Show was fantastic, IMO. I'm sure the setlist's already covered in the discuss-setlists-as-they-come-in thread, but highlights that I can remember for me were Last, Head Down, 1000000, Letting You, Lights in the Sky, and a very silly Peter Murphy (who did NOT do Reptile tonight, which is really all for the best).

Errr... yeah, perhaps more at some point when I can actually think again. Oh, and the Aragon is a very pretty venue; gave a nice ambiance. The $3 small cups of water put something of a damper on that though. :)

I think they tried to dicktease us into thinking we'd hear broken all the way through. Pinion, Wish, Last, then they pulled out discipline. Still a great show, it was great to hear the fragile and dead souls really rocked.

^^ totally fell for it! Thought they were going to do it! I could almost taste "Happiness In Slavery"! Doh!

i also was thinking BROKEN but alas.. i want to hear HIS live also. great show tonight! so me and my buddy are at lou malnati's pizza (which someone suggested) but they close at midnight. we're going back to the hyatt bar afterwards. i'm wearing a gray nin hotline shirt (courtesy of the dickhead from faction). maybe see some of you there!

My ears are a-ringin'. Man, I'm old. Good show, though, had a great time.

holy shit that was AMAZING! the setlist was completely unpredictable and chock full of awesome. I have no idea how tomorrow can possibly top this. I can't wait to find out though!

Saw them at Lollapalooza last year, Charter One this year, & this blew both shows out of the water.

The three songs they've been doing this tour that I most wanted to see got played (Last, Down In It, Dead Souls), so I'm wondering what they'll do tomorrow night to top it.

& since Peter Murphy didn't do Reptile tonight, I'm guessing that's one of the songs he'll do tomorrow. When Trent said "You never know who might come out", I was kinda disappointed that it's "Oh, Peter Murphy just like the LAST two shows", but at least they ended the NIN Wave Goodbye Tour show with NIN songs, not with Peter Murphy like the last NYC show.

Chicago crowds suck. Three Chicago NIN shows for me and the crowd was terrible at all of them. That plus a venue that was much larger compared to the NYC venues and couldn't be bothered to kill a lot of the lights pretty much made for a subpar evening. Way too many drunk frat boys and people who didn't seem like they were there to see the band. Do you really need to buy three beers at a time? Would it kill you to not yell if you need to talk to your fellow drunk bitch friends during the set? Since when is making out throughout the show, including to romantic classics like 1,000,000 acceptable? Oh, and a big fuck you to the guy who yelled "Play some of the good NIN songs" during TDS.

For me, it was a solid show. Not great, but not bad either. I'd put it somewhere around #6 or 7 in my top ten. The wide-ranging and long setlist was definitely a treat. I'm not going to copy/paste from the follow-along-thread, but the person that posted the full setlist has everything in order (confirmed by the notes in my phone).

And I'll tell you what- if Trent performed Terrible Lie 30 times tonight, that stage would have been completely destroyed. I love how he gets all smashy, roid-ragey, or whatever you want to call it, during that song.

And that was my first time hearing Mew. I kind of dug them. I'm definitely going to check out more of their stuff.

Oh, and the rumor swirling around the venue was Richard Patrick was supposed to be the special guest tonight. Unfortunately he couldn't swap his shift at Wendy's, so we got Gramps tonight instead.

Sweet Banged and Blown Through cover. I was kind of hoping Saul would join but oh well. Not the biggest Peter Murphy fan but it was differant. Great setlist as always. The Aragon was very nice. But I think that if you are not allowed to smoke inside you should be able to leave and come back.

Wow. I loved it. Played a wide range of songs. However I could have done without peter Murphy. I'm sure we will get the same tomorrow night. Maybe we will get a highlight and see the old fart keel over. I was on the rail in the center. It was interesting to see the people in the pit worn out and tamed half way through the set.

I just got back from the venue. This was excellent. Everything went perfectly. Great, long setlist, great songs, great atmosphere. I was really worried about the sound. Mew was adversely affected by the poor acoustics. NIN rocked hard though, and sounded great. I'm attributing part of that to gradual hearing damage through the night, and the perception of better sound towards the front of the pit. Despite a few minor annoyances by some real shitbags in the crowd, I really enjoyed this show. I'm sort of glad I can't find tickets for tomorrow's show, this was a perfect ending for me.

P.S. Big thumbs up to the guy who wouldn't let that train of poeple push through to the front after Mew finished. I felt vindicated.

Just got back. Good show. Not sure about the Aragon Ballroom though. They had 1 door, downstairs, for 5000 people, or how ever the f many people there were, to get out of after the show.

I was thrilled to hear "Down In It". Fucking awesome man.

