Awesome setlist. I wasn't taking notes, I could recount, but I'm sure someone will put up something more thorough. Afraid of Americans, Heresy, Becoming, Burn....*drools*. I like the "streamlined NIN" thing, I liked the switching and the use of samples to fill space (that wind sound on "Hurt" was missed, although I didnt realize it until I heard it tonight), although the lack of a full-time synth player hurt Heresy and Terrible Lie. Trent seemed reaaaalllly into it tonight.

I liked the patch he wore on his arm. Yea he put on a great show, as usual.

And Robin was pissed! Anyone know what that was about?

robin's guitar failed several times during the becoming. it was smashed at the end of the song.

soundcheck song missing was NON ENTITY. it was a treat to hear all those songs while kicking around the beach. the missus and i drew a NIN logo in the sand.

otherwise, the last of three shows for me. a bit bittersweet. the best seats, the most "standard" setlist, but still an incredible show, through and through. fare thee well, NIN.

Amazing gig, setlist was unbelievable. Plus met some of the coolest people ever ... but,

Tonight's show had soooo much energy! It was absolutely wonderful! The crowd was really into it, the band was really into it, the venue was great, and the sound was good. I'd never been to this venue before, but I'll definitely be back. (The only thing that sucked was the attitude of the merch guys - UGH! Awful!)

And the setlist was amazing. So many uptempo songs in a row! If this show had had a pit, shit would have been CRAZY! I left the show feeling empowered, like I could take on the whole damn world one-handed.

I was at the NJ show last night, and it just did not compare to tonight's show.

Of all the times I've seen NIN, this show ranks pretty damn high on the list.

Alright here I go...

Best show I ever been too without a damn doubt. This was my 3rd and final show for the tour and damn. I know my brother is gonna read this but, this was the best of the three shows (Camden, Holmdel, Wantaugh). The set-list had no breaks, it was all action, and the band was in the mood tonight, Robin smashing his guitar, Trent throwing his guitar into the drumset, Mic stands getting tossed around. What a show. I'll vouch and say best show of the tour, WHATS GOOD. And shit, Front Row seats, in the middle, fuck yes please.

Saw a few ETS'ers. Thankyou for calling me out cuz I don't have the balls to approach you and then it wont be you and then I'll be like, "wow, awkward".

Street Sweeper, hell yeah dudes, I yelled "Promenade!" and Tom replied, "Yes, that ones next." Of course none of NIN responded to my bullshit but I tried. Janes though, man these guys RULE. Perry all up in my face, Navarro between the set replied with a "Sup man". Eric was all seriousness, but at the end of the show the whole band came around and shook our hands and thanked us for coming out. (And it didn't cost 300 bucks, whats good).

And plus, Daisy De La Hoya, yeah I saw you on the side of the stage, gave her a shout at the end of the show and she did a lil sexy pose. Damn camera died I really wanted a pic.

So Ima get corny, but shit. THANKYOU! To SSSC, NIN, and Janes, for the best weekend of my life.

I hope it isn't really the last tour, but thankyou Trent for writing 20 years of my favorite music. Minus Purest Feeling.

Sick show. Had seats front row dead center and loved every minute of it.

I am so glad I caught this show...who am I kidding, there was no way I was missing this one.

The set list was unbelievable! The Becoming, Metal, I Do Not Want This, Afraid of Americans.....the band sounded TIGHT (as always) and the energy was unstoppable! (It was so strange to see a four piece unit up there!) Ilan is AWESOME!!!!

I was very impressed with the crowd. For some reason whenever I go to a show I'm always surrounded by people who like to pretend they are too cool to be at the show---not last night. The energy in the crowd mirrored the energy on stage, at least where I was sitting. (I was in Orch H section). Oh, and there was some dude with long black hair in the aisle going freaking bananas during the whole show. I officially love that guy.

I have one MAJOR complaint----and that is, watching them walk off that stage last night feeling like it's going to be many many years (if that) that I'll get to experience a live NIN show again. It was almost bittersweet. Trent and Co, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the past 4 years of awesome shows. Please make sure you eventually tour again......"soon".

It was just so awesome to finally see my favorite band. NIN was freaking amazing last night, I lost my mind!!! I am just grateful.

i've been a fan for years but unfortunately this was only my 2nd NIN show but For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen it was great! Saw him back in Orlando during the With Teeth tour and this show blew that one away (even tho that one had pretty lights).
But wow the setlist was great and the ending of the becoming was probably my favorite part of the show when Robin came out with the acoustic and those chords just cut thru all the noise. I love the way he spanks the guitar but when he played the acoustic he had this lil sprinkler motion going and then BAM fuck you acoustic guitar SMASH... that was great... You definitely could see how pissed off he was when he was havin the guitar issues earlier. I loved how Trent was throwing shit around too, although I for a sec I thought we might have a Chris Vrenna type head injury at any moment. I was on the right side about 8 rows back right next to the water. Good lawd was it breezy. I have some video I took with my shitty camcorder that died during Burn, so hopefully I can get those transferred to my hard drive soon. I also have a few pics (that sorta came out) as well as some video from that camera which isn't the greatest in visual quality but meh it gives you an idea of the songs and whatnot.
My only complaint was the so called JA fans who showed up right when Hurt came on. There were 5 seats in front of us vacant the entire show until that song and they bustled in all loud talking during hurt saying "oh he sings? i hardly know any of their songs"

and yea, it was a bittersweet moment during hurt. I really hope its not the last tour, cuz that would be a damn shame.

it was kinda funny to see the mass exodus of nin fans leave and the JA fans filter in. We stayed for most of that show but I was just too exhausted and windblown from the weather. I almost bought a NIN hoodie just to stay warm but they sold out! Good one merch people!

Btw anyone have one of those scrumptious $8 burgers? Oh god.

Final NIN/JA show, 13th and final NIN show ever for me

We were spotted on the mezzanine for this one which had great view and great sound, but man is that place chilly. We spent the entire day on the beach, lying in the sand. For some reason I didn't expect Jones Beach to ACTUALLY be a beach where you could swim. That was the non-NIN highlight of our entire trip ! Hot day, great sun, comfortable water... But anyway, it cooled down considerably for the show and of course, the wind was our real enemy here.

So after seeing/hearing everything I wanted to see before NIN retired on my previous NINJA shows, the last song I really wanted to hear again was Somewhat Damaged and it was the first song of the set tonight Mind-blowing stuff! Another really strong setlist... Glad I could see The Becoming, I Do Not Want This and The Fragile again... all are so intense live... Had continuous shivers. So powerful.

So... is that really it ? I'm done with NIN ? Can't believe it.

What I need now is to make a million dollars so I can see them again in Europe !

3rd NIN show so far. I really enjoyed what felt like a more of a breakneck set until The Fragile. The band was very tight, Ilan is a fantastic addition (still miss Josh though). It was nice to see Trent handle more of the keyboard duties and I got to see some songs I never thought I'd see live (namely "Heresy" and "The Becoming" along with the mini-covers section). I never expected to see that much TDS material. It was a bit bittersweet at the last bit of Head Like A Hole because I knew it was pretty much done at this point. I was iffy on Hurt but thankfully, the crowd was more intent on singing along that random drunken shouts.

Lucky I was around people who were into it (save for a few pretzel eating folks, but they didn't ruin it). Slight "WTF?" moment from my section (Orch E in the back) at "Metal" but everyone starting grooving during "I'm Afraid of Americans". I had a very loud involuntary shout during the first notes. I didn't think it was gonna get played.

Hopefully that was a semi-coherent review. I'm pretty sure something in my neck gave out somewhere between "The Becoming" and "Gave Up".

I have a few shitty pictures I have to review, hopefully I can touch them up and maybe post them.

Tonight was definitely the better of the two weekend shows. Figures that we had 250 dollar golden circle tickets last night and poor seats tonight. Both bands were amazing.

This was probably the best show I have EVER seen NIN put on! Easily the best setlist, and maybe the most passionate performance. Loved the subtle touch of the screens going on at the same second as the climax of TDS.

I turned to my girlfriend after NIN and expressed that I didn’t envy Jane’s for having to follow that. They too seemed much more inspired than the night before. I loved Perry’s bantering and especially the band intros – Daaavvvvve. Three Days was missed the night before. Almost a religious experience.

Another horrible venue experience as you couldn’t exit and it was freezing and windy. I wonder how many people bought 75 dollar hoodies or 35 dollar hippie blankets they didn’t want, just to stay warm.

Don't know if anyone hear is musically inclined, but the show yest. brought up two different debates between me and my friend about the songs, one about The Fragile (album/live/any) and Hurt (that specific performance).

Is it just me, or is the chorus of The Fragile, at least the first (non-heavy) time it goes through it, slip into a different time signature?? It felt like there was a weird little skip on the "I won't let you falll apar-I won't let youuuu..."

And as for Hurt, my friend kept insisting that the drummer and bassist came back in when they werent supposed to towards the end (I suppose when Trent was doing one of those extended pauses I.E. "I...am still.....right..........here") and that Trent was visibly pissed about it. But I don't remember that....at all. Anybody??

great night, many faves of mine were played (actually I can say it about each concert of this tour I've been to but anyway). VERY windy but during Nails set I almost forgot about it.
to me Jones Beach show was special because of meet and greet and soundcheck. felt like I spent the whole day in nin-universe and it was time well spent!
took tons of pics at the soundcheck. Todd (Trent's tech) was looking at me from time to time like "wtf is this sound of lense moving and shutter clicking all the time??" as my camera was close to his ear. also Todd said when the soundcheck started but people remained seated - in pretty raw voice: "you can stand, that's not a church" :)

So good. My first (and possibly last :[ ) NIN live experience. My seats were Mezz C, there were some dudes in front of me hanging over the ledge getting incredibly into it.
Amazing setlist, i had really hoped to hear Somewhat Damaged, and i was ecstatic when they opened with it. Loved hearing The Becoming, Heresy, and The Fragile live (Craziness, i don't hear anything in a different time signature in the chorus).
I loved SSSC's set, Paper Planes ruled. Never been a huge Jane's fan, but it was entertaining to watch nonetheless.

The closest I have ever sat at a NIN show. (7th row, right in front of JMJ). It was nice that there was not a real "pit" and there were seats. I got some SICK footage!!!! I believe the audio came out great too!!!! I will post a sample soon.

A decent show with several drawbacks. NIN's setlist was admirable and although missing some desired tracks to hear like "Now I'm Nothing" "Last" and "The Big Comedown" from other setlists, it was very nice to hear songs like Metal and such. The setlist was definitely geared more towards the sincere fans who will miss them and I really appreciated that, considering LITS was much more bland/"The slip up" focused. A disappointing end with "Hurt" as the last song - I don't care what you guys think, it's tired, boring, played out, played at every NIN show I go to and a bad/sad way to say goodbye - I was hoping this would be the one show not tainted by it.

What really bothered me is how this is supposedly the last NIN tour because it just wasn't the right send-off to Nails. The toned down lighting, I can see their desire to tone it down a little, but their lighting was certainly pale in comparison to any other NIN show I've seen. This was not cool considering the last Jones Beach show they did was far more impressive visually. You can't help but be dissapointed by NIN not opting to 'wow' you one last time and not living up to what they did the last time at Jones Beach.

Having NIN play before Jane's Addiction was a mistake that I simply will never understand. On a gorgeous full moon night NIN played mostly during the day. I'm not usually picky about this but this did not allow for the video screens to be used for much of the show so people far back did not have a great view. The crowd was seriously affected by the split of taste between NIN and JA so half the people in my section would stand and cheer while the other half barely moved during NIN. If this was to be the final sendoff for NIN, why subject us to such a divided crowd? I seriously think this entire idea backfired, I think Trent had good and cool intentions but unfortunately, Jane's Addiction sucks ass and has no place headlining while NIN takes a backseat on their LAST tour.

Jane's Addiction was the worst part of the night and completely unenjoyable. Most of the energy was driven out of me and the rest of the crowd. During the set breaks you could overhear many people complaining about leaving after NIN or not wanting to stay for them. People continuously started to filter out after NIN left and during JA. I'm sorry but I really wasn't impressed. Dave Navarro is a great guitarist, but that's about all they had to offer. What bothered me most is that terrible, obnoxious singer. He was obviously too drunk (even for a rock star) and was making a fool of himself with his boring, pointless commentary. JA was bland, boring, and so obnoxious, it simply pissed you off that you have to send off Trent Reznor for the last time only to make room and time for these jackasses with no good songs. Sure, I could have just left early and called it a night, but damn it would have been much more enjoyable to have another 30-40 minutes of NIN.

If NIN organized this tour, planned it as their last hoorah, they should have headlined and played in the dark. There was no good excuse for this. This NIN/JA idea would have been fine for the last round of tours, but it was not the best way to end NIN's concert run forever/indefinitely.

