Definitely. I was wondering if there was going to be much YZ since the first part of the setlist was rather light on it (just Survivalism) and it was a pleasant surprise to see him play (well, more like trigger samples) for Me, I'm Not, The Warning, and Piggy. Dave Navarro was good as well. Mike Garson sucks at faking... he lost his sheet music during the middle of La Mer and just started playing atonal approximations of scales for a minute or two... there's a reason why you put all of the music out flat on the piano. DEP are excellent at destroying shit... the lead singer was all over the stage, taking out lights and the DEP drum set and the NIN drum set.

Edit: It was more like 3 hours. They started 20-30 minutes late, and there was a sizeable break while they put everything back together after DEP's destruction during Wish.

Right in front of Justin and next to us was Adrianne Curry. I guess she was at the Palladium show as well.

That show...holy fucking shit. I have to say seeing Atticus finally out there with Trent was badass, and would easily be my favorite guest had it not been for Mike Garson leading into La Mer. Hands down, the best part of the show for me personally (I've waited a decade to see that original album version performed live because I never saw Fragility). Every song tonight seemed to be the best possible live version of that particular song, at least to my ears. Discipline? I usually am ho-hum about it live, but the ending was fucking awesome. Best fucking show. Period. Thank you Trent for an amazing ride these last 5 years, and keeping it together for 20.

Best concert I've ever seen. Period.

Loved Dillinger Escape Plan up there. For 2 songs, it was like 1994 again with all the chaos and destruction.

Garson was fabulous. Numan was great. Navarro was a nice surprise.

So cool to see Atticus on stage with Trent.

Other than that, fucking fantastic show. Dillinger Escape Plan was all over the place - destroying shit right in front of us; the guitarist falling into me after their last song. Justin is amazing, as always. Having Atticus onstage was a real treat and I was really glad to be able to see Me, I'm Not live.

The pit was mild and at times, I was a bit sad that there didn't seem to be enough energy there, but it was nice that everyone was really courteous. One chick gave me her spot on rail because she saw that I got screwed over by the massive cunts who cut in front - whoever you are: thank you.

And to all that stayed the night at the venue for the last two nights - we had some good times.

All in all, it was a great ending to a VERY long week in LA, and I couldn't be more happy. I don't want to go home. :-/

Possibly the best performance of Eraser ever; Garson killed it on the pianos. I'm too worn out to type up a whole concert experience, but I met many ETS peoples and they were fun as hell!

i literally heard everything i'd hoped for, and then some. best version of SICNH, ever. atmosphere was fucking beautiful. i missed pit by 20 people or so, but the first tier up was way better than i expected, more of a chance to see the stage. absolutely love that he closed with in this twilight, too. best show ever.

Remarkable... 3 1/2 hours, I am spent.

This was beyond...anything. I cannot believe I got to see this happen. I will edit this when my brain cells decide to start working again...but this was such an amazing experience, and it was so nice to see old show friends and make new ones.

Aw, they should've opened their last show with "Now I'm Nothing/Terrible Lie" instead of "Home". Oh well, sounds like a great wrap up regardless, although I think missing something like this means Trent is achin' to go home finally.

Between this show and the Fonda I am completley overwhelmed... Now off to megadose on emergen-c and attempt to clear the stage smoke from my sinuses.

When tickets first went on sale for the 'Wave Goodbye' shows, I was lucky enough to grab a pair for The Palladium and The Fonda. Wiltern tickets were still available at the time, but I decided not to pick them up because (in my opinion) the Wiltern was the least favorable venue of the bunch.

Well, after two awe inspiring performances and the rescheduling, I put aside my prejudices and was able to score a pair for last night's show. Good stuff, but I was stuck all the way up in the balcony.

The Wiltern seemed to have the best sound of the LA shows, but I still favor the Fonda show.

I hadn't planned on seeing NIN's final show at The Wiltern last night. I'd caught the Palladium show last week which they played the entire Downward Spiral album and that really was enough for me. Tickets for this final long sold out show were very tough to get even for hundreds of dollars (evens thousands) on the secondary market. But I happened to be checking out the official website yesterday morning and happened to score a single ticket when they released a handful of tickets.

Hearing that a massive line was already forming in the morning, I went ahead and finished my personal stuff up as quickly as possible and managed to get to the Wiltern around 3pm. The line had already grown to easily over 1,000 people (The Wiltern holds about 2,500) and I wasn't even sure I'd be able to get down on the floor. Over the next few hours as they finally (and very slowly) started handing out tickets and separate wristbands for the pit (the first couple hundred in line got in the pit) floor and balcony, the afternoon sun was just merciless. Some of the people who'd been there overnight looked really fried. Luckily, far back in line as I was, I still got a floor wristband. Comedy moment of the afternoon had to be the huge restroom line in the Ralphs supermarket next to The Wiltern - looked pretty funny with all these goths, rockers, etc waiting to take a piss while shoppers were trying to buy stuff around them.