Yeah, the crowd was a bit raucous. But their chatter during LITS translated into great enthusiasm overall. That place roared for most of the night. I thought it came across as sincere appreciation for a band they love. And I felt that Trent caught that too and tossed it back to us. Long set list was great. We tuckered out before he did, I tell ya. His energy was amazing.

Gotta say, though - thanks, Peter, now go home. You aren't on the bill.

Cock teasing bastards! Haha, no Broken. Oh well. I've never seen Dead Souls live so that was awesome. I'll of course be punching myself in the face for not going tomorrow when I find I they did The Fragile front to back with The Perfect Drug and And All That Could Have Been, but whatever. Good show. Some of you bitches needed to get into the show more though! Now I need to sleep. Peace.

Well I thought it was a great show. Trent was on fire, being fed from the energy of the crowd. It was nice to see. My gripe is not with the music in anyway but with the people talking through it. Too much chatting/texting during quieter moments. Off for show 2.

Good show, but a bit of a letdown in certain spots. I think Discipline, and all of the cover songs, were really a buzzkill and we could've easily gone without them. Almost made the show too long. If they would've gone from Down In It straight into a small 1-2 minute break with darkness then Head Like a Hole and Hurt. All the slip shit and covers caused all of the talking and boredom among the crowd. Don't start playing covers 20+ songs into your set. My 2 cents.

Hey, I had fun, enjoyed myself, danced, etc. The connie's pizza and water really helped during the lame cover songs, so thanks connies for being there for us.

Getting out of that place always begs the question of what it would be like in a fire, as it is like squeezing a mass of humanity out of a tiny asshole going down all those stairs and out the front door.

it was my last show and it already feels like withdrawal...
was on the rail, oh it was rough. still managed to take some pictures :) also, the stage was crazy high! and in comparison with NY shows the venue is surprisingly big.
the concert was great as usual. although I agree that Discipline is a kinda of a buzzkill when you hope to hear HIS after all :)

Great show. Far too many people with their stupid cameras cameras though. I was thrilled to hear down in it and dead souls (Peter Murphy or not). I wish I could go to tonight's show as well but one show is better than none. Thanks to the person who got me a water when I nearly couldn't see anything.

He could have stopped at Last and I would have been happy. Good mix of the rockin' and the soft. Eraser was a great surprise.

Awesome show! I was in the left balcony and the guys sitting around me were really cool. Two guys were filming. I thought the crowd was overall really great. I could practically hear everyone sing in unison throughout the show.

Of course you are going to have the random drunk guy yelling one thing during hurt but that happens at every show. There was some chatter during LITS but it didn't bother me since it was far from me.

Great fucking show and peter murphy on the balcony of the venue was priceless! This is a BEAUTIFUL venue and I was happy they were using it as part of the show.

Let's see what Saturday's show at Aragon has in store.

Mew was amazing! Such incredible talent in that band, and they looked like they enjoyed playing. Kind of disappointed with the Broken cocktease that turned into NIN Greatest Hits, but that is ok. The setlist was kind of an incoherent mess, but with a lot of great songs. Peter Murphy was good, but I was disappointed it was him. Anyone notice all the fuckups? Trent messing up the words on Head Down, Ilan and Robin playing a couple notes over and getting nasty glares from Trent, and Trent's earpiece problems which led to the Terrible Lie destruction. Pretty funny. I was on the rail on the right side in the Electric Wizard shirt, met some cool people.

The show was fantastic! Even with the "Broken cock tease" I was elated to hear Last! The middle was filled with slower songs but all amazing too minus the douchbags who took the oppurtunity to shout during the middle of the show. I was skeptical about Peter Murphy but I LOVE Joy Division and he surely did not one but TWO! Joydivision songs justice. Dead Souls was the other song I really wanted to hear. I'm excited to hear what Trent has in store for tonight!!

Best parts: Last, Eraser (I fucking lan!), Downward Spiral.

It was definitely worth going 4 hrs early to get a good spot in line, i saw everything perfectly and my sista got her merch easy. I fended off people, and I will continue to do so, seeing as I got there early (no cutsies). If I accidentally punched anyone in the balls who was trying to push, i'm only sorry I didn't punch harder.

The band was waaaay better than at Charter One. Trent's voice especially. Again, we all could've used And All That Could Have Been, but he's forgotten he wrote that song, so that's okay. Hurt was beautiful, I wish people liked LITS more.. (Still feel Right Where It Belongs is the best way to end any show on a whimper.) I wish the surprise would've been Reptile in the mud, not so much Peter Murphy touching everyone awkwardly on stage.

P.S. I actually went to the Staind show the night before, and I have to say, the best part of either shows was when Aaron Lewis did Outside solo near the back of the audience. That was the loudest and most together I've ever seen a crowd..I'm not the biggest fan, but I even choked up at that.

