The first (and, hopefully, not the last) Nine Inch Nails show in Romania was well worth the wait. Although they had a delay of approximately 15 minutes, due to equipment setup issues (btw, Primal Scream did a GREAT job in setting the mood for NIN), we got a great performance. Trent seemed generally pleased with the crowd, which was cool, because there weren't many NIN fans in there. However, at one point, many of us started shouting "Nine Inch Nails!" in between "La Mer" and "The Fragile", and although he had said "Thank you!", he said it again and that time his appreciation seemed even more genuine.

After Suck (which had a minor technical glitch @ the beginning, as you can see in Rob's NIN Twitter vid - looks like Trent accidentally pushed something on his Lemur), he remarked that it was the first time they were here and that it's a "pretty fucking cool place". Afterwards, he introduced the rest of the guys.

As for stage violence, Trent smashed his keyboard during Terrible Lie (he initially pulled the keyboard stand, but it didn't fall off the first time, so he grabbed it and pulled it again, at which point it fell; fortunately, it seems, only the mic had suffered some damage) and did the classic mic stand throw at the beginning of the second verse in MOTP.

Being a drummer and a Josh Freese fan, I must say Ilan is doing a pretty good job with the band. At his age, he is quite impressive. As for Robin (discovering NIN during the With Teeth era, I'm an Aaron North fan), I give the man his due credit. Last night, he gave his everything and his stage presence was cool. Justin generally kept to himself (during The Fragile, it was really cool seeing him with his head propped up against the stand-up bass, eyes closed), but he also had his crazy/cool moments (see below). No screw-ups from anyone and they were really tight.

Personal faves were Heresy, The Collector (didn't expect that one, but, being here for the first time, I guess it was a treat for us Romanians), La Mer, The Fragile and TDTWWA. During Somewhat Damaged or Terrible Lie, Justin tried to pull an Aaron, by humping one of his Aguilar amps. It was pretty funny to watch, but he managed to pull it off quite nicely. Trent changed three different types of upper body garments during the show, sporting a Year Zero era black jacket as his last outfit for the night, the weather getting increasingly chilly during the performance.

As I had a privileged position (one of the first people on the rail, on the right side), I saw Rob in front of me, taking pics for Flickr, shooting a minute and a half of Suck and then some more photos for the travel blog. Of course, I took the opportunity of taking some pics of him and the band, which I will post, hopefully, very soon.

amazing show. wasn't expecting something like that @peninsula and i was pleasantly surprised. Enjoyed all of it, especially 'The Way Out Is Through' and 'Gone, Still'.
There was also some wild pushing and shoving in front in the crowd at the beginning and my glasses got knocked off (and probably trampled on) but luckily my sight isn't that bad so i got to see Trent sweat

The setlist was amazing, no The Slip but that really wasn't a problem!
I wanted to see Metal, I'm Afraid of Americans and (especially TDTWWA) and guess what?! I think I had a ningasm when I heard the first sounds of TDTWWA.

First Nine Inch Nails show, and maybe the last one, i saw and it was AMAZING. Great setlist, I really wanted to see Reptile, but it was ok even without it.

I can't believe how amazing this show was!
When I arrived at the festival (from the previous NIN show in Budapest) my expectations went down rather fast. I was really afraid that there wouldn't be much of a crowd. And I am so happy to be proven wrong about it.

It was my fourth NIN show (and the last, if Trent doesn't change his mind) and I have to say it was the most intense I've been to.
It's been a cathartic experience for me - something that I didn't feel at the previous shows in Paris and Budapest. I got completely absorbed by the show. So raw, so aggressive, so beautiful.

I don't know if it has anything to do with the fact that it was a dream come true, something I fought for and believed in (along with a handful of people). This time last year, when I dared to dream I could see NIN in my homeland (and made it public), I was labelled "unrealistic", "naive", etc. And now... here we are, talking about an actual event, in the past tense.

I'm getting too emotional all over again

The setlist was very similar to the one I've witnessed in Paris, with a major happiness-inducing-difference: "Metal". I so wished for it! Also, very pleasantly suprised to hear The Collector. But I really didn't care what the setlist was going to be. The entire show was a highlight, with the strength and the flow of it all.
I may be subjective but the feedback between band and audience seemed so powerful to me. Trent looked towards us (right-side, at the rail, in front of Robin) a few times and I think I stopped breathing for a while when we made eye-contact. Each and everyone on stage seemed to be really into it. Even JMJ seemed more lively than before.

All in all, together with the Budapest show, this was the single most fabulous weekend of my life so far. Mind-blowing music, lovely people around me and surreal memories.

So ONE BIG THANK YOU to everyone involved: NIN, the audience, the new-found-friends (you know who you are)!

Oh... and even though I had my big fat camera with me, I didn't take a single picture. I was way too busy losing my mind and rocking out. So I can't contribute much to the archiving of this experience but I'm glad to see a lot of you guys managed to snatch quite a lot of pics.
Did anybody record high-quality audio at this show? I'd love to get my hands on that.

Same here. I really liked that one. In Budapest I was standing in the first row, but this time me and my girlfriend were standing far away from the stage. It was a different experience. The light show was fantastic there and nobody pushed us. It was like a movie.

I really wanted to listen the Romanian show on my iPod, so I grabbed the audio from the YouTube videos. They're worth shit, but it's better than nothing. Hopefully a good quality recording will pop up in the future.

Please note that these are 64kbps mp3 files and it's not a full recording.
Missing songs are the following:
