Also, TDS is probably the best performance (music or otherwise) that I have ever seen.

I'm not a religious man, but i'll kneel down at my bed tonight and pray that someone taped this show, and will do so every night until a recording shows up.

It was so different, raw and fresh that a decent memento really is needed. All of the guys little nuances they added were so fucking epic, especially TR's synth and vocal stuff. And Rubin was a fucking GUN tonight. I've heard lots of shows in my 15 or so years of being a fan, hundreds, and i dont wank on lyrically about every second show i hear/see, but this was something red-fucking-hot. Easily in the top half a dozen i've seen or heard. And it did have a real finality about it didnt it?

Who knows? Maybe SOMEONE could maybe upload A REALLY TOP NOTCH PROFESSIONAL quality version of this show, that was maybe recorded via that live pro tools thing, to TPB sometime soon maybe? Seeing as it's probably gonna be the last headlining show in Australia for a really, really long time? And it really does deserve it...It was one out of the box.

It'd be really great if someone posted in here very soon saying something along the lines of - "be careful what you wish for, kids..."

Yep - amazing show. Trent saying "since we announced we were coming to an end, these shows have meant a lot more to us".

When they played "The Beginning Of The End", the lights on stage stayed "all on" for the first half of the show - like a "tribute" - and it felt like he really was saying that "This is the Beginning Of The End - of Nine Inch Nails"

Agreed - very different to previous shows - the bass "run" for BURN was on keyboards, not done on the bass fret's - and EVERYONE on stage had a keyboard at hand.

Who was the guy filming during BURN - looking liked a digital SLR, with a microphone, but like he was video'ing - not taking photos.

YES - Head Like A Hole was in there - and WISH went fvcken OFF !!

That's 6x for me - will be 7x following SoundWave...

Sorry but I don't think this was an 'amazing' show like previous posters.

I would have taken any of The Metro shows over this one. Highlights were La Mer, Frail/Wretched, Reptile/TDS. Is it just me, or did Sydney get 27 some odd songs on Tuesday night and we only got 23?? The 'minimal' effect of these shows, although probably more fun for Trent, don't come close to what they must have been doing production wise late last year on the LIS tour.

If that's it for NIN in Australia, 5 tours in 14 years will be good in my books. Alternative Nation show still wins for mine.

There was a dude with a pretty expensive looking camera behind us filming most of the show, but he got busted and dragged off by security during Hurt, so I doubt we're going to be seeing that one.

First of all, Festival Hall can bite me. Those of us with general tickets didn't enter the venue til well after 8pm as they didn't bother to open the doors until maybe 7.50pm for our door.

I'm really not sold on the 1,000,000/Letting You opening combination. I thought it would work well, but it doesn't for some reason. Crowd probably didn't get going til MoTP.

Not really any surprises in the setlist, got to hear Discipline and Head Down for the first time so that was cool and I always like The Frail/The Wretched. Reptile was really fucking heavy. Deads Souls can FOAD. Sound kinda sucked from where we were standing though.

It's weird but my favourites of the night were definitely the old hits - Wish, Gave Up, The Hand That Feeds and Head Like A Hole were definitely the ones to rock the fuck out to. And you all missed an EPIC ho down during THTF.

It was fucking hot and sweaty inside, I'm glad the day hadn't been any hotter or it would have been unbearable. Trent made a comment on the heat in the venue along with another speech about how he's taking a break etc, nothing different to what was already said in Sydney.

Not the best show I have seen, but it was a fun one.

Hopefully Rob uploads his video of burn.

My god, were they on fire or what? Trent's intensity made this show by far the best I've seen.

Trent was very chatty and threw in a couple of jokes which was nice
"Lets push some buttons and see... what... happens..."
"...I've been trying to get pacman going on this thing but it seems to only make noise..."

Unlike the 05 and 07 shows trent seemed to be really appreciative... and we got the encore!

The crowd was great, not too crazy and during the frail, la mer and hurt you could hear a pin drop...

I was in front of robin with the girlfriend... and forgive me for saying so, but I have the feeling he was completely smacked out on something... but was entertaining to watch...

Something really pissed off trent during hurt, he was shooting looks at the sound guys and after the first chorus went to the mic behind behind the keyboard, which i assume links up to the sound booth, yelled something then kicked it... so in that regard.. SUMFING GOT BROKEN!!1!!

Still kind of buzzing... like EYB i really hope somebody got this on video... awesome show, great setlist, great intensity... awesome stuff...

Oh yeah, and Jaguar Love were actually pretty cool! The singers voice reminded me of a young Blixa Bargeld... pretty cool...

Definite highlights (with the exception of the speeches):

This show was pretty squishy down the front but otherwise excellent. While debriefing last night I figured its pretty fucking hard to play a set to please everyone when you've been going for 20 years with a huge amount of very varied material.

I really dig Discipline live and the other stuff of the Slip which to be perfectly honest doesn't really rate with me according to Itunes. I really hope that they do come back before the end of the yeah but that's just wishful thinking like hearing The Day the World Went Away instead of SICNH. *hint hint*

Can't wait for tomorrow when there will be room for epic hodowning!!