I couldn't have said this any better. I was surrounded by drunk frat boys who were not even facing the stage most of the time talking and doing shots as if they were back at their frat house. Why pay $70 to see a band if you're not even going to pay attention.

I also got over 10 free tickets to see Manson in Milwaukee. I live in Detroit so I can't go unless there are free plane tickets too.

I recorded to show and will post it this week. The crowd chatter was worse in person than on the disc. Overall a decent recording. I hope to get a better location to see the show tonight and will try to film if I can find balcony seat.

I also taped Mew which is hands down the worst band to ever open up for Nine Inch Nails. Worse than Boris and worse than Fem 2 Fem. They were BORING as hell and I wanted to fall asleep.

Fantastic show. I was right behind the rail, right in front of justin. i was the kid with the lithos, army jacket with patches in my hand, and wearing the new aragon shirt. I got water thrown at me from justin and a thumbs up back when i threw one. Justin is awesome. the best moments for the show for me were:

The show was great! Posting on my phone, so I cant post much. But I was in the balcony, dead center, between two columns haha. It was a blessing in disguise! Had a good view, and I could tape most of the show by setting my cam on the ledge. I managed to get the whole show up to the end of DII usingone cut, and mostly wide shots of the stage and crowd, and I got 3 songs with Murphy on a different cam. Ill post videos and pics Monday. See you guys on the floor tonight! Ill have on my Corona Radiata shirt, only taping if a rare song or something comes up

Can we just get it over with and say Peter Murphy is a member of NIN? I liked The Fragile and Down In It. Can't stop singing Banged and Blown Through.

Last night was good but could have been great.
PHM should have been played all the way thru as a tip of the hat of Trent's time in Chicago. Broken was such a tease. Knowing that NYC got the whole album DWS and 1st night Chicago got a melting pot. I would have rather TR pull what Motley Crue did in 05. Play 4-5 songs off of each album,chronologically starting w/ PHM.
(at least one night this could have happened).

Last night was epic though, finally got to see The Wretched, Last, and La Mer!!!! Would've gone tonight, but my aunt (the one who brought me up here) was bitching about the traffic after the show so it was a no go.

I recorded a good part of the show, but I never expected them to open with Pinion/Wish!

But then, the pit. A special bunch of assholes. I was on Robin's side, and when Wish started I ended up in front of Trent. Oh and to the fat fucks that were on either side of me: Fuck You. I'll upload my videos somewhere tonight, sound quality is terrible, but I figured whoever is making a dvd or something could use some of it.

Alas, my fifth and final NIN show.

After driving four hours plus nearly two hours on trains, I finally arrived at the venue just as Mew went on. I landed a perfect center balcony spot and had the best view of the band I've ever seen--that is until about half way in some drunk fucking skank shoved me and pulled her roided out boyfriend up with her and got directly in front of me. The guy looked like he was about one adrenaline injection from exploding, so I didn't say anything.

Words cannot accurately express the hatred and contempt I have for this woman. Between her pounding beer after beer and her stupid fucking grinding during The Downward Spiral, I nearly pushed her off of the balcony out of respect for everyone around me. Her boyfriend wasn't too big of a prick and was at least conscious of me being shorter than him and tried to move a bit so I could see.

Fortunately, with persistence and luck I managed to get a clear view of the band for the remainder of the show after three songs.

Peter Murphy was a nice (albeit half expected) surprise, and I really enjoyed the Joy Division covers. The duet of Dead Souls was incredible.

And with regards to the Broken cocktease, I hear you. I was a bit pissed when I heard Discipline instead of Help Me I am in Hell. However, I was very pleased with setlist and it was nice hearing Terrible Lie again. Man, Trent went fucking nuts during that! I've never seen that much energy and violence on stage at a NIN show I've been to before.

All in all, it was a great time and I met some pretty cool people in Millennium Station waiting for the train to take me back to my car.

It's just a shame that I'll never get to see NIN live again.

What a killer show. I'm still feeling it from last night, and my right ear is still ringing. So worth the trip.

My favorite songs at this show were Last and Down In It. I got two short 35-40 second video clips of both, so it's a nice little souvenir. I took my chances and waited until AFTER the show to try to buy a show poster... bad decision! oh well

Mew is fucking awful. I wanted to blow my brains out watching that shit.
Usually even a horrible opening band can make my foot start tappin'. But GODDAMN. I was pounding beer during their set too.

I remember people complaining about the crowd at the Charter 1 show earlier this year. I had a different experience then too. Everyone said it was tame. But there were people being pretty rough as I recall. Personally, I don't feel like movin' too much these days and prefer too drink beer and bob my head.
Judging from multiple times I heard. "I'm getting too old for this." throught out the night. The nails crowd is aging with me.

