I am back from Paris and already miss it. Great city, great concert! In fact, it parallels the one in Prag from 2007 which means it is going to be my favourite NIN show ever (and the very last – good finish).
Did I mention that I loved the show? They played absolutely everything I didn´t get to hear in Berlin last week (especially The Becoming and The Fragile). Plus, they played Physical again! Trent was in a good mood (apparently, he likes you French better than the Germans which I totally understand). Funny to compare that to his comments during their first Paris show (in ´91?) when he told the audience that he does not care about french food and everything french and was just playing for the money This time, he was like "you make it all worth it" and "I am happy to be here tonight". After TF he said that it felt kind of weird to play that song because it comes from a "dark time" of his life.
The crowd was rougher than I expected. And not everyone knew how to behave in the pit. The other thing to complain about was the noise during Hurt. With all those shouts (even the obligatory "I love you, Trent") I believe if this had happened in Germany Trent would have interrupted the song. And the crowd was totally out of rhythm everytime they were clapping during that particular song. Plus, the singing along was so loud that I could hardly hear Trent and I was like 10th row. Anyway, it´s always the same with Hurt. Apart from those minor issues it was really fun jumping and sweating with you.
I believe the sound was the best I ever had. So happy I went alone and could carefully listen instead of looking if my friends survived the heavier songs.
Finally, I decided not to go to London next week. NIN were so fabulous last night that this is the live impression that I want to keep in memory. WAVE GOODBYE!

I never really post on here, but I HAD to for this show.

In the last 5 years since the Fresno show at the William Seroyan Theater in Fresno (first show of Trent's comeback), I have attended 25 NIN shows in California, Nevada, New Mexico, Illinois, Texas, etc. Paris was my first show outside the United States, and I can say without hesitation that it was THE BEST SHOW I HAVE EVER SEEN. Not just NIN, but literally the best concert I have ever been to.

For those of you who have not attended a US show, I have never seen a crowd soooooo in love with the music they were hearing. Paris, you guys are fucking awesome, and that really was the "perfect" NIN show.

Somewhat damaged was the best opener I have seen since I saw them open with Mr. Self Destruct, and the show was basically all Downward Spiral and The Fragile. The birthday surprise was hilarious and it was awesome to see Trent laughing so hard on stage. He was much more interactive with the crowd too, actually gesturing to people, handing a girl the tambourine, etc. But seriously, I have never seen Trent have so much fun at any of his shows...good crowd, good Trent.

Thanks again Paris. Hope some of you come out to some LA shows that will be ending the tour!!!

What a gig! We got into the queue at about 5ish for the presale tickets, assuming that it wouldn't be much of a wait- but alas. Stood there for about an hour, and during that time got chatting to a Japanese girl in front of us. She was quite worried that she didn't have any ID with her, but she's Trent's friend and he put her on the guest list. We were somewhat sceptical about her claims but didn't say anything outright. She mentioned that she'd met Aaron North's dad, and then pulled out a photo of her and Trent apparently in Trent's house... Now we were torn between "she's telling the truth" and "she's a psychopath". She'd even been merrily texting Trent while we were queuing...

So anyway, we got our tickets, and joined yet another queue to get into the venue. While we were queuing, this massive security dude came out and gave us a lecture on safety during the gig, which seemed odd. It was all "Don't run to get to the rail, you'll get kicked out. Don't bash into anybody, you'll get kicked out..." which I thought was a tad unnecessary, but when we saw people sprinting to get to the front, it became apparent that it was necessary! Very strange.

While we were stood waiting for Mew, we saw the Japanese girl from earlier prove us wrong by being escorted backstage, so I guess she wasn't a crazed stalker after all.

Onto the music- Mew were utterly fantastic. Fucking loved it. Such a brilliant band, just a shame that no one around me seemed to appreciate them.

Just before NIN, we were engulfed in smoke and literally couldn't see the stage, then suddenly the lights came on and there was Trent.
The setlist was all I could have wanted. I was dying to see I'm Afraid of Americans and Physical, and Non Entity was a brilliant bonus.
As Survivalism ended we unfurled our "Happy 21st Ilan!" banner, and as if on cue, Trent introduced the band and gave Ilan his "present", which was hilarious. Trent was grinning just as much as Ilan was when the strippers came out, and when they dropped the cake on him, Trent was doubled over laughing. They launched into Physical and there was cake flying out of Ilan's hair for at least the first half of the song. Bloody fantastic.

The sound quality was wonderful, puts places like Brixton to shame. My only complaint about the gig was the crowd- they were really violent to the point where it just wasn't fun anymore. Some poor kid got pushed to the floor, so the thug behind him jumped on his back and started stomping on him. And the shouting during Hurt was just stupid, show some fucking respect.

I dunno, maybe I'm just getting too old for all this!

This was one intense show indeed! And I loved every second of it.
It was my second time seeing NIN (the previous one was in 2007) and I think that this is exactly the kind of performance every NIN-fan should experience at least once: everyone on stage gave their very best and the energy of the crowd felt spectacular, at least from where I was standing.

I'll be attending the shows in Budapest and Targu Mures two weeks from now, and I'm a bit worried that nothing could top this performance I've seen in Paris - that's how much I loved it!

The setlist felt a little like time-travelling to ten years ago, mostly pre-WT songs, but since I didn't get to see NIN in those days I'm perfectly happy.

But reading about the problems in the crowd, I guess I was pretty lucky with the spot I've landed (near the rail, Robin's side). Very nice people, without being bored or too tame. They danced, and jumped, and screamed (and knew the lyrics) without being assholes.

There's probably a lot more to say but unfortunately I'm still gathering my wits after tuesday night.

This was my 4th Nine Inch Nails show ever, and definitely the best. My girlfriend and I were in the front, Justin was right in front of us. The show was absolutely amazing. The crowd was also so respectful and into the music that it was really a joy to be there. Most people around me were jumping and singing along with the lyrics which I thought was really great.

When they played La Mer and The Fragile, the emotion in the atmosphere was unbelievable. After that, Trent said "I wrote this song in a very dark time of my life. It's really weird to sing it now."

He was really talkative and in agreat mood. Ilan's birthday suprise was awesome. The 50 Cent/Closer remix MUST be released! Trent was laughing and having a blast, then they broke straight into Physical (You're So) and Rob was filming that and the birthday bash. It was awesome!

She did turn out to be for real? I was enjoying thinking of her as a psycho-stalker... :( but good for her :)
I'm the Aussie chick who was in front of a person in the line I am quite sure was you as they told me about said Japanese girl. And you had amazing shoes.
I echo your Mew comment, I was really fucking impressed by them, was sad that they didn't appear to have the same effect on many other people where I was.
But easily the best concert I have been to, and one of the most memorable nights of my life. Missing you, Europe, thank you for having me!

Oh yes I was always standing, my little brother and my mother were seated, didn't actually find out they were going until Sunday...but it was an awesome surprise. I wish I had been able to see NIN when I was thirteen like that, and except for some (wasted) guy yelling at him that he shouldn't be there because NIN were white people's music, he had an incredible time. Was mortified by the watching topless women while seated next to his mother though. From what I gather she thought it was hilarious. Thankyou Trent :P

Have fun on the 15th, I'll make sure I do something awesome and birthday-worthy (though it won't be nearly as awesome as being in London. Well it may be, I might ride a giant bear through the city or something).

She was telling the truth. I had VIP, met her during diner, we talked for about an hour. Met her again in London after she had recognized me.