Anyway, once I got in around 7:45, I found a great spot on the far right behind the small VIP/Handicap section just behind the pit. The only down side so far was I couldn't meet a couple friends - we just kept missing each other. The opening band "IO Echo" was decent but nothing memorable. About 15 minutes before NIN came on, a slew of celebrities including Rick Rubin, Tony Hawkes and Ron Jeremy (that dick seems to be at every LA area concert these days) were seating in the first row of the balcony to loud cheering.

The single merch booth in the lobby was mobbed right away and the nice looking wine colored "Wiltern" tour shirts were gone before NIN even came on.

Just before the show started, several people including some douchebag snuck into the VIP area directly in front of me and stood there the whole show making it tough for several short girls near me to see the stage. The guy would even step in front of wheelchair-bound people blocking everyone who was seat-bound's view.

NIN started around 9:15 with a solid version of "Home," a bonus track off the "With Teeth" import cd. The sound was impeccable. The bass was like a gut punch, really solid and clear - I've always said The Wiltern has the best sound of any LA area venue and this show was the best sound I've ever heard at The Wiltern. Really loud but crystal clear. I actually think many of the songs in the set were played specifically to take advantage of the Wiltern's excellent sound system and acoustics.

Things really didn't start to go off until 4th song "Discipline" and especially "March of the Pigs." I have to say, the crowd seemed really respectful of the quieter moments but really got into the more aggressive songs. The pit was fairly mellow because of the strict "no-moshing" posted policy but at times, especially in the last third of the show when the stage got trashed, some people were going off without being hassled by security. One really fucking weird part of the show was a trio of muscle-bound guys led by this one steroid-loaded dude who looked like he was having a bad acid trip in the isle next to the VIP section who spent the show flexing, pulling their hair and grabbing each other in very disturbing ways.

For basically the first half of the show, it was just about all deeper cuts from the albums released in the last 10 years. When David Bowies old piano player Mike Garson joined the band for several songs off "The Fragile" album which led into an extended piano jam, it was getting clear many in the audience were kind of reaching their tether and you could here a few hecklers amidst the generally quiet crowd. Next we had a 3 song set with Gary Numan who'd appeared at all the previous LA shows the past week and frankly, that was a piss break for me. For me, Numan's the kind of artist I originally liked a couple songs of from 25 years ago, and I got my Numan fix at the Palladium show last week.

The show then kicked into a higher gear with a brace of more aggressive songs culminating in the usual end-of-show pairing of "hits" The Hand That Feeds and Head Like A Hole which made some think this was the end of the show. Actually this led into another full hour of music featuring an increasing number of guest musicians such as Jane's Addiction's Dave Navarro, Atticus Ross and others. This led into the final 6 songs which was a well-thought out selection that clearly invoked 9/11 and ended touchingly with "In This Twilight."

Overall, the was a epic, marathon day and show I've seldom experienced in over three decades of concerts. Completely different to last week's Palladium show. That was like another tour.

Nearly 40 songs, over 3 1/2 hours. The perfect venue, perfect sound, great spot with perfect sightlines. I'm sore as fuck today with a raging headache but it was worth it. I will say I preferred the Palladium show setlist-wise and in some ways last night's show was marked more by what wasn't played then the fact it was thematically focused on albums from the past 10 years vs the first 10 years.

Still, I caught the last NIN show. Fuckin' A.

As soon as I saw the lights go up and Dillinger Escape Plan was standing alongside nin, I immediately thought "something's gunna get broken!" As it turns out, those somethings included: lights, microphones, their own drum set (props to the drummer for continuing to play on), guitars, amps, people (that was one wicked running stage dive by the lead singer guy), and security guys (anyone take a shot to the head this time around like that poor guy who got whacked with the lights earlier in the set?)

I think I just bopped up and down during March as if it was Only -- definitely not a lot of Dilinger Escape Plan-style energy down in front until the very end of the show. Then again, the pit was smaller than hell. I was right behind you, Torgo, which wasn't itself too far forward from the rear of the pit. Hard to push around when there's only three people to do the pushing!

Then again, watching the brutality that was trying-to-catch-the-setlist more than made up for the lack of additional flying elbows during Something I Can Never Have or any of those other slow songs...