That being said, thank you Trent for an enjoyable setlist and as usual, a spot-on performance. NIN is not my favorite band but always provides some of the absolutely most enjoyable concerts and for that they have my unending gratitude. Those who enjoy that style of music are truly at a loss if Trent stops playing.

as for Janes Addiction, go back to the gutter you scumbag losers.

oh, and as an addendum, i'd also like to say whoever was in control of the volume level during JA was an asshole, they played louder than NIN and it was so loud it was hurting my ears in the super high upper deck.. even the little video they played to open the show was so ridiculously loud I couldn't believe the guy at the mixing console didn't lower it just a TAD.

i really loved the entire show. street sweeper got the crowd started and NIN was soo incredible. fucking really great. The Downward Spiral is an amazing song live. i loved seeing robin smash that guitar.

as far as janes gos, i loved it. they put on a kickass show and it was really enjoyable. i dont think someone going to a rock show should complain about volume....its supposed to be fuckin loud. a little rain but not even close to ruining it.

Kdools, thanks for proving me that the 'superfans' here can't even go one post without complaining about someones negative opinion of the show.

I'll spare the many insults I could fling back at you cause its pointless, but I will point out that I am not the kind of person who complains about the volume levels at a rock concert, I regularly attend concerts with no hearing protection whatsoever to ensure the purity of the experience, but it was just plain out too fucking loud man. Maybe your ears aren't as sensitive as mine but JA was playing unnecessarily abrasively loud to the point where listening to them simply hurt and I had to leave. I have never said that about any band at any concert in the 15 years I've been old enough to go to them but I'll say it now. I know its supposed to be fucking loud, but it was so fucking loud that me, as a musician, had to say that it was simply overboard and ridiculous. Even that smug little video they played before they started playing was louder than the final notes in Hurt.

i saw NIN 4 times (2x With Teeth Tour and 1x LITS Tour) and this show was the best setlist i've seen...

but...

the LITS tour was more amazing to me with the visuals.
they didn't have to cut the lights down so drastically.
and yes, if this was to be the last NIN tour, they should have closed.

i rather them end with Head Like A Hole then the typical Hurt.
i mean i love the song and all, but this is supposedly the last tour and to end on such a downer. and Hurt is just such a run of the mill way to end the show. go out on something a little more powerful. hell, if they were gonna leave on such a downer, leave on Lights In The Sky or something

In This Twilight is probably the best closer when they did it on the LITS tour.

I like this tour more than LITS just because IT IS broken down! its all about the band, not the visuals, and the setlists vary from night to night. gotta love it.

The best part of the night was The Downward Spiral which worked well with the blood-red rising full moon directly aligned in the center with the stage. Many would not have seen this from below but it was an unforgettable image and worth the night. I think I have video or something someone in my party took to it.

I've been dying to hear The Fragile and I Do Not Want This, and them playing them back to back blew my mind. That in itself made the night for me, not to mention the rest of the setlist fucking rocked.

Oh and... uhh... correct me if I'm wrong but, they're more than a band... they're a social club.

3rd and final show of the 3 day NIN weekend and my 9th and final(?) NIN show.
Highlights and low-lights:

-Traffic getting there from Staten Island, NY was ridiculous not that I expected any different. Literally took an hour to get like 5 miles away from the VZ Bridge but at least it opened up once I got to the Southern State Pkwy.
-Took a wrong turn literally right next to the venue and ended up having to go all the way back like 5 miles and then turn around and come back. Annoying but not the end of the world. I still got there before regular doors opened. Got my presale ticket and went in to get some merch (got the poster and a shirt).
-SSSC were very good again, although by this point I agree that it was slightly annoying to hear them say the same stuff each night but we have to remember that I would guess at least 90% of the crowd wasn't at the other shows. Debating on whether or not to go to their record release party in NYC on June 16. Would be a nice consolation for that cancelled SSSC-only show that was supposed to happen in Vegas.
-It was hot and sunny when I got there, and by the time they let us down to the seats (which wasn't until like 6:30/6:45 wtf?) it was no longer that sunny and it was windy which made it kind of cold actually.
-13th row again, just like Camden, except no pit in the front so the view was a little closer and better.
-Somewhat Damaged is probably my favorite opener of theirs and it was definitely awesome to get it one last time. My first NIN show was at Jones Beach in 2006 and they opened with it, so it was only fitting that they did it at my last NIN show (for now), at Jones Beach.
-Getting to hear Terrible Lie again (never thought I would say that hah), Heresy, The Frail>Metal (wtf? but it rocked indeed) followed by I'm Afraid of Americans. Also seeing Burn, The Fragile, I Do Not Want This, & The Downward Spiral one more time was very nice.
-THE BECOMING! One of my faves from TDS, I didn't expect it and boom, there it was. Even Robin's guitar failing only made it that much better. I didn't even notice it that much soundwise but I think it made the song more piano-heavy which was cool. IDK though because it was the first time I ever saw it. Robin smashing the guitar was definitely the best way that song could have ended. Lovely.
-I think it was just the wind and the fog machines but I was pretty much teary eyed for the whole set, or at least definitely the last half. Hurt seemed extra emotional and even though it's never been one of my favorites, it def. struck a nerve. Thinking about the possibility of never going to another NIN show makes me a little sad, enough to even contemplate going to Europe for a show or two but it's just not in the cards for me, but that's ok. I couldn't think of a better show to go out on, except maybe the night before but this tour has definitely been the best 4 shows I've ever seen I think (5.18 Las Vegas, 6.05 Camden, 6.06 Holmdel, & 6.07 Wantagh). I will never forget it!!

