badass. Overall great show. However, I think I like Tool better live.

Anybody feel free to upload it elsewhere when you're done downloading. I'll be done seeding in a few minutes at which time I'm going to let my computer take a little nap before working on the APTBS show.

Why the Cleveland hate? That show rocked and so did last night's. A couple of friends and I decided to hang back for this one for a singular goal - to rock out on one of the Survivalism cameras. Check.

Dancing like nutters for God Given was the bestests eva. I'm sure we annoyed those around us. Whoopsie.

A friend took amazing pics. If she gives me green light, I will post some.

Hey man, thanks for moving to that luxury box. My girlfriend and I moved over into your seats, and moving two seats to the right really made a lot of difference. The view from your seats was actually pretty damn good. Were you the guy with the blue hair or the other one? Either way, it was nice talking to you.

The show was awesome. I actually really like APTBS. I think that their kind of show might work better in a smaller club setting, but I got what they were trying to do. The lights did get to be a bit much at some points, but other than that I thought they were really good.

NIN kicked all sorts of ass. Glad we got the Wretched, a little disappointed that there was no Reptile, but all around it was an awesome show. The band seemed to be enjoying themselves and Trent seemed pleased with the crowd. Also, it was my girlfriend's first NIN show and she loved it. I think her favorite part might have been Trent's scruff, but still. She enjoyed it, and is now willing to make the trip to Grand Rapids in November to see them again.

This was my 3rd time seeing NIN, and I'd have to say it was the best of the three. Robin and JMJ were awesome, and I hope they both stick around for a while.

Not much else to say that hasn't already been said, I guess.

No, I'm pretty sure it was just some asshole in the crowd. I didn't see the flashlight shine on the crowd, at all ... only on the screen, all over the screen. Somebody in the nin.com forum said they were sitting next to the asshole with the flashlight.

Gotta say, the asshole factor was WAY higher at this suburban Detroit show than at the Lollapalooza show.

I got audio and video of most of the show, but I was running late and got there in the middle of 1,000,000. The audio is good to great, and the video is ok to real good at times (I used the fine setting for a couple songs but I was holding the cam way above my head the whole time and was in the pit for a while so...) So it took 3gb of mem sticks and they ended up full right as the battery died at the beginning of in this twilight unfortunately . I'll try and clean it up a bit and get it on tpb or demon like i said in the other thread as soon as I can.

I've been lurking here for awhile, but anyways. That was an amazing show!! The video clips online don't do justice to the actual live experience. It's like porn vs. sex. Amazing job form Trent, the band, and an awesome crowd.

Wow, it was my first NIN show, and it was fabulous! I was the girl right behind you, Pep, and I hope I wasn't hurting you and your friend too badly. I was trying very hard to push back and take some pressure off you guys. I'm in the process of trying to convince my husband to go to the Grand Rapids show with me in November. He had to bail out of the pit during Echoplex due to getting overheated and dehydrated, so he's less excited about going back, but I keep telling him he just needed to push his way forward to get to the water, and he would've been fine. I am still in awe, really. I'm sad that none of my pictures turned out, but all of yours are great, so that's redeeming. I'm glad everyone around us was so cool. Definitely made my first experience a night to remember!

The drumsticks say Josh Freese's on them, and the bottom left pick was just a random one they gave out, while the other two were Trent's.

I had heard of the rather ugly fight for it from another show, so as soon the grabbing for it was over, I tied that sucker to my wrist with my girlfriend's hair tie and luckily held out for the whole show right there at rail. I was there with Finneus and yearzero2022. Honestly, they didn't have to do anything to get the drumsticks and picks....They just happened to be the youngest and smallest kids standing in the front row, and the band saw them. Actually, I didn't see any other kids close to their age there, or at least not anywhere near us. By far the best 13th birthday present a kid could get!!!

Also, I thought it was really awesome that all of the people around us helped keep an eye on the kids and made sure they had a great time and didn't get hurt, so thanks for that!!! Great crowd, INCREDIBLE show...We're definitely going to Grand Rapids!