I also filmed some bits and pieces of the show. It came out kinda decent too. I didn't film much, I realized I was watching the show through the viewfinder and that bothered me somehow.
oh well, I'll post a link when I edit it to my likings.

The crowd is getting old but still rockin' out. I'm 33 and first saw NIN in 94 at the UIC pavillion. The women in front of me were older than me and all around me were probably in their early/mid 30s. I really didn't see any high school aged kids at all. I still had an incredible time and everyone around me seemed to really enjoy the show.

As a counterpoint, I've had pretty much the opposite experience at my past three Chicago shows. Specifically on Friday, I met nothing but really nice friendly people; I ended up moving around quite a bit during the night, perhaps I just didn't stay around in one place long enough to experience it or something. :) Anyway, just a quick note in defense of Chicago crowds.

I dont normally post on these boards, but i just wanted to point out that NIN's lighting guy deserves an amazing amount of respect.

I spent the evening at FOH (front of house, where the sound & lighting guys are) because i brought my mother to the show (she's liked NIN since i started listening in '93) and didnt want her getting smashed up. Anyway, we had a nice view of the stage and the crowd was lighter so we could move around a bit.

What i didnt know, however, is that the lighting guy was doing all those effects live. All the strobing, sync'd flashes, everything, he was doing live. Jumping around, singing along, etc. It was like a second performance to watch, and it was awesome. The console he was using took a fair bit of abuse, but it held up. For any of you LA kids reading this thread, keep an eye on the FOH. It's a sight to behold.

I still am in awe looking at this setlist that I saw this show. It was incredible. I finally got Last, Discipline, The Downward Spiral, 1,000,000...it was epic.

I'm favoring the feel of the second night over this one, but the setlist of the first is definitely second to none. The crowd both nights sucked but this night, ESPECIALLY it was annoying. I couldn't move anywhere without having some idiot continually move further and further into my field of vision. My buddy and I were 15 feet back from the disco ball in the center (I was wearing a royal blue t-shirt with "Martin Luther Crusaders" on the front in baseball font and a big white 6 on the back).

Some brah and his gf (she was insanely hot, I'll give him that) showed up and just barged in right in front of us started making out during 1,000,000 and were making out hardcore during Survivalism. wtf?

Peter Murphy was meh...I liked Kicked in the Eye but otherwise I could've done without him.

I cannot believe how incredible the sound was in the Aragon. It was completely enveloping from all sides at all times. So thick, lush and brutal. It was AMAZING during Wish when the entire crowd singing drowned out the band.

I hope someone got some audio recorded of this show! I can't wait to relive it.

Yeah, this show was on my 32nd birthday and that was my first show, too (Sep 3, 1994). There was a couple to my left where the woman was definitely mid to late 50's and the guy looked around 60ish. That lady was GROOVING, too. She especially seemed to love "Terrible Lie".

Sorry to hear that...I really enjoyed them, but I think part of that is that I knew most of the songs going into the show. In any case, would you mind uploading their set for us that did like them?

I got kicked in the head early on and then a little while later started to black out so I had to be pulled out of the pit. But not before I threw up over the rail in front of the band, twice. Then I staggered out all the way across the front (looking bombed, I'm sure, and no I had not had anything to drink at all), got put into the first aid area, and missed the rest of the show. GOOD TIMES.

It all got made up for on Saturday, when I arrived to find out my pass was canceled (they all were) and now I'd be stuck in the back when I wouldn't have had to be if I hadn't expected to be shooting.

Edit so this isn't all about me: I preferred The Horrors but Mew was OK enough. And up until the time I left I thought it was a great setlist. Hope the camera crew got some good footage. I screwed up my camera and only got a few shots from Friday night but the ones I did get, they are ON.

Well the sound is really good from the side stage anyway.

Oh and it was great to meet in person a few people from here. Hope to see more of you in LA even if it's just for a minute in line.

I agree that the crowd kinda sucked. Too many SUPER drunk people. It's one of the last NIN shows and you waste it being obnoxiously intoxicated?! One girl wouldn't shut up during "Hurt"....that's just wrong. I also hated how everyone started talking so loud during TDS. I don't know what to think about Chicago crowds but for sure NIN rocked and I will miss seeing them live! There's nothing quite like a NIN show.

I knew the 2nd night would have a better set list.
but...
I saw Nin at the Congress and at The Rosemont w/ Alex, @ Red Rocks ,Palooza, DWS tour 5 times,fraigle once. I had my fill of great memories.
The only thing great about this line-up is that drummer.

thought NIN kicked ass, as usual, but the crowd was definitely not that into it. at least not as into it as they should have been. i couldnt believe the lack of movement when they opened with Wish or even when any rockin' song was played. i still managed to rock out, with a very small group, and had a complete blast!