Also (sorry for the double-post), but can we discuss the awesome club-rock version of Piggy featuring Trent + half of LA's musicians?

Absolutely incredible show. Definitely met my expectations. Met a lot of cool people in line, most of whom I either never got their names or just don't remember, but most importantly, THANK YOU to evy for the ride back to Burbank after the show. Without you, I probably would have been stuck in L.A. overnight.

What a night. I saw the last 20 years of my life flash right before my eyes. Had a nice place along the 3rd rail (yes, 3rd) for the first 90 minutes or so before sneaking into the pit. Apologies to those that camped out, got sunstroke, etc to be in there, but I just HAD TO DO IT. Setlist was great. Guests were great. Was SO HAPPY to see Atticus and hear the YZ tracks that haven't been played elsewhere on this tour.

In This Twilight was the perfect, most appropriate ending possible.

I got there about 2 o'clock thinking I will probably get into the pit....... When I got there the line already wrapped the entire block. Holy shit, was this a Thursaday?...... How in the world did so many people get off work or school soo fast? The line experience was great, meeting people from ets and finally putting a face to their name.

When I got in the venue I asked my friend, who I came with to go get the merch, and I will claim the spot in the venue. Scored a Wiltern shirt which is an awesome maroon color, which someone offered me $120 for it on the way out of the show. I politely declined, the shirt means too much to me.

The opening band was fantastic or maybe I had too much to drink... I think they sounded awesome..............

Around 9:15 I hear the sirens and robins droned out guitar and I know were about to hear an amazing version of the song Home. "to break from what we tied to god knows how hard I tried to" always gets me, and hearing the lyrics so crystal clear due to the wiltern having amazing acoustics was another plus.

Not going to go into a huge review, but I loved how everyone around me was enjoying "just like you imagined". I knew I was in a place that everyone was as big of a fan as I am. Eraser with Mike Garson was absolutely brilliant, best version I've ever seen live. Me I'm Not was another highlight with Atticus, It was sonicaly amazing.

Best NIN show ever. 37 songs. .

Goodbye live Trent and thank you for all the amazing shows I been to. They seriously were some of the greatest times in my life. Its been fun traveling around the United States with my best friends, Ex friends, again some of the greatest times of my life, thank you.

Wow what a show! Got my ticket on Monday Sept. 7 with some luck on my side. I got to the Wiltern just a little after 1600 and was amazed at the amount of people in line. Got my ticket and then got into line to get in and was pretty far back. Once I got in I thought about getting the Wiltern t-shirt but the line was a gigantic gaggle of people. I bailed on the t-shirt idea because I had to go bathroom and I wanted to try to get a good spot to watch the show. I kind of wish I would have gotten a t-shirt but I'll get over it.

It was a great setlist and great sound, over 3 hours! It was clear as a bell most of the time. Really loud but really clear. Mike Garson was really cool, excellent piano work. I am glad I was able to see the "last" show.

BTW, I want to mention that overall, all the fans of this band I've met or had dealings with over the years have been extraordinarily cool people. I've been hooked up to two key shows thanks to fans looking to help a ticketless guy out and not make a small killing on the reseller market. It's often said you can judge a band by their fans and visa versa. In NIN's case, this is absolutely true.

As a ridiculously small token of my appreciation, I'm giving away my Hollywood Palladium pin to the first person who PMs me. Basically, I'll stick it in an small mailer and send it to you. Don't include your address until I respond.

Thanks to a friend, I had an incredibly awesome view and was able to fully focus on the band's performance rather than jostling for a better position. Sad that there'll be no more live nin but ecstatic that I got to see this final show.

Incredible show. I was 2nd row pit in front of Trent. I was so glad that the pit was pretty damn lively for the relatively small amount of people.

This was my 15th and final NIN show and I have to say that it was the best.

Met a lot of amazing people in line over the last week. I have to give a special shout out to my friend Graham. Thanks for everything.


I do have one complaint - it seems like the speakers directly in front of the pit weren't working until half way through the set. I don't know if it was just me or if the sound just wasn't loud up front.

When Greg did his running stage dive he took out a good 3 rows of people - including the guy next to me who never made it back to the front. It was wild.

I had a feeling they weren't going to player Closer, which didn't sadden me.

I saw many HD cameras taping the show so hopefully Rob Sheridan will release HD footage of this show. I know he's busy so he might not be able to edit it, but if he could release footage for fans to edit like the Lights in the Sky tour, that would be awesome.

This concert was insane. Even though they still didn't have a synthesizer member like Alessandro Cortini, NIN as a 4 man group kicked ass.