I think out of the 9 shows I've been to I've seen The Frail lead into a lot of different things, heh. I was just thinking about it because it went into Metal at this show but I did the math and it's kinda interesting..

The show was outstanding. So many great tracks I never heard performed live. The Becoming is one of my top songs, never got to hear it live because I missed the Self Destruction and Dissonance Tours, so bad ass. I never thought he's play Metal live, but BAM, there it was and stellar!!!

I've posted some vids and pics to my facebook. Understanding that's not public to all of you, I'll let you know when I post the vids up to youtube.

In the meantime, has anyone seen any decent full audio recordings floating around? Full show video recordings? Let me know. I've been digging but haven't found anything just yet.

I LOVED this show! It's #2 out of 10 for me. Second only to one of the shows I saw in '95. Great setlist!

Its okay - I think it was right for the moment. I rarely cry at shows but this time yeah a little misty eyed myself during Hurt at Jones.

I've seen NIN a total of 12 times..this was easily the best one for me. It's been over a week now and I can't stop thinking about what a great show it was in every way imaginable..I finally got to hear Heresy, I Do Not Want This, The Downward Spiral and I'm Afraid Of Americans live for the first time, the band seemed really into what they were doing(especially when Robin smashed the guitars during The Becoming) and the crowd seemed really into it. I went to the Mansfield show and this blew it away in every way imaginable. Jane's were really good as well, Perry didn't seem like he was on any drugs and Eric, Dave and Stephen were firing on all cylinders.. I really hope live audio surfaces as well so I can listen to this repeatedly. Thanks to colorsblend for the extra ticket, you really made my day, week, month, year, etc.

Notes:
Out of all the shows I have seen on this tour its very hard to rate which show is the best because there are so many good ones to choose from. This show in Wantagh was a pretty epic show. I have never been this close to the front at a concert before (7th row) and the sound here at Jones Beach was incredible. I have seen pictures of this place before but this place owns every Amphitheater on the east coast by far. This is my 2nd best recording on the tour, first is Bonnaroo then JB then Clarkston. There is little to no crowd noise and its sounds great on the headphones/monitors. NIN pulled out a lot of energy during this show, during Terrible Lie at the end the whole band goes nuts and TR just tomahawks the hell out of his micstand (or attempts to). During the Becoming Robin's guitar feed goes out throughout the whole song and at the end of the song he totally DESTROYS his acoustic guitar and just walks off like a badass. I like the Now I'm Nothing-Terrible Lie intro but nothing can beat the Somewhat Damaged intro. You can hear my Uncle and I at the beginning just so totally jacked for SD at to start the show off. We talked about hearing it all day and we got it!!! The video is just great. I think I have watched it already twice today and I cannot be happier with how it looked. Unfortunately it went from HD footage down to SD so that it can fit onto a Dual Layered DVD. I still think the quality is up there though. I took the audio from my R09HR and synced it with the video because of the fact the audio from the video is totally blown out from being so close. One drawback from having a camera with a hard drive is that if there is a massive amount of vibration it will automatically shut off. That is what happened during "March of the Pigs" and "The Downward Spiral" so do not freak out when the video suddenly goes black, its only for about 15 seconds or so and then WERE BACK! I hope everyone enjoys the DVD. I know I will watch this again and again. Take care.