Also thankyou to everyone in the line - we all looked after eachother and it worked out awesomely. Except for the person who decided to squeeze her way in last night you just earned yourself bad line karma you'll probably get a boot in your head next show.

The unspoken 'race' to get to Melbourne from Sydney after the show was for those who dont enjoy sleep during NIN tour. Again a good bunch of people at the front who looked out for each other getting in the door and to the barrier. As Steph posted, if your not in line first thing in the morning, dont bother trying to edge your way into the barrier when everyone stands up 10 minutes before the show starts. You show that you are rude and have no manners.

Best experience I have had yet at Festy Hall. This place is the biggest hole I have had the displeasure of seeing a show at. After Sydney and prior to entering this venue, I wondered if all their lights would fit on the stage. The lighting set up makes the stage look very spacious, despite not being an arena sized stage.
Got in around 7:15pm, tickets handed out shortly before and then it was in the door. No queues outside tonight. The rules that JT comes out and tells everyone are a bit funny.

First few songs off the Slip to get the show going. Discipline I enjoyed more at this show than the night before. Get your dance on. Better people around me in the crowd perhaps.. March of the Pigs had massive surges in the crowd and everyone screaming the lyrics. The Frail/ The Wretched combo back to a few song into the set had a massive response to them. Excellently heavy and spot on.

Rob was onstage during most of Burn filming with that rad camera of his. For whatever reason I dont like the current arrangement of Survivalism. Its just not a favourite of mine. Gave Up again just went off. When the Fragile started it was as if everyone was waiting for the song to come. The crowd matched Trent lyric for lyric and silence during the quiet bits. Awesome song. Non Entity was cool and the Good Soldier was good to hear again as well. The usual main set closers from LITS (HTF, HLAH) ended the main set in Melbourne too.

And we got an encore. TDS is great, nice to hear this rare one again on a nightly basis after many years of absence.

The Beginning of the End: I loved this song as an opener on the 2007 tour, and was lucky enough to hear it at most of the shows I went to. It seems weird in a way to now have it near the end of the show. But, this version compared to 2 years ago is awesome. I took my ear plugs out during this song to get the full intensity of it Awesome song.

Dead Souls again was fantastic. We could hear them sound checking this earlier in the day. Hurt finished off the show. It was a good version with no one yelling stupid shit, instead just singing along.

TR made a comment about how the people in the front row were much better looking that the those in the US. Then that it was really hot in the building and we didnt look very sweaty, did we all uses lots of anti-perspirant before we came? It was pretty hot during the show but not nearly as hot as that place gets when its hot during the day of the show. (It was only 25 yesterday.) Additional comments about how since they have decided the end is coming soon, every show has become more precious/ memorable (or something to that extent). Not a heap of talking, the band introduced towards the end of the encore.

All the water that was being passed out during the show.. thanks for that! Easy to tell that is coming from the band on this tour and not from the venues.

If that is the last solo show we get in Australia for a long time to come it was a great way to end off on. Enjoyed every minute of it!

My thoughts: Finishing on Hurt sucks, and I really really realllllllly want them to play The Great Destroyer tomorrow. Other than that, awesome show!

Great show - really great. The setlist was badass, but it will never compare to the setlist of the last NIN show I saw back in 2007:

Also, last time they had Josh Freese and Aaron North, which was also awesome. However, I am really fucking glad to have finally seen Reptile live. And the shit off The Slip was awesome too. I'm a little disappointed that I could work my way into the mosh until after 1,000,000 was over.

I do agree that finishing with Hurt kinda sucks. But that's because I'm somewhat biased against Hurt. Great song, but way overplayed, and I've always found the hand-on-heart, cigarette lighter in the air shit to be, well, not my thing. Also, the guy singing along at the top of his lungs right next to me had possibly the worst singing voice in the history of mankind.

I now have to figure some way to see Vessel and the Great Destroyer live. Fortunately, I'm actually gonna be road tripping around the USA during the NIN/JA tour.

I cannot stress how awesome it was to not see Aaron up there flailing about. The neck twisting machine that is Robin was freaking awesome.

Awesome set list. But I just think Festival Hall is a piece of shit venue. It's the first time I've been there and hopefully the last. The whole setup just seemed amateur and not adequate for such a huge band. Maybe I was just tired and cranky.

Set-list was awesome though. I loved it, and I think 1,000,000 is a perfect opener. Reptile and TDS rocked my socks off.






I just felt Brisbane's Soundwave was better, bar the setlist.

Aaron was fucking awesome. He brought a crazy energy to the band. I really miss the bluesy solo he inserted into Wish.

What I love about NIN live is that it is nearly the opposite of studio NIN. Studio NIN is produced to the nth degree. Live NIN is raw and excessive and awesome. Aaron embodied that in a way that Robin just doesn't.

WRT Aaron vs Robin ... it's a matter of opinion. Robin just doesn't have that constant look of disappointment on his face.