After looking at the Henry Fonda show, i was weary to see how they were gonna top that. Seeing Dave Navarro was a pleasant surprise and obviously Atticus Ross as well. However, I still would have still loved to see Danny Lohner up there as well.

Definitely a damn good show to call it quits to. My favorite songs of the night were:

Ruiner -- Robin had a sick solo on it)
Piggy (nothing can stop me now) -- Atticus & Navarro brought more energy

We just got back to Sacramento after the long drive from L.A. What an amazing experience (from the road-trip, through the line and the previously mentioned epic show). When we finally got to the venue, around 3 p.m., the line wrapped nearly the whole block. We were fortunate to find parking on the street nearest the end of the line (behind a ridiculously awesome minivan which was painted with various NIN-related messages. It was quite the mobile shrine). We hung with really cool people who happened to drive from San Jose, CA. Our discussion definitely made the wait relatively painless. The fact that security/staff were very efficient and helpful also really helped. Aside from the oft-discussed show, here are two personal highlights:

1. Standing next to Tony Hawk (behind the sound-board), singing along to pretty much every song played. It was cool that he was able to hang in the crowd without anyone really bothering him once the show started.

2. Meeting/witnessing more than a few fans who literally walked up to the line and were able to purchase +1 tickets from fellow NIN fans, FOR FACE VALUE. It was a cool thing to repeatedly see. In all, it was an amazing experience from beginning to end.

Yeah, I saw a *lot* of people cruising the line all afternoon looking for single tickets and saw most of these people inside The Wiltern throughout the evening.

Loved the show (got home to Sac from LA a short while ago). Penn and Teller, etc were there. I thought Home was the best way to open the show (well, Now, I'm Nothing would have been great too). The moshing on the main floor (not to be confused with the pit area in front) was pretty intense at times as hippygeek can attest (thanks for the water and wine in line). Being short, I was jostling for position a lot in the beginning and then gave up and just enjoyed the music and the emotion knowing that half the audience was filming the show or taking pictures. I was wearing sandals so I think I got a few people's respect (or confirmed that I was insane) for standing right next to the mosh pit. Everything was fine until Gave Up, my fave song off Broken, when someone broke through the pit wall and nailed me in the stomach with a flying elbow - sweet Lord that hurt. I spent most of the song doubled over and felt nauseous the rest of the night. Having my feet stepped on a few times was nothing (I have nerve damage in my feet from MS so pain doesn't last very long when I got stomped on) compared to that elbow - that part of my stomach is still swollen. I am pretty sure it was the fucker that dived for and got the tamborine earlier in the show. I really wanted to punch him hard in the kidneys but I am trying to be non-violent and I wasn't positive it was him since he was wearing black like almost everyone else.
Overall, I thought it was an awesome show and was thrilled to be there for the last one.
Besides the flying elbow, the only other thing I did not like was the limits set at the merch booth as I was buying for friends so only one person could get a tshirt. I also didn't like it that they didn't take credit. I was only able to get one each of the lithos and they are staying in the collection - yes, they survived the mosh pit and the flying elbow. It looked like the city litho was sold out but the tour one was still there when I left so some of you may be able to get it on merch.com later.
Best deal of the night: the bootleg tshirt sellers outside after the show selling tshirts for $2 each. I bought 2 that were supposed to be different but were the same. Oh well, they are for the collection and and $2 I can turn one into a rag cloth.

Since there's already 2 Lossless on DIME, here's my recording we'll see how long it lasts....

I don't know what else I would write, so I copied this from what I wrote last night on the *ahem* other board. Still been going around today in a bit of a haze over the past week of incredible shows, full of emotion. What a week it's been. Anyway...


I don't want it to be over. I stood outside with my buddy, and I just didn't want to leave. Fuck man. They've been such a part of my life. I'll really miss this.

These last shows were an amazing way to go out. Thank you Trent, Justin, Ilan, and Robin. I feel so lucky I got to experience 3 of them.

I still can't process all of it, and if I did I'd probably just be gushing and babbling about how incredible it all was, and how I'll miss seeing them live. Fuck, I guess I did that anyway.

I'm not going to say this was the end-all-be-all NIN show. I'm not a huge fan of the Wiltern, or their security guards. Overall I wouldn't consider this my favorite show. But I kind of knew that going in, because there was so much importance behind "the final show."

They came, the played their asses off. They once again reminded me of why I love Trent's music so much. I'm sad, and happy, and excited to see what's going to happen next, and grateful, and in disbelief, and...yeah.

Trent thank you. You've enhanced my life, and the lives of many others, in ways you probably can't imagine.

Tonight was a great experience.