Nope, no trouble seeing over you at all! I was actually looking over Ciao most of the time as my head was kind of perfectly above hers. It worked out well. I felt really bad for the shorter girl standing to my right as her neck must have really hurt afterwards from holding her head up the way she was, but she was a real trooper. Can't wait to see your pics! I did get a semi-decent one of A Place to Bury Strangers. I don't know why none of my NIN ones turned out quite as well.

haha thats great. glad our seats were somehow better for you. I was the other guy, the blue haired kid is my brother. The box was pretty sweet and it was worth it for the private bathroom alone haha. It was a mid level suite 1 section over from where we were so it had a better viewing angle. Maybe I will see you at the Grand Rapids show in Nov.

Here is a video of The Big Comedown.

So it's been a NIN weekend. Went to the Detroit show Saturday, which was stunning visually and aurally and then this evening met Trent at the park by my house. I had the opportunity to meet him in 1994 (I was on the tour bus) but at the age of 17 was just too shy to say anything when he said 'hi'. Well this time when I saw him I just couldn't believe it. He was sitting with someone else and that made me pause for a moment on whether or not to approach him. I really didn't want to be rude but also I didn't want to regret this moment as well. So I said hello and told him that I thought the show last night was amazing, shook his hand and went on my way. My husband was there with me and afterwards I kept asking him if I had acted kooky, he said I played it fairly well. Off to Toledo after work tomorrow.

I thought the lighting effect for "Only" was interesting.

And I liked the presentation of the "Ghosts" material, with the multi-instruments and very subtle visuals, e.g. the swamp or whatever that was.

This concert was amazing!!!! If you are a NIN fan and you are the fence about going, FUCKING GO!!! I've been a fan for 14 years, 5th time seeing them and nothing will ever top this. This show might've even been better than the Fragility tour. I was bummed that there was no "Reptile", but "the Big Come Down" and "the Wretched" were played. I could not believe what I was seeing during "the Greater Good." On the video screen were blue bubbles that looked like they were breathing with Trent's face appearing as silver during the vocals. The stage show made my jaw drop on more than one occasion. The Ghost set was beautiful!!! Let the rain pour!!!! I was very pleased that they performed Ghost 19 even though I was hoping for Ghost 17. Cortini (I think it was him) was lighting up the boxes on the video screen for "Echoplex" to follow Freese's drumbeat. I was finally sold on "Survivalism" after hearing it live. And yes..........I almost cried during "In This Twilight." It was that touching.

Again, words do not do this tour justice. It has to be seen to be believed.
Don't be the dude that says, "I've seen them 8 times. I'm not missing anything." Well...........you fucking well. If I had more money, I'd be on my way to Toledo.

What a great show. Good seats in the presale. Against the bar so had a foot rest. LOVEd the greater good, and the survivalism security shots were HILARIOUS with the chick on the toilet and phone. No, Trent and Josh (according to the guy who gave them to us) had them personally delivered to my friend and I after In This Twilight. You just have to be lucky I guess...

Well, the tambourine was obviously thrown into the crowd, so if you're lucky enough to catch one, then 'grats.

Finally back to my computer after spending Sunday in Detroit and yesterday at my girlfriend's place and in class. Anyway, was the setlist basically the same as Cleveland except for the different Ghosts material, the addition of The Hand That Feeds/The Wretched, and the change of The Good Soldier instead of Reptile?

I definitely agree that the crowd was livelier than Cleveland, but I think along with that the noise during Ghosts and random boos during slower songs were worse. Sound quality to me is hard to say because I was seated at different places at both shows other than I think maybe this show was a little cleaner all around than Cleveland, but Trents vocals got drowned out a little more.

Damn this is f'd up. I had presale tix for the michigan show for a while. Wife and i had problems, so i took a differnt girl. When we were there she broke in to my place and got a call from her. So that show was kinda ruined(as much as NIN could be). So she had tix to the toledo show. And i was on my way to a buddies and said, fxck it, im going and alone.i have to go living so close to toledo. Just showed up, BOTH shows, GREAT, didnt see my wife, er a ex wife. But she says she met the band and got an autograph and I am the huge fan, with all the halos, and she has this to rub in my face. GRRRR. Just glad to have gone to both.

