This is another tape borrowed from smores to transfer. I appreciate him sharing out his tapes to get transferred to the masses. This is a 1st gen cassette tape of NIN from the Burgettstown show. Thanks to Gladcarrot for his very nice source of older recordings from NIN on his site: (http://gladcarrot.com/1995%20Outside%20Tour.htm#Burgettstown%201995-09-23). This is where I got most of my information from the early tours 88-95. Great recording, this is the first time I have seen this tape. This is the 16 bit version. This can be burned straight to CD. If you would like the 24/48 version, you can find it on DIME or the NIN Drive.

Thanks to Smores for sending this over from the JSSS archives. We have finally got the definitive version of this recording from Steve Kilinsky. To find out, the recording was done on a DAT recorder in LP mode. So now there are three different transfers of this recording. I really want to leave the cassette transfer from a DAT > Cassette 1 transfer because I do like the sound of the transfer. Which is source 1c. But this would be the definitive version of this recording. Includes all of Pinion and obviously no tape flip during "The Downward Spiral" because it was taped without pausing on the DAT. Really good tape.

Same as the source below. The 1st gen transfer below has better quality, but this transfer includes a few more seconds of "Pinion" and "The Downward Spiral" if that matters to you. In September 2015, I finally was able to snag a copy of the actual "Hanging Like Jesus On This Cross" silver CDs. This is now a known rip from the silvers with scans of the CD covers as well. For the longest time, this was thought to have been a fake set of silvers. But turns out they are the real deal!

Big thanks to smores for sending me over this 1st gen cassette to transfer! This is the same source as the bootleg title "Hanging Like Jesus On This Cross", but as a known gen of the recording. This version is a tad bit shorter than the unknown source. Leaving out the first 25 seconds of "Pinion"and about the first 15 seconds of "The Downward Spiral" where the tape flip occurs. After comparing both transfers, the 1st gen tape sounds much better. Not as muddy as the bootleg that floats around. This is why it took awhile to release this. But the quality different between the two versions makes it worth releasing this. As seen above with source 1a, we have acquired the DAT master transfer. I still really prefer this transfer. I assume that Steve through this through a BBE or something while recording the DAT master to the cassette. It sounds a lot fuller and warmer. Is the 24/48 and 16/44 a bit redundant when we know the master DAT is actually recorded in 16/32? Yes. But I have already released them in these formats. So I guess I will keep them instead of converting one to 16/32.