In defense of Chicago crowds though, i will say that the show at Charter One Pavilion was fucking rockin! There were assholes still (talking during songs and whatnot) but thats inevitable at any concert.

highlights were definitely opening with Wish leading into Last (great Broken tease, wish they went for it though!) and then Eraser was phenomenal!

Oh, i will admit that the crowd was excellent at singing along with songs. Certainly was a highlight as well for songs like SICNH and Hurt.

This show was honestly the worst Nine Inch Nails show I have seen. Set list was typical. The venue was extremely hot and the sound was awful. Crowd was full of drunk frat guys. Also, Peter Murphy is a punishment to the crowd. I feel so sorry for anyone that ended up going only to this Chicago show.

On the other hand, the show on Saturday was easily one of the top shows I have seen (minus the same drunk frat guys and Peter Murphy).

Is there good audio on the web for this show yet?

Also, what is with the health care reform people accosting people as they are walking through the doors or spending $30 for a NIN t-shirt? I know Trent is now preaching his political views, but I really don’t want to be solicited the shows. I don’t think it is right to try and take advantage of the fans. I really don’t want the government, Trent, or any person I saw at the venue in charge of my healthcare or any other aspect of my life.

Really? I had no problems with them at any point including, but not limited to:

Waiting in line
Walking in line
Walking into the venue
Buying a poster
Walking to the floor

Those people were standing there with their fliers held in such a way that IF YOU WANTED ONE YOU COULD TAKE ONE. I never once heard them actually SAY anything about what the flier was unless someone asked.

Unlike those jags that were handing out tickets to the Manson show at the Rave who DID force that shit. I had one of them actually put that packet IN my semi-closed hand as I was standing in line facing the other way.

I think I've had enough time to fully take in all I witnessed this weekend.

The show was great, although trent your still a bitch for teasing us like that with pinion,wish and last. But all is forgiven and we still love you. Thanks for playing Last.

This was my 20th show and I have to say I was happy getting these last chances to enjoy one of my all time favorite bands/musicians at work.
Sure there is songs that I wanted to hear, Happiness in Slavery, Ringfinger, Sanctified, The only time, Now I'm Nothing, Hell even Kinda I want to. But I'm glad in a way I didn't......that always leaves room for the 2014 reunion tour.

On a side note, I see a lot of people bitching about the audience. I don't think its just chicago, since people were coming from all over to see these shows. Although usually chicago crowds do suck. Whoever that guy was that pissed on the floor should of been beat to a pulp. I was in disbelief while I read that, I don't think I've ever seen that at a show.

But for the people complaining about pot smokers and cigarette smokers.
I am a smoker, and I did not smoke anything of any kind the whole time I was in the venue. DO YOU KNOW HOW HARD THAT IS???????!!!!! Especially when your drinking???? BUT I find it funny that you people bitch about that when the deadly choking bile of BODY ODER was fucking overwhelming. I would of enjoyed someone puffing on a huge cigar next to me instead of that. And I hate cigar smoke. It was disgusting and vile. I was drench about 6 songs in to the show, I knew this was comming cause a show at the aragon or the riv in the summer is brutal. But jesus flying fucking christ. The people bitching about the pot smoke must enjoy the smell of ass or something, I thought I was gonna puke it was so bad.

Oh man dude, I hope you're joking, because I already feel embarrassed enough about it. I only thank god I hadn't eaten a huge spaghetti dinner beforehand, or I'd have to wear a disguise to the rest of the shows.

And yes I recovered. I actually forgot to tell the paramedics I was kicked in the head, and after telling someone else later on started to worry about that. But I woke up this morning so I guess overall it was nothing serious. Could have been worse, poor jessamininny (I am totally spelling that wrong, sorry) missed both shows due to being sick. I'd be beside myself with disappointment.

I'm just getting around to writing about this show. It was hands down the best show I've seen NIN perform. This was my 8th time seeing them: once during Fragility, 3 times during With Teeth, twice during Lights in the Sky, and twice during this wave goodbye tour. Each show had their unforgettable moments, but production aside, they played their asses off at this show. The set list was amazing. 31 songs?! Fuck yes.

Me and my wife are from KC, but when we heard about this show we had to go. So, we spent the weekend in Chicago. We made the mistake of taking a cab to the show. $$. Then everybody was trying to get to the back of the line, which was WAY back there. That was easily the longest line I've ever waited in for a show. It went on for what seemed like 1/4 mile.

The Aragon is a beautiful venue. The night sky is a nice touch. We have a venue like it in KC called the Uptown Theatre.