Trent, thank you. thank you thank you thank you.

Nothing will ever top this. This was the best show I have ever seen and probably ever will see. The whole Garson section and the encores were an amazing surprise. Everything was just so damn good.

It's funny to see people bitching about anything they can find to bitch about. I'll be a hypocrite real quick and hop on the bandwagon just to give a big FUCK YOU to the stupid fucking cunt who was shining an extremely bright light when Garson was soloing and then saying that it was a douchy move when someone was using that light to make a shadow puppet. You know who you are.

But back to the positivity. I had such a damn good spot right behind the soundboard and had a perfect view of the show. I'm really happy that Wiltern was the venue for the final show.

Thank you, Trent Reznor, for your last NIN show ever. And thank you for not ending the show with Head like a Hole, but In this Twilight instead. I agree, there was no need to play Closer...while much acclaimed, we've all heard that song a million times (albeit the song is still quite mesmerizing).

I thought The Wiltern show would be a show I would be missing. The day before, I spent most of the day refreshing the tour.nin.com page over and over. I nearly lost a load when it said "click here".

Would never happen. Trent is friends with Ron. He makes sure Ron is always a VIP at NIN concerts. Saw them hanging together backstage before the Wiltern show.

Right now, I am thinking about how fucking insane 'Wish' was. It was CHAOS writ large. We collectively lost our shit completely during that song.

I am going through the set and just feeling how ALIVE it all was, we all were, we all are at those moments, now.

Well we are at the end I must say after seeing NIN for 28 shows from 1994-2009 this was an amazing way to end it all.

I got very emotional at quite a few points and after the show as NIN has always been a huge part of my life even today it still seems a bit weird knowing there are no future shows.

I moshed for quite possibly the first time in 7 years even with my bad ankle and had a blast at this last show.

I feel privileged and honored to have seen 7 of the 10 last shows including this final show and getting to meet the band in 2009.

I wish Trent and company all the best in their future endeavors and hope that we get to see Trent someday down the line again and I also look forward to the new music and projects to come out of the NIN camp.

I must say what I will most besides the live shows will be the community and friends I met at each show hopefully this will continue to grow and build even with NIN off the road.

And with that I wave goodbye to NIN for now thank you for all the wonderful times and memories I will continue to cherish everyone of them.

Killer show as usual. The music seemed so much more powerful than any of the other shows. TR was in great spirits and was very active on stage. Im sad to hear that nails wont be touring any longer, but I did like the idea of new music still being released!

I wanted to jot down two memories before I forget them. While in line to get in the theater, we saw two things:

1. Meredith from the Office (tv show) crossed the line to go to Ralphs. I remember thinking, why the hell is she going to the Ralphs in K-Town? Doesn't NBC pay her?

2. The chickenshit plain clothes cop who looked like he had busted some fans in line for open container or underaged drinking. Whenever I see a cop doing something pointless, I think of our Ports and Power Plants that sit unguarded.

Yeah I'm actually working on getting a torrent together. But first I"m sifting through the various FLAC recordings to get some high fidelity audio synced with it. Then from there it will be an issue of seeding this stuff out which will be a bit of a problem because EACH of these concerts is running between 25 and 30 gb's.

Maybe I'll burn a few hard copies for a handful of people and have them help me seed.

synthetik, if when your finished making those perfect files, I'd send you some cash if you could put those on a BD. My computer is dogshit and skips a lot watching HD footage but if I could watch it on my PS3, it'd be heaven.

regarding "the douchebag" on the picture...

i remember seeing him at the show by the bar having an argument with his girlfriend...i don't remember seeing him carrying any shirts or bags or anything of that sort. the reason i clearly remember seeing this dude was because of the argument but also, because i was getting annoyed they were standing in my view...

was this probably the wrong guy? or am i missing something here?

I spoke to the lead of the “a tiny little dot” project today. He informed me that there has been a recent number of personal setbacks regarding the completion of the final show DVD. The team is apparently feeling some of the effects of the current economic atmosphere. A few key members of the team have recently lost their jobs (and thus access to their resources that they had previously volunteered) which also has caused for a delay in the completion of the project. He has assured me that the team is in the process of clearing the current hurdles that are causing delay and moving forward with the project. The team was hoping to complete the project by June, in spite of the current setbacks. When I asked him if he foresees the project still being able to get finished by the end of 2011, he reassured me that the team still has a goal to complete the project by the end of summer.

I recommended that with respect to those who have both a financial and emotional investment into the project, that “a tiny little dot” makes effort to update the NIN community about the project whenever possible as the project moves forward. He reassured me that he will plan on doing this.