I wasn't at Cleveland, so I can't compare to that, but I was really disappointed in this crowd and venue. It wasn't my typical hometown Detroit crowd from when I grew up. I'd never been to the Palace, before, and while it seems to be a very nice venue (the Caesar salad at Caesars was actually pretty decent), it lacked soul. I was surrounded by lifeless people, stupid people, people poking fun at goths, people so shitfaced it's a wonder they remembered why they were there, people talking and bitching during the Ghosts material (that didn't happen at Lolla), and a ton of genuine suburban YAHOOS.

At Caesars, some guy who must've been in his late-20s, slicked back hair, wearing a black t-shirt that said "What Would Kirk Do?" kept doing that high-pitched whistle thing ... IN A RESTAURANT. It echoed all over and was disturbing and awful. I winced each time he did it, it caused physical discomfort. Finally, some woman who was evidently a manager came over, touched the guy on the shoulder and said "please, don't do that." A few minutes later, he's trying to teach another guy how to do it. Manager woman runs over there, no, I told you to knock it off. A few minutes later, some guy is leaning over a trash can in the bar, apparently ready to puke into it. Manager woman runs over and asks him to leave. Meanwhile, whistle boy, in a retarded act of defiance, walks out into the venue just outside the entrance to Caesars and does his high-pitched whistle, then struts back into the bar, smirking. He does this a few more times.

Manager woman (attractive, wearing a dress) looks over at us (we were seated at a table, eating), rolls her eyes, sighs, and says "Welcome, Nine Inch Nails."

Some more notes that I can't see mentioned in here (I need new glasses):

* Trent yelled 'WE LOVE YOU' at one point. It was a Kiss moment.

* After Trent introduced the band, he thanked his crew for "putting up with" him

* At that point, this guy threw up his arms, acknowledging the thanks

* The crew guys in the sound/lighting booth are almost as fun to watch as the show. They have eyes in the backs of their heads, I swear

* I noticed that one of the cases in the lighting/sound booth said Firehouse Productions

Ok, I desperatly need more friends who love NIN, or a computer of my own. But i would love it if anyone would have a copy of this concert to a dvd. I dont have the capabilities to download and ive been to a few more shows, but i definatly want to watch this one again and again.

Probably the most amazing NIN show I've ever been to from a visual and audio perspective. A bit sad that my iPod failed to record and that I'm not well enough to have dared go any further than a few feet in front of the sound booth. I tried to take advantage of this to record the show with my iPod, but as happens every freaking time I try to bootleg at the Palace, the process failed. I've only ever gotten a decent recording out of Iron Maiden and TSO at that venue.

I would say that this is the most well behaved I've ever seen a crowd at a Palace Entertainment venue, not counting Trans-Siberian Orchestra which isn't even in the same class. For some reason people always seem to be drunk / dicks at DTE Theatre and The Palace. Then again, I was at the Grand Rapids show 2 years ago, so anything else kinda pales in comparison as far as crowd behavior.

Sadly my arms couldn't take more than 2 minutes of holding the camera over the very tall people around me, so I didn't get good video either, but what I did get will be on Youtube later this week. (Trust me, it's not much of a quality loss. My camera SUCKS.)

A Place to Bury Strangers needs to be fucking buried, as they are. I was actually enjoying the music but the 15 minutes of strobe quickly turned from annoying to pissed off, and I ended up facing the people behind me until they left the stage. If they realize they're not a jam band and fix their light show, they may have a big future, though.

Some songs I did NOT expect were played, and that was awesome. A bit sad to miss Capital G, but can't think of anything I would have given up for it. I was not expecting The Wretched (having heard a recording previously where The Frail led into something else), so that was a pleasant shock. Did I see a ukelale for Piggy?!?

As for that "What Would Kirk Do" guy, he was back by me in the crowd for all of five seconds. That dude was PLASTERED, so I got away quick.