Mew were alright. Before the show I had looked up some of their music. They have two songs that I think are really amazing: New Terrain and Special, but I have not been able to get into the rest of their stuff. It frustrates me when that happens.

Pinion into Wish was brutal. Then Last?! First time I had ever heard that. Just like everybody else, I thought we were getting Broken, but alas, we didn't. Considering everything they did play, I'm not disappointed at all.

Lights in the sky was beautiful. The stand-up bass was a great touch.

La Mer....ah. I haven't heard that since Fragility. Thank you. It was awesome.

Trent introduced one of the songs by saying "This is a song we've never played before."...which of course got everyone excited. It was "Atmosphere" by Joy Division. I'm pretty sure this was the first song Peter Murphy played with them (which I was shocked to see. I thought it was just a NYC thing). That was really cool. Granted, mentioning a song you've never played before in front of a crowd of people who lose their shit to "the perfect drug"...anyway. I digress. Again, it was great. I'm not disappointed. Not in the slightest.

DEAD SOULS-unbelievable. Another song I've always wanted to hear live. Peter Murphy sang most of it. Was it me, or did Trent seem irritated?

Eraser-fucking amazing. Hearing thousands of people screaming "KILL ME!" at the top of their lungs: priceless.

Banged and Blown Through-beautiful song. I was happy to hear it.

The Fragile-ah...my lord. It's one of the best songs they've ever written. Thank you for playing it.

Non-Entity-that was a surprise. It's definitely one of their more unique songs. Great synth work by Trent.

Gone, Still-I've always wanted to hear something off of Still. That is a severely underrated album. This was a beautiful piece. It would be great to hear "And all that could have been" one day. We'll see. I heard someone mention 2014. I second that motion.

Gave Up-I don't know about everybody else, but my side of the venue (stage right) was fucking nuts. Especially during this song. Everybody lost their shit. A pretty big pit was perpetually going on. Lots of energy during that song.

There was one song that took the show though. I lost my shit entirely to DOWN IN IT. I couldn't believe it. In the 7 times I had seen them before this was one song that was always notably absent. Everyone was screaming the bridge part, climaxing in "I USED TO BE SOMEBODY!"...that's the energy of NIN personified. Awesome.

After the show there was a madhouse at the red-line train to get out of there. It was funny; entire train cars full of people in make-up, black NIN T-shirts, and boots, among all of these other people who must of been totally perplexed as to what was going on.

Altogether, it was a truly unforgettable experience. I am really going to miss NIN. They have given me some incredible moments. The music world is really going to seem dead with them gone. Good luck with the marriage and time off Trent. Maybe we'll see you again.

Yeah, I was a few people next to the guy that pissed on the floor, but it was night 2 and just before Mew took stage. The guy was obnoxious and sounded like his balls had just dropped a few months ago. He was obviously on something because he wasn't making any sense (even his older brother who was closer to my age in front of him was ignoring him and rolling his eyes with his girlfriend anytime the kid would speak while drinking a beer his brother got for him.) I was over on the railing that cut into the middle of the pit on the left side of it, when the woman next to me freaked out and then i saw 15 other people spread out from this kid who was pissing on the floor and smiling while doing it. The woman got this kid's piss on her leg and at first she thought maybe someone spilt their beer. Disgusting, but thankfully people made it a tough environment the rest of the night for him and he vanished a few songs into NIN's set.

You know, I definitely thought that too. I don't even really recall hearing him sing when Peter called him up there. It looked like Trent kinda mouthed the chorus a bit, but didn't actually make any noise.

I don't remember them playing "Sometimes Life Isn't Easy" the first night so many there is a different song in its place...or maybe I'm just dumb. But I think every other song is the same (check them first to be sure though...).

Not sure, but what I am sure of is how fucking awesome your recording is. The sound is excellent and just being able to relive this night is so fantastic.

I am consistently amazed at how loud we were. Especially right before the climax of Terrible Lie when Trent knocked over his front synth station...the song is almost completely drowned out by cheering! It's insane!

And when people finally recognized/heard Pinion...man. I've had goosebumps pretty much non-stop while listening and I'm only up to Banged and Blown Through.

Shit, I had already moved the folder location and closed out the torrent. So now If i try to reopen the torrent it'll just try to download again. Any ideas how to get around this?

Move the folder back to where your downloads go.

Make sure it's titled exactly the same as the torrent is in your client (leave it alone, unless you changed it).

Open the torrent again.

It will check, and then seed.

OK, right so it's hard to believe that it's been a week since the shows.

I just wanted to share that this block of songs: La Mer, The Fragile, Non-Entity, Gone,Still, and Lights in the Sky, brought on the single most emotional experience I've ever had at a NIN show; halfway through Non-Entity, the tears started flowing.

