in that case- glad you had a better view of things in 209- and thanks in a sense for the extra bit of dancing/thrashing room!rockin99 wrote:I was in 120 row 10 seats 3 & 4 immediately after they let us in but we moved up top immediately to see all the visuals. I was wondering the same thing. I saw a guy with the huge videocamera between the VIP GA barricades and the stage. Personally I was hoping it was going to be for a DVD or something, but I'll take whatever I can get.ThinkIcouldburn wrote:Also.....anyone have any information about why there were so many video cameras and crews recording songs? Yeah, there were two cameras on the light structures recording the stage. At least two professional size cameras in the front of the stage. There were at least 3 occasions where a camera man walked down entire railing taking long crowd shots. I really hope some of this footage gets used for something. It was an amazing show that I'd love to have at least parts of in HD beauty.joyus self destruction wrote:I was wondering the same thing. Yeah, really. This tour deserves some kind of chronicling like And All That Could Have Been and Beside You In Time and I'm hoping we'll see something like that in the future, but any kind of footage from this electrifying show would make me happy.ThinkIcouldburn wrote:Yeah, there were two cameras on the light structures recording the stage. We were sitting right behind them in row 10. My boyfriend just flat out asked them why they were at a nails concert, and one guy was kind enough to do a round of introductions. Apparently Robin's family is from Park Ridge/Montvale, which is where I used to live. It was kinda cool to talk to them. It was nice to meet you too. Thanks for taking the tickets (last minute people who bailed) I was so hungry when I met up with you. Had to run back to the car to eat. I had a blast though. It was an amazing show. I've been to a lot of shows in my time, but this one, I believe, tops them. It doesn't beat the best TIME I had at a show, that goes to Maiden with friends years ago, but the show itself was badass.
I was in front and to the right of the soundboard in rear GA. A small mosh pit formed a few times. Nobody was hurt.
Met Reptileseven and scaredsqee from here. R7 I met briefly to buy her GA tix (thanks a million!) and scaredsquee bought my Section 127 ticket. Squee was great to talk to.
And if Steve and Dana are reading this, /wave. I hope Dana wasn't too bruised.
I have pics and vids, but it's just too late to post them now. I'll do it all tomorrow.

Hi. That was me and my boyfriend. He was saying that he wondered who was going to end up next to him, and I said, "someone from this board that I check every so often." So when he asked if I knew where you guys would be from, I jokingly said, "I don't know... Guam?" Totally forgot about the ARG. I had no idea he'd take me seriously. I know, I was surprised with the standing bass, and loved the xylophone, all of it, it's a complete experience. It's funny because I'm listening to PHM right now and thinking how Trent's matured into an amazing artist, PHM is groundbreaking and raw and brutal and he harnessed all that emotion and channeled it into something really beautiful. I never thought that I'd see this back then, imagine reconciling the muddy Woodstock '94 trent with the trent of today. They were smokestacks. The landscape's similar to the opening to "Blade Runner".GhostOfNeon wrote:

I'd love to agree with you, and the thought definitely crossed my mind that that's what they were, but having had what I thought was a great perspective, it really seemed like the TT. I know that there were more than 2, but on the right side, featured quite prominently were two towers taller than the rest, one fire, with one slightly shorter than the other, looking like it was collapsing because of the large plum of smoke which was visible only beneath this one tower. . . I have to stress this fact just in case the assholes happen to read this board. Though I doubt it. A GIANT FUCK YOU to the assholes who came AFTER the show started, sat down and acted bored, LIT UP the second they got there and never seemed to run out of things to smoke, complained, talked on their cell phones in their drawling stoned ass voices, talked some more, smoked some more, then LEFT before the set was over (thank goodness for that part). WHY even bother coming if all you are going to do is ruin it for the rest of us? I regret not trying to get them kicked out. I really do. I agree with you! I just meant that the stage set up was inferior to the rest of the set ups, IMHO. Or at least less elaborate.SirChadofwick wrote:
I disagree. While I see what you mean, I think that since Trent's pushing mid-40s, he's not going to fling shit around and hurl himself at Robin anymore just for the sake of it. Imagining an older Trent doing that is actually quite comical. He's being true to his age. He still rocks out though. The show was a bit classier than earlier incarnations which is understandable.

I completely disagree with this. "Hurt" means as much personally, if not more, than it did to me when it came out in 1994 because the lyrics still hold so true for me. Everyone I know is still going away in the end. Naturally you are entitled to your opinion, as am I, and I just want to sort of defend Trent here by saying there's clearly a reason why he's still playing Hurt as an encore at every show. If it didn't mean something to him he would have retired it from the shows, as he has retired other songs like "Down in it" and "Something I can Never Have." I think Hurt still means something to him too and that's why it's still there. I am always thrilled beyond words to hear it live and like I said, it still means the same to me as it did in 94.goneja wrote:
Trent's little speech came off more as "Please don't yell during hurt or I'll get upset" than anything more. Hey, I think he's a great honest guy, I don't think he was lying, but I'm not gonna say I was shocked to hear a speech like that preceeding Hurt where he wants people to shut up and gets pissy if they don't. Sorry, that song should just be retired. It held alot of meaning to him and others 15 years ago, but it is unbearably cheesy by now and a waste of a timeslot in the setlist. Enough Hurt, enough Closer. I don't like The Slip material any better, but I'd prefer to hear more of that than the songs I've heard at every single NIN show for 8 years.

