Another great recording from ScreamingSlave! You probably have a few dozen of his recordings from over the years, this one is also just as exceptional as the other ones. This was recorded near the soundboard.

Mono recording. Taper's notes, "Taped dead center, in the pit halfway between the stage and board. Not wanting to bring my old MD rig down for this run of shows, I decided to see if there was a phone based solution, leading me to building a couple of microphones myself (http://www.openmusiclabs.com/projects/bootlegmic/index.html). Recordings have some flaws but over the course of three nights I felt like I learned a lot, and came away with something better than I would have with my old rig. The mic I used for the 13th didn't capture the high end as well as I had hoped. During MOTP the pit got a bit unruly, knocking the mic loose, and the phone reverting back to the internal mic. Great A/B comparison point..."