Anyway, glad that those that went had a great time at the show.

Milk crates, "six inch nails", and things not drawn to scale: just a few things I'd like to throw out there.

It's been over a week, I can't put it off anymore. I'm in NIN withdrawal, and I have to cope with my look back at the show.

I typed a few things out when I got to the apartment after the show, but I know I probably forgot a lot of stuff.

My trip to Chicago started off rocky. Bus from Buffalo to Cleveland was packed so much I had to have my bags between my feet, while some lady slept against me. Put on Ghosts and tried to sleep, got an hour or so. Cleveland to Chicago bus filled up with reboarding passengers, so they were going to send an express bus "as soon as the bus pulls out". 45 minutes later, a bus pulls in, 10 minues later, we get on, 20 minutes later, we finally leave for Chicago. Somehow we made up time, and then some, as I woke up a few minutes before we got to the Chicago exit, around 9.
So, not too bad so far. Plus, a couple on the bus were NIN fans and jealous that I was going to the shows. But then, oh god.
Got to the train station, planning on buying a 3-day pass for $14. Didn't realize you can't buy them at the train stations (wtf, can't buy a train pass at the train station!) I could only put money on a card. Sure, that'd be ok, if I had anything less than a $20 on me. So after what felt like a half hour of freaking out trying to get change for a $20 (somehow nobody had any money, according to them) I finally got change from a parking garage. Woo!
I figured out the bus lines, and the map, and successfully traveled 2 lines and walked a few blocks to my friend's aunt's apartment. My awesome friend. My totally BFF. Like, totally.
So we head out, on our GRAND ADVENTURE TO GO SEE NIN! Ok, less grand adventure, and more train to the venue.

I remember a few things from waiting in line. Like our friends behind us that went to the "hot dog" vendor across the street and came back with two cups. "They're not hot dogs." Oh god, corn in a cup. It was VERY interesting. For those of you who did not try this either night, it goes as follows:
spatula of butter-like-spread
ear of corn cut off the cob
squeeze of butter-like-squeeze-stuff
sprinkle of what looked like some kind of weird cheese
an inconsistent sprinkle cyan pepper (mine had twice as much as my friend's)

I put on my corn starch a bit early the first night, as some of it had already come off by the time we went in.
We got to see a live episode of cops across the street, but they let them go. Booo!

So, we get in, and the girl infront of me feeds me this line how she was there in line since 4 yesterday. Now, the person in the front of the nin.com presale line told us they were there at, I think it was 7? Anyhow, nowhere near 4. So yeah, you didn't have to lie about being there when nobody was there. You also didn't have to threaten everyone around you that they'd be in some serious pain if they try to get your rail. And glare at everyone as if we were plotting to push you out of the way and make out with the rail where you're standing, just to piss you off. But the girl next to her, with the pink/purple hair, you were cool. You like a band's art director a bit much, but you were cool.
Mew was... interesting? Not really my style, and from my perspective nobody really got into them at all. Visuals were trippy surreal through, I did love that. Cats playing violins running toward bears playing violins and tigers in dresses. Sad to say, more interesting than watching the band.

Fast-forward to NIN, becuase that's what the 11 hour bus trip and 6-7 hours of sitting outside was for.
Pinion, Wish, LAST. Holy fuck, everyone swore "this is it, we're getting Broken!" If only. Happiness in Slavery is one of my very favorite songs. Not going to complain though, I got to see Last, and it was fucking killer!
Oh. My. God. When they started playing The Frail, I was so nervous. Now, people, keep in mind: I have heard The Frail 2 times before. First time, into Closer. Which I half expected, because he did that almost every time on LITS tour. Then, NIN|JA, I got so excited, but then it went into Metal. The Wretched is my #1 favorite song, I connect to it, it's my fucking s/n just about everywhere (starting with The Spiral/nin.com). As Trent played the last notes, so slowly, I got so excited. Maybe I'll finally get to see it. I heard Ilan counting down with his sticks (I think that's what I heard) and I KNEW I'd finally get The Wretched. It was beautiful. I sang and screamed along, I probably cried. It was the most epic thing I had ever experienced. I could die happy. Someone could kill me right then and there and I'd be happy. But the list of awesomeness was not over, and a few songs later, Banged and Blown Through. If only Saul had come out to join, but it was still wonderful. Non-Entity was another great high point. I saw it on the summer WT tour, but I only got one show, and I was in a seat. I just can't feel the song in a seat the way I can on the floor. It was beautiful. Robin, thank you. You made that song so much better. And into Gone, Still? Then Lights In The Sky?! This kind of stuff makes me long for a Still-esque tour so bad. Eraser into Downward Spiral was so great, even though I had heard them both before, the chills...
Down In It. Fuck yes Down In It. Felt like NIN came full-circle. Back to where it all began for the last shows.
But then... then HE showed up. I didn't care as much because they did Dead Souls, he didn't ruin it. Still, I love Dead Souls, and would have much rather they played that before Peter "SURPRISED" everyone and joined them on stage. I must say, as soon as Trent introduced him, my boner went away. And as much as I love a good scream-and-thrash during THTF/HLAH, that boner just couldn't get back up.
FYI, I lost it during Hurt, and cried. I'll admit it.