I was right next to them for the whole show. They were pretty insane. Actually, there were quite a few groups of guys shoving people, which is fine as long as you're purposely joining in. That's why I moved. The venue was telling me these were excellent "premium" seats and everything would be moved back when the headliners came on. But my wife and I knew better because we were at the Mohegan show and explained we would not be able to see the screens and a good portion of the visual effects. I was wondering what the heck happened. I saw one EMT run past in front of the stage, then another run past with a cart/stretcher sort of thing. They never came back the way they entered so I was thinking something really bad happened. Hope they're ok. Sucks to go to a concert and end up in a hospital.bazz wrote:I kind of doubt that because this girl was out cold on the floor and taken away.Reptileseven wrote: I wonder if this was the same girl (or part of the same crew) with the tooth problem. That guy fucking ruled! Wow, that really sucks. Makes you wonder if someone who works at the IZOD didn't take the tickets. I think you will be fine for the rest for your shows, though. The crowd is always into Head Like a Hole, but I NEVER heard them overpower the band like that. I looked around and everyone I seen (with the exception of my girlfriend who didn't know the song) was singing along. The atmosphere during Hurt was also the best I've ever been a part of.lukasjudge wrote:Just so everyone knows, I went to five shows on this tour (MA would've made six) including both IZOD and Philly, and although I liked the Philly set list a little better, the IZOD beats Philly easily. I agree with you about the crowd. I am still pissed because it was an amazing show and I had to put up with the assholes in the front of the pit. I know I've posted pretty much the same thing already in this thread, but I still get angry thinking about it. I was a few people to the right of center and about 4 people back, and the motherfuckers behind really deserve to die. There were so many cool people in the front trying to enjoy the show and those idiots just wanted to go around and assault us.theevilgumby wrote: bad part about this-The fucking front pit sucked. Ok im a girl but im fairly tall and so is my friend and ok fine its mostly guys around. Call me a wuss but I usually can stand my own ground in mosh pits but this was fucking insane. The crush If the two large motherfuckers who kept bum rushing the people behind me and then came up next to me attempting to put me in the choke hold yelling "FEEL THE CRUSH" I hope you enjoyed the punch to the face repeatedly. That was my thank you with 12 years of karate behind it. But im still pissed I had to move back a little my spot was amazing.
yeah see this was my reason I was pissed at this plus I had grandpa zombie take 10 min putting a wristband on. This was my first NIN mosh pit (seen them seated and been in countless other pits for other bands). I had a kick ass spot 2nd person in, in front of Trent and I wanted to fucking keep it. And dont get me wrong I know how to fight I was in karate forever, and im used to pits. But right after "only" this guy kept attacking me after I didnt respond to "wow your hair smells good"comments. I am 5'7 and im normal weight, and I could handle the crush. The fight from behind I couldnt see or know where it was coming from , not so much. Motherfuckers pushing the center in and then attacking me cause I was the tallest girl in the area was fucking annoying. I feel bad for my friend who had to back up during ghosts and for the the shorter girl I gave a ride too who had this asshole wrap himself around her body then preceded to head bang like he was attacked by bees all concert. I was stupid and didnt eat much during the day. But fuck I wanna look at trent 5 five feet away, the band, and the lights not deal with some motherfucker deciding to elbow me in the temple/put me in headlock cause I was keeping the spot, grab my boobs, yell in my ear TRENT YOUR MY WET DREAM OVER AND OVER . The show was amazing even after I moved but fucked I wanna fucking kill that guy for making me move.dancingcorpse wrote:This show has left such a bad taste in my mouth; I am just now beginning to calm down about it. First I would like to thank the idiots with the difficult task of putting wristbands on for giving me the wrong wristband even though you had both colors in your hands. I enjoy waiting for hours just so I can get up close and then having you dumb fucks ruin it all. And when I find you to tell you that you fucked up you just stand there and look at me like I have three heads. Thank god you people are so incompetent that you did this to many people because you sure as shit didn't react or care when I brought the issue up. So a big fuck you Izod. And as a result I had the pleasure of getting the prize spot next to the huge douche bags that only wanted to kill everyone near them. I enjoy having a mammoth of a man look at the 5'5" 125 pound girl before them, and then taking their other mammoth of friend and swinging them directly into my face. I can handle the pit. I have done it numerous times. I love it and would rather be nowhere else at a Nine Inch Nails show. But I just do not understand why go to a show if the only thing you want to do is kick people's faces in. And every time I tried to move away, you fuckers seemed to find your way to me and kick my ass some more. I could not escape. It all just sucked. And it is of no fault of the band, who put on a kick as show. I was just unable to enjoy it when I was having the living shit kicked out of me everywhere I went. I spent more time tying to move away from you guys then I did watching my favorite band. Eight shows, and this is unfortunately the worst one I have been to as of yet. Sucks because I loved the setlist, the band was tight and the lights and stage for this tour are just sick.
Wow.sucks for you. i had to deal with a big lesbian who wouldn't f**** move even after a tiny girl was fighting to keep the spot, which i had grabbed 1hr ahead of you! how does it feel jerk? push over someone your own size!!theevilgumby wrote: But right after "only" this guy kept attacking me after I didnt respond to "wow your hair smells good"comments.

I agree..I am so grateful to have a video of this show, but I was really disappointed that Trent's speech before 'Hurt' is not included. That was one of the highlights of the show for me.