I am excited about this footage, because not only will I get to re-live my last 2 shows, but Robin's camera guy kept pointing the camera at me. I hope they release the raw footage.

After the show, we stopped at Burrito Mexicano (I think that's what it was called, right below the red line) and got THE BEST burrito I've ever had.


My friend got a shot of me saturday in line, but I dressed the same for both shows (changed into a different black shirt, but still).

Just wanted to say a huge, massive THANK YOU to gladcarrot for the audio and video recordings of the Chicago shows

So I finally went through all my damn photos, and I figured I'd post a few. Also, I'm again willing to mail a DVD of all the photos I took at the Aragon (both nights) and the Michigan NIN|JA date (we were 2nd from the front, god they're gorgeous) to anyone who wants 'em.

Haha, I'm excited to post it! Those aren't taken from my video, so I'm sorry if that's the impression anyone got, but the video won't disappoint. It looks kinda grainy, and I have NO idea how I could have fixed that, or if I still can...and there are a couple of parts where the lights really messed with my focus, but it kind of works. My video of Atmosphere is a little in-and-outy and all over the place, and even gets the lady in the balcony next to us, but I think my friend just wanted to tape it because she REALLY enjoyed the song.

Anyway, I'm hitting ANOTHER snag...My computer's charger is shot (I think), so I'm going to have a buddy of mine check it out and see about getting a charger as soon as I can. Then I'll upload and let whoever wants to watch/edit it do their thing!

Double post, since it's been a couple days...

I just got an adapter for my laptop, so I'm going to leave it at my parents' place so my video from this night's show can upload. I'll edit this post with a link when it's done

I heard TLBTB and Suck, really hoped we'd get TLBTB one of the two nights. It must be so epic with Robin. Well, must have been.

I liked Gladcarrot's Audio better than my own so I used his recording.
AND... I was too drunk to hold my cam up for an entire song. I got annoyed with the fact that I was watching the show thru the viewfinder. I think it helped me make a more interesting vid tho...

I've been busy with school every other day, and work whenever I'm not in school...But I've got time tomorrow afternoon, so I'll be sure to stop somewhere and upload it! Just another update! Because I'm jsut as ready to put this footage up as you guys are to watch it I snagged screenshots earlier today, but I fucked something up somewhere in a hurry, so they turned out being really tiny pictures on a large white canvas...Anyway!

I'll be uploading it tomorrow at about 3...I have class all morning, and have to run errants until then, but I took the day off JUST so I'd be able to upload this sucker tomorrow afternoon. I'll try to get everything ready tonight so it's ready to go ASAP.

Watching my video alongside the videos posted above is bringing back some good memories And a few ideas if anyone's interested in putting something together...Hmmm...

Alright, I tried uploading to DIME today, and had a couple problems...first, I put in the wrong announce code, so I got that fixed....And now it's saying that it can't allow my torrent becuse it's missing some .m5d checksum file or something like that? Can anyone give me a tip? Or maybe a step by step walkthrough via PM? It's my first time uploading a torrent, and I didn't think I'd need to have so much just to upload...

...which, by the way, is clocking in at about 8.5 gigs. The two halves of (most) of the show, and a couple other little videos from Murphy's set.

Yeah, Dime will usually want that for video files. This is the program that I've seen people use most often for generating those: http://www.md5summer.org/

Basically it'll just spit out a text file with a .md5 extension which other folks can use to verify that they've gotten the complete show.

One other thing that you should make sure to include an info file with as much information about the lineage of the recording as possible (ie: what gear you used, what was used to transfer, what was used to author, etc), and some detailedish information about the video itself (resolution, etc). Sometimes torrents can get temporarily disabled when that information isn't present.

Thanks for keeping at this; I know it's a bit overwhelming when you haven't upped a torrent there before! Feel free to PM me if you want (or the Dime mods are pretty friendly too, of course).

I'm listening to gladcarrot's bootleg of this again (I can't get enough of it...seriously) and I got goosebumps in Terrible Lie when the crowd EXPLODED right before the finale when Trent blew up and knocked over his synth station/microphone.
